Profound songs inspired by the poems of Yeats... the acoustic transformation of the deepest yearning.
For this release, German transcendental-drone duo Troum (ex-Maeror Tri) teamed up with the legendary British singer / songwriter and Eyeless In Gaza / Twelve Thousand Days member Martyn Bates.
More than 2 years in the making, Bates sang played (mouth organ and melodica) over material provided by Troum, consisting of harmonic minimal loops and basic song structures derived from accordion, e-bass and guitar, percussion. Troum were then responsible for the final subsequent additions and mastering. Martyn Bates sang four poems of Irish poet W.B. Yeats with a most impressive sensitivity for Troum's very sublime and rather hidden harmonic structures. This is pure emotional poetry transformed into yearning audible spherics!
