We'e excited to release - for the first time ever on any format - the soundtrack to DEREK JARMAN's rarely seen 1984 film, with specially-commissioned music by GENESIS P-ORRIDGE & DAVE BALL. The film itself has only ever been shown a handful of times since it was made 38 years ago, and the soundtrack has quite the story, as beautifully told in the liner notes by James Mackay.

ARE MUNDAL - 'Interloper & Nocturnal Perambulation Remastered' 2 x CD (Telesterion Records) - £13.50

Reissue of two LPs from Are Mundal: "Interloper" (2021) and "Nocturnal Perambulation" (2020). Dark atmospheric Ambient / Darkwave / Experimental music from Norway's Are Mundal, who has written songs for albums such as Enslaved's "Isa" and Immortal's "All Shall Fall", but who is probably best known for his photography of Fantoft stave church on the day it burnt down in 1992. "Dedicated to the fight against christianity, religion in general, and all destructive ideologies". Both albums were originally limited to 100 copies each and are now reissued as one collective double CD set. Also includes a bonus track from the "Nocturnal Discombobulation" 7". Remastered by Lazerus Winter. Comes with 2 artcards.

AUTUMN TEARS / ZERESH - 'Widowing / Possessing' CD (Dark Symphonies / Dark Descent Records) - £12

A split album from Neoclassical act AUTUMN TEARS and Dark Folk act ZERESH, featuring all-new tracks addressing loss and obsession. The seven AUTUMN TEARS compositions, under the banner of 'Widowing', feature a rich ensemble of musicians, joining them on piano, violin, viola, cello, oboe, trombone, trumpet, flute, piccolo, harp, hammered dulcimer, French horn, and choir / vocals, making for a truly orchestral-driven Neoclassical work. ZERESH is back with her own brand of dark folk over the six tracks encapsulated under 'Possessing'. Ethereal vocalist Tamar Singe invited some of her favorite musicians to participate, from acts such as: Déhà, Darkwood, Kali Nanda, Subterranean Masquerade, Kadaver, and Necromishka, taking themes from Shakespeare's sonnets and the poetry of John Clare. Mastered by Peter Bjärgä (Arcana). As a nice touch, the release features a choice of 2 covers in the form of a separate mini fold-out lyric poster for each band. Ethereal Darkwave / Neoclassical / Dark Ambient act Day Before Us mark their 10-year anniversary with a significant new album, casting elegant solitary hymns and shedding an unconventional Gothic inspired mood. "As My Spirit Wanders Free" is a meticulously blended release which gives a large space to contemplative tones, to poignant melodic phrases and to a thick cloud of emotional meandering textures. The message behind the album explores existential themes such as soul stirring fragility, blurred, fractured memories and the mystical natural world. ERIK BARON | D-Z AKØRD - '58'' CD (ADN) - £12

"58' was composed in 2010 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of d-zAkord. I wanted a very minimalist piece with few sound events and long silences. At that time we presented t'Drone(s)Scape', a sound/living installation lasting 3 hours. The public was invited to sit or lie down in the center of the sonic maelstrom for a multicast travel. It is in this context that 58' was imagined. Although unconventional, the 58' score is extremely precise. The musicians follow a graphic score, with time passing and indications of their interventions. The orchestra is directed by a chronometer, it is visible by all the musicians and by the public. Visual and aesthetic, this chronometer is projected in large format (3m x 3m) on two or three walls, it adds its share of mystery to the soundscapes... the notion of felt time is modified by the rhythm's very slow drones.... music that makes you lose track of time". Digipak.

FABIO ORSI & TEZ - 'OT/TO' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

A collaboration between FABIO ORSI and the Italian interdisciplinary artist and independent researcher MAURIZIO MARTINUCCI (aka TeZ), mostly known for his collaboration with ADI NEWTON in CLOCK DVA. Together they have created a work as dense as it is intense, with cosmic traits that are aptly depicted in the images featured on the artwork. A work in which the experience of its two authors reaches a unique climax where you can only let yourself loose without placing any limits on your senses. A creative partnership, devoted to the alchemy of electronic weavings that pulse, dig, transform, dare, reinvent. We find ourselves in the presence of two veterans of avant-garde experimentation and ambient noise that drive out hidden horizons by intercepting them in the space-time folds of the sound dimension. Deeply immersive electronic patterns, field recordings and variable frequency drones. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with printed vellum cover.

