The debut album by DC heavy hitter, Weapons Envelope (Emily Haugh). Visceral and blistering noise / Power Electronics.
"Weapons Envelope is an aerial combat term that means area around an aircraft where a weapon can be launched within a high probability of hitting the target. It's close enough to hit such target; a certain deadly intimacy.
This project is genealogical excavation as much as impressionistic. My grandfathers and parents were spawn of such institutions as West Point, Army, Navy, taking off of Naval carriers, divebombers, and the Huey on patrol... All my grandparents are buried in Arlington cemetery and received honor guard ceremonies. This land is cursed by power and advancement - technical, professional, and military. Our corruption lays waste the rest of the world and ourselves...
This project is also a reflection on Northern Virginia and the surrounding arterial suburbs that serve the main industry of Washington DC, which is unilaterally dominated by government, banking systems, defense contractors and skylines of office buildings carrying out the most deplorable acts of humanity under guise of the so called rules based international order, which is in fact an elegant death culture... It's a fanged creature we worship in silence of our forefathers amidst a cold grey sky with monuments spewing out into an unyielding haze".
