MASCHINENZIMMER 412 (MZ. 412) - 'Malfeitor'
CD £9.50 - out 28th October

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube

A history lesson, recorded in autumn 1989. Unavailable for over 20 years in any format, we proudly present "Malfeitor" - the now classic album from Maschinenzimmer 412.

This was the last release under that name, and what seemed like the final nail in the coffin for the Swedish Black Industrial act. 6 years later they rose from the ashes, restructured and resurrected as MZ. 412.

This is evil incarnate, staring into the abyss. Relentless industrial rituals; darkness fused with machines, your fears and your power. An expression of the coldest music imaginable. With a more lyrical approach than the predecessor "Macht Durch Stimme", "Malfeitor" explores themes of death, with an unequivocal dystopian outlook.

Cavernous heavy industrial, primitive machine rhythms, and cold metallic loops created on old synths with very little post-production. What you hear is how it sounded on those original sessions. Originally released on LP in 1989 by Cold Meat Industry, this monumental album is now available for the first time since 2001. Also available on digital for the first time ever! This definitive edition has been painstakingly transferred and mastered from the original 4-track tapes, with no unnecessary 'padding'.

In 1987 Henrik Nordvargr Björkk, Jouni Ulvtharm Ollila, and Leif Holm forged a band that would be an outlet for blasphemous prophecies, yet from a unique sonic spectrum. The unholy triumvirate were already hitting hard as Pouppáe Fabrikk, with Maschinenzimmer 412 unleashing their deepest, darkest personas. Jonas Drakhon Aneheim joined in 1995, replacing Holm and thus enacting the change of name to the abridged MZ. 412.

MZ. 412 are an act that continues to cover the earth in a nightmarish black veil. Rare releases and even rarer performances have only added to the cult status of these prime movers.

Digipak with elegant new artwork by Abby Helasdottir (Gydja).

GENESIS P-ORRIDGE & DAVE BALL - 'Imagining October' (Derek Jarman) O.S.T.
12" Etched £18 - out 14th October

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube

The first ever release of the soundtrack to the rarely-seen DEREK JARMAN 1984 short film "Imagining October", with music recorded by Derek's friend and collaborator Genesis P-Orridge (PSYCHIC TV / THROBBING GRISTLE), and Dave Ball (SOFT CELL / THE GRID). Recorded at DJM recording studios in Theobalds Road, London.

Limited Edition 12" vinyl featuring a beautiful etched B-Side. Features liner notes by James Mackay (Jarman's producer, collaborator and archivist).

Derek Jarman put together a programme of films for the London Film Festival, reflecting the cutting edge of the London avant-garde of the time. Recorded at the same time as "The Angelic Conversation", "Imagining October" was filmed in the Eisenstein Museum in Moscow, Vladimir Mayakovsky's grave at Novodevichy Cemetery, the GUM department store facing red square, and the fire temples of Baku in Azerbaijan. The painting sequences with a group of soldiers (Angus Cook, Stephen Thrower (COIL), Peter Doig and Keir Wahid) was filmed in London. Jarman considered it one of the best, if not the best, of his shorter works. It was intended as an agit-prop work and the combination of music and imagery remains powerful to this day.
KOLLAPS - 'UNTIL THE DAY I DIE'
CD £11 - out now! || LP £18 Adv - out 20th October

 CD     BLACK LP
Soundcloud   Soundcloud   Soundcloud   YouTube   YouTube

"Until The Day I Die", the third album from Australian post-industrial outfit KOLLAPS, is a merciless and visceral assault on the senses and continues the trajectory of the band's idiosyncratic approach in their creation of sound. The album showcases an uncompromising force of harsh post-industrial music narrated by overarching themes of condemnation and redemption; of violence, romanticism, sexuality, and addiction. Much of the creation and lyrical conceptualisation of the record has been stylised and presented using William S. Burroughs' cut-up method.

A wide variety of metals and raw materials were used in the creation of the album including metal grates, a rusted hoist, cement cylinders, field recordings, hammering of various decrepit objects, broken amplifiers, an exposed reverb tank, various synthesizers, and the infamous metal coil; a crudely self-constructed artifice that has become iconic in its use across KOLLAPS' triptych of releases and lengthy touring history.

