NEW COLD SPRING RELEASES DELAYED DUE TO COVID-19

We're extremely sorry to announce that our 3 new Cold Spring releases didn't arrive with us on 15th.

The pressing plant emailed at the close of day to tell us that because of social distancing and furloughing staff they couldn't meet the deadline and hadn't been able to ship as promised. We aren't happy they left it until release date to impart this vital information. However, the delay isn't huge and they confirmed today that we will have all 3 titles next week.

We can only apologise for the delay and hope you understand that the world is not functioning as it should be and these things can unfortunately happen. We imagine it's not easy keeping a busy factory working normally in the current climate.

ANDREA MARUTTI | CARLO GIORDANI - 'Impressioni Organizzate Di Ansie Liquide' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £11.50

In 2011 Andrea Marutti (Amon, Maribor, Never Known, Hall Of Mirrors etc) and Carlo Giordani were invited by Massimo Indellicati of Ambiente H to provide a soundtrack to accompany a series of experimental movies whose main theme was "water". That led to the creation of a series of long pieces that were collected under the title "Impressioni Organizzate di Ansie Liquide" ("Organized Impressions of Liquid Anxieties"). In 2019 the five parts of this fruitful collaboration were completed. On this release, the vast array of analogue / digital synthesizers and electronic devices handled by Marutti is perfectly matched to Giordani's field recordings and tapes, giving life to a totally immersive environment, handing out moments of considerable tension, but also sudden flashes of light and calm mesmerizing passages. The tracks feature incredible recordings taken by Giordani during a 5-day expedition in the restricted areas of the dams of Venerocolo and Pantano dell'Avio Lakes in the Brescia district of Italy, which are effectively used in combination with sampled and electronic sounds to create an 'augmented Musique Concrete' that touches Dark Ambient territories. FRKSE - 'Denigration Rapture' 7" (Iron Lung Records / Divergent Series) - £8

A masterful amalgamation of sinister tape loops and unsettling industrial clangs makes "Denigration Rapture" a hypnotic conflagration replete with pulsing Kraut drones, sampled vocal/musical textures and crunchy power electronics. You can feel the unnatural barbs of the dark forces sinking in while they slowly lull you down to depths and hold you there forever. Drown in this glory. FRKSE - 'Desecration Anxiety I' LP (Divergent Series / Auris Apothecary) - £18

FRKSE is an experimental artist, sculptor of bleak atmospheres, tape loop rhythms, harsh tones, and a plethora of unsettling samples. With titles like "Witness to a Levitation Ruse" and "Delusion", "Desecration Anxiety I" presents a theme of false prophets and the empty promises of spirituality by grinding through 12 tracks of FRKSE's trademark sound. Vocal samples in a foreign tongue permeate passages of clanging chimes and atonal guitar while a pulsating beat provides a punishing underbelly of unrest. "Desecration Anxiety I" is a cohesive and consistently dismal album, at times feeling akin to a vintage horror movie soundtrack, and others like a lost mixtape of experimental beats from an organic industrial outfit. With a highly dynamic lacquer transfer and virgin black vinyl, "Desecration Anxiety I" is a hi-fidelity testament to the powers of overcoming spiritual ignorance. Ltd x 216 copies, housed in chipboard jackets with screen-printed art, 11" square insert and download card.

GRUNT - 'Spiritual Eugenics' 2 x CD (Freak Animal) - £16

Born in 1993, Grunt remains one of the most active and restless forces in the Finnish - or even global - power electronics / industrial noise network. Since the first tapes were published 25 years ago, project has been active without any breaks, with a list of releases reaching close to 100, yet most of them represents an approach other than creation of a regular "album". Spiritual Eugenics continues the path established by "Castrate The Illusionist" (2018), "Myth Of Blood" (2015), "World Draped In A Camouflage" (2012), "Petturien Rooli" (2009) and "Seer of Decay" (2006). It expands the sounds, themes and visuals to unheard levels, but keeps a firm touch of the recognisable Grunt sound. A monolithic work packaged in a 6-panel double digipak with booklet (explicit artwork!).

LIKE THE SNOW - 'Like The Snow' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £11.50

Like The Snow (Luca Mazzariol) delivers his first work after five years of research and experimentation. The Italian project comes to life collecting a series of tracks that travel through electronic and ambient music in a dark sound world... At times almost danceable, absorbing the influences of the beloved synths of the '80s, reinterpreting in his own peculiar way the moods accumulated over time. For lovers of the most classic New Wave / Darkwave... Clan of Xymox and Neon. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold digisleeve with beautiful photography by Stefano Gentile.

