SUTCLIFFE NO MORE's "House Of Dolls" continues along the same vein as Sutcliffe Jügend's 2016 album "S L A V E S", but this time stretches and builds the music like never before.
Consisting of 10 tracks or 'scenes' that build up, twist and turn, the carefully crafted soundscapes tell a story, without words but instead disturbingly created through complex sound textures. Calm yet haunting ambient drone (think NWW "Salt Marie Celeste") serves as the basis of the ‘story’, which eventually arrives at an unsettling end of cacophonous noise layers.
The disturbed nature of each track is evident, accurately representing Kevin Tomkins (ex-Whitehouse) & Paul Taylor's relentless search for a truth we are all too often scared to face. A must buy for fans of their more complex instrumental work.
