THE NEW BLOCKADERS / GRINDER-WITHOUT-ORGANS / THE THEATRICAL PANOPTICON Present: 'The Stage As Antiworld'
2CD £13 Adv - OUT 21st JUNE

  Bandcamp   Download   YouTube   YouTube

This double CD set includes an extended collaboration between The New Blockaders & Grinder-without-Organs, and two live recordings of anti-theatre premiered at Cafe OTO (London, UK) and Audio Foundation (Auckland, NZ). The set also includes a link to access a bonus film and extra, printable material.

CD1 features 'Ein Glücklicherer Zufall: Genau Zu Lang (A Happier Accident: Exactly Too Long)', an hour-long, part studio / part live collaboration between seminal anti-music stalwarts The New Blockaders, and purveyors of the absurd Grinder-without-Organs. 'Ein Glücklicherer Zufall...' shows a different side to TNB's trademark obliterating noise offensives with a more collaged, musique concrète approach and includes a pre-Cafe OTO TNB & G-w-O show soliloquy.

CD2 includes G-w-O live at London's Cafe OTO, "Showcasing a singer who has no voice, musicians who have no instruments, and a bandleader who has no direction".

CD2 concludes with The Theatrical Panopticon, "A stage play performed inside a void and infected with accidental somniloquies".

Fans of Noise music will need no introduction to the work of TNB. Ron Lessard, of legendary US Noise label RRRecords, once stated, "I'd give the nod to TNB as being the first truly devoted Noise artists". TNB served as a major influence on legendary Noise pioneers such as Merzbow and their influence on the current crop of popular crossover Noise artists such as Wolf Eyes is immeasurable.

Double CD in a 6-panel matt digipak with 8-page booklet featuring TNB and G-w-O artworks.
COIL / NINE INCH NAILS - 'Recoiled'
Ltd LP 'Solid Bone White' £22 | LP Black £19 | T-Shirt £17.50
- OUT 14th JUNE

Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud

"Recoiled" is a rambunctious alchemy, of magikal COIL sensibilities and hi-tech home circa 90's mixing technique, all fused in the cave-like early studios of Danny Hyde / Peter Christopherson.

These were the unrestrained PRE- BIG studio- mix downs, of four songs which long time Coil admirer / collaborator Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) requested Coil to remix. Reznor sent over the original multi-tracks and DATs to Hyde / Christopherson, who independently mixed versions and then met to synch both creations, molding them into these master versions.

”Recoiled” includes a fuller, more opulent version of the track 'Closer', which eventually made it onto the opening credits to the movie "SE7EN". These 5 lengthy compositions are pre-Ableton / laptop generation type priest song creations, with the use of baby alarms and numerous wires to create bespoke effects.

These legendary tracks were always rumoured to exist and, only the due diligence of a dedicated NIN forum who hunted them down, are released/unleashed for your listening pleasure. 4 of the tracks were released on the download-only "Uncoiled". A bonus, previously unheard track from the same sessions closes the album. Jhonn Balance is also manifest on this gilded constellation. Beautifully remastered.

TENHORNEDBEAST - 'Capra Hircus'
CD £11.50 - OUT NOW!

Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download  YouTube  YouTube  YouTube

Cold Spring is proud to present the brand new album from TenHornedBeast - the ritual drone project of Christopher Walton (Endvra).

The wild goats (Capra Hircus) of the Cheviot hills have lived there for millennia and are the Avatars of the wild places. If there is a heathenry left on this island, it is to be found at the places where the wild goats gather, in the secret valleys and alongside nameless burns. They are the Children of Pan in an Arcadia that straddles both the imagination and the real world.

This is TenHornedBeast intentionally moving in a different direction from the cryptic doom-ambient of 2022's "The Lamp Of No Light". "Capra Hircus" is full of the glowing sunrise of hill-top psychedelia and shimmering, spiralling drones that mimic the abstract lines of the rock-art panels that mark the landscape. The music flows outwards and immerses the listener in looping, hypnotic waves of feedback.

"I dream in landscapes and this is very much an "outdoor" album. When I was recording these pieces I was hoping to capture the openness and sense of wonder that I get from the high places. I've walked these hills for many years, where earth and sky meet and I was searching for a new way to be TenHornedBeast, although it's very much the same ideas that inspired me twenty years ago - just seen in colour".

CD in 6-panel flood-printed matt digipak with photographs taken by Christopher Walton on the High Places of Pennine Horeb.

Cold Spring is proud to present a unique collaboration between Industrial Breakbeat pioneers MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO (Jack Dangers) and the undisputed king of Japanese noise, MERZBOW (Masami Akita).

"Extinct" sees the duo take listeners on a transcendental journey, focusing on the dismantling of beat and structure and recycling the result through layers of beautifully crafted noise and feedback loops, giving birth to new rhythms.

A harrowing yet somewhat cathartic trip through walls of harsh industrial noise and audio degradation. A masterclass in sonic anarchy.

