AFRICAN IMPERIAL WIZARD - 'Isandhlwana' LP (Tesco Organisation) - £23

African Imperial Wizard was secretly founded in the northern districts of the old low town of Luanda (Angola), the day after the ceasefire between the government of the Popular Liberation Front of Angola and the rebels of the National Union for Independence was signed. The music producers immediately focused on the struggle against the colonial military oppression, the pillage of a tyrannized people turned into slaves for centuries and the vengeance of a young generation in perdition. They planned on conveying their actions with ethnic moods drowned in violent powerful beats directed under a martial symphony. AIW's debut full-length album "Isandhlwana" is dedicated to to the kings, warriors, amazons, war captains, rulers and troops who resisted colonialism and fought the oppression of our sacred peoples. These eight tracks orchestrate the military vengeance march of an entire bloodied continent that stands proudly and which, day after day, keeps arming itself in the shadows. BOGAZZI / GASPAROTTI - 'Extrema Ratio' CD (Self-Released) - £10.50

Nicola Bogazzi (Kobayashi) and Gabriele Gasparotti (Extrema Ratio) have created an imaginary soundtrack inspired by the screenplay of the film "Maldoror - Il Dio Selvaggio" (Maldoror - The Wild God) by cult director Alberto Cavallone. "Extrema Ratio is a work with an alienating sound impact and extraordinary visionary power through avant-garde, improvisation, minimalism, psychedelia, industrial, progressive, electronic and obviously the legacy of 70's film music, whether it be Ennio Morricone, John Carpenter or Vangelis. Entirely instrumental, except for a few fragments of dialogue and the vocalizations of some choir, Extrema Ratio is a record that has the imposing sound system of a rock opera and the dark and disturbing aura of a B-Movie horror... At the same time enigmatic and fascinating, the fictional work of Bogazzi and Gasparotti seems to have been designed more for the rooms of an art gallery or for the armchairs of a cinema than for a concert hall: the effect of this music could be truly cathartic and revealing" (Backstreets Of Buscadero). COIL - 'Astral Disaster Sessions Un/Finished Musics Vol. 2' CD (Prescription) - £19.50

These rare recordings were recorded as part of the legendary Prescription series in the late 1990's that resulted in the album "Astral Disaster". Coil were invited to record at Sun Dial studios beneath the London Bridge Hop Exchange (originally known as Samurai studios, built and owned by Iron Maiden). In Victorian times it was an old debtors prison which had three underground levels, and still had the original chains, manacles and wrought iron doors from the old prison. This caught the attention of John Balance and he was very keen to record there. At Gary Ramon's invitation, Coil spent a number of days recording at the studio during Halloween 1998, some of which resulted in the "Astral Disaster" album. Some of the unissued material and mixes released here were omitted from that original album. This second volume of "The Astral Disaster sessions" includes all previously unissued mixes and alternative versions, and includes first version of "The Mothership", later remade in the sessions as "The Mothership And The Fatherland". Taken from the master tapes and remastered by Denis Blackham. Ltd x 600 hand-numbered copies in a digipak with booklet.

ENNO VELTHUYS - 'A Glimpse Of Light' LP (Dead Mind Records) - £19

In 1984, reclusive Dutch Ambient / Fluxus artist Enno Velthuys released his now-classic tape "A Glimpse Of Light" on EXART, the label of Hessel Veldman. After hearing one of his private tapes played on the radio by Willem de Ridder in 1980. Willem introduced the tape, played it and a serene silence filled the studio. During the early 80's, Enno was living a solitary life and rarely left his mother's apartment. He managed to release 6 tapes of introvert, melancholic music from another dimension. Atmospheric melodies backed with sparse percussion, showing an excellent handling of the synthesizer. The gifted musician with two souls silently passed away in 2009. With involvement of the few once close to him, this is the first reissue of probably his most beloved work. Just Enno with his stripped-down compositions and fragile ambient sounds. An intimate experience celebrating bedroom-music and the glory days of do-it-yourself counterculture. The original master tape from the EXART vaults was carefully transferred, edited and remastered for this release. Ltd x 400 copies.