HIEMIS - 'La Chose' CD (Gradual Hate Records) - £10.50

"Sound magic, crystalline sparkles, and the omnipresence of the sacred" (Lux Atenea). The new work by neoclassical / ritual dark ambient act HIEMIS proposes an initiation; a transcendental journey through soundscapes. A collective experience of "the invisible" comparable to that of Martines de Pasqually and her disciples when they researched "La Chose". Pasqually was one of the most enigmatic characters of the 18th century, creating the Order of the Elus Cohens - heir to mystical sects of antiquity and the Neo-Alexandrian period, with special influence on its ritual by occult masters of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. La Chose performed mysterious actions, produced by strange beings and of a different essence from that of terrestrial beings. These beings gave speeches and transmitted deep knowledge during rituals. For the Elus Cohens, true faith is based on pre-natural facts and it is necessary to generate them in the Chamber of Operations through complex and strict ritual: a high practice of Sacred Science. K2 - 'Lost Land Of Chiba' CD (Abhorrent Creation Tapes) - £11.50

In your face blasts and piercing modular electronics from the harsh noise legend. K2's brillant new studio album of pure Japanese Noise offers almost an hour of uncompromising sounds made up of 3 lengthy tracks. Active since 1983, K2 is the personal noise project of Kimihide Kusafuka, who has been making numerous noise works in distinct phases. The current "Phase 3" (2005-present) is focused on mixer feedback noises and electro-core / modular synth work and this album is no exception! The motif of album is the devastating typhoon which hit east Japan in 2019. Ltd x 500 copies.

LA STPO - 'Romanciel' CD (ADN) - £12

A unique Avant-Rock / 'surrealist attack' performance group from Rennes, La STPO (La Société des Timides à la Parade des Oiseaux / The Shy Society At The Bird Parade), was founded in 1984. Of the five current members, three have been within the band since its beginning: Pascal Godjikian (vocals), JimB (guitar), Patrice Babin (drums, percussion). Christophe Gautheur (keyboards, sax, clarinet) joined five years later. Sébastien Desloges (bass, violin) has been in the group since 2011. "Romanciel", the tenth album of the band, contains 4 tracks (52 minutes). It is a collage of different "moments" of a book, as if you were flipping through it and opening it at random; each chapter has its own atmosphere. Even the cover page and the table of contents are evoked and translated sonically. Digipak.

LAURENT PERNICE & DOMINIQUE BEVEN - 'Le Corps Utopique' CD (ADN) - £12

The Original Soundtrack of the choreographic play by Emma Gustafsson and Laurent Hatat - Anima Motrix. These are truly original pieces, very personal, closer to contemporary and improvised music than to the renowned ethnic / industrial collages of Laurent Pernice (Nox). The recordings began in autumn 2019 in Pernice's studio. Dominique Beven improvised a series of tunes, under the direction of the composer, during three different sessions distributed over time. The sound recordings were then rearranged, mixed and electronically manipulated by Laurent Pernice to produce the final pieces to be submitted to Anima Motrix Company. "Le Corps Utopique" is Laurent Pernice's 18th album. All the sessions recorded by Laurent Pernice and Dominique Beven have been gathered on this album. Digipak.

LIKE THE SNOW - 'As Leaves Fall' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £12

"Gathering its most vivid elements, and drawing inspiration from the most emotionally touching mixtures of electronic synthesizers, driving rhythms - always 'clever' and sober - and melodic para-ambient offshoots, Like The Snow (Luca Mazzariol) creates an album with almost 'epic' connotations, for its ability to involve and for the intensity of the emotions it is able to convey. At times sweetly melancholic and introspective, at times 'charged' with irresistible dynamic energy, but always 'measured' and refined in its form, sound and solutions, this new release by Like The Snow goes far beyond the previous album published in 2020, touching heights that rarely musical projects of a similar genre have been able to reach". MARIO LINO STANCATI - 'Vairagya' CD (Unexplained Sounds) - £12

