A collaborative release of charming Neofolk / Noir-Cabaret songs. The tracks comprising "Songs of Hate + Hate" were composed by Art Abscon, J1 StatiK (Luftwaffe), and N2 ItinitI. The three recorded these disparate compositions and agreed to ceremonially bury several corpses by way of lyrical effigy. It had long been their ambition to speak clearly; that their meaning be readily understood. In the plainest words, their "Songs of Hate + Hate" are a praxis for what is to come, and a faithful record of what came before; as was once sung in song: "Do this for love, but first honor hate" (Luftwaffe, 'Ere I Perish'). These songs are dedicated to those who would profit from borrowed accomplishments, but have nothing of their own to create. Art, J1 and N2 give their assurance that from their words and signs no theft will bring benefit. For after the last lie is redacted, what remains is often unkind. The jackals and hyenas know who they are; this album is dedicated to their dishonor. Digipak.

Conceived between Saitama and Berlin, this album is a collaboration between Japanese junk metal noise-master Masahiko Okubo (Linekraft) and Italian rhythmic heavy electronics pioneer P/S (Cazzodio / Naxal Protocol). A bludgeoning combination of the analogue pulsations of vintage Italian power electronics, the furious overdriven metal percussion Linekraft is renowned for, and the trademark mechanical saturated electronics of Cazzodio, assembled with the earsplitting esthetics of Japanese noise. Featuring American death industrial wunderkind The Vomit Arsonist, who contributes vocals on one track. SUN RA AND HIS ASTRO-INFINITY ARKESTRA - 'Other Strange Worlds' LP (Roaratorio) - £15 |

Within Sun Ra’s vast-as-outer-space discography, the album that orbits the furthest away from the known jazz universe is "Strange Strings". Calling it a “study in ignorance,” Ra directed his Arkestra stalwarts to pick up unusual stringed instruments and homemade percussion with which they had little familiarity, and improvise without any guidelines or direction; the resulting record is one of Ra’s best. Now, Roaratorio is proud to issue a satellite around that lonely planet: "Other Strange Worlds", recorded in Ra’s NYC apartment in May of 1965, dates from the same era and employs the same methodology as "Strange Strings". But while the latter album featured the full Arkestra, "Other Strange Worlds" pares the players down to a core quintet of Ra, John Gilmore, Marshall Allen, Art Jenkins, and Ali Hasaan. There’s plenty of freewheeling collective improvisation in the Ra catalogue, but rarely in a small-group setting such as this. Half of the pieces are texture-over-tonality string experiments, while the rest feature exotic reeds and percussion. "Other Strange Worlds" is a significant addition to Sun Ra’s body of work, and a brilliant example of free improv from the days before it had a name. Download coupon included.

The Rita’s new full length work is a complex work of obsessive research on discipline, elite beauty, and suffering in the world of Ballet. The first of 2 lengthy tracks slowly builds up over-the-top harsh noise machinery that brings Sam McKinlay’s (BT.HN, Vice Wears Black Hose, Black To Comm) classic trademark that crowned him as the godfather of harsh noise wall, with a monolithic build up of violence and intensity. The second track is a power electronics rework of the the same sounds executed by Insubria hostile electronic unit CALIGULA031 that mixed all material with analogue / modular sounds and in your face vocals, underlining different possibilities of textural processing. The original sound sources are from Vancouver's Kelly Davis, who rigorously went through various feet positions and movements of classical ballet while a Traumatone contact microphone was rigged with a knee support brace to the side of her knee / thigh to capture the sounds of any hint of movement. McKinlay finds that the totemic fetishism and the subtle resonances of the female voice as they describe the topic(s) help to bury the listener into all that is woman, especially as the samples shift into the symmetry of a female dancer’s recorded movement. Grave robbing, torture, possessed nuns, and a satanic Sabbath: Benjamin Christensen’s legendary 1922 film uses a series of dramatic vignettes to explore the scientific hypothesis that the witches of the Middle Ages suffered the same hysteria as turn-of-the-century psychiatric patients. But the film itself is far from serious; instead it’s a witches’ brew of the scary, gross, and darkly humorous. In 1968, an abbreviated version of the film (77 minutes) was released. This version features an eclectic jazz score by Daniel Humair (played by a quintet including Jean-Luc Ponty on violin and Daniel Humair on percussion) and dramatic narration by William S. Burroughs. This album, celebrating the bands 16th anniversary, consists of remixes and cover versions of original Reutoff tracks, made by bands / projects / friends, whose music has always been close to the band. Most of the contributors created their tracks using original Reutoff material, some of them were just inspired by Reutoff's music, others tuned in with their own sound and the track with Deutsch Nepal is an entirely team-work piece. Over the course of the 12 tracks which comprise their 2nd album, "Born Again", Blood Axis explores an epic yet human universe in which gods are summoned, kingdoms rise, riddles are unlocked, love is lost, and worlds crumble. Whereas early Blood Axis music was marked by keyboards and samples, Blood Axis in 2010 is stripped down to an essential core of natural instrumentation - electric and acoustic strings, melodeon, piano, highland bagpipes and Galician gaita, marching percussion, the mysterious Annabel-a-tron, and Bobby BeauSoleil's growling, prison-vintage guitar eruptions circa 1976. Underpinning the album and propelling much of the music is the traditional Irish bodhrán, recorded here with unprecedented power. Moynihan's ominous voice is well matched by Annabel Lee's elfin intonations, just as her violin finds a perfect counterpoint in Robert Ferbrache's protean guitar parts. Shot through by myth and romance, the expressive lyrics on "Born Again" have their roots in ancient and modern poetry, archaic invocations and tragic laments. Both unclassifiable and unforgettable: neither folk nor rock, traditional nor avant-garde, modern nor archaic, it is simply Blood Axis. To everything there is season. This is the much demanded and long overdue re-release of the extremely rare album, originally released in 2002. The album was originally limited to 500 hand-numbered copies and came in very special packaging: The CD was mounted on a glass plate inside a 6" black box with gold-embossed logo & title on front.
