GENESIS P-ORRIDGE & DAVE BALL - 'Imagining October' (Derek Jarman) O.S.T.
12" Etched £18 - out 14th October

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube

The first ever release of the soundtrack to the rarely-seen DEREK JARMAN 1984 short film "Imagining October", with music recorded by Derek's friend and collaborator Genesis P-Orridge (PSYCHIC TV / THROBBING GRISTLE), and Dave Ball (SOFT CELL / THE GRID). Recorded at DJM recording studios in Theobalds Road, London.

Limited Edition 12" vinyl featuring a beautiful etched B-Side. Features liner notes by James Mackay (Jarman's producer, collaborator and archivist).

Derek Jarman put together a programme of films for the London Film Festival, reflecting the cutting edge of the London avant-garde of the time. Recorded at the same time as "The Angelic Conversation", "Imagining October" was filmed in the Eisenstein Museum in Moscow, Vladimir Mayakovsky's grave at Novodevichy Cemetery, the GUM department store facing red square, and the fire temples of Baku in Azerbaijan. The painting sequences with a group of soldiers (Angus Cook, Stephen Thrower (COIL), Peter Doig and Keir Wahid) was filmed in London. Jarman considered it one of the best, if not the best, of his shorter works. It was intended as an agit-prop work and the combination of music and imagery remains powerful to this day.
JAGATH - 'Svapna'
CD £9.50 - out 5th October

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube  Soundcloud

"Svapna" is the brand new album from JAGATH - the ritual / industrial / dark ambient act from Perm, Russia.

"A portal to another world is located inside an abandoned Soviet-era swamp drain near a residential building in the Zakamsk suburb of Perm, Russia, 58.0122, 55.9623. A ritual was performed here, so now we are living in an inside-out world.

This is one of the last recordings inside our Temple - the oil tanks are finally scrapped. I hope this is not the end.

This album is dedicated to the victims of totalitarian regimes".

JAGATH create their music at abandoned industrial locations - the bottom of a moist underground sewer shaft and inside huge hollow oil tanks - without using digital synthesis. Simple, mostly hand-crafted instruments, found objects and voices are used to share their vision of decaying post-industrial age, to unleash the spirit of deep beyond-world and unveil life in the abyss.

6-panel glossy digipak. For fans of: Shibalba, Phurpa, Raison D'etre, Arktau Eos.

DEAD VOICES ON AIR - 'Abrader Redux'
CD £9.50 - out 7th October

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube  Soundcloud

The hugely sought-after debut album from DEAD VOICES ON AIR (Mark Spybey of DOWNLOAD / ex-ZOVIET FRANCE, REFORMED FACTION), featuring cEvin Key (SKINNY PUPPY / DOWNLOAD).

"Abrader" blends processed sounds from primitive instruments and found objects into hypnotic looped rhythmic structures, with dark clusters of heavy ambient washes into what could be described as Organic Panambience, or 'music for the eyes'.

"Abrader" was the first of over 80 releases (so far) by Mark Spybey using the name DEAD VOICES ON AIR. It was recorded over the space of days in Vancouver in 1993 and released as a tape the following year by Akifumi Nakajima (AUBE), for his G.R.O.S.S. label. Chronologically, the material was recorded after most of the music that made up his first two releases on compact disc - "New Words Machine" and "Hafted Maul" - however, "Abrader" was released before both of those albums.

"Abrader Redux" features the three lengthy tracks that were released on the original cassette, plus the bonus tracks that were included in the 2009 reprint as part of the "Fast Falls The Eventide" double CD, and now with two 'new' previously-unreleased bonus tracks recorded 1994 - taking this masterwork up to 7 tracks and over 67 minutes of exceptional music.

"If most ambient is the laudanum of the new fin de siécle, then Dead Voices on Air are the absinthe" (Village Voice).