Step into the shadows of ancient mysticism as Llyn Y Cwn, the maestro of Welsh dark ambient, unveils the mesmerising odyssey that is "Megaliths".

A profound exploration of the sacred resonance embedded within stone circles. Years of field recordings from the silent and enigmatic monuments that stand as timeless witnesses to the ebb and flow of existence; where the veil between our world and the eternal realm becomes tantalisingly thin.

A ritual, a sonic séance that beckons listeners to commune with the ancient energies that saturate these sacred circles - an atmospheric descent into the heart of mysterious realms, where the boundaries between the earthly and the spiritual blur into an indistinguishable, haunting atmosphere. A journey from darkness to light, from the dead to the living, and from the grave to the sky.

Presented in a 6-panel flood-printed digipak with breathtaking photography by the artist.

Japanese doom metal band, with immensely downtuned guitar and crushingly slow bass, shrouded under deep layers of feedback.

Though the first two tracks were created using the same field recordings / source material as the 2018 multi-speed vinyl "Felicific Algorithim", the tracks have been carefully reworked into a much darker sound. The new track titles 'Felicific Algiorithm' and 'Felicific Aligorithm' reflect this.

The 27-min track 'Mushikeras' was recorded 2022-23 as a four-piece line-up of Kaz Mike, Rie Lambdoll, Mark Y., and Chew. A self-released digital-only track in autumn '23, this is the first physical manifestation of this doom metal behemoth, full of loud sludge, funeral dirge, haunting whispers / howling harsh vocals, and atmospheric build-ups.

6-panel flood-printed digipak.

ARKHAETH - 'Profound Lore Of The Ashen Specters' CD (Zazen Sounds) - £12

Previously recording as Mørknatt, Kzanhagr and Kunstdood rebirthed the project as Arkhaeth (Among Rotten Keys Hidden At Eternal Thought Hills) in 2021, with members of Beyond Deaths Throne, Necroracle, Cauldron, Cvltist and other related projects. A Black Metal album comprised of seven tracks (44 mins) of powerful wrath and pure melancholic essence. "Profound Lore Of The Ashen Specters" was inspired in the Luciferian ethos and leaning intellectual and spiritual left hand path doctrines. Serving as the lore written in old forgotten ashen scriptures that lead to illumination of the self and enacting as a road map into the fierce path to attain the final knowledge of the overman. Presented in an 8-panel digisleeve. Already sold out from the label. ACT FAST!
ATRAX MORGUE - 'Negative Frequencies ' LP (Urashima) - £24

Honouring Italian Death Industrial legend Atrax Morgue's enduring impact on the avant-garde music landscape, this reissue commemorates one of the final artistic beacons before Marco Corbelli's untimely departure. Originally released on limited CDR in February 2006 (150 copies, Slaughter Productions), "Negative Frequencies" encapsulates the disease and bleak essence for which Atrax Morgue is renowned; an unwavering dedication to the exploration of the death. Atmospheric, repetitive, and haunting textures intertwine to create a uniquely evocative auditory experience. Corbelli, through his meticulous approach, manipulates synths and analogue tape to craft a sonic landscape that invites introspection into the darker recesses of the human psyche. Shortly after the album's original release, Corbelli took his own life, rendering this work one of the last tangible echoes of his creative brilliance. This seminal work is now reissued for the first time on vinyl and features a cover image sourced from the "Atlante di Medicina Legale" by W. Weimann and O. Prokop. Ltd x 199 copies including an A3 folded booklet, containing the original notes and drawings by the talented Marco Corbelli from the CD edition, enriched with a collection of new annotations and previously unreleased photographs provided by Andrea Marutti (who also remastered this edition).
BASS COMMUNION - 'The Itself Of Itself' CD (Lumberton Trading Company) - £13.50

"The Itself Of Itself" is Bass Communion's first album for 12 years. Long established as a purveyor of mostly atmospheric or ambient textures, the seven cuts here take detours from this approach in order to draw as much from musique concrete, noise music, abstract electronics and uneasy listening. Whilst still rippled with the same shades of light and dark that can be found throughout all of Steven Wilson's (Porcupine Tree) work, "The Itself Of Itself" reveals a fascination with analogue sounds and artefacts like tape hiss, wow and flutter, static noise, and sonic break-up, taking the music into a space at once different yet familiar. A dynamic listening experience where unease, dread and comparatively claustrophobic torrents of sound make (un)natural bedfellows to moments of enchantment and serenity. "The Itself Of Itself" sees Bass Communion cutting his teeth on an album that's at once cinematic and moody whilst proving him to be a master in electronic music craftsmanship, spreading its weather-beaten wings to embrace new strategies and a strong desire to journey elsewhere. First edition of 1000 copies in a wonderful Carl Glover designed deluxe mini-LP sleeve, also comprising a 24pp. booklet of his photographs and an obi strip.
EDWARD KA-SPEL (THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS) - 'Tales From The Trenches' LP BROWN (Lumberton Trading Company) - £23

