Lycia member David Galas presents an atmospheric work that delves into darkwave, shoegaze, and goth rock with his signature melancholy and dense textures.

"We find ourselves in the end, overlooking an ocean. You think you're alive but you're dead, we're dying in slow motion... all your suffering is over. Lay down and close your blind eyes, as the wind blows colder...".

"Galas infuses a decidedly more folk and acoustic sound into Ghosts Of California.. it retains a number of constants inherent to the artist: the dismay and pessimism at the heart of the lyrics are highlighted by the few mournful guitars and strings accompanying the vast majority of the tracks; Galas's voice and the overall atmosphere still recall the respectable sound of Swans in the 90s" (Eklektik Rock).
