"Healsgebedda Budgerigar" (meaning "beloved budgie" in mangled old English) represents yet another visionary achievement from Steven Stapleton's Nurse With Wound project.

The album's three original LP tracks journey through landscapes of memory and dreams. Fragments of recollection (the vocalisations of a once-dear pet, jazz from an old Bakelite radio, a passing police car, the intrusion of a wasp, someone retuning for opera)... the journey from sublime reverie to the theme of a favourite childhood cowboy show that may or may not have existed in reality. The final of the three original tracks delivers what critics describe as "the music that would be playing in the Black Lodge episodes of Twin Peaks... if the soundtrack had been allowed to mirror the sublime derangement of these scenes".

This new CD edition includes an additional 35 mins of unpublished tracks: 'A Pig In A Poke' and 'A Resounding Tinkle', plus an alternative mix of the title track. The album showcases Nurse With Wound's continued ability to transpose surrealism's visual art movement into pure sound "to reveal the unconscious… and to undo prevalent conceptions of order and reality" (Briony Fer).