"Vairagya" is Mario Lino Stancati's is second album for the Unexplained Sounds Group, following 2020's "Cross The Desert". An innovator of sound textures, Stancati is a multifaceted musician. Explore the dark minimalism of "Vairagya", along with bright openings and rhythmic progressions. Like faces of a prism, the refraction of the musician's intimate universe slowly leads us into the artist's subconscious, the den of aesthetic isolation, a poetic expression through the electronic flow of his subliminal creations, and an introduction to a new era of experimentation. MASCHE - 'Oxia Chaos' CD (ADN) - £12

Masche is an Italian collective that offers Experimental and Free Jazz music with references to Electronic music, Prog and Improvisation. Long-lasting tracks and complex plots are the main ingredients of their sound, full of ideas and creative insights. "Oxia Chaos" consists of 4 elements creating complex and articulated sounds with long intricate instrumental sections. Each of the artists involved brings their own creative and executive contribution to the band's sound, offering technical insights and high-level virtuosity. A complicated and perhaps "difficult" album, it album reveals all its beauty and the technique of the artists involved on careful listening. The electronic inserts give a modern touch to the sound, which complicated and intricate but of fine workmanship. The vocals are also dynamic and adapt well to the music, offering original experiments. Fresh and individual. 6-panel digipak.

MASSIMO GIUNTOLI - 'F.I.T.' CD (ADN) - £12

"Massimo Giuntoli continues his path of exploration of the controversial relationship between text and music, coming through to "F.I.T." (Found in Translation) to an improbable universal language that makes fun of borders on earth traced by the most evolved species of our planet and of the concept of "foreigner" that is deeply rooted in the contemporary man's society. Esoteric music with a minimal touch of conceptualization. Behind the elusive Molkayan language (and culture) Massimo breaks conventions and creates short circuits for listeners who try to give a meaning to words that don't have any, creating stories in order to interpret words and music. Probably the most accessible work of Giuntoli, his voice acts like an instrument that evokes all kinds of emotions, sustained by a musical texture similar to a schizophrenic Philip Glass born in Canterbury. MATTEO UGGERI & MOURNING DOVE - 'Does The Moon Not Dream' CD (ADN) - £12

Three years after its conception, this album from Washington's Elena Botts (Mourning Dove) and Milan's Matteo Uggeri (Sparkle In Grey) is finally released. Elena's works are primarily built on her voice and poems, while Matteo's are usually instrumental releases in the field of modern classical / experimental music. This joint album was made in an extremely spontaneous way, sending files across the Atlantic ocean: Elena recorded a set of spoken poems and three sung pieces, often outdoor, walking in streets and fields, and Matteo arranged them all grabbing mostly acoustic sounds often provided by his long time collaborators. Due to the strong and at the same time delicate timbre of Elena's voice, in spite of the relatively wide set of instruments (cello, electric guitar, trombone, trumpet, piano, violin and bass), the album sounds minimal and rarefied, as a long gentle suite of sparse notes and occasional rhythms driven by female vocal chords. NIMH - 'Iron And Ice' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £12

After a good six years from Nimh's last solo CD of previously unreleased material (Circles of the Vain Prayers), and two years after his previous collaborative CD (Post-Folk Lore Vol.1), Giuseppe Verticchio (Twist of Fate, Hall of Mirrors, Maribor, We Promise To Betray) is back, walking again on those same electronic paths strongly imbued with ethnic ritual suggestions and sonorities. The sound of string and wind instruments, metals and percussion instruments coming mainly from South-East Asian countries, combined with refined electronic textures, voices, field recordings and obscure environmental substrates, describes an adventurous and multicoloured intercontinental journey, crossing geographical and stylistic borders, taking the long rigorous experimental research undertaken by the well-known Italian artist since more than twenty years ago even further. OPPAT - 'A New World / Dark Years' CD (ADN) - £12

A New World and Dark Years are two different projects by OppaT (Luciano Margorani of LA1919, Beauty is in the Distance, Fracture, and Artchipel Orchestra). A New World explores all the lacks of our agonizing world, remembering all our society didn't develop with intensity through the years and centuries: equity, tolerance, truth, solidarity, justice, hope and universalism - virtues that could bring a better New World. The music is generated by a manipulated, stretched acoustic guitar... an important electronic flow and orchestral sound that wraps your head during its 38 minutes. Dark Years has the same conceptual basis but here the music is developed from sampled sounds; an electronic contemporary symphony generated by a more pessimistic mood. A long CD that invites you to explore another side of this eclectic musician. "May I call this process my own kind of Plunderphonics". Digipak.

