CONTORTUS - 'Reality Is Hidden For A Reason' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

The 4th album from Contortus sees the Finnish duo of Vesa-Antti Puumalainen & Pete Härmä return to the finest Finnish heavy power electronics / industrial noise. Each song presents a different soundscape of heavy synthesizers, physical sounds, aggressive vocals, and rhythmic patterns. Among contemporary power electronics, Contortus stands out with their talented craftsmanship and compositions. It is sheer vulgar violence, yet with a high dose of artistic merit. 6-panel digipak.

CONTROL - 'Algolagnia' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Originally released on Freak Animal in 2002, "Algolagnia" is the album that really set the tone for Control (Thomas Garrison). It may be hard for newcomers to travel back 20 years, and hear how advanced and unique this material was then, but the album set the standard of American power electronics / industrial to an unheard level of composition and technical know how. It is also such a unique sound, that you will recognise it as Control within seconds. An essential reissue. Digipak.

CONTROL - 'World Of Lies' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Originally released on Freak Animal in 2006, "World Of Lies" intentionally breaks the Control template... of course not completely abandoning his style, but it is a bit noisier, a bit less complex, more harsh and direct, with a more upfront mix of vocals. This album captures the aggression witnessed in live settings. One of Control's most aggressive and fierce albums is finally available once again! Digipak.

DECONDITION - 'Not Even The Universe Remains' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Decondition return to Freak Animal, who released their debut album back in 2007. The years in between have seen them release very occasionally on other labels (such as Force Majeur), but they have kept a low profile. Lately Decondition appeared on Terässinfonia compilation series and this new full length CD marks the project's return on physical CD format. In contrast to his more well-known Power Noise / Industrial approach, here we have two long electronic drone-noise pieces. Icily cold and sharp. Digipak.

What begins as a warning of a love close to loss in the heat of an argument's cool-off, slowly weaves into sets of textures which are unrelentingly haunting and beautiful. GIANLUCA FAVARON & STEFANO GENTILE & CARL MICHAEL VON HAUSSWOLFF & ROD MODELL - 'Landslide (For Field Recordings And Sine Waves)' 2 x LP (13 / Silentes) - £34

On October 9, 1963, 260 million cubic meters of rock broke off from the top of Monte Toc. It fell into the reservoir of the Vajont dam, producing an enormous wave of at least 50 million cubic meters of water. Flooding destroyed several villages in the valley and killed almost 2,000 people. In some ways, it is as if the landslide swept away the past and the future of an entire community. An apocalypse lasting just a few minutes left scars and stigmata for decades to follow. Movement and accumulation are two keywords that guided the search for the sounds hidden in the silence. The landscape reveals reverberations of its past... the movements of downward sliding, crystallized substances, and ghosts of its previous inhabitants, frozen in time. The original version of "Landslide", and the C. M. Von Hausswolf version, re-construct nature in a unique and unusual way, sewn with the smallest amount of sonic fabric. An intangible interpretation with impulses that trigger feelings of the fall, the movement of land, expressed with a new code of sound. Mixed together, overlapped, collided, reaccumulated, and merged together again. Sounds of the valley at night, layered with psychotropic drones and other hovering noises. GRUNT - 'Hehku' CD (Institute Of Paraphilia Studies / Freak Animal) - £15

The brand new album from Grunt is almost entirely made up of purely instrumental harsh noise pieces. From cut-up to massive chaotic metal-junk orgies, to forceful throbbing of feedback dominated electronics hammering, "Hehku" is compositionally and sonically different from the recent "Kraniometria" 3" CD, but far more towards that direction than the song-oriented previous full-length albums. Some spoken word pieces and screams also appear throughout. Packaged in DVD-sized hard cardboard folder with booklet, all NSFW covers have been individually handmade, making each copy unique.

