This is the sixth album from the famous Pagan Folk band, after 2016's acclaimed "Ice Walk And Tales Of The Old Wolf". Hailing from the Amur Region, Russia, the band utilise Slavic style folk instruments along with acoustic guitars and clean vocals / chants bringing in a medieval and pagan atmosphere. All of the musical instruments (including flutes, mandolins, harps, bagpipes) have a very powerful sound to them. Volkolak creates another recording that continues the Slavic pagan / folk music style they had established on previous releases, capturing the atmosphere of pre-Christian Russia. The production sounds very dark, while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover heathenism, ancient traditions, referencing both Slavic and Norse Paganism Gods.