The album for Cold Spring has been remastered by Martin Bowes from Attrition. Packaged in a matt-laminate digipak with art by Spybey, beautifully laid out by Abby Helasdottir.

KOLLAPS - 'UNTIL THE DAY I DIE'
CD £11 - out now! || LP £18 Adv - out 20th October

 CD     BLACK LP
Soundcloud   Soundcloud   Soundcloud   YouTube   YouTube

"Until The Day I Die", the third album from Australian post-industrial outfit KOLLAPS, is a merciless and visceral assault on the senses and continues the trajectory of the band's idiosyncratic approach in their creation of sound. The album showcases an uncompromising force of harsh post-industrial music narrated by overarching themes of condemnation and redemption; of violence, romanticism, sexuality, and addiction. Much of the creation and lyrical conceptualisation of the record has been stylised and presented using William S. Burroughs' cut-up method.

A wide variety of metals and raw materials were used in the creation of the album including metal grates, a rusted hoist, cement cylinders, field recordings, hammering of various decrepit objects, broken amplifiers, an exposed reverb tank, various synthesizers, and the infamous metal coil; a crudely self-constructed artifice that has become iconic in its use across KOLLAPS' triptych of releases and lengthy touring history.

Mastered by: James Plotkin. Cover artwork: Nullvoid (Thomas Ekelund | Trepaneringsritualen).

CD in 6-panel digipak || LP with full colour matt-laminate sleeve and printed inner lyric sleeve.

Rhythmic industrial noise - grinding and churning, drenched in crushing doom-laden guitars - drapes the sacrificial bones of the new album from esoteric electronic alchemist COLOSSLOTH.

Building on this trademark sound, pushing and striving for reinvention and renewal, Colossloth has also utilised live instrumentation and ethereal vocals, and black metal blast beats on certain tracks for the first time to enhance the intent behind the music. Digitally-driven soundtracks for transfigured cities and myths born in the wilderness of Albion.

TenHornedBeast is back to its pounding Doom-Ambient roots and recorded his darkest album yet, as a sonic veneration of a medieval sculpture depicting the torment of the damned in Hell.

Five suitably monolithic pieces form a journey, starting with the first mortal death and ending with the second eternal death of the soul. The darkest textures and heaviest drones are way-markers on this journey; hymns to exalt the scenes shown on the stone.

ALLEGORY CHAPEL LTD. - 'Without Tears: NOISE In Theory & Practice' LP (Throne Heap) - £18

The first full-length LP for the long-running solo project of Elden M. (Trance, Chaos Of The Night, ex-The Haters), delivering Allegory Chapel Ltd.'s distinctive and signature approach of combining and arranging eclectic sounds, noise frequencies, and electronic music into carefully assembled compositions. A variety of sources were employed for the creation of this album including: manipulated cassettes, a scratched record, distorted feedback originating from amplified junk metal, vocals, pedal / rack effects, synths, drum patterns, and excerpts from a recent live ACL performance. "A personal tour de force representing the best ACL work to date. Overall, it is a statement against the blandness and mediocrity produced and consumed as staples by prevailing status quo tastemakers. This album aims to approach the pinnacle of nonconformity and iconoclasm, the vanguard shift towards an attitude that the 'outsider' is the standard ideal becomes my declaration for a new elite dissatisfied with the dross, the fatally dull and comfortably numb. Endeavor to maintain your edge; always remain dangerous. Forward!". Ltd x 400 copies with double sided insert.
CACKLE CAR - 'G.I.L.' CD (Total Black) - £11.50

A collaboration between Ted Byrnes (Wood And Metal) and Sam McKinlay (The Rita), "G.I.L." is the debut full-length from Cackle Car. Solo percussion tracks from Ted Byrnes emulate drag racer engines idling on nitro. Sam McKinlay then takes each track and translates them even further into a distorted cackling texture. A call and response divided into 10 parts, "G.I.L." reaches points of near mania, and constantly shifts into a new direction as soon as it becomes comfortable. One for those who enjoy a 'difficult' listen! Photography by Sam McKinlay. Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed).
COIL - 'The New Backwards (Extended Edition)' 2 x CD (Infinite Fog Productions) - £23

