Originally released in 1993, "Next Millennium Vibrations" drifts through warped tape loops, ambient zones and sampled oriental percussion with comical electronics, conjuring a surreal, meditative and disorienting atmosphere. Magical Power Mako weaves fractured beats with ethereal melodies, blending kosmische, lo-fi psychedelia, and avant-garde experimentation.

Composer Toru Takemitsu introduced Mako to Polydor, who released his 1974 debut album, "Magical Power", featuring Keiji Haino on vocals. Music as ritual has been a central motif in Mako's work. With his playful aesthetic and his arcane approach to live performances, often taking the form of channeling rituals, incorporating elements from alien communications, psychic networking to Buddhist symbolism, Mako perpetuated a personal mythology.

Magical Power Mako passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2025. This reissue release was planned and authorized by Mako before his passing.
