• CRASH WORSHIP - '!Pyru!' 7"

RARITY! Cult American experimental industrial-noise performance group founded in 1986 around San Diego, California. Crash Worship ADRV - whose live shows are infamous for their unrivalled and unlimited chaos. Led by a strong trio of drummers, the band creates an atmosphere of bacchanalia and total abandon. Their recordings explore different aspects of rhythm and psychedelia.

"Pyru" opens with fucked-up wet p*rn movie funk before gyrating itself into a soporific, drug-exploded attempt at splicing tribal drumming with extreme hippie fare. The resultant monster is more an uneasy symbiosis than a healthy hybrid. The trancy feel of the track pulls against the alienating distortion so you feel both absorbed into its sound and at the same rime rejected rather painfully.

The 'B' side [is] very different from the flip with the tribalism coming through even more obviously, combining with unrelenting loop tapes to create an odd, ever intensifying dance piece. The final track returns more to the 'A' side than anything - a Junk-Culture, Eastern Industrial noise wash over a gut-busting intense drum barriage which again seems to intensify as it progresses. Probably closer to Splintered's "Pigmeat" era combined with Test Dept. circa "Gododdin" than to, say, Muslimgauze" (Soft Watch).

Explicit cover art! Original stock find from the label (slight ring wear to cover - not much considering its age!).
