The new album from Norwegian sound artist Are Mundal is a homage to Conrad Schnitzler, partly based on his private recordings on side one. A great album of rhythmic, atmospheric, experimental, gothic ambient which will remind you of Nurse with Wound etc.

"His best work yet... he's moving away from droning textural ambient nature sounds, samples and voices... this still has some of those bedded in the mix, but only occasionally and mostly they're manipulated and pretty affective.. it's a really good album, very satisfying. [Mundal] says it's inspired by Conrad Schnitzler... I can hear that, but it's not a direct influence and I think that says something about where he's going with his own work... substantial and forward-looking molten electronic music that goes into different spaces and places... Are Mundal has written songs for albums such as Enslaved's "Isa" and Immortal's "All Shall Fall", but is probably best known for his photography of Fantoft stave church on the day it burnt down in 1992.
