'Nightshade' is an album rooted in the strange intelligence of the natural world. Built around the Solanaceae family, a lineage of plants associated with nourishment, poison, ritual, medicine and myth.

'Nightshade' transforms biological signals into sound. Using plant biodata to trigger and shape instrumentation, Helen Wilson creates a series of duets where the organic and electronic dissolve into one another.

Across nine pieces, environments shift between delicate, hallucinatory and quietly ominous: edible species sit beside toxic relatives, field-like textures fold into electroacoustic composition, and moments of intimacy give way to something unknowable. Experimental without losing its sense of wonder, 'Nightshade' is less a document of plants than an attempt to listen with them.