Founder, vocalist and main songwriter for The Legendary Pink Dots, Edward Ka-Spel has long forged an equally prolific career as a solo artist given to sometimes exploring similar sonic realms as his group. Known as someone unafraid to venture wherever he pleases, his work has long traversed the more outward-bound areas of electronic music, psychedelia, hypnotic rock, Kosmische sounds and the avant-garde. Sewn into all of this is Edward's fantastic grasp of spinning a twilight tale or spiralling deep into the mind's recesses to craft a song from comparatively nimble melodies and words of Kafka-esque proportions into a strikingly rich blend. "Tales from the Trenches" collects eight tracks of a personal nature, mostly pinned into place by some refined electro rhythms, molten cosmic textures, plaintive strings, introspective keys and a late night hue that sways effortlessly between the beautiful, haunted and even sweat-ravaged dancefloor. Everything may at first feel ominous or sombre in tone, but there's also a glimmer of hope laid bare in all its sun-drenched glory poking between the cracks. Ltd x 250 copies on brown vinyl.
GRIM - 'Message' LP WHITE (Urashima) - £24

Nothing was likely to prepare the world of Japanese noise for what was delivered by the 1987 EP "Message" by Grim (aka Jun Konagaya, here with White Hospital co-founder Tomosada Kuwahara, Yukio Nagoshi of Vasilisk, and A. Takahashi). It belongs to a body of three 80's releases including the full length "Folk Music" (Eskimo Records, 1986), and "Amaterasu" (G.A. Propaganda, 1985). While its two predecessors are brilliant and more or less what you might expect from a seminal artist of Japanese noise, "Message" follows a markedly different path, delving toward the realm of pop and folk. Drawing on 60's psychedelia, DIY aesthetics, and folky undercurrents more akin to Current 93, "Message" feels like walking through an ancient fairy tale forest - hazy, magical and slightly eerie. "Message" has remained a coveted, rare artefact of a road less travelled and a window into the diverse talents and temperaments that rest below all of his output. This is the first ever reissue of the album, extending the original EP with an entirely new body of noise-oriented reworks by Grim of the original six tracks, effectively doubling in length to a full-length release. Ltd x 199 copies on white vinyl, replicating the original 18+ cover art, and includes a 12" insert, a sheet featuring new liner notes, and a download card.
INCAPACITANTS - 'Default Standard' 2 x LP (Urashima) - £32

Originally released in 1999 on CD (Alchemy Records), "Default Standard" is a testament to Incapacitants' relentless pursuit of pure noise. A sonic landscape marked by tumultuous chaos, the album incorporates feedback, distortion, electronic manipulations, dissonant tones, unconventional time signatures, and unpredictable arrangements. The goal of Incapacitants (Toshiji Mikawa of Hijokaidan, and former C.C.C.C. member Fumio Kosakai) is to elicit emotional and visceral responses from the listener, challenging preconceived notions of what music can be. This meticulously curated double-vinyl reissue is an immersive journey through an archive of captivating visuals and insightful texts. Ltd x 199 copies including a large poster, inserts featuring unpublished photos by Yuichi Jibiki, a four-page A3 folded insert with previously unpublished photos and extensive notes from Toshiji Mikawa and Lasse Marhaug (who was also in charge of remastering), alongside a 1999 interview translated into English, from Japanese music magazine EATER.

K1R2CH8T7V | SLEEPWALKER - 'Empty Parallels And Spiral Forms' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

A 75-minute split between noise project K1R2CH8T7V (Seregy Krechetov, also recording as Naegleria Fowleri, and Hydrocele, as well as Bednoiseroom label boss) and Siberia's Sleepwalker, known for their enigmatic post-rock soundscapes and ambient drone walls. K1R2CH8T7V's epic 41-min opener offers dense guitar noise, electronic bleeps, sharp feedback and ever-changing rhythms over a vast and varied soundscape. Sleepwalker's closer builds up post-rock guitarscapes, dark ambient grandiosity, noisy electronics and lush drones over its immense 34 minutes. The perfect pairing. Ltd x 150 copies (CD proper) in a matt-laminate card sleeve.