"The New Backwards" was conceived by Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson in 2007, revisiting stray tracks which hadn't seemed to gel with the material he had chosen for the more somber "Ape Of Naples" from 2005 - COIL's initial posthumous release, a sort of requiem and a kiss-goodbye to his then recently deceased partner John Balance. Significantly different to its sister release, this album collects the brilliantly chaotic and outrageously rhythmic material from the original sessions for the album that was begun as early as 1993 and had originally been conceptualised as the follow-up to "Love's Secret Domain".

These songs are as diverse and wild as the places they originated from, partly infamously spawned in Sharon Tate's former home in the Hollywood Hills, the Nine Inch Nails home base in New Orleans and London's Swanyard, co-composed, remixed and restructured with the help of long-term friend Danny Hyde in Thailand, this collection has its own unique flow and an atmosphere not found on any other COIL release. Both 'AYOR' and 'Backwards' had by the time the album was first released already become favourites in COIL's manic live performances. Some of the other tracks had only leaked in demo versions and are here presented updated and polished as Christopherson and Hyde intended them to be heard. It is interesting to consider Balance's vocal contributions, too. Whilst on the albums COIL did release at the time this material was first put aside ("Black Light District" and "ElpH") his voice is all but absent, his vocal performances and his lyric writing here are arguably more closely indebted to the previous "Love's Secret Domain" era, especially the epic 'Copacaballa' is noteworthy in that respect. "The New Backwards" effectively became the final official COIL studio release of all new material whilst Peter was still alive and is here presented for the first time fully supervised by Danny Hyde, its co-creator.

It is high time to rediscover this timeless album, boasting nine further tracks of previously unheard material from the same sessions ('Wur Click Wur Ruff 1994' is exclusive to this CD version), rough working stages and surprising remixes which will surely delight the dedicated COIL archaeologists, as they shine yet another light on the creative process and on what could have been. Presented in a deluxe 6-panel double digipak with lyric book and foldout poster. The stunning cover uses a detail from artist Ian Johnstone's "Cubic Raven" painting, licensed from his estate.
COIL - 'The New Backwards (Extended Edition)' 3 x LP (Infinite Fog Productions) - £40

Deluxe triple vinyl edition of the above release. This is the first time "The New Backwards" has been issued on vinyl in its full form without 3 skipped tracks! Presented in a triple-gatefold sleeve.
DARKSMITH - 'Imposter' CD (Throne Heap) - £11.50

With previous releases on notable labels such as Hanson, and Chondritic Sound, Darksmith uses domestic and field recordings, tapes, electronics, and radio to create this lo-fi basement surrealism. "Shifty, shadowed, corner-born juh naysay qua is especially relevant in the case of Imposter... some of the project's most unsettling art yet. The four tracks mine a lengthy span of source material (2012-2019), the eclectic mess carefully shaped into a focused half-hour suite that runs the gamut of sonic preoccupations old and new... bedroom-Blockaders clatter that would be right at home on Broken Brain or Dancing Out the Door and nocturnal, precariously cozy tape drone very much in the spirit of Gypsy. The titular imposter is caught between inside and out, lurking by rotting birdhouses and sputtering HVAC units for just as long as it spends creeping through basements and bedrooms. There are countless moments of brilliance scattered throughout, but the humbly harrowing end of 'Hold Everything' might win out, shuddering to nothingness like a rattling final respirator breath" (Noise Not Music). Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed). Digipak.
HARNESS - 'Encased In Marble / Wrapped In Roots' CD (Throne Heap) - £11.50

Two of America's finest harsh heads Luke Tandy (Being / Skeleton Dust) and Shane Church (Hostage Pageant / Still Image) team up to explore a slightly less abrasive, more experimental palette. "Encased In Marble / Wrapped In Roots" favours slow burn texture and mood above maximum density. That's not to say that the HN doesn't intentionally escape the Harness chokehold from time to time because it most certainly does. Recording together since 2014, this is the sound of a very well-rehearsed duo performing an album of the finest calibre. Digipak with art by Luke Tandy.