Mastered by: James Plotkin. Cover artwork: Nullvoid (Thomas Ekelund | Trepaneringsritualen).

CD in 6-panel digipak || LP with full colour matt-laminate sleeve and printed inner lyric sleeve.

The brand new album from the ritual / industrial / dark ambient act who create music at abandoned industrial locations.

"A portal to another world is located inside an abandoned Soviet-era swamp drain near a residential building in the Zakamsk suburb of Perm, Russia, 58.0122, 55.9623. A ritual was performed here, so now we are living in an inside-out world. This is one of the last recordings inside our Temple - the oil tanks are finally scrapped. Dedicated to the victims of totalitarian regimes".

A vision of a decaying post-industrial age. For fans of: Raison D'etre, Shibalba, Phurpa. 6-panel digipak.

Rhythmic industrial noise - grinding and churning, drenched in crushing doom-laden guitars - drapes the sacrificial bones of the new album from esoteric electronic alchemist COLOSSLOTH.

Building on this trademark sound, pushing and striving for reinvention and renewal, Colossloth has also utilised live instrumentation and ethereal vocals, and black metal blast beats on certain tracks for the first time to enhance the intent behind the music. Digitally-driven soundtracks for transfigured cities and myths born in the wilderness of Albion.

Occupying a halfway point between Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire without ever quite sounding like either. One of the most important underground releases of the early 80's.

The debut album "Ceza Evi" - featuring GENESIS P-ORRIDGE and IHAM on Tibetan Thigh-bone Trumpet - was released in June 1983, followed by a special edition later the same year, originally available only to readers of Nanavesh. This is the first proper release of both editions of those legendary experimental tape manipulations.

BRIGHTER DEATH NOW - 'All Too Bad - Bad To All' LP (Cold Meat Industry) - £30

All too bad, here is one bad to all. While the project has never compromised its original vision, it is fair to say Brighter Death Now has evolved into one of the few bands upholding the black flag of industrial music. True to his roots - Roger Karmanik is still living in accordance with the only law he can follow. NO rule. While people should be seriously more worried about the grumpy old nihilist. Nothing left to lose or gain. His bare and tarnished feet continue the one-man funeral procession through the cold and desolate Nordic landscape. His back against the world. Let Everything Rot! 7 years since last album, this new full-length is yet one of the ultimate albums from someone who has been around since before most were even born and he will cling on with nails and teeth until the last of us have given up or surrendered. This is bad news for all of us! Ltd x 506 copies in a very nice glossy gatefold sleeve with hand-numbered art card, oversized poster, and download code.
CITALOPRAM SHUNYATA - 'Moist Nobility' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Citalopram Shunyata is a project by Scatmother mastermind Hagen Verkhaner. Since its inception back in 2018, Citalopram Shunyata has been an insider tip among fans of Harsh Noise of the deep and more European ilk, conjuring up feelings of similarity towards acts like Treriksröset, Sewer Election or Vomir. Hands-on analogue modulation meets vintage p*rnography and semi-classy Sleaze. "Moist Nobility" marks yet another step in evolution for this unique project. There is of course the analogue blast and ripping feedback that the maniacs have come to appreciate but even more reliance of detail and finesse in layering the respective elements to form a full experience of analogue noise that finds the perfect sweet spot between filthy murk and modern dynamics. Explicit artwork. Comes with folded poster.
DÜSSELDORF - 'Amok' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

The new album from the pioneers of the Polish EBM scene, "AMOK", consists of six premiere songs (40 minutes), recorded with the new line-up. Adam Radecki invited Jacek Sokolowski (Rigor Mortiss, That's How I Fight) to cooperate, which has undoubtedly influenced the new character of DÜSSELDORF's music. The EBM mood is still evident, but the electronic sound, in places akin to the Berlin school, and enhanced by live percussion, introduces the band's music into new stylistic areas. Going beyond the convention of the genre, they reach for new wave and post-rock, but never losing energy with their beat they still set the dance rhythm. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
GENETIC TRANSMISSION - 'News From Wormland' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