MAURIZIO BIANCHI - 'Regel' LP (Oblio / Die Schachtel) - £22

One of the great cornerstones of early 80's Italian experimentalism and Industrial music, fully-remastered for the first time. Comprising two, untitled, side-long compositions, "Regel" stands among the best illuminations of the tangible links between the early electronic avant-garde and certain music that blossomed from the cultural revolution of punk. The first piece draws upon manipulated sound sources, threaded with synthesizer or theremin, which collectively gather an almost post-apocalyptic sensibility. Using a similar sound palette, the album's second side delves toward a more markedly tonal realm, utilising deconstructed melodic elements, striking harmonic collisions and pulses, placed within a cavernous sense of space and texture that achieves thrilling seductiveness. "Regel" remains as fresh, engrossing, and exciting as the day it first appeared in 1982. Remastered by Andrea Marutti and issued in collaboration with the artist in a very limited edition of 280 copies on black vinyl, the album is housed in a sleeve that fully replicates the original, and contains two inserts and a sticker.
MEGAPTERA - 'Near Death' LP (Urashima) - £24

One of the early pioneers of Death Industrial, Megaptera's debut album "Near Death" was originally released by Cold Meat Industry's cassette sub-label Sound Source in 1991. Birthed by the minds of Peter Nyström (Negru Voda), Mikael Svensson (Deaf Machine), and Magnus Åslund, the album fuses haunting atmospheres, experimental soundscapes, and industrial rhythms with a sense of foreboding. Throughout the album, there's a palpable tension; a feeling of being suspended between reality and a realm of shadows. Distant whispers, eerie drones, and subtle shifts in dynamics pull the listener deeper, inviting introspection. A sonic odyssey that is equal parts unsettling and transformative. Megaptera went on to release albums on cult labels such as Slaughter Productions, Art Konkret, SSSM, Release Entertainment, Malignant Records, and CMI. Ltd x 199 copies.
MERZBOW - 'Oersted' 2 x LP (Urashima) - £32

The highly anticipated vinyl reissue of Merzbow's groundbreaking 1996 album. Originally released on CD by Vinyl Communications, this significant milestone in the Japanoise scene is a sonic journey through realms of noise, texture, and intensity. A classic of Merzbow's analogue era, "Oersted" sounds noticably different from "Pulse Demon", "Tauromachine", and "Venereology", with its use of space and dynamic range. Utilising cacophonic machine noise, synth sounds and metallic scrapes, the overall feel of the album is psychedelic and vibrant. The vinyl reissue, expertly remastered for the first time by the esteemed James Plotkin (Khanate, The Joy Of Disease), renowned for his unparalleled expertise, breathes fresh life and depth into the album's already rich and intricate sonic landscape, unveiling new detail within its reverberant dense tapestry and complex noise palette. Ltd x 299 copies in a gatefold sleeve.
MORTHOND - 'Death Time' LP (Urashima) - £24

A passage through the creative psyche of BJ Nilsen and the birth of Morthond, a project that took shape during the winter of 1990. Rooted in the wintry landscapes of its inception, Morthond captures the stark beauty and chilling isolation of his native Sweden. The debut album was originally released by Cold Meat Industry's cassette sub-label Sound Source in 1991 and is a portal to the project's formative years. "Death Time" was recorded in a pre-software era on minimal equipment, but treated to maximum effect. A bed of fragile drones lines a set of outerworldly rattling, crashing and scraping Industrial sounds, with alluring melodies, echoing whispers, and spoken word samples among all the bleakness. "Death Time" remains a testament to the enduring power of BJ Nilsen, who went on to create the lauded ambient project Hazard. This reissue isn't a mere resurrection; it's an invitation to rediscover the essence of Morthond. Remastered by BJ Nilsen. Ltd x 199 copies.
MUMMIES AND MADMEN - 'Mummies And Madmen Grow Dark In The Sun' CD (Winter Hill Recordings / Fourth Dimension) - £11.50

Reissue of the only release from Mummies And Madmen, aka Bob Oliver (Slob Tapes, early live member of Attrition), Alan Rider, head of industrial zine and label Adventures In Reality (Attrition, SPK, Test Dept., Muslimgauze etc) and one half of electronic duo Stress, and the mysterious Cryptic Z Mostman. The title track was recorded in the very underground experimental electronic scene of Coventry in 1983. It's a mix of throbbing drum machine, synthesiser feedback, PiL style bass and scratchy, reverb drenched, guitar that contorts, evolves and mutates over the course of 22 minutes. Fourteen months later, the 20-minute follow-up 'Red Front' was recorded and both tracks were released in 1984 on Slob Tapes as a C45 tape album. A surviving copy of the cassette was unearthed and was remastered by Siôn Orgon for this reissue. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
PURBA - 'Roma Aeterna' CD (Zazen Sounds) - £12

A deep Ritualistic recording related to the atmosphere before civilization emerged or after its destruction. Purba is a musical and theatre project formed in Moscow in 1996, with an impressive roster of current / ex-members including Alexey Tegin (Phurpa). Their music is based upon the ancient sacral ceremonies of the Bon tradition (the pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet), playing authentic Tibetan traditional instruments, using overtone singing as well as musique concrete, noise, electronic, drone, industrial and ritual performance. The original idea of this work was to fix not the eternity of existence, but the eternity of destruction. Shiva is always there. Looking at the sky we see a lot of non-existent stars. Our memory disappears from the wind of time and leaves only eternal ruins. Presented in a 6-panel digisleeve. Already sold out from the label. ACT FAST!