INCAPACITANTS - 'As Loud As Possible' CD (Total Black) - £12

The mid-90's were particularly abundant years for harsh noise, producing many albums which are now considered masterpieces. One of the most beloved classics from this period is "As Loud As Possible" by Incapacitants. Active since 1981, the duo of Toshiji Mikawa (Hijokaidan) and Fumio Kosakai (Hijokaidan, C.C.C.C., Tangerine Dream Syndicate) found their stride in the early 90's and set off on an unrelenting course which produced countless gems of noise. Having never been reissued since its original 1995 release (CD, Zabriskie Point), "As Loud As Possible" is now made available for the first time in 27 years, with no corner cut in preparation of its reissue. The audio was transferred from the original tapes by Din-I-Ilahi, and re-mastered for digital format by Rashad Becker. The iconic cover photographs by Naomi Hosokawa have been scanned from the original negatives , along with outtakes and unused shots, which are now included here for the first time. The 8-panel digipak also features extensive liner notes written by Sam McKinlay aka T
he Rita.

INCAPACITANTS - 'As Loud As Possible' 2 x LP + 7" (Total Black) - £35

Super deluxe vinyl edition of the above release. Re-mastered for vinyl format by Rashad Becker. The iconic cover photographs by Naomi Hosokawa have been scanned from the original negatives and enlarged for the expanded LP format, along with outtakes and unused shots, which are now included here for the first time. T. Mikawa also dug into the Incapacitants archives and unearthed two additional tracks of previously unreleased material, recorded around the same time as the album. These two vinyl-only tracks, entitled "As Loud As Possible Revisited" are included as a bonus 7" with alternate picture sleeve. Features extensive liner notes written by Sam McKinlay aka The Rita. Deluxe gatefold sleeve with full-size insert.
JOE COLLEY - 'Deformation Of Tone' LP (Total Black) - £20

This album delivers abrasive-adjacent electronic judders cloaked in a feeling of intimacy distilled from primordial ooze. Opening voices dissolve into Lucierian mosaic yammer, and plummet into a negative space populated by an unadorned clicking, that most elemental physical manifestation of audio phenomena; the antithesis of awareness and enlightenment and transcendence. The episodes continue without pause, as if one is moving through an exhibition. Compared to Colley's work, which he once described as "little noises arranged on a piece of plastic", a lot of other noise seems hell-bent on shameless over-compensation. His material has always been low-key, and "Deformation Of Tone" finds him shuffling in a colder, harsher, more desolate direction. The single-malt rasp of an unnamed conspiracy theorist / motivational speaker, present more for his intonation than anything else, punctuates this rather sculptural 33 minutes of machines whirring, devices beeping, blank-face rotary drones swelling and merging with unnaturally regimented hive rustlings and perfectly unpleasant high-gain squelch - all constructed with a master's timing and sense of scale.
JUNTA CADRE - 'The Enemy Is Listening' LP (Total Black) - £20

Following the red thread of history that wove its way through the 20th century, Power Electronics act Junta Cadre previously targeted the development and overtake of Communism throughout China and South-East Asia. Now, the iron-sights are set on the era of the red scare and Cold War. "The Enemy Is Listening" draws heavily from personal research and reading, aiming to document the years of paranoia, intimidation, and political terror of Soviet Communism, and its tense relationship with the United States. After several tape releases, this debut LP picks up sonically where the previous full-length "Vietnam Forever" left off, introducing the most expansive sound for the project so far. With the help of artists Deterge, Striations, and Death Kneel, "The Enemy Is Listening" delivers oppressive synth lines, scathing vocals, crushing noise, and meticulous sampling. Includes 8-page A4 full colour booklet.
RIVER FLOWS REVERSE - 'When River Flows Reverse' 2 x LP (Twisted Flowers) - £30