LULLABIER - 'Mono / Stereo' CD (Oltrelanebbiailmare / Silentes) - £11.50

"Mono / Stereo" is a concept album in which the polar concepts of isolation and sharing constantly follow one another. Featuring a more acoustic focus compared to Lullabier's previous releases, it takes slowcore and ethereal dream-pop, and tunes them to a more intimate kind of songwriting. Folk-infused arrangements and minimalist structures flow throughout the album, guiding the listener across nostalgic, contemplative and even spectral feelings. Featuring Edgardo Moia Cellerino of LE MASQUE, who lends his voice to the track 'Soliloquio', this work represents the 'state of the art' of the LULLABIER project. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel matt digisleeve and printed vellum oversleeve, with artwork by Stefano Gentile.

MAURIZIO BIANCHI - 'Gene-X' SIGNED CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £22

Maurizio BIanchi created "Gene-X" in the spring of 1980 as a sidereal evolution of "Gene-P". For long time this de-composition was lost in the artist's archives but, after the publication of several bootlegs, the original tape was finally rediscovered. With the help of Siegmar Fricke, the work was restored and is now brought to light in an official and definitive form. A pioneering work, pervaded with neuro-galactic reminiscences. 40 years since its recording, "Gene-X" is available for the first time on CD in a limited edition of only 100 copies SIGNED and numbered by MB. The disc is included in a poster cover (42 x 60cm) containing the reproduction of 8 collages (21 x 21cm each) signed by Stefano Gentile and made using original artifacts dating back to 1980. MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Heaven's Great Dome | Discourse On Deconstruction' 2 x CD (Reverse Alignment) - £16

This beautiful release consists of a double CD comprising two, and also marks two decades since the start of Swedish dark ambient / drone maestro Moljebka Pvlse (aka Mathias Josefson). "Heaven's Great Dome" is a collection of three new compositions (over 70 minutes) by Moljebka Pvlse. "Discourse On Deconstruction" is the result of collaborations with international artists: Troum, Daniel Menche, Colin Potter (Monos, Nurse With Wound), Phil Knight (Big City Orchestra, The Legendary Pink Dots, The Stone Tapes), Marja-Leena Sillanpää, Isabel Fogelklou, and Hara Alonso, who have each reinterpreted source material from the Moljebka Pvlse albums "Discourse On Lightness" (2017) and "Heaven's Great Dome", using instruments as varied as singing bowls, piano, tapes and drones. PISSOIR ROUGE - 'Asphyxia Apotheose' CD (Phosgen Records / Obsessive Fundamental Realism) - £12

Finally the long-awaited debut full-length CD of German Power Electronics madman Pissoir Rouge. Piercing feedback, deranged vocals, punishing metal junk. An atmosphere of total hatred, nihilism and scummy surroundings. Utmost fetishism and perversion expressed as Power Electronics with a beautiful Harsh Noise twist to it. Comes with 8 page booklet!

RADON TRENCH - 'Gods Of Decimation' MCD (Demented Omen Of Masochism) - £9

Ultra heavy Italian blackened Noise / Industrial with Black Metal blast beats and Noise walls. Four tracks of crushing War Noise against the modern world. Brutal, heavy oppressive. "Sonic terror and annihilation. Tempos are so fast, that drum-machine hardly can keep them in shape, heavy rubble guitars grind everything into dust, and war commands are issued by hidden in the back, transmitted by effect vocals." RUTGER ZUYDERVELT - 'Porcelain (Original Film Soundtrack)' CD (Self-Released) - £11.50

Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek) presents the exquisite soundtrack to the Dutch feature film by Jenneke Boeijink. Zuydervelt not only created the music weaved into the psychological drama, but this album also contains 12 extra tracks created during the same sessions. Using a motif from Henry Purcell's "The Fairy Queen", the score is at once violent and tender; powerful, emotional and passionate music of great tension, with brilliant performances from cellist Francesco Guerri, the strings adding a heart-wrenching pull. "Porselein" (Porcelain): "After making a fortune through tearing businesses apart, Paul has provided a wealth of comfort for his family. His wife Anna is a leading expert in porcelain restoration. Together with their eight-year-old son Thomas, Anna and Paul live on the top floor of a high-rise building overlooking the city. But when Thomas becomes ill, the first cracks appear in their perfect lives. As Paul tries to retain control, the world he has created slowly begins to crumble around him...". Digipak. SIMON BALESTRAZZI - 'Cautionary Tales' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £11.50

