• SPHERIC - 'Music For Laboratories' CD

Spheric is Roman composer Orlando Lostumbo. This work is inspired by his working in the biomedical field at the Istituto Superiore di Sanitá research institute. The ongoing contact with scientists and researchers gave the artist the idea to create Ambient music for laboratories, inspired by Brian Eno's 1978 masterpiece "Music For Airports" and topics such as DNA replication, spiral waves, diffraction, bacterial reproduction.

In this work Lostumbo uses electronic sounds, piano and double bass, deconstructing, superimposing and displacing the electronic and acoustic sounds, creating effects that lead to continuous processes of sound transformation within a circular and mantric music. Using overlapping loops he highlights the repetitiveness and circularity of the mechanisms of life and, through manipulation, the destruction and deconstruction of matter that leads to a new birth.