Haunting and hypnotic folk from Hungary by talented members of the Psychedelic Source / Lemurian Folk Songs collective. This double LP from River Flows Reverse is mesmerizing, and full of quiet, pastoral beauty. The D side has bonus LP-only tracks. Recorded in a cold shed in the middle of the muddy forest, "this in fact feels like a perfect location for the conception of this delicate, transcendental folk record... within the first measure of the stunning arrangements that they create on When River Flows Reverse, we are fully immersed in their psychedelic, ethereal soundscape. Across the album we find complex rhythms, deeply textured arrangements, and otherworldly melodies, often steeped both in eastern tones and the group's own contemporary artistic leanings... Mysterious, inviting, hauntingly beautiful. When River Flows Reverse is a true blend of artistry in composition and exquisite, genre-perfect musical performance... few others are creating this kind of boundary pushing, truly modern and original type of folk" (The Ark Of Music). Presented in a truly beautiful gatefold sleeve with cartography / illustrations by Tamás Tóth.
SMELL & QUIM - 'Nativity Colostomy (Anus Horriblis)' CD (Tribe Tapes) - £12

VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Electronic Jugoton - Synthetic Music From Yugoslavia 1980-1989 Vol. 1' 2 x LP (Everland) - £32

A unique compilation of Electronic, Minimal, Synth, Wave and Avantgarde music from former Yugoslavia. The galloping technical progress in the second half of the last century dominated all spheres of daily life, art and culture. In the music industry machines took over the role of classical instruments, influenced by the global electronic phenomenon, producing bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Soft Cell, Section 25, Silver Apples, Pierre Henry etc. What was going on in the music industry of former Yugoslavia, and at Jugoton, the biggest YU music label at that time? The answer is here. Filling two double albums (Vol II, due in 2023, will go further back to pre-electronic music from 1964), "Electronic Jugoton - Synthetic music from Yugoslavia" was first released by Croatia Records (ex-Jugoton) in 2014 on a 2CD set with two and a half hours of material (47 songs, 35 performers). The brave and insightful creators of "Electronic Jugoton", veteran crate diggers Vixeslav Labox and Zeljko Luketic, have excelled at reconstructing the musical past of electronic music in Yugoslavia - provocative, exciting and progressive moments of pop, disco music, early rap, new wave, RnR, post-punk and industrial, but also pioneers of avant-garde electronic music. ENGEL DER VERNICHTUNG - 'Engel Der Vernichtung' 2 x CD (Oltrelanebbiailmare / Silentes) - £10

Born in 1985 as a project by Federico Festuccia and Roberto Feliciangeli - soon joined by Daniele Arisi and Paolo Campanelli - the Italian group took its disturbing name Engel Der Vernichtung ("Angel of Destruction") from an Einstürzende Neubauten song. With early performances taking place in deconsecrated churches and abandoned factories, their style is characterised by electronic / darkwave sounds and classical melodies similar to those used by Dead Can Dance, while the lyrics are often taken from the works of famous Italian writers and poets. The first CD here collects all the tracks of the mini-LP "L'amour Fou"(1988), plus the complete album "Angels in the Dust" (1990). The second CD offers an extensive set of unreleased tracks recorded in the subsequent period. A touching journey around and inside feelings, between the sacred and the profane, an exploration of the subconscious where rationality is lost in favour of the most irrepressible and deep instinct. Presented in a 15cm x 15cm trifold sleeve.
ENTEN HITTI - 'Giant Clowns Of The Solar World' CD (Aqua / Amplexus) - £7

