"Das Kreuz is a particularly stripped-down version of the soundscape [of "Fiire"]: birds chirp, crows caw, a bell tolls, and a repeating piano melody plays in the very background. Overall, these two pieces sound almost like a field recording, as if you were standing in a remote village and heard someone playing the piano in the distance" (African Paper).