This is the ninth part of the GT Archive Series released by Zoharum, originally released on CDR by Die Schöne Blumen Musik Werk (2002). Inspired by the work of Lautremont and the turpistic aura, incessantly reigning chaos emerges from the thicket of looped sound structures, based on scraps of field recordings and attempts to imitate the sounds of nature, with the use of industrial instruments with a rough and metallic resonance, sometimes interrupted in a split second by suddenly appearing silence. Using the cut-up technique, Tomasz managed to create an intense work influencing the imagination of the audience - a sound illustration composed in the spirit of the Lautremont's ars poetica, while at the same time being a sound complement to world created by poet in Maldoror's Songs. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold ecopak.
GENETIC TRANSMISSION - 'White Nights' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

This is the tenth part of the GT Archive Series released by Zoharum. "White Nights", originally released on CDR by Die Schöne Blumen Musik Werk (2003), is considered by many to be one of the best albums in the GENETIC TRANSMISSION discography. Dynamic, electrifying and strong material in the spirit of musique concrète, it is based largely on electroacoustic preparations and recordings from sessions recorded in May - June 2003, made with the use of unconventional instruments, specially built by the musician himself - the late Tomasz Twardawa. It was thanks to this that he obtained his own sound, characteristic of his work. "White Nights" is a peculiar soundtrack - a musical illustration of a sleepless night at its various stages along with a whole range of emotions accompanying them: from exhaustion to total euphoria, from excitement to almost total madness, which could be successfully used as a characteristic describing the operation of popular stimulants on the human brain. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold ecopak.
GENOCIDE ORGAN - 'Leichenlinie' CD (Tesco Organisation) - £14

Repress of the first Genocide Organ album. This material stands for one of the most wanted records in this genre of all time. "Leichenlinie" remains as an outstanding release in the German post industrial music scene. The well-balanced music contains power electronic rhythm based tracks as well as dark drowning ambient pieces with haunting samples. It has been over 30 years since the first G.O. LP was released in an edition of 291 copies (also released on vinyl for the 20th anniversary 2009 in an edition of 291 copies). It contains the 2009 re-mastered version (by Jason Mantis) with the two additional tracks. A classic of post-industrial power electronics. This 2022 CD edition features the all-style GO cover art, debossed and spot varnished digipak, with slightly changed artwork and new catalogue number to accompany the current vinyl edition below.
GENOCIDE ORGAN - 'Leichenlinie' LP (Tesco Organisation) - £28

Repress of the first Genocide Organ album. This 2022 vinyl edition features the all-style GO cover art, debossed and spot varnished and comes with an A4 insert plus additional hand-numbered brown certificate. It contains the 2009 re-mastered version (by Jason Mantis) with the two additional tracks. A classic of post-industrial power electronics. This is almost identical to the 30th anniversary edition from 2019 with a few minor changes. According to the label: "Limited run of app 5.185.750 copies only".
JARL - 'Mindrotation' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

Like Jarl's recent albums "Hyperacusis" and "Phonophobia", "Mindrotation" deals with the human psyche, this time by turning inwards. Spanning just shy of an hour, this 5-part rotation of the mind has a sort of a psychedelic electronic sound. The first two parts ('Mind Variation and 'Mind Dimension') are among the brightest Eric Jarl (IRM, ex-SKIN AREA) has ever recorded, with an arpeggio sequencer synthesizer style. But the three later parts ('Mind Symptoms', 'Mind Isolation' and 'Mind Disorder') have a darker and colder tone. From inspiration, energy, creativity, calm to anxiety, despair, destructiveness and isolation and after part five the psyche has been driven too far, turning inward with no return. In the end everything becomes clear: it was meant to happen. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
KAPALA - 'Doomsday Requiem' MCD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Hailing from the mystical and violent Kolkata, the 'War Metal' band perfectly combines all aspects of current extreme underground music into one menacing whole. A perfect balance between cacophony and fast, catchy riffs, blast beats that drill their way into unsuspecting ears and guttural commands spewing forth hatred for this world and glorious supremacy. This newest bullet into the head of weakness comes in at 22 minutes but still offers more than enough material to satisfy the hungry crowd. The sound is deep and crisp, hammering like an army of iron fists mowing down armies of scum. Kapala present songs full of analogue realness and genuine destructive feel; absolute war, but always with the right amount of order to highlight the impressive musical craftsmanship hidden under the pitch-black vitriol. "Doomsday Requiem" appears like a call to war, propaganda for the absolute end to all creation. Dark and full frequencies dance like Shiva in Trance while death gods harvest human skulls on ancient battlefields of Indian legends. Utter brutality freely flows between Death Metal and the best structural aspects of Harsh Noise. Pray for Annihilation! Comes with foldout poster.
MANINKARI - 'Un Phenomene De Reliance' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