Enten Hitti is a tribal ethno-ambient group from Italy, founded by Pierangelo Pandiscia and Gino Ape. A musical journey with the archaic roots of sound and demons. sounds that cross every living being, up to the high spheres of celestial harmonies, and even higher towards the constellation of the Milky Way. A wide variety of instruments were used in the recording of the album, such as: computer, oboe, voice, violin, guitars, keyboards, tapes, drums, xylophone, marimba, wooden chimes, glass chimes, kalimba, ethnic percussion, shells, bonesclappers, Tibetan bell and others. Ltd x 1000 copies in an A5 6-panel foldout card sleeve.
FRANCISCO LOPEZ With VALENTINA LACMANOVIC - 'With/In' CD (Silentes) - £7

Francisco López destroys the boundaries between industrial sounds and wilderness sound environments, shifting with passion from the limits of perception to the most dreadful abyss of sonic power, proposing a blind, profound and transcendental listening, freed from the imperatives of knowledge and open to sensory and spiritual expansion. Since 1999 Valentina Lacmanovic has researched dances from different cultures through their ritual, folk, classic, and contemporary aspects. Her investigations into whirling dance led to insights into its origins and practice extending beyond Sufi meditation. "With/In" features one long track (52 mins) created by Francisco López with original sound matter recorded from body, clothes and immediate surrounding space during ritual whirling by Valentina Lacmanovic. This work translates the dancer's breath and movements into music. Ltd x 500 copies in an outsized gatefold sleeve.
MARIA ASSUNTA KARINI / FRANCESCO PAULO PALADINO / SIMON FISHER TURNER - 'Ghosts Of Industrial Sunday' CD & DVD (13 / Silentes) - £10

"Ghosts Of Industrial Sunday" is a short film by Maria Assunta Karini and Francesco Paolo Paladino, with music composed by Simon Fisher Turner. The DVD contains the film, and the CD features the original soundtrack and other compositions inspired by this project that Turner created specifically. They are accompanied by a booklet, offering some images taken from the film and delves more into the concept behind it. The film portrays those places attended by humans in order to carry out their profession, only while they are empty, for a limited period of time, during a break, on a weekend. These are places where the human presence, fatigue, pain, hope are palpable presences, where silence seizes the humble labour objects almost by magic and where things talk and expose without having to necessarily utter any words. Turner's soundtrack expresses a delicate tranquility through notes of piano which are just mottled by the electronic elements in the background, while an unspoken sense of drama hovers in the air and the circular motion of the composition gradually absorbs the listener. Comes in an A5 20-page booklet.
QUEST - 'Electro-City' CD (Lunar / Amplexus) - £7

Quest is one of the solo projects of Frans de Waard, best known for his projects Beequeen, Freiband, THU20, Goem, Kapotte Muziek, etc. On this CD you will find five excursions into ambient music; something hovering at the fringe where ambient meets experimental and electronic music. Ambient music for Quest is the field where musicians can explore sound frequencies, minimalist changes and enveloping modules. On "Electro-City" you will find three long examples of this, bracketed by two short tracks that act as prologue and epilogue. Ltd x 1000 copies in an A5 6-panel foldout card sleeve.
RED SECTOR A - 'Transients' CD (Silentes) - £8

RELAY FOR DEATH / JASON CRUMER - 'Channel Gutter' CD (Total Black) - £11.50

"Channel Gutter" is a split affair between autonomous American noisers Relay For Death and Jason Crumer. Relay For Death open with a barrage of sound, and over the six movements contained in the 25+ minute piece, Roxann and Rachal Spikula weave between noise, musique-concrète, dark ambient, and industrial, while maintaining an intangible and stoic nature. "Pauperized Monolith" is a nearly 37-minute deep arrangement from Jason Crumer. Featuring harsh noise extractions from the classic early 2000s "Ruth" sessions, the second half of the split is pensive, occasionally veering into the realm of ambient. Absolute highest recommendation. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
SARANG - 'The Dream Of Earth' CD (Silentes) - £7

