After years of wandering, the mysterious Valery settled in the distant and almost inaccessible Russian village of Zamulta and never left. He is engaged in hand-making musical instruments like pipes, harps, flutes; he breeds bees and leads the household, which forms the basis of his life. With these minimal resources, he recorded "Mountain Of Fugitives" - hypnotic ambient compositions built on lo-fi drones, pipes, harps, nature breathing, field recordings, nature sounds and his own voice, occasionally filling the space with references to ancient Chinese and Japanese poetry like Mèng Hàorán and Matsuo Basho, and quotes from Norwegian writer Hans Burley, or his own verses. Valery discovered "ambient" for himself as the most suitable form for self-expression without regard to any standards. The serenity of nature, the simple tranquility of a secluded lifestyle, the purity of a self-contained existence and the tension of daily physical labour, are all here in these sound... in the originality, naturalness, and softness of the sounds, which literally disarm and necessitate to play the record over and over again. 5 years in preparation, this double CD features 150 minutes and eight long nameless tracks.