A cautionary tale in folklore warns its listener of a danger. There are three essential parts to a cautionary tale... First, a taboo or prohibition is stated: some act, location, or thing is said to be dangerous. Then, the narrative itself is told: someone disregarded the warning and performed the forbidden act. Finally, the violator comes to an unpleasant fate, which is frequently related in expansive and grisly detail. "Cautionary Tales" is a work that has slowly developed over 15 years, a work which Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Candor Chasma, Daimon, ex-Kirlian Camera etc) returned to every time there was a new story to tell. The seven stories that compose it were born from hypnagogic-like states, strongly influenced by a surrealist imagery, in particular by Max Ernst's collage-novels. As in a collage, each time - with every new intervention - some new material was juxtaposed and reassembled with recycled materials from the previous session, until a homogeneous texture was obtained. In essence, this is an album which is both new and old, placed out of ordinary time and in search of a narrative and space of its own; a chronicle of events that never happened. TENSHUN / MAUNARC - 'Split' 7" (Divergent Series) - £8

Studies in drum break architecture and mood, with implied industrial elements, from two artists who care little for relevancy in the modern artist world. Reno's Manuarc launches a subterranean assault with cutlery hacked drums and bad trip samples. San Diego's Tenshun drums and sews them together using a modular sequence blast and very warped samples. Ltd x 166 copies on white vinyl in double sided silk screened covers by Khlyst K. Ahlan, with insert.

VEPRISUICIDA - 'Veprisuicida' CD (Industrial Recollections / Freak Animal) - £9

Reissue of an impossible to find 1996 tape, originally releafsed on Ultra. Veprisuicida is the most primitive and noisy of Alexander Lebedev-Frontov works. His industrial projects are widely celebrated among underground - Linija Mass, Stalnoy Pakt, Vetrophonia etc, but Veprisuicida seems to be far less recognised. It's charm is in brutal and manually crafted primitive industrial waste. Eerie feeling of old Soviet avantgarde clashes with industrial-noise tape manipulations. Rugged, crude rusty industrial noise with a bleak and rotten sound. A broken mechanical feel, where saturated tape manipulations and disruptive pause edits add further charm. For lovers of fierce and difficult ripping industrial noise. Features the original graphics.

XIPHOID DEMENTIA - 'Prison Of Hope' LP (Divergent Series) - £18

Power electronics without the slit bleeding neck. The latest effort from Xiphoid Dementia features five new tracks of abstract industrial with elements of noise and power electronics. The release sees more exploration in a stripped down semi-rhythmic approach and even some more musical elements here and there. Considered the next phase of evolution for the project. Art designed by Ghostsafe. Ltd x 200 copies.

Over 70 minutes of new and exclusive tracks from: The Rita, Bagman, Scatmother, Linekraft, Detrimental Effect, Reptile Womb, Naxal Protocol, AntiChildLeague, Armour Group, Chaos Cascade, Die Reitenden Leichen, Maskhead, Cervical Smear, Rotat, and Pissoir Rouge.

ASMUS TIETCHENS + TERRY BURROWS - 'Watching The Burning Bride / Burning The Watching Bride' 2 x CD (Die Stadt / Auf Abwegen ) - £16

The two collaborative albums by Asmus Tietchens and Terry Burrows - "Watching The Burning Bride" and "Burning The Watching Bride" - are reissued here on double CD. The works originally appeared on vinyl in 1986 and 1998 respectively. Also featured are two short bonus tracks: 'Torso 1' and 'Torso 2'. The music moves from loops to ambient to drone, and both discs offer a very different listening experience. "...sit back, drink a wine and let the sound fully immerse your living room. Dark, atmospheric and simply great" (Vital Weekly). Features a lengthy text by Terry Burrows explaining how the collaboration came about. Part 16 of the Asmus Tietchens reissue series.

