A tribute compilation to the late experimental / industrial sound artist John Watermann, with Asmus Tietchens, Ralf Wehowsky, Merzbow, Freiband, with source material from Watermann himself.
Over the course of his life John Watermann worked with almost every conceivable artistic medium. In many ways, he was the epitome of the 'total artist'; almost every element of his life being in some way his own artistic project, influencing many prominent sonic alchemists. As a young man in his native Germany he worked as a photographer and documentary filmmaker, also etching, painting and writing. After relocating to Australia, he worked as a jeweller, continuing to write, paint, and sculpt, finally settling in Brisbane where he began to produce his music.
John Watermann died in April 2002, leaving vast plans for future projects, including a collaboration with Frans de Waard, who gathered artists who had worked with John to create the resulting material here.
Packaged in a pair of 6"x6" printed cardboard covers with six paper inserts.