FUTURO DE HIERRO - 'Costumbres y Medidas' 12" (Màgia Roja / Enfant Terrible) - £14

Inspired lyrically by the writings from The Process Church and Hindu conception of time, Viktor Hurtado (Dame Area, Ordre Etern, Qa'a) presents some of the freshest industrial around, distinguished by rhythms that feel like decaying machinery about to collapse. Trading a fine line between subtlety and corrosion, at first glance random noises / feedback evolve into hypnotic patterns and songs. Loud, repetitive, broken beats, noises and powerfully-delivered Spanish vocals make for a punk-influenced industrial techno sound which borders rhythmic noise at times. Like something in between Liaisons Dangereuses, Esplendor Geométrico, SPK, Portion Control, and Sonar, this is an uncompromising EP filled with harsh tracks that work for the dance floor, especially for those fed up with hearing the same beat over and over and over again. Ltd x 200 copies in a j-card sleeve with download card.

GRUNTSPLATTER - 'Dowsing In The Cancer Lands' CD (Crionic Mind) - £11.50

The first new Gruntsplatter full length since "The Aberrant Laboratory" (2006). "Hope lies waiting with the elegant countenance of a poison frog. The last ashes of the map vanished early. Navigate the gooey shadows by determined crawl and pounding stride. Breach the places one hopes to never see, that cannot be unseen. Excavating, sifting, grinding teeth beneath waterfalls. Grateful for every groping moment still to come, for every ember in the fog. The swath carved shimmers behind, with all the revelry this coarse landscape can support". 12 tracks, 70 minutes of death industrial / noisy dark ambient primarily composed on modular synth. HANS VAN ECK - 'Blind Area' LP (Dead Mind Records) - £19

Hans van Eck (Schreck Ensemble) began composing in 1976, training in electronic music at the Institute of Sonology, and studying Musicology at the University of Amsterdam. The "Blind Area" cassette, originally released in 1987 by Decay International, compiles several of his early electronic compositions. They serve as an evocation of the blind areas of our minds where only fantasy, intuition and imagination can guide us. Music as a means to illuminate the hidden parts of our soul to discover the mythical world behind everyday life. For this reissue, 3 central pieces of the original tape are complemented by 2 more recent compositions of somber timbres. Industrial undertones, open spaces and slow waves of pure, refined sound are the key ingredients, but Van Eck adds a subtle, narrative structure for a hypnotic, haunting and elegant experience. A self-contained world with echoes of predecessors like Jean-Claude Risset or Guy Reibel. Ltd x 250 copies.

JACO - 'Los Misterios' LP (Màgia Roja) - £16

The needle drops and straight away a bell dings, a drum pounds and a solemn trumpet marches in and we are deep into the ether, adrift in Jaco's mysteries. Barcelona's Larry Rodríguez (aka Jaco) offers us a glimpse of something located in the interzone between reality, dreams, and dystopia. Bureaucratic fake-news nightmares, surreal trips in Almería, sour reflections on human nature or Thriller-like scenes in a video store are just some of the topics given lyrical treatment. Percussion-driven rhythm is accompanied by a plethora of soundscapes enjoying a ride across the sonic spectrum, full of reverberations, treated sounds and textural synth lines. His music, magical and heterodox, is built on samples (electronic and organic), extracted from the most unexpected places. The result is a combination of post-industrial, musique concrète, post-punk, and dub, generating unprecedented textures more typical of music from an avant-garde or surreal film. Jaco's music delivers on the promise made by its album title and offers us something in line with the uncertainties of the times we find ourselves in. Ltd x 320 copies with printed inner sleeve. The cover art features a sculpture by renowned artist Laia Arqueros Claramunt.

Heavy power electronics / industrial from the UK duo based in Edinburgh. "Agitators Of The Mind is a collection of studio tracks selected for live actions in Germany, France and Poland. "Seven demonstrations of uncompromising power in a time when weakness is the norm. Discordant chants of electronic warpath, controlled voltage and valves. To stop the spread of the infected ideas that kill our senses. Destroy the parasitic agitators, defend yourself from their parasitic thoughts. Honour the battlefield and cherish the fire". 6-panel digipak.

MARIO MARZIDOVSEK - 'Brutal Alter Minimal' LP (Dead Mind Records) - £19

Mario Marzidovsek (1961-2011) was an international mail-art networker, painter, poet, cassette culture pioneer and a key figure of the Yugoslavian underground scene. Influenced by the electroacoustic avantgarde he began to explore electronic music in the late 1970's. Like an erupting volcano he released numerous tapes between 1984 and 1987, before aborting his musical activities. Marzidovsek was truly living an industrial lifestyle as an employee of a chemical factory. His "Minimal Laboratorium", filled with homemade devices, old instruments and tape recorders, was the central part of his musical creativity. Using limited equipment forced him to be resourceful and made sure the raw punk-spirit was always present in his electronic music, slowly shifting from harsh industrial polka to lo-fi wave, ambient and barbaric techno. "Brutal Alter Minimal" is a collection of tracks from 1985, using the original master tapes. This compilation stands as a testimony to a true legend expressing his sheer creative powers. NOËL AKCHOTÉ - 'Alike Joseph' CD (Rectangle) - £11