CTHULHU - 'Hallucinations in The Colour Out of Space' CD (Phosgen Records) - £9.50

Cthulhu hails from Russia to bring you dreams of the Great Old ones. Prepare yourself for Drones of Madness and Insanity. Cthulhu is one of three Manifestations of the Great Cthulhu from Russia (a project of Blackdeath's members). The others are Nuclear Cthulhu and Cthulhu Biomechanical. "...like drifting slowly through the murky eddies of unfathomable depths, as shapes of the Old Ones and unnameable sea monsters form and disperse amongst the seagrass and sunken ruins". ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO + HIJOKAIDAN - 'E.G.Kaidan (Live In Tokyo 24 November 2013)' LP (Geometrik) - £16

Special live collaboration by the Spanish Industrial music pioneers Esplendor Geometrico (Arturo Lanz, Saverio Evangelista) and the legendary Japanese King Of Noise, Hijokaidan (Jojo Hiroshige, Junko, T. Mikawa). Overlapping material chosen from E.G.'s "Ultraphoon" album, Jojo Hiroshige's guitar sound and the harsh noise generated by Mikawa, combined with Junko's eccentric voice, mingling together into an unprecedented mass of sound. The two ensembles fused their unique sounds together and assaulted the audience with overpowering force. The vocal interchange between Arturo Lanz and Junko, getting the audience involved, whipped the whole venue into frenzy. Ltd x 400 copies on black vinyl.

GRUNT - 'Documentation' 3 x CD Boxset (Freak Animal) - £25

A collection of Grunt's European live shows from 2005-2008. A lot of good sounding live gigs, that match level of studio recordings. Various versions of songs some known from studio releases, but a lot of material never published as studio versions. Does not overlap with the old live tape releases! This is a repress of the boxset that came about 10 years ago, but with improved packaging. Each CD comes in a cardboard sleeve, and presented inside a rigid clamshell box. Graphics are the same as the original - using artwork from the video backdrops used at shows.

HOARFROST - 'Anima Mundi' CD (Reverse Alignment) - £11

Anima Mundi - the world soul. Sometimes interpreted as the mythical Gaia or the mother of earth and all it's life and forms. The superorganism of the planet. With their fourth album, Hoarfrost explores the philosophical view of mother earth as the caring ancient goddess and the possibility that she's actually a Medea that will deceive and betray humanity, making us faithless and deprived of our will to survive... and in the end, facing total collapse. On "Anima Mundi", Hoarfrost collaborates with Katarzyna Bromirska (cello), Valdi Rzeszut (guitar), Dawid Chrapla and Tomasz Twardawa (noise structures) bringing us dark ambient industrialism. JARL - 'Amygdala Colours - Hemisphere Rotation' CD (Reverse Alignment) - £11

Unbalanced, turbulent, withdrawn electronics that focus on isolation. Where Jarl's last album explored the external mysteries of Dyatlov 1959, Eric Jarl (IRM, Skin Area) takes us unto an internal trip through the structures and events of the cognitive mind with a main focus on the Amygdala, where the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions occur. This album is built with layers of sound which slowely gets audible and disappears psychedelically. A variation of electronic and acoustic treatments has been used and the whole album is a mastodon track passing 50 minutes. As usual, the listener gets a mixture of drone, ambient and industrial that are moulded perfectly into "that" typical Jarl-ish sound that sure won't disappoint. JARL - 'Hypnosis Colour' CD (Reverse Alignment) - £11

Without taking as much as a short break, Eric Jarl (IRM, Skin Area) returns with "Hypnosis Colour". Continuing from where "Amygdala Colours - Hemisphere Rotation" ended, Jarl takes us on a 47 minute trip further into the psyche of human mind. Hypnotically coloured sounds that evolve into a mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds. Disturbing and beautiful. Mastered by fellow musician Peter Andersson (Raison D'être), with arts crafted by Karolina Urbaniak. Ltd x 200 copies in an ecopak.

THE GEROGERIGEGEGE - 'The Gerogerigegege' 12" (Scrotum Records) - £12.50

In April 2003, The Gerogerigegege hit the road on an 8-city US west coast tour. They would make history by partaking in the first ever all scratch music tour. The unique thing about this record is that most of the sounds were designed and arranged before the group actually rehearsed it. In other words, you will hear this record and be challenged with the question on how to use the sounds just as they were. Like any The Gerogerigegege releases, this is not your average record; it features custom made sounds, vintage synths, as well as samples from seminal albums such as "Sketchbook: An Introduction to Good Music". 16 'tracks'.
