TxRxP explores themes of religion, magick and the hidden realms of consciousness, taking its musical cues from the old school of ritual ambient & death industrial. Rhythmic and seething at times, and oozing forward with a creeping sense of desolation at others, TxRxP conjures forth bleak but mesmerizing visions of the end-times. “Perfection & Permanence”: a hymn to Isis; a further exploration of the duality of the holy further exploration of the duality of the holy harlot, the black skinned Magdalen, mother and concert of the Christ; Yeshua Ben Yosef, son of MAN; the shameful dead, those who sold their brothers, condemned to forever roam the earth; to transgress the abyss, to mortify flesh, towards cosmic renovation. It is lonely, it is awful; on the verge of physical death, but still unable to understand; absolute perfection may be attained through WILL. A conversation with angels, in archaic tongues; Eiríkr inn Sigrsæli sold his blood and kin to desert rats for corporeal power. Eirikr, we spit on you.; from across the abyss, it rises. Ceaseless, blood-churning, terrible; an incoherent accusation by the mirror image, he who’s blood was shed to atone another man’s sins. Without bloodshed there can be no salvation.

Southern Italian artist Fabio Orsi sits among the most interesting names of the European electronic and experimental scene. "Qui vicino " does not contain any note or credit, just a touching dedication from which we deduce the intimate nature of the composition. Ideally divided into two parts of roughly equal duration, the 33 minute track offers a dark evolving guitar drone that slowly take shape and then dissolve to recreate itself in a more placid and radiant way. "Guitar, loop station, love and tears. No overdubs. No outtakes". Ltd x 250 copies in an A4 size 16-page booklet, containing stunning pictures taken by Orsi himself.

Gianluca Favaron (Under The Snow, Lasik Surgery, Zbeen) returns with a new solo work released in the prestigious "13: Private Sounds" series. The idea behind this new release is to create patterns based on the repetition of small sound particles obtained from a single source. Over the 11 tracks we witness the proliferation of particular sound events that, sometimes wandering alone or sometimes by congregating into small throbbing and vital lumps, generate a vibrant microcosm characterised by short loops, slowly but constantly evolving. In some cases, the simplicity of the construct and the infinitesimal tonal progressions are appreciated for their intrinsic hypnotic quality. Ltd x 250 copies in an outsized sleeve.

- 'From The Earth To The Spheres Vol. 6' CD (A Silent Place) - £7
Reissue of the ultra limited eponymous LP from 2005. Performer / turntabilist Christian Marclay and cello improviser Okkyung Lee's track is the result of a live performance recorded at Tonic NYC, December 2003. Lee's powerful cello's stabs interact with Marclay's waves of screaming sounds creating a unique, stunning scenario. One of their heaviest conceptions to date, MCIAA's piece is built on electric guitars' strings moaning onto walls of space drones and electronics like ectoplasmic presences emerging from the brilliance of the Void. MCIAA's need of a non-finite "space music & art" aesthetics research has led them to etch a ghost track (instead of the final lock-groove you can find on the original vinyl) to un-seal the sounds from their actual support. LAUDANUM - 'The Coronation' CD (20 Buck Spin) - £10
Judd and Becky Hawk are joined by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Pig Heart Transplant, Earhammer Studios) and Nathan Misterek (Graves At Sea). On "The Coronation", the two elements that make up the current Laudanum sound – punishing, bruised sludge doom and bleak industrial noise experiments – are fused ever more tightly together into a cohesive soundtrack for the slow collapse of modern life and culture. The intense low frequency pummel of Wilkinson’s bass rumble is itself an apparent cause for some of this collapse, such is its massive earth-shaking power. Becky’s crushing drum beats rival Dale Crover in sheer intensity and brute force. Judd’s repetitive stone slab riffs carrying the weight of the world, and Misterek’s vocals, colliding with Becky’s, coating the whole thing with the mournful, evil magick of life’s coming oppression. LU is Italian artist Gianluca Porcu. Deep and wrapping digital soundscapes, dotted by micro-noisy granular material, resonant fields where time and space humble themselves in a single perceptive continuum. Contemporary, abstract, minimal, cold, intense and evocative drone music. Self-recorded instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, guitar) are sampled, mixed with electronica, female voices, Marcel Duchamp cut up, and a soft tone touch of glitchy sounds. This time the space improv duo from Torino, Italy, shares one side of the vinyl with Swedish radical saxophonist MATS GUSTAFSSON. On his track 'I Have Not Set Any Time Limits For The Attempt' Gustafsson plays tenor and slide sax, weevil sax, and electronics. In MCIAA's 'Everything Burns Like Cosmic Debris' the space brothers play astral and cosmic guitars, vocals, mouth harmonica, space toys and burning percussions. Digisleeve. |

Second full-length album from Italian brothers Maurizio & Roberto Opalio (My Cat Is An Alien) and vocalist Ramona Ponzini (Praxinoscope). 'Fallen Camellias' is a tribute to one of the greatest poetess ever, Japanese Yosano Akiko, whose work in literature in the early 1900's is considered as manifesto of the Japanese Romanticism. Imagine a Vashti Bunyan or a early Marianne Faithful singing sweet melodies in Japanese language, and you can have an idea of the musical and poetical universe of PPOPG. The songs of 'Fallen Camellias' are built on acoustic guitar melodies and are made of the same pure, melancholy of the legendary Nick Drake. PAUL BRADLEY & CRIA CUERVOS - 'Moraines II' CD (Small Voices) - £7
Moraines II is a radical re-working of the limited cdr release Moraines. The original recordings have been augmented, re-worked and newely mixed into an entirely different piece of music. The final result is far heavier and more substantial work that creates a light and dark relationship with the original release and is much more than a simple ‘remix’of Moraines. Andrew Liles also contributes a track that takes elements and unique contributions to twist the work into his own personal sound world. Digisleeve.

On “Painted Shadows”, the Chicago group scales back the guitars just a touch in favour of vaguely tribal textures as on the hypnotic lead cut “I Feel Evils.” There’s a more cosmically devoted feel than past albums, touching on elongated Kraut-like soundscapes. But the group’s trademark kitchen sink take on avant-rock – incorporating everything from Hawkwind space-rock to post-MC5 freakouts to widescreen Neu! aural landscapes – remains firmly in place. Roughly 50 minutes of monolithic riffs from this mysterious Rome 5-piece. "Secta" immerses the listener into an abyss of dark psychedelic sounds and ritualistic atmospheres. They take a lot of inspiration for their unique sound from genres such as doom, black metal and the 70s psychedelic scene, hence their music can be best described as a mix of hypnotic sounds and esoteric themes that guide the listener towards the left hand path. "Secta" is a heavier, atmospheric journey, through the alchemy and his secret language and signs. From lead to silver and gold, to reach the truth. T.A.C. is a group of sonic alchemists who fuse synthetics, strings, acoustic instruments and treatments into a tapestry of psycho/ambient soundscapes filled with hypnotic atmospheres and synthetic incantations. It is surreal, cerebral and unique "cosmic" music of a new sort. "Twilight Rituals" is the complementary twin album to "Waiting For The Twilight", created during the same recording sessions. "Twilight Rituals" presents obscure hypnotic atmospheres, in which everything is mixed and confused. The sounds are never what they seem to be.