HUMAN LARVAE - 'Pure Sex' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Active since 2005, Human Larvae has made his mark in mixing multiple industrial sub-genres to his own twisted, doom-laden mix of gloomy power-electronics. An obsessive journey through collapsing human relations and spiritual downfalls culminating in an abrasive soundtrack towards a destination unknown. Following the previous full-length album "Behind Blinding Light" (2016, Freak Animal / Malignant Records) and a slew of limited tape releases, "Pure Sex" sees the welcome return of the one-man outfit of Daniel Burfoot (Broken Diode) on CD-proper. On this album, we get both the composition and creative variety of former albums, but also the dirt and fierce angle heard on those smaller edition tapes. 8-panel digipak.

JOEL GILARDINI & PAOLO BANDERA - 'Jenseit Der Anerkennung' CD (St.An.Da / Silentes) - £12

Following many previous encounters, Joel Gilardini (The Land of Snow, Mulo Muto, Psychic Drones with KK Null) and Paolo Bandera (Sigillum S, Sshe Retina Stimulants, Iugula-Thor, Ensemble Sacrés Garçons and more) get back together for a very different new project released under their own names: "Jenseits Der Anerkennung". An isolationist exercise in sonic psychogeography, the album takes a series of Berlin-inspired images as objective reference and drives through them metaphorically, to then overload their coordinates with endless layers of atmospheric electronics, piercing guitar tones and bizarre space configurations. The final result is unique in density and conceptually stark... A very peculiar entry in the rich history of its authors. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak.

KOVANA - 'Club Catharsis' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Finnish duo KOVANA present their debut CD album proper after a handful of hard-to-find releases and splits with the likes of Aprapat and Circle Of Sh*t. This is a fresh take on the industrial noise / power electronics genres, with punishing rhythmic sounds and female vocals. Loud and crisp. Harsh music for a harsh realities and harsh fantasies. 6-panel digipak with tasty graphics.

KRCFHL (KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK + CISFINITUM + HLADNA) - 'KRCFHL' 2 x CD (KultFront / Zhelezobeton) - £14

"KRCFHL" was made on 28th September 2005 by the musicians of the projects Kryptogen Rundfunk, Cisfinitum and Hladna in the studio of Evgeniy Voronovskiy (Cisfinitum) in Moscow, right before the performance at the Our Baikonur mini-festival. Armed with analogue drum-machines, synthesizers and an electric violin with effect processors, this spontaneous trio delved into researching the present moment, moving along the rhythmic soundscapes filled both with emotional cosmic reveries and noisy psychedelic visions. The original material is now released for the first time, with four projects presenting remixes on the second disc - Notum, bezvlastje, Svetlo111 and Symphocat - unique visions expanding the sound palette of the 87 minutes. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold digisleeve, embellished with the photos of old St. Petersburg walls.

MUSLIMGAUZE - 'Emak Bakia' CD (Other Voices Records) - £13

"Emak Bakia" is a long out of print Muslimgauze masterpiece from 1994 (Concrete Productions). Even in the huge discography of the late Bryn Jones, "Emak Bakia" really stands out of albums from the period due its rather unique (acid house related) sound and short (by the standards of Muslimgauze) tracks. Like a cross-mix between Psychic TV (circa "Towards Thee Infinite Beat") and Muslimgauze's trademark percussion and ethno-ambient sound. 40 mins. Recorded at RMB Studios, London. Second edition. MUSLIMGAUZE - 'Farouk Enjineer' CD (Other Voices Records) - £13

Originally released in 1997 through Soleilmoon Recordings, this is extremely intense "Arabic dub noise music", designed to blow minds and loudspeakers. Out of print since 2003, this remastered reissue also corrects the erroneous tracklisting on the original edition. A solid example of Muslimgauze's power noise phase, "Farouk Enjineer" is reminiscent at times of Esplendor Geometrico, interspersed with atmospheric pieces, with a short homage to his dance period à la "Lahore & Marseilles". Ltd x 500 copies in an outsized gatefold mini-LP sleeve with stunning new artwork.

