Works for clarinet, reinterpreted by Monika Bugajny, reworked by Rutger Zuydervelt in spring 2023.

A mutual introduction by Gareth Davis led to Machinefabriek reworking one of her beautiful clarinet recordings into a ghostly one-minute piece for his album "+". Monika then proposed another, more elaborate collaboration. Her suggestion was to use the same working method again, but this time with classical pieces as a starting point... Debussy, Messiaen, Brahms, Stravinsky...

Monika reinterpreted eight classical pieces, beautifully played and recorded. Machinefabriek then stacked, cut, and manipulated the material into the tracks you'll find on "Recytle". Moody and woozy clarinet / electronics vignettes, evoking haunted landscapes; an intriguing counterpoint to their originals.