"Un Phenomene De Reliance" is a suite, consisting of four separate, lengthy compositions. The Charlot brothers continue to follow their chosen path, masterfully developing their illustrative music - extremely vivid, strongly influencing the imagination of the audience. It could certainly serve as the soundtrack to a movie based on a somewhat dreamlike plot, or as the sound for a performance or ballet. The French duo use classical instruments with quite a lot of freedom, and at the same time with impeccable virtuosity, to create a rather peculiar musical abstract. Based on compositions that are characterized by incredible lightness, harmony and melodic beauty, at the same time giving the impression of fleeting, airy miniatures, each note seems to sound only for a moment before disappearing into a huge space, filled with silence. File under "ambient" or "chamber music", while neither of these expressions will fully represent the pleasure of listening to and exploring this very intimate, personal and captivating music. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak.
MANINKARI - 'Un Phenomene De Reliance' LP (Zoharum) - £18

Vinyl version of the above release. Ltd x 300 copies on 180g vinyl with download code.
OF THE WAND AND THE MOON - 'Your Love Can't Hold This Wreath Of Sorrow' LP (Heiðrunar Myrkrunar) - £30

Deluxe vinyl edition of Of The Wand And The Moon's brand new studio album, 10 years since the last highly acclaimed "The Lone Descent" (2011). The 10 new songs are a highly atmospheric, melancholic and twilight-ridden output, that this time clearly shows mainman Kim Larsen's inspirations from 60-70's singer / songwriters such as Lee Hazlewood, Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg, as well as movie soundtracks from the same period. Whilst developing the sound from "The Lone Descent", this album still maintains some of the dark Neofolk roots of the band, and is also a huge step musically into brand new directions. It also includes guest performances by King Dude, legendary Danish singer / author / artist Martin Hall (who also wrote the liner notes for the album), Uffe Lorenzen (Baby Woodrose), Bo Rande (Blue Foundation), and Sarah Hepburn (Kloster), to name a few. Produced by Kim Larsen and Mikkel Elzer (Kloster), and also mixed by Mikkel Elzer. OTWATM are one of the top acts in the dark folk / neofolk scene, with a huge, powerful and epic sound, rightly deserving their worldwide acclaim. Ltd x 500 copies in a deluxe metallic foilblocked fold-out gatefold cover, with printed inner sleeve and 8 page 12" booklet. The sleeve is also printed on the inside.
ROTAT - 'Disfigured Onanist' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Brand new album from one of the hottest newcomers of the prolific and innovative Finnish Harsh Noise scene. Rotat's sounds are always well-crafted and full of life, crisp and flow together in sophisticated arrangements. The organic dirt has hints of Smell & Quim, old school Russian metal junk and maybe even traces of German Noise peculiarities about it, but Rotat is a wholly new type of beast. "Disfigured Onanist" takes all the aspects Rotat is known for and cranks them up a notch. Walls of filth rise and fall, ripping feedback squeals over the sounds of metal sheets and power tools and oddly enticing modulation. Blocks of heavy sound manage to be brutish yet still subtle, creating atmospheres of unhinged lust and sonic mayhem, which immediately make you see the hairy, heavy-set screwball in his noise shed clanking on bizarre instruments. Everything feels hands-on and thought-out, while still being no holds barred Noise violence, which has nothing hip or polished about it. A truly pulverising experience, this is sonic harsh mastery at its best. Comes with foldout poster.
SCATMOTHER - 'Vivikta' GREEN LP (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £21
Scatmother is a name that will finally establish a mark in the history of German Noise & Power Electronics, being carved in the memory and mind of the morbid, a step further, even deeper. "Vivikta" follows the footprints left by "Sadotantra", with its distinct blend of old school Power Electronics and heavy Industrial virtues. Maybe less harsh and piercing than previous outputs but definitely more brutal, heavy, structured and aggressive. The track 'Insekten aus Glas und Metall', for instance, sounds as if one person is vandalizing an entire room until nothing but dust remains. Penetration of the buttons from lower, more mid paced, disturbing levels up to the maximum and full force assault on the audial senses. Lyrically it focuses on a blend of Eastern Spirituality and deep ecology, and its concept is hostile and antagonistic towards humanity, praising the detachment of mundane life, an elitist and outcast lifestyle. Play at ear stabbing volume! Ltd x 100 copies on transparent 180g green vinyl, with A2 poster.
SCATMOTHER - 'Vivikta' RED SPLATTER LP (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £23