SLEEPWALKER - 'Towards The Horizons' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

The brand new studio album by Sleepwalker, the enigmatic one-man project from the forbidden Depths of Siberia. Gazing through the dark spheres, Sleepwalker lead you towards distant horizons with their own style of deep dark ambient, space drone, shimmering ambient moments, and synth-laden escapism. The new tracks here, created with guitars, electronic drones, analogue synths and handcrafted instruments, collide into one huge journey to unknown places. Ltd x 200 copies in a matt-laminate digipak.

SMET - 'Musica Elettronica / Computer Music 1966-1972' LP (Die Schachtel) - £24

Reissue of an extremely rare, pivotal 1972 Italian electronic avant-garde album. SMET (Studio di Musica Elettronica) was founded in Turin in 1964, from an idea by Enore Zaffiri. In the beginning the Studio worked with rudimentary equipment, developing its own sound experiences with new equipment, followed a rigorous research method with a structuralist approach. With the advent of the synthesizer in 1970/71, a radical methodological and ideological change occurred, with the instrument building an ideal bridge between electronic music and the musical art of the past. "Musica Elettronica / Computer Music 1966-1972" is an experimental endeavor achieved through a spirit of exploration and collaboration. Featuring the unmistakeable sound of the iconic EMS VCS3 synthesizer, along with tones generated on a IBM 360 computer, it was privately pressed in just a handful of copies at the Fonit Cetra studios. This stunning artefact soon turned into one of the most rare and sought after Italian avant-garde electronic LPs of its era. Carefully remastered, this collection now features three previously unreleased extra tracks. Ltd x 210 copies in a deluxe cover with handmade silver foil printed on 450g paper. Also includes a full-size double-sided insert with detailed notes and a SMET / Enore Zaffiri exhaustive chronology.
SPLINTERED - 'Between Scylla And Charybdis' CD (Fourth Dimension) - £11.50

Splintered present their first new album since the 1996 collaboration with Germany's musique concrete artist, RLW. Bringing together several new songs of a lengthy, hypnotic and atmospheric nature, "Between Scylla And Charybdis" sees the original lineup of Richard Johnson (Fourth Dimension boss / Theme / Grim Humour zine), James Machin, Steve Pittis (Dirter boss / Band Of Pain), Paul Dudeney, and Paul Wright joined by Stuart Carter (Theme, The Fields of Hay). Deploying the same combination of rock instrumentation, electronics, location recordings, loops and mostly submerged vocals they were always known for, "Between Scylla And Charybdis" is an often intense reflection of the stormy times it was recorded in. This is the sixth album the group have produced since they began in 1990 and the first since their hiatus of 1997. Mastered by Siôn Orgon. Digipak.
VLADIMIR HIRSCH - 'Lux Antiqua' LP (Integrated Music Records) - £22

Czech Neoclassical musician Vladimir Hirsch (Skrol / Aghiatrias) presents a new orchestral / industrial / choral album created with electronics, keyboards, synthesizers, percussion and integrated technology, along with participation of the Czech Integrated Ensemble & Choir. "A conceptual album, based on a dialogue of central, minimalistically repetitive choral motifs with instrumental themes in the spirit of the author's integrated musical concept. It is a work of an oratorical nature of a musical requiem type, but without the presence of solo vocal parts and without compositional articulation into the form of that standard classical formation. Orchestral-industrial elements in their reasonable amount add suitable dynamic power to the musical expression, where the layered polytonality with historical stylistic references and imaginative alchemical work with sound" (Tom Saivon). Ltd x 200 copies.
ZAZEN SOUNDS #22 Magazine (Zazen Sounds) - £13

The new issue of Zazen Sounds Esoteric Publication featuring interviews with BLACK SEAS OF INFINITY, PURBA, CULT OF LIGHT, AEON VOID, ARKHAETH, KHASHM, ACHERON / VINCENT CROWLEY, DEVOID OF LIFE, CRAFT, and TRIBES OF MEDUSA, as well as esoteric dialogues, philosophical articles, and reviews. 56 pages dedicated to Art and Esotericism - Musical Art / Philosophy / Traditionalism / Sacred Science. "We are a free thinking society and welcome all the Individuals that are free from Dogma-Fanaticism and Blindness. True Spirituality means Liberation from the Bounds and all kinds of Drugs that society offers and enslave the Individual in Mind and flesh and alter his mind's perspective to transformation and enlightenment through empiricism. BLACK WANDERER - 'Hostile Territory' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

Black Wanderer is a cinematic drone project from an Algol / Stuzha member. According to the author, BW explores much more inhospitable territories. It focuses on darker minimalistic tunes which are suited perfectly to sci-fi and horror films. Consider "Hostile Territory" as an alternative soundtrack with more menacing and suspended atmospheres. BW recorded using only bass and electric guitars which deliver more natural ambiance and presence to the sound. Ltd x 350 copies in a digipak.
SLEEPWALKER / FEN - 'Call Of Ashes II / Stone And Sea' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

