Occultural dark ambient acts Nam-Khar and Vortex have previously developed their respective ritualistic styles over a number of concept albums before it seemed natural to join forces in the shadow of rising global conflicts in the current "new 1920's". "The Sarajevo Spiral" unfolds eleven complex compositions featuring reflections on the human 'deathdrive'.
Nam-Khar and Vortex built their musical reflections on the idea that we are at the closure of a historical circle now - one century later. "The Sarajevo Spiral" is about the past, the present as well as the eternal return of fate. It is a multilayered gaze into the abyss; a distorted sketch of the human condition. The result is a martial as well as meditative album.
Aided by the distinctive voice of Christian Fuchs (Fetish 69) and the blackened guitar fragments of Oliver Freund (MARS), this collaborative album goes beyond the former efforts of both acts, defining a more harshly apocalyptic outlook on our world. Darkly spiritual, yet deeply nihilistic.
Mastered by Frederic Arbour. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with memento mori cover art conceived by artist Nadine En Noir. Already sold out from the label!
