'Disincarnazione' is a religious term that refers to the loss of one's bodily nature, attaining an incorporeal state of being. This work from Italian artist Lorenzo Abattoir (Mare Di Dirac, Psicopompo) goes in the opposite direction, analysing a range of sounds produced by the human body, focusing on its aggressive nature, searching for links with the primitive animalistic structures within.
All the tracks are composed using various breathing techniques combined with close microphone recordings in order to recreate a raw sound effect based exclusively on amplification, saturation, and the limitations of the microphones' internal circuit. Instruments: breath, throat, stomach, saliva, nails.
"One year ago I started to develop a sort of non verbal communication, using my breath as a sound source to establish an internal dialogue with my body in order to produce and record a series of actions. My aim was to be able to transform the perception of myself, letting out my animal behavior into an amplified habitat".
