A rather unusual album if you know Merzbow by his trademark wall of pure noise. Recorded back in 1983, "Escape Mask" reveals to a well-hidden side of Masami Akita.
Psychedelic atonal guitar-driven noise, samples, junk noise, scrubbing guitar elements, violin saws, technoid drum machine patterns and even some buried vocal inclusions - all together this distinctive album evokes sweet memories of Throbbing Gristle or early SPK.
Originally released as C-60 cassette on ZSF Produkt, Japan and digitally remastered from the original cassette in July 2012 at Munemihouse, Tokyo. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.