This is a conceptual split created on a drone / dark ambient / black metal plain. Siberian occult band Sleepwalker and UK progressive Black Metal legends Fen. Sleepwalker's tracks are a journey into mystic depths, endless dreams and Your rebirth. Fen's tracks are a tribute to the crumbling coastlines of Eastern England and the spirits that lie restless beneath the waters. "A thoroughly atmospheric, sometimes otherworldly drift from expansive universes to forested night-time mountainsides" (Doom-Metal). Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.
SPACE MACHINE (MASONNA) - 'Complete Space Tuning Box' 4 x CD Wooden Boxset (Urashima) - £45

Conceived as a vehicle to explore electronic synthesis around the turn of the new millennium, Space Machine is the analogue electronic cosmic sound project of Takushi "Maso" Yamazaki - Masonna. Combining elements of psychedelia, drone, and experimental music, Space Machine crafts a sonic tapestry with layers of space ring, hypnotic rhythms, and ethereal synthesizers, creating a rich and textured soundscape. A transcendent musical journey drawing on the artists deep and long-standing love of early electronic music from the '50s and '60s, utilising his collection of analogue synthesizers (EMS VSC3, Roland System 100 & 100M, PAIA 4700 Modular, Doepfer Modular) and vintage electronic equipment. The music of Space Machine has an otherworldly quality, evoking visions of distant galaxies and cosmic landscapes. It is an immersive and transformative journey that expands the boundaries of what is possible in music. Guests: Kawabata Makoto (Acid Mothers Temple), Nakaya Koichi (Nasca Car), Hasegawa Hiroshi (Astro, ex-C.C.C.C.). Between 2001-2005, Maso released three full lengths and four EPs, all the products of his daily, tripped out inner explorations of music at his Space Machine Systems Studio. "Complete Space Tuning Box" gathers all these works, the project's debut "Cosmos From Diode Ladder Filter", the beautiful albums "2" and "3", and the entirety of those EPs. Ltd x 300 copies in a wooden box with three 7" inserts, a square pin badge and the four CDs that include the complete discography.
THAW - 'St Phenome Alley' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

Thaw are one of the leading forces in contemporary Polish black metal. Infused with noise, experimentation, and immense attention to detail and sound. After the split with Echoes Of Yul, Thaw once again veers into the ambient / improvisation / drone territory with "St. Phenome Alley", despite being widely regarded as a black metal band (although noisy and experimental). It's a sort of getaway, yet it never feels forced, and evokes just the right amount of disarming discomfort while still being perfectly accessible and interesting. The album consists of two lengthy, completely improvised tracks, both recorded even before the amazingly well-received sophomore album, "Earth Ground". For fans of Wrekmeister Harmonies, Grails and Sunn O))). Digipak.
THISQUIETARMY - 'Phantom Limbs / Luftpost' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

Active since 2005, TQA constantly furthers the boundaries of sonic guitar experimentation to create an impressively wide range of dynamic soundscapes by combining textural and structural elements of ambient, drone, shoegaze, industrial, black / doom metal. "Phantom Limbs" was recorded in 2009, but the material wasn't released until 2012, when Land of Decay (the now defunct label founded by members of Locrian) released it on cassette. In addition to "Phantom Limbs", the tracks from the "Luftpost" EP (recorded during the same period) are included on this release as bonus tracks. "Luftpost" was released as a limited 3" CDR on Thisquietarmy Records in 2009 for his first European tour with Nadja. Digipak.
THISQUIETARMY x SLEEPWALKER - '8493' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11

The first meeting of Siberia's Sleepwalker and Quebec's Thisquietarmy was at their concert in the Tomsk State Planetarium in 2018. After this iconic 3D show they decided to record this collaboration. 8493 is the distance that separates the musicians from two continents. Sleepwalker is a one-man project from the depths of Siberia, who uses guitars, drones analogue synths and handcrafted instruments to create ambient soundscapes and dark post-rock music with guitar drones. Thisquietarmy is the ever-evolving sonic project of Eric Quach, revolving around improvised guitar-based drone in which he creates expansive, immersive soundscapes through electronic explorations. He is also known for his work with Aidan Baker (Nadja), Syndrome (Amenra), and Voivod. Digipak.