Red splatter edition of the above release. Ltd x 100 copies on 180g red / black splatter vinyl, with A2 poster.
SCHRÖTTERSBURG - 'Om Shanti Om' LP (Zoharum) - £18

The material on the brand new album from Schröttersburg was created in a very short time compared to the previous album "Dalet". Unable to participate in concerts during lockdown, the musicians hid in their rehearsal room and began experimenting, using various instruments that hadn't been used before - including sheet metal, kalimba, oil barrels, djembe, karatala, Aztec whistle death. They have thus enriched their existing sound, opening them up to even bolder explorations of new sonic regions, sometimes significantly different from their main previous style. Using New Wave as a starting point the band start their escape to other regions / genres, leaving a lot of space for the musical traditions of India or the Middle East. The marriage of their music with psychedelic post-rock and Krautrock is even more clearly felt, building strong compositions in the spirit of industrial aesthetics. "Om Shanti Om" it is also a journey inside the band themselves; their spirituality and extrasensory states. The idea behind the creation of this material was to create a specific mantra cleansing the mind and body from bad energy. Ltd x 300 copies in matt-laminate sleeve with 12" full-colour insert providing original Polish lyrics and the English translations. Comes with download code. CD edition still available!
VENTA PROTESIX + JUGENDWERKHOF - 'Sterilitätszelotismus' CD (New Approach Records) - £11.50

Just before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe, Italian Noise project Venta Protesix and German Harsh Noise duo Jugendwerkhof joined forces and recorded "Sterilitätszelotismus" - a collaboration focused on obsessive cleaning behaviour. Sonically this is a journey through Harsh Noise sounds and a perfect blend of both projects approaches to it. Recorded in Marzahn, Berlin 05.03.2020. Limited edition digisleeve with artwork by Canadian Collage artist Paul van Trigt.
VIGILANTISM - 'Fistborn' CD (Obsessive Fundamental Realism) - £11.50

After two albums on legendary Freak Animal Records, the Finnish project Vigilantism (Olli Tanskanen, who also records as Edge Of Decay) returns with another display of absolute force. "Fistborn" continues the oppressive and dark Heavy Industrial style known from his previous works, but also features a nice newish hint of Power Electronics brutality and is even more diverse. Cold but always fleshy and organic waves of sound, commanding vocals and traces of pounding rhythm make this a real treat for any fan of Heavy Industrial and Power Electronics.
WAPENTAKE - 'Remembrances' CD (Nekrogoat Heresy Productions) - £11.50

Elegies to the forgotten rural past from the 'British Rural Black Folk' act. "Remembrances" is a compilation of demo releases from the Hampshire Black Metal / Dark Folk project Wapentake. On this CD you will find the "Saxon Pastoral" demo tape, the "Harbinger" tape, and the previously-unreleased "Perennial" EP, plus 3 more unreleased demo tracks, collected for the first time on CD. This collection gives a wide view on the project's sound and approach. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak with cover illustration by the artist's great-great-grandfather Albert Bowers (1838-1910).
WILL OVER MATTER - 'Sähköinen Esoteria: Tribulations 17 To 20' CD (Obsessive Fundamental Realism) - £11.50

