• MUMMIES AND MADMEN - 'Mummies And Madmen Grow Dark In The Sun' CD

Reissue of the only release from Mummies And Madmen, aka Bob Oliver (Slob Tapes, early live member of Attrition), Alan Rider, head of industrial zine and label Adventures In Reality (Attrition, SPK, Test Dept., Muslimgauze etc) and one half of electronic duo Stress, and the mysterious Cryptic Z Mostman.

The title track was recorded in the very underground experimental electronic scene of Coventry in 1983. It's a mix of throbbing drum machine, synthesiser feedback, PiL style bass and scratchy, reverb drenched, guitar that contorts, evolves and mutates over the course of 22 minutes. Fourteen months later, the 20-minute follow-up 'Red Front' was recorded and both tracks were released in 1984 on Slob Tapes as a C45 tape album.

A surviving copy of the cassette was unearthed and was remastered by Siôn Orgon for this reissue. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
