Pacific 231 is a long running project from Pierre Jolivet (originally from Paris), who is currently based in Dublin, Ireland. Pacific 231 started with the first wave of music in the industrial / power electronics fields. His works now explore the very limit of sound & space. "For a listener in a closed room, the acoustical impression definitely depends on the reflected sound components. Thta is, on the reflections, their sequences and their directions determine the acoustics of a concert hall, a theature, or any other space. The auditory process and the phantom sources created by the brain creating a spacial impression is investigated by the performance".