The new full-length by Will Over Matter comprises over 70 minutes of trademark Noise like nobody else does it. "Sähköinen Esoteria" presents deep, synth-driven but yet dynamic and sometimes even aggressive Industrial Noise material reminiscent of past triumphs like "Lust For Knowledge" but yet still new and fresh. Using both live recordings and studio tracks (spanning 2017-2020), Ride For Revenge founder and frontman Harald Mentor creates yet another impressive hallmark in his discography. Matt-laminate digipak.
WOMB11 - '(-)' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

The debut album from the rancid and decomposed Nekro Industrial act, hailing from the bleak and desolate wastelands of Russia. In many ways the sounds reflect this hostile environment; slow and churning dark throbs, clatters and sound waves form a cobweb of deathlust and dark magick. One thing that is especially striking is the analogue nature of the music. Classic Industrial weaponry like the MS10 live up to their long-lasting legacy and the deep and full waves interact with percussion created with real bones and human remains. There is a feeling of minimalism and trance-like repetition that is mastered skillfully, reminding the listener of absolute classics like Zero Kama, Halo Manash and Korpses Katatonik. The tracks find a very unique space located somewhere between Ritual and Death Industrial while maintaining a lot of character and a refreshingly unmodern approach. Revelling in death worship, the sinister and the macabre, Womb11 drag the listener into fields of death and the stench of open graves. Comes with foldout poster.

ANTICHILDLEAGUE - 'Entrenched Extreme' CD (Obsessive Fundamental Realism) - £11.50

Full-length album from London's AntichildLeague. 4 years after her last solo full-length, Gaya Donadio (Hinoeuma The Malediction) is back with an absolute bang and presents her harshest and most brutal work so far. Of course, trademark aspects like complex compositions, Donadio's unmistakable vocals, enticing atmosphere and deep heavy throbs are to be found, but "Entrenched Extreme" is way more than just that. ACL utilises a very contemporary harshness, crisp metal junk, piercing Feedback and variations in style that form a massive Power Electronics monolith. Ltd x 200 copies.
BRIGHTER DEATH NOW - 'All Too Bad - Bad To All' CD (Cold Meat Industry) - £14

All too bad, here is one bad to all. COIL - 'The New Backwards (Extended Edition)' 2 x CD (Infinite Fog Productions) - £23
COIL - 'The New Backwards (Extended Edition)' 3 x LP (Infinite Fog Productions) - £40

"The New Backwards" was conceived by Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson in 2007, revisiting stray tracks which hadn't seemed to gel with the material he had chosen for the more somber "Ape Of Naples" from 2005 - COIL's initial posthumous release, a sort of requiem and a kiss-goodbye to his then recently deceased partner John Balance. Significantly different to its sister release, this album collects the brilliantly chaotic and outrageously rhythmic material from the original sessions for the album that was begun as early as 1993 and had originally been conceptualised as the follow-up to "Love's Secret Domain". A timeless album, boasting nine further tracks of previously unheard material from the same sessions ('Wur Click Wur Ruff 1994' is exclusive to the CD version) [read more].

CD presented in a deluxe 6-panel double digipak with lyric book and foldout poster. The stunning cover uses a detail from artist Ian Johnstone's "Cubic Raven" painting, licensed from his estate.

Deluxe triple vinyl edition: this is the first time "The New Backwards" has been issued on vinyl in its full form without 3 skipped tracks! Presented in a triple-gatefold sleeve.

INCAPACITANTS - 'As Loud As Possible' 2 x LP + 7" (Total Black) - £35

The mid-90's were particularly abundant years for harsh noise, producing many albums which are now considered masterpieces. One of the most beloved classics from this period is "As Loud As Possible" by Incapacitants. Active since 1981, the duo of Toshiji Mikawa (Hijokaidan) and Fumio Kosakai (Hijokaidan, C.C.C.C., Tangerine Dream Syndicate) found their stride in the early 90's and set off on an unrelenting course which produced countless gems of noise. Having never been reissued since its original 1995 release (CD, Zabriskie Point), "As Loud As Possible" is now made available for the first time in 27 years, with no corner cut in preparation of its reissue. The audio was transferred from the original tapes by Din-I-Ilahi, re-mastered for digital format by Rashad Becker. The iconic cover photographs by Naomi Hosokawa have been scanned from the original negatives, with unused shots included for the first time.
Super deluxe vinyl edition, with the iconic cover negatives enlarged for the expanded LP format. Features two additional vinyl-only tracks of previously unreleased material recorded around the same time as the album, included as a bonus 7" with alternate picture sleeve. Gatefold sleeve with full-size insert.

