• IGOR STRAVINSKY - 'The Rite Of Spring (Le Sacre Du Printemps)' LP

A lovely vinyl presentation of one of the most influential classical works - heavily sampled by COIL on 'Horse Rotorvator' and other recordings, Foetus on 'Hole' and 'Nail' albums, not to mention a huge influence on film composer John Williams, especially the JAWS and STAR WARS soundtracks.

This is the first release of a new Dirter subsidiary imprint, dedicated to releasing historical musical documents; "DTR Archive Recordings". Here Igor Stravinsky himself conducts his masterpiece, "The Rite of Spring (Le Sacre du Printemps)" with Walther Straram Concerts Orchestra, Theatre des Champs-Elysees, Paris, 1929.

Yes, it can be done - wiping off the dust and polishing the sound for a new shine, whilst maintaining the integrity of the original recording. Painstaking steps were made to track the best possible audio down and get as close to the original as possible. Forget the dreadful over compressed CDs that we are all used to. Close your eyes and listen to this and you could be back, almost 100 years ago. These archive recordings cannot and should not be compared to modern day audio. This is presented as an historical document.

Ltd x 250 copies.