Minimal ambient / guitar drone explorations from the French avant rock guitarist, employing improvised retuning and detuning. "Akchoté builds a grand mood by slowly setting up repeating sounds that feel big and might not consist of much - one or two notes, something behind the bridge, the tone toggle switch flipping back and forth. The mood is sustained triumphantly through the four pieces that make up this collection, but it is the first piece that has the killer groove." (Eugene Chadbourne). The first album in the 'Joseph Trilogy': "The character of Joseph is a place, a view or a position more than a speech. The physical representation of stand-by. There is no idea of progress, neither of improvement, in between the three solos. It's just time passing in front of someone's feet. NOËL AKCHOTÉ - 'Perpetual Joseph' CD (Rectangle) - £11

"Akchoté's drones maintain an interesting tension between permanence and mutability... each of the four long tracks on the CD consists of a single note - or rather, chord - which Akchoté alters over the course of time by adding or subtracting harmonics, dampening, pitch-shifting and making minute adjustments to volume. Akchoté also exercises more obvious physical control at times, either audibly flipping switches to cut or attenuate a tone, or tapping on the amplified guitar strings... Throughout, there's something quite meditative about Akchoté's approach to his material. He doesn't seem to be playing for an audience as much as conducting some sort of personal investigation into the psychological and spiritual properties of sound... it has integrity, depth and a kind of austere beauty" (BBC). NOËL AKCHOTÉ - 'Simple Joseph' CD (Rectangle) - £11

The second album in the 'Joseph Trilogy' of minimal ambient / guitar drone explorations is "...perhaps one of the best examples of a guitarist engaged in a duet with his own amplifier....each of which seems to build out of the sort of simple tone or pure feedback an amplifier practically might give you all on its own. Practically, that is, as the human factor is still needed in the sense of someone turning the machine on, and more... just the point when one begins to wonder if a human mind is still engaged in producing these nearly still-life pieces, the guitarist expertly comes up with a subtle maneuver that lets you know he is still there with all his potential warmth and imagination... the entire process turns out to be a setup for the final track, in which an acoustic guitar sound warm enough to crackle round the campfire is treated to some kind of echo treatment" (Eugene Chadbourne).

Deluxe vinyl reissue of OTWATM's highly-praised 2016 album, presented on translucent light-brown fog vinyl. This album was originally conjured for the Operation Equinox US tour 2016 and portrays a more intimate version and live feel of songs. First released by Brave Mysteries on cassette tape in the US and by Tesco Distribution in the EU. The 2 versions of the tape featured different songs. On this vinyl release all songs from the tapes have been compiled. Vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion, recording and mix by Kim Larsen (White Chamber / Les Chasseurs De La Nuit / Solanaceae / Vril Jäger). Accordion & Melodica by Niels Rønne. ZOZOBRA - 'Zozobra' LP (Màgia Roja) - £16

An iconoclast inside the Barcelona's post-industrial milieu. His artistic voice is unique; vulnerable and brutal at the same time, his subjects are, at its core, classic: love, identity, relationships. Taking musique concrète inspiration from Coil and Nurse With Wound, he samples live original sources in the most inventive ways, creating different layers which he modifies through pedals. These serve as backdrop to his lyrics where he digs deep into his most uncomfortable personal truths. Ltd x 333 hand-numbered copies.

5CD edition of the "Undead 1984-87" 6LP vinyl boxset, released 2018, now with over 40 minutes of additional material not included on the 6LP set. After years in the making, this monumental collection of Roger Karmanik's (BRIGHTER DEATH NOW) early industrial works is brought to you by a reborn Cold Meat Industry. Lille Roger was founded in 1984 and became a unique entry in Sweden at the time. Few had the guts to approach things with such morbid ardor. Over a period of four years Roger claimed his place at the throne as the juvenile delinquent king of Swedish industrial music. Working with very limited equipment he produced material that still today stands out as timeless masterworks. This solid 5CD boxset consists of rare material, material from limited cassette editions, as well as other unreleased and never heard before tracks. Ranging from low-fi tape experiments and traditional post-mortem / power electronics to minimal industrial angst pop. Dangerous music for dangerous people - the kind that laugh through your funeral service and masturbate afterwards. The time is now. Lille Roger is among the undead and remains a true legend.