RIVER FLOWS REVERSE - 'When River Flows Reverse' 2 x LP (Twisted Flowers) - £30

Haunting and hypnotic folk from Hungary by talented members of the Psychedelic Source / Lemurian Folk Songs collective. This double LP from River Flows Reverse is mesmerizing, and full of quiet, pastoral beauty. The D side has bonus LP-only tracks. Recorded in a cold shed in the middle of the muddy forest, "this in fact feels like a perfect location for the conception of this delicate, transcendental folk record... within the first measure of the stunning arrangements that they create on When River Flows Reverse, we are fully immersed in their psychedelic, ethereal soundscape. Across the album we find complex rhythms, deeply textured arrangements, and otherworldly melodies, often steeped both in eastern tones and the group's own contemporary artistic leanings... Mysterious, inviting, hauntingly beautiful. When River Flows Reverse is a true blend of artistry in composition and exquisite, genre-perfect musical performance... few others are creating this kind of boundary pushing, truly modern and original type of folk" (The Ark Of Music). Presented in a truly beautiful gatefold sleeve with cartography / illustrations by Tamás Tóth.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Electronic Jugoton - Synthetic Music From Yugoslavia 1980-1989 Vol. 1' 2 x LP (Everland) - £32

A unique compilation of Electronic, Minimal, Synth, Wave and Avantgarde music from former Yugoslavia. The galloping technical progress in the second half of the last century dominated all spheres of daily life, art and culture. In the music industry machines took over the role of classical instruments, influenced by the global electronic phenomenon, producing bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Soft Cell, Section 25 etc. What was going on in the music industry of former Yugoslavia, and at Jugoton, the biggest YU music label at that time? The answer is here. Filling two double albums (Vol II, due in 2023, will go further back to pre-electronic music from 1964), "Electronic Jugoton - Synthetic music from Yugoslavia" was first released by Croatia Records (ex-Jugoton) in 2014 on a 2CD set with two and a half hours of material (47 songs, 35 performers). Vixeslav Labox and Zeljko Luketic have excelled at reconstructing the musical past of electronic music in Yugoslavia - provocative, exciting and progressive moments of pop, disco music, early rap, new wave, RnR, post-punk and industrial, but also pioneers of avant-garde electronic music [read more]. Tracks restored from the original master tapes by Labos and Luketic, who have also provided the insightful liner notes on each act. Gatefold sleeve.
SMELL & QUIM - 'Nativity Colostomy (Anus Horriblis)' CD (Tribe Tapes) - £12

Reissue of a cassette from the UK's most eccentric and vile noise act. Originally released in 1993 via Old Europa Cafe, "Nativity Colostomy" is an hour-long trek through filthy industrial and colourful shifts of sound. Excellently remastered by Milovan Srdenovic, this crucial part of the Smell & Quim catalogue is available for the first time in over two decades as a professionally-manufactured CD. Audio / Art by Smell & Quim. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak, replicating the original tape art.
DARKSMITH - 'Imposter' CD (Throne Heap) - £11.50

With previous releases on notable labels such as Hanson, and Chondritic Sound, Darksmith uses domestic and field recordings, tapes, electronics, and radio to create this lo-fi basement surrealism. "Shifty, shadowed, corner-born juh naysay qua is especially relevant in the case of Imposter... some of the project's most unsettling art yet. The four tracks mine a lengthy span of source material (2012-2019), the eclectic mess carefully shaped into a focused half-hour suite that runs the gamut of sonic preoccupations old and new... bedroom-Blockaders clatter that would be right at home on Broken Brain or Dancing Out the Door and nocturnal, precariously cozy tape drone very much in the spirit of Gypsy. The titular imposter is caught between inside and out, lurking by rotting birdhouses and sputtering HVAC units for just as long as it spends creeping through basements and bedrooms. There are countless moments of brilliance scattered throughout, but the humbly harrowing end of 'Hold Everything' might win out, shuddering to nothingness like a rattling final respirator breath" (Noise Not Music). Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed). Digipak.
