MICHAEL CASHMORE & SHALTMIRA - 'Michael Cashmore / Shaltmira' LP (Trisol) - £23

This extraordinary record was especially recorded by Michael Cashmore to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Trisol label. Consisting of two long tracks the music electronic, experimental, dark but also has a connection to techno and really is something truly ground breaking and unique. This release is a special collaboration with artist, occultist, shapeshifter, nomad and enigma Shaltmira who contributed the extraordinary images for the artwork for this record. Michael Cashmore joined Current 93 in 1990 and for the next 20 years wrote almost exclusively all of the music for the group including the seminal albums "Of Ruine Or Some Blazing Starre", "Sleep Has His House", "Soft Black Stars" and "Thunder Perfect Mind". "Snow Leopard Messiah" sees the long awaited reissue of two influential albums from Nature And Organisation (aka Michael Cashmore of CURRENT 93): "Beauty Reaps The Blood Of Solitude" and "Death In A Snow Leopard Winter". A mix of acoustic instruments, surreal sound collages, cut-up super 8mm film and tape loops creating a sound that would later be regarded as influential in the genre of post-industrial music. "Beauty Reaps The Blood Of Solitude" was first released in 1994 and includes collaborations with David Tibet (CURRENT 93), Douglas P. (DEATH IN JUNE), Rose McDowall (STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE) and Steven Stapleton (NURSE WITH WOUND). With its mix of classical, acoustic and industrial elements, it is now regarded as one of the most influential and seminal albums in the post-industrial / neofolk genres. "Death In A Snow Leopard Winter" was first released in 1998 and serves as an incisive and beautiful testament to the group's direction at this time. Remastered by Andrew Liles (Nurse With Wound, Current 93), with two bonus tracks. Presented in an 8-panel foil-embossed double digipak with booklet containing lyrics and photos, with new artwork by Cashmore.

NATURE AND ORGANISATION - 'Universal Death Stream' LP & DVD - *SIGNED* (Trisol) - £25

An extremely rare live recording by legendary Industrial / experimental / dark folk project Nature And Organisation (aka Michael Cashmore of Current 93), previously only available on an impossible to find cassette, now presented on vinyl for the first time and edited especially for this reissue. This sees the band at their most volatile, raw state, using harsh sounds and screaming vocals contrasted by quieter sequences that show the early form of this band that later grew to be so influential. The DVD consists of an unseen short film made by the band in 1985 with a brand new soundtrack especially recorded for the film in 2016 (the first new recording by Nature And Organisation in almost 20 years). The original 1985 film has been re-edited by Davidé Pepe especially for this release. This is an essential release of this lost documentation of the early influential sound of Nature And Organisation, topped by a DVD that many thought would never even be imaginable. PIRKAN - 'Pirkan' CD (Sun & Moon Records) - £11

Debut album from this Psychedelic Folk / Drone Folk act, featuring ex-Scivias members. Love and death flutters the deepest moments of the Hungarian folk song heritage, and these exact moments are captured by the most compelling covers and own songs of Pirkan. Contemporary poems set to music also end up Pirkanised, the human's broken heart rings over the echoing fields of passing. The range of instruments includes traditional Hungarian ones, zither, kobza, flute, overtone flute, hurdy-gurdy, Jew's harp, double bass, accompanied by analog synthesizers and a vast amount of digital sound makers, and to make the sound even more eclectic there are the tobshuur of the Mongolian steppes and throat singing. Far from world music's cheap manifestations, the band seeks perennial truths beyond time and space, and wishes to address today's man with the freshness of vigorous tradition. ROME - 'A Cross Of Fire (Die Æsthetik Der Herrschaftsfreiheit: Aufruhr)' CD (Trisol) - £11

The second part of the "Die Æsthetik Der Herrschaftsfreiheit" trilogy from Rome - a three disc journey into the hearts and minds of the oppressed. Here, Rome run stylistic and emotional gamut: rousing folk numbers with an almost seditious air, dark romantic ballads as well as intimate collages. Without ever becoming enslaved to one particular ideological alignment or descending into nihilism, the song cycle portrays the history of the libertarian / revolutionary movement within Europe and at the same time underlines the human importance of such an endeavour. Reissue of the debut release from this star of the apocalyptic-folk-scene, originally released by CMI in 2006. Emerging from the punk and singer-songwriter genres, Rome has combined these attitudes with a sombre and experimental martial-folk, and a strong personal imprint. Rome is about emotive songs that are both catchy and disturbed. These songs awake memories of love and death, with the reoccurring themes of despair and loss, guilt and grief, might and war. With the cynical opening line "Once we learned to speak we learned to fail", the band sets a grand colour to this exquisite suite of 6 exclusive songs. ROME - 'Nos Chants Perdus' CD (Trisol) - £11

A 'poetry of longing' which rings out from a dark melancholic mist gives expression to a comprehensive feeling of modern forlornness. The protagonists of their music are the unintentional 'rebels', firmly in the tradition of Jaques Brel and Léo Ferré, with lyrical inspiration from Camus, Proust, Sartre and Genet. On "Nos Chants Perdus" Rome slowly leave the apocalyptic realm, developing their singer-songwriter sound further. Catchy melodies, which breathe the timeless atmosphere of the metropolis on the Seine, impress themselves on the memory. The sonorous voice bears the weltschmerz as well as the yearning for freedom and peace. Apart from the French song titles the lyrics are primarily performed in English, while the music is constructed primarily with acoustic instruments: piano, guitar, touches of strings, accordion. They have largely relinquished electronic elements, which marks "Nos Chants Perdus" out as a further stride in the work of the band. "Nos Chants Perdus" is an exceptional and valuable example of the art of singer-song-writing, the likes of which haven't been heard in this concentration and with such gravity for a long time. ROME Feat THÅSTRÖM - 'Stillwell' MCD (Trisol) - £9

Among several instant classics, Rome's 2016 release "The Hyperion Machine" included a duet with legendary Swedish singer-songwriter, punk rock godfather and all-around musical genius Joakim Thåström. This 5-track CD not only features that particularly sombre ballad, but also the initial recording of "Stillwell" that served as the basis for the sonic meeting of two like-minded troubadours. On the album version Joakim Thåström and Jerome Reuter added beats, percussion and strings into the song, as well as some additional lyrics in Swedish. Also featured is the intimate version of "Skirmishes For Diotima", which shows the song in its original form. Another gem is the melange of two early Rome tracks: "Beasts And Birds Of Prey": a journey back to the earlier days of Rome. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.

"Ivrjèn" is a crude collage made out of hums and crackings, walls of noise, rough sound textures and found footage. Mostly based on tape manipulation, heavy electronics, amplified objects and field recordings, combining a wide array of shades and dynamics on severe sound structures. Wind Atlas' fourth record sees the band pushing the boundaries of their own music as genres such as post-industrial electronics, ambient, noise and popular Mediterranean music merge, bringing to life a hybrid and intense album. Is it possible to know an uninterpretable reality? What is knowing? How does the relationship between human beings and reality work?