O YUKI CONJUGATE - 'Equator' CD (Other Voices Records) - £13

Reissue of the 1995 album by British post-industrial / ambient group O Yuki Conjugate, originally released by Staalplaat. Coming four years after their lauded "Peyote" album, "Equator" made use of the emergent technology of the early 90's, making it one of the first albums to be mixed with digital equipment, weaving together a blend of studio, live and location recordings to create their own deeply immersive, enveloping soundscapes. Brooding atmospheres unfold underneath a wide range of ethnic percussion and deep, meditative basslines - existing in a unique cross-section of Hassell-inspired 4th world mystery, Industrial landscapes, and the rich middle-eastern projections pioneered by Muslimgauze. It's a deeply hypnotic work that joins the dots between the late 80's industrial scene and the smoked-out chill-out rooms of the '90s. This expanded edition features an additional 30 minutes of material, together with glorious new artwork from artist and actor Frederick Schimmelschmidt. ORGHANON - 'Droneworks I-V' CD (St.An.Da / Silentes) - £12

A collection of five long beatless soundscapes, composed with the purpose of inducing hypnotic and meditative states. Healing music, aiming to calm the mind from the background noise of our chaotic reality. ORGHANON is the solo venture of Sergio Calzoni (Alma Mater, Act Noir, Colloquio, ILUITEQ). With ORGHANON, he blends melancholy with silence, depicting stark yet deeply emotional soundtracks for imaginary places. The praised debut album "Figures in Slow Motion" (2015, Eibon Records), was followed by a soundtrack for the theatre performance "F_rankenstein", a revamped version of the Frankenstein myth produced by the acting company Officina Teatrale A_ctuar. This album is the first since the 2017 album "Retrospectre" (Time Released Sound) and for the first time features contributions with several guest musicians, performing violin, viola, cello, harp and clarinet. ROSE ROVINE E AMANTI - 'Sogni, Visioni E Premonizioni' CD (Corvus Records) - £12

The fifth studio album from Italy's Rose Rovine E Amanti, titled "Sogni, Visioni E Premonizioni" (Dreams, Visions and Premonitions), features 12 new songs that blend epic romanticism with neofolk, power rock and medieval influences in the group's own unique style. Deeply inspired by Vladimir Soloviev's short-story "Tale Of The Antichrist" (1900), and others' mystical visions, it is the band's most apocalyptic album to date. Features guest appearances from Andrew King (ex-Sol Invictus), Arthur Rosar (ex-Abigor), and Angelina Sapareska (Angelie). Comes in a digipak with a special lyric booklet, with notes for each song.

SHRINE & MYTRIP - 'Descent' 7" (Corvus Records) - £8

A two-track collaboration between two key Bulgarian ambient acts: Shrine and Mytrip. Sharing a passion for loud and textural ambient sounds, they delved deeper into organic sounds and looping tonal layers, which are intertwined with sparse industrial soundscapes. This brief musical offering successfully showcases both artists' signature takes on ambient. The heavyweight sound production, courtesy of Shrine, makes "Descent" a memorable experience, certainly worthy of the vinyl treatment. Ltd x 250 copies in a gatefold sleeve.

UHUSHUHU - 'Geoscience (Vol. 1 + Vol. 2)' 2 x CD (Nebosvod / Zhelezobeton) - £14

The third studio album by the St. Petersburg-based group Uhushuhu, "Geoscience", continues the line of the two previous works: "Long Songs Pleasant For Hearing" and "Onega", namely long spatial tapestries filled with lots of electronic and organic events drifting on a leisurely contemplative wave. One can listen to this music endlessly; it seems to be created of several layers of semi-transparent mirrors reflecting everything that comes in the field of the musicians' imagination: smooth synthetic pads, singing birds, radio waves and a heavenly female voice, lurking whispers, instrumental loops, field recordings and various found sounds. All this creates a complex electroacoustic image, surely pleasant to connoisseurs of the ambient genre. Originally a digital-only release in 2015, this 2022 reissue comes with a second disc containing three previously unreleased compositions and the tape version of the long "Underwater" song (17 mins). Uhushuhu is a project led by Pavel Dombrovskiy, a musician and graphic designer from St. Petersburg. "Long Songs Pleasant For Hearing" was the project's debut work. "Following these songs, we set off on a journey through structures and surfaces in a shell of experimental drone ambient. We will face sonic anomalies, random wanderings in unstable and unpredictable spheres, vague rustles and semblant echoes, spaces of various densities, moods and origins, hidden dead-ends, spontaneous phonations and labyrinths enclosed in themselves". Originally a digital-only release in 2014, this 2022 reissue comes with a second disc containing three previously unreleased compositions with a total duration of 47 minutes. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold matte digisleeve with new design by Lilia Akivenson.