KORPSES KATATONIK - 'Subklinikal Leukotomy Aphrenia Spasmophilik Lyssophobo Asphyxia Sinister Lethal Anorex' LP (Infinite Fog Productions) - £25

40th anniversary edition of the debut album from Korpses Katatonik, a cult tape originally released by Nekrophile Rekords in 1983. Unlike Zoe DeWitt's later project Zero Kama, the work of Korpses Katatonik (1982-83) remains entirely within the realm of electronic music and shows an uncompromising experimental style comparable to that of Throbbing Gristle, SPK, or Cabaret Voltaire. Like many other exponents of industrial culture, Korpses Katatonik was inspired by dark psychiatry, pathological abnormalism, necrophilia, and other types of paraphilic aberration. These served as a metaphor for the dark side of a dehumanized society that seeks to maintain control by the suppression of anything that could be regarded as dark, sinister, deviant, or unpleasant from the viewpoint of popular mass culture. The terminology of psychopathological disorders was used by Korpses Katatonik in a subversive way for its own poetic value and many of the rare vocals and track titles were taken from writings of patients of Vienna's famous psychiatrist hospital. The final track, 'Choronzon', was originally published on the Nekrophile cassette compilation "The Beast 666". It refers to a ritual performed by Aleister Crowley and Victor Neuburg in the Saharan desert in 1909, and anticipates the strong occult implications of DeWitt's ensuing project Zero Kama. Remastered by DeWitt in 2022. CD in digipak / Black vinyl edition includes a folded A2 poster. .
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Albion's Beautiful Barbarians - New Songs For The Kindred Spirit Of Kibbo Kift' 10" (Café Grössenwahn Grammophon) - £23

A stunning collection featuring Ulver, Sol Invictus, Tenhornedbeast, Jännerwein, Blood And Sun, and Moineau (feat. Matt Howden). Those bright stars of the scene offer neo/dark folk, ritual drone, and hypnotic acoustic tracks, celebrating the Kindred of the Kibbo Kift - an interwar scouting movement steeped in anti-militarist and utopian ideals and whose aesthetic has been described as "heathen futurism". The 10" vinyl has specially commissioned cover art by Johannes Høie, an insert with liner notes by Annebella Pollen, author of The Kindred of the Kibbo Kift: Intellectual Barbarians (2011), and art by Sverre Malling. Design, hand lettering and additional illustrations by Antumnos Studio. Ltd x 500 copies.
ᚾᛟᚢ ᛁᛁ // ᚦᛟᚦ ᚷᛁ (Nordvargr + Trepaneringsritualen) - 'Gamma Ænima' CD (Old Europa Cafe) - £13.50

What was intended as a one-off collaboration with 2018's "Alpha Ænigma", the duo of Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412, Folkstorm, Pouppée Fabrikk, Anima Nostra) and Thomas Ekelund (Trepaneringsritualen, Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words) returns with their third chapter in that special trilogy. A full range of Dark, Northern, Ritual Sounds. A deep dive into spirituality and darkness, spitting more vitriol into the face of the world. Not to be confused with their main collaborative project Det Kätterska Förbund (Cold Spring), this entity performs a pure ritualistic form of music, if you could call it that. These ritual sounds are once again to be considered a living curse, one that spirals out of control and gains more momentum for every time it is recited / played. Let the atmosphere guide you to places you would never find on your own, and open up to the formulae of submission and madness, a deep and obscured abyss of unknown pleasure and pains. After Hair and Teeth, the sounds & artwork for this third chapter are devoted to Finger/Nails. As with the first two chapters, this CD also comes in a DVD-sized digipak.
MAEROR TRI - 'Ambient Dreams' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

One of the most interesting cassettes in the discography of the defunct German trio of Helge Siehl (now recording as 1000schoen), Martin Gitschel and Stefan Knappe (both now recording as Troum). Unavailable in physical format for 17 years, all the sounds on this CD originated from natural ambient sources; no electronic sound-sources were used. "Ambient Dreams is more than just an album. It is a thrilling journey into the heart of nature, an ode to the beauty and power of the natural world... this hidden masterpiece is finally accessible to all those who wish to be transported by the enchantment of the sound" (Ver Sacrum). Reissue of material originally released on cassette in 1990 (ZNS Tapes), then reissued in 2007 (Beta Lactam Ring Records). All ambient recordings were made between August 1989 and June 1990 in West Germany. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak with new graphics.
DON BRADSHAW-LEATHER - 'Distance Between Us' 2 x LP (Distance) - £30

New reissue of this cult 1972 album. During the long, dark hangover of the Summer of Love, the classically-trained Essex prodigy approached CBS Records with demo recordings. A forward-thinking A&R executive must have seen a potential revenue stream in Don Bradshaw-Leather's avant-classical noise. The artist was given an advance to record an album. He used the funds to create a large studio in Sussex with many instruments including an actual church organ. Here, on his own, without the use of any electronic sequencing, he recorded "Distance Between Us" using simply multitrack tape, layering each part of the composition. Upon hearing the product of their financial investment - four side-long tracks of blurry organ drones, frantic piano tinkling, and ritualistic percussion - CBS got cold feet. The album was self-released on Bradshaw-Leather's own Distance imprint; a vanity label established for the sole purpose of releasing the album. The double gatefold sleeve is full of mysteries, from the misspelling of "Bradshaw" ("Bradsham", to the coal-blackened visage of the bohemian madman on the cover (DBL himself?), to the rear photo collage depicting the same madman accosting a nude woman. The music isn't any less mysterious; shapeless symphonies of smeared-out Mellotron, tribal drums, and wordless vocals. Don Bradshaw-Leather passed away in the 90's. VERY few copies in stock!
BVDUB - 'Asleep In Ultramarine' CD (Dronarivm) - £12

