Luperci is a drone based noise project from Albuquerque, New Mexico. 'The Holy Mountain' is an epic and introspective piece that oscillates between quiet, hypnotic drone and trance inducing, crushing wall of sound. 'The Holy Mountain' is about the human drive towards enlightenment and is largely influenced by the path of the Aghori Sadhus - a sect of Hindu ascetics who believe everything is sacred and nothing is profane. As part of their spiritual journey, they live alone in cremation grounds, carry a begging bowl made from a human skull, and wear cremation ashes.The extreme nature of their practice and their intense desire for the union with the divine was a major point of inspiration for the album. Each sleeve was printed by Luperci's Joseph Angelo and includes an insert. This vinyl-only release is a hand numbered, limited edition of 100 copies only. ACT FAST!