UHUSHUHU - 'Onega (Vol. 1 + Vol. 2)' 2 x CD (Nebosvod / Zhelezobeton) - £14

"Onega" was Uhushuhu's second album, originally released by Pantheophania in early 2015 and later re-released in 2015 on cassette with a remix by Creation VI and an alternative version of the material by Uhushuhu themselves. Archaically natural, truly psychoactive drone, woven from hundreds of sounds that appear and disappear. Thick as a pre-dawn haze, haunted by the spirits of the forest and river nymphs. Flowing under the water like a transparent fog, descending deep to the smallest of shells on the muddy bottom of an ancient lake. Ripples on the liquid surface, stones dancing in the dark, tales of mosses and their inhabitants, the lightness of dew, the dizzying helicity of snails... Originally released in a tiny edition of 33 copies on CDR in 2015, this 2022 reissue comes with a second disc containing two bonus tracks from the cassette version along with one previously unreleased 26-minute composition. More than a cult filmmaker, a true legend of the contemporary cinema, David Cronenberg has inspired an unimaginable number of artists all over the world and in every field of the artistic expressions. His signature is a mix of graphic sex and violence broadly known as "body horror". His early works exploited special effects to provoke audiences with bugs and parasites invading the body, exploding heads and images of genitalia intersecting violently with technology. His later films became more introspective and existential, often drawing upon Freudian theory and literary sources to consider the relationship between body, mind and technology. Cronenberg approaches the human condition through the unconscious and physical processes of the thinking animal, with an extreme existentialism that celebrates the body (in all its disgusting glory) while admitting the horror of the individual consciousness trapped within ever decaying flesh. BASTARD NOISE - 'Bastard Noise Hails The Finnish Sound Masters / The Symptoms Of A Failing Equilibrium' CD (Freak Animal) - £11.50

Early Man Is The Bastard / Bastard Noise was well known for his passion and support of Finnish noise. Before anyone acknowledged the new era of the Finnish noise scene emerging in the 90's, USA's MITB/Bastard Noise support for the artists was crucial to introduce the names to global audience. One of the most remarkable collaborations of BN & Finnish noise art was the 1999 CD album "Bastard Noise Hails The Finnish Sound Masters / The Symptoms Of A Failing Equilibrium" (Freak Animal). In 2021, this album being over two decades old, still sounds fresh and interesting. High pitched doomdays electronic machines of Bastard Noise are combined with raw sounds submitted by Grunt, Bizarre Uproar, Skin-Graft, Woundead, Order., Junkdrome, and All-Out. Each artist submitted a different type of material to work with, yet it sounds like proper album rather than fragmented compilation. Reissued without remastering or editing and presented in a digipak using the original cover designs.

MUSLIMGAUZE - 'Uzi' CD (Other Voices Records / Kontakt Audio) - £13

Muslimgauze's gem from 1989, originally released by Parade Amoureuse. Cinematic, minimal, noisy, hypnotic, and gloomy. Probably not so overtly Middle Eastern as his later works, though definitely bearing an influence. Backed by electric drones, percussion forms a living, breathing atmosphere of impending menace. This album was not included in VOD's "Chasing The Shadow Of Bryn Jones" 10LP boxset, making this a great artefact for collectors and the curious alike. Remastered and presented on CD for the first time since its original release. Ltd x 300 copies in a reverse board mini-LP sleeve, with printed inner sleeve and a fold-out poster insert.