RICHARD B. LEWIS - 'The Blue Horizon' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £12

Third work for Richard B. Lewis, who, with "The Blue Horizon", takes us on a journey through the whirlpools of mental disorder that blur the unreachable blue horizon like a thick fog. Sounds that penetrate inside and leave you naked in a bond between nature and dream. Drones and noises that keep you suspended in an oppressive limbo but let you see the light... You can't touch it, but it seems to be there waiting to welcome you. With "The Blue Horizon", Richard B. Lewis makes a big leap in quality and substance. ROSSO POLARE - 'Cani Lenti' CD (ADN) - £12

Italian duo Rosso Polare's 2nd album "Cani Lenti" is a collection of duels. As the two minds of Cesare Lopopolo and Anna Vezzosi converge, a dichotomy of harmonious and contrasting sounds ebb, swirl and clatter in and amongst themselves. Using techniques from call and response improvisation, tape manipulation, experimental music and free-form folk, their approach to music making feels both atypical and familiar, organised and free-flowing, rooted and landless. Rosso Polare's music feels grounded in the earth, but spreads in strange and often anachronistic ways. The duo describe this album as a struggle, a skirmish, that strives to resemble filmic sonorisations and forgotten sounds. Together they lead us on a journey into the depths of Chthonian Music. SILICON RELIC - 'E.B.A.N.I. Drones' CD (Gradual Hate Records) - £11.50

Silicon Relic is a new Italian industrial drone / dark-ambient project, which aims to describe and portray in music the remains and parodies of the sacred and the spirit in the age of disenchantment. Within the adaptive UFO phenomenon and manifestations, E.B.A.N.I. are defined a whole series of aerial phenomena, which present characteristics that can be compared in appearance to living beings, in form as well as in movements. "E.B.A.N.I. Drones" is the sound transposition of these celestial apparitions, beyond any will of interpretation of the phenomenon or easy cataloging. A dreamlike and surreal journey between sidereal anxieties and apocalyptic suggestions, in the contemplation of these new angelic legions made of luminous tubular structures and floating liquid metal. IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - 'Psicofonias - Las Voces Desconocidas' CD (Gradual Hate Records) - £13

In 2008 the documentary "Psicofonías: Las Voces Desconocidas" was shot by the film director Jose Moral. The film is based around the voices of dead people, where echoes of spirits leave us some footprint after death. For a long time, humankind has believed that it is possible to communicate with dead people. Over the years, seances, mediums and psychics have been possible instruments to make contact with the afterlife. So, EVP is a spiritual footprint and a communication link to the soundtrack in this documentary. This project features one of the most important projects of the Dark Ambient Industrial scene: In Slaughter Natives - a pioneer in the symphonic industrial field. Jouni Havukainen has created an outstanding and deep work full of aspects where, in some parts, we can listen the voices of dead people. 2nd edition with new artwork. Digipak.

WINTERSILENCE - 'Transmission Fields' 2 x CD (Amplexus) - £12

A surprising and ambitious trip from ambient to cosmic paths from Wintersilence - a project established in the late 1990s by Mathias Grassow (here under the alias of Tyler Whitney), Scaai, and Don Castellano. This work has various influences, but all titles have something in common; they all seem to suggest an evocative attitude. Mysterious vocals, acoustic / ethno-ambient sounds, epic post-rock structures with Nordic sensations. Rhythms and melodies cross themselves in a mixture of savage screams, primitive emotions and futuristic effects. A really beautiful piece of work encased in a lush double-digipak with photography and artwork by Stefano Gentile, really doing the release justice. Ltd x 1000 copies.