Brock Van Wey, aka bvdub, presents the monolithic, immersive ambient work "Asleep In Ultramarine", weighing in at just over 79 minutes. Continuing his quest to blur all lines of genre and definition just as the barriers between sleep and waking life - imagined and real - continue to break down and disappear further by the day. Bvdub uses reverb to create massive atmospheric textures, using synthesizers and percussion. A life of consuming madness continuing its guise as grand artistic vision. "Across an hour and twenty minutes, we're intimately drawn right into his personal space where dreams and reality merge through profoundly moving, longing and yearning soundscapes that have a hefty emotional weight. Another masterful tearjerker. Beautiful music" (Norman Records). Ltd x 200 copies in a soft touch digipak.
THE RITA - 'Thousands Of Dead Gods' CD (New Approach Records) - £11.50

Sharks, apex predators, brutal and fearless Gods of the known oceans, magnificent creatures that inspire and fascinate many are one of the earliest The Rita's obsessions transferred as theme for the artist's sound incursions. On "Thousands Of Dead Gods" Canadian artist Sam McKinlay (also recording as Black To Comm, Vice Wears Black Hose) used sounds sourced from Great White Shark cage diving, both under water and from the deck and created an hour-long piece of brutal and harsh monolithic wall of sound that gives the listener an immersive experience into the realms of these amazing beasts. Originally released in 2006 (PACrec / Troniks) and sold out for a very long time, "Thousands Of Dead Gods" gets a new edition with renovated artwork and the good old obsession.

MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Topography Of Frequency And Time' CD (Drone Records) - £11.50

Swedish Dark Ambient, Drone and Electroacoustic project Moljebka Pvlse (Mathias Josefson) applies the concept of topography to sounds and time, which can be interpreted geographically like a physical landscape. "An expedition through expansive sonic landscapes that stretch beyond our daily awareness... an open invitation to transcend the visual confines of physical space, encouraging a deep dive into the unexplored realms of sound and time. This album seeks to chart the uncharted territories of our auditory experience, intricately mapping the intersections of three-dimensional space within the frequency and time domains". Topography is the study of the forms and features of land surfaces, and the physical appearance of natural attributes in a certain area. Over these 70-minutes, Josefson guides through an aural topography of sound... a continuous "transfer" into non-ordinary states of mood and consciousness. Ltd x 250 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.

SEALED IN BLOOD - '20 Years Through The Forests, Ruins And Mystical Lands' 2 x CD (Heerwegen Tod Production) - £13.50

Exactly 20 years ago, the solo project GodNeptun (joined by Funeral), underwent a rebranding as Sealed In Blood and a musical metamorphosis from synth ambient to dark ambient. A few months later, GodNeptun decided to leave from the project forever, leaving it solely in the hands of Funeral. Under this solo endeavor, Funeral recorded 7 full albums, along with various compilations, EPs, splits, and demos. This 2CD compilation marks the culmination of two decades of cold and hypnotic, dark sounds. Previously unpublished tracks and pieces from hard-to-find releases are bolstered by tracks from tapes never before released on CD. Nearly 157 minutes of dark and chilling ambient music, showcasing the project's work from lower Silesia, punctuated by sounds of nearby copper mines, forests, ruins, cemeteries, bunkers, and industrial facilities seamlessly integrated into the surroundings.
KNURL - 'All Existences Conceived' CD (Karo Productions) - £12

Brand new album of Canadian 'junk' noiser. Knurl is the solo noise project of Alan Bloor, who also records as Level Of Existence, Pholde, and Pyrox - he was also a member of legendary industrial / experimental band Phÿcus. Knurl began in 1994 utilising found objects such as car springs, scrap metal, saw blades, and other industrial detritus to create the sounds that inspired him while working in welding shops in Windsor, Ontario. The project started as an idea to replicate the speed and intensity of grinding metal into a musical project - and "All Existences Conceived" certainly fulfils those credentials. Two punishing tracks make up this new outing (albeit around 30 mins each).
VIOLENT GRIEF - 'Better To Have Never Been' Cassette (Self-Released) - £10

Violent Grief is a Dark Ambient / Noise / Drone artist hailing from Nottingham. Conceived in 2021, the project explores the space between noise and ambient incorporating drones, pulses, synthesizers, field recordings and industrial elements. Following their debut EP, "The Age of Loss and Hunger", the project presented its debut full-length release. The album is inspired by the concepts discussed in "The Conspiracy Against The Human Race" by Thomas Ligotti. Themes such as pessimism and the curse of human existence are the driving force behind these many-layered tracks of progressive drones and textures slowly building, leaving nothing in their wake. Mastered by Thomas Garrison (Control). Limited Edition grey cassette shell.
