After 7 years, Australian Darkwave / Post-Punk act Chiron (the brainchild of ex-Ikon vocalist Michael Aliani) returns with a new album, supported by Dino Molinaro (Ikon) on bass / cello, and Leanne Coe on saxophone for the first time. Influenced by groups like Joy Division and early New Order, Michael left IKON in 1997 and started his own project Chiron.
"The Sun Goes Down" is Chiron's darkest and best release yet, with themes like isolation, loneliness and loss as the focus. Of course, typical Post-Punk and Joy Division elements are included, but the dark tracks with saxophone especially reflect the range and development of the band, while reminding of early Clock DVA ("Advantage"). Features a remix by JM Lederman (The Weathermen, Ghost & Writer).