Sarang is Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Candor Chasma, Daimon, Hidden Reverse, Dream Weapon Ritual) and Enrico Marani (ex-T.A.C., Le Forbici di Manitù). The duo offers oriental sonorities and tribal atmospheres, following the coordinates of a primitive universe, where each sequence gets into our minds and dilates boundaries. Reinventing the structures and enriching them with a disturbing emotional tension, Sarang reclaims the "trance and drone" parameters by combining them with ethnic influences into a skillfully balanced screenplay. Comes in an outsized gatefold sleeve.
THE RITA - 'Gamzatti' CD (Total Black) - £12

Deluxe CD reissue of the long sold-out LP "Gamzatti", originally released by Total Black in 2014. Includes an extra 27-minute long reworking of original source material entitled "Gamzatti Stripped". "Gamzatti" marked the first The Rita recordings utilizing sound sources from pointe shoe work to create his signature Harsh Noise Wall sound. The pointe shoe preparation and technique here is by Hannah Sarah Myrberg, and this CD reissue is dedicated to her memory. All of the dancer's pointe shoe movements were mic'd, recorded, photographed, and processed live by The Rita, turning her dance steps into something significantly more sinister. Gamzatti is arguably Sam McKinlay's (Black To Comm, Vice Wears Black Hose) favourite female classical ballet character. His top three favourite performers of the role are Ludmila Pagliero, Tatiana Terekhova, and Marianela Nunez. Housed in a stunning 8-panel digipak with full-colour booklet.
UNDER THE SNOW - 'The Other Room' CD (Silentes) - £8

Seven 'rooms' described through the visual essence of sober and linear photographic black and white images, and through sonorities based on whispered and discrete synthesis, often bordering on silence, violated by occasional harshness, chimes of plucked strings, hissings, cracklings, electrical tensions, gurgles and digital creaks. An intimate and introspective path, through long and deserted corridors, entering spacious and bright rooms surrounded by white large walls, walking on reflective polished floors, cold and aseptic just like the sounds that Gianluca Favaron and Stefano Gentile chose to fill with vibrations of their spaces and architectural forms. Ltd x 300 hand-numbered copies in an outsize 6-panel sleeve, including a unique slide with each copy.

SUTCLIFFE NO MORE (SUTCLIFFE JUGEND) - 'Consenting Adult' 2 x CD (4iB Records) - £18

After the harrowing "Domestic", comes the cathartic release of "Consenting Adult". The video for opening track 'Akrasia' gives the viewer a taste of another seismic shift, this time towards a varied selection of songs closer to the Sutcliffe Jugend sound, yet still utterly unique. No limits. No boundaries. No template. Disc one features shorter songs, a release of energy and creativity, featuring unique tracks like 'Drug Mule' and 'Cut Tooth' while disc two's songs go deeper and darker still, especially on 'Heavy Petting' and the disturbing 'Coma Toy'. This is Kevin and Paul's most varied album since "With Extreme Prejudice" (Cold Spring 2011). Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with 24-page booklet, with special portrait art throughout by Kevin Tomkins.
ETANT DONNES - 'Bleu' 2 x LP (Penultimate Press) - £30

Étant Donnés is an experimental / industrial duo formed in Grenoble in 1980 by brothers Eric and Marc Hurtado. Following the first ever vinyl reissues of "Aurore" and "Royaume, Aimant + Aimant", the final part of this extraordinary trilogy is now given the vinyl treatment. "Bleu" (originally released on CD, 1994 by Staalplaat) is the final gesture and culmination of this period of creation where poésie and la nature form a magical alliance that resonates as an alchemical wedding. Having the conviction that "Bleu" was the ultimate arc based on the purity of natural sound and poetry, leaning towards a mystical spiritual search towards their own souls the band then moved onto collaboration with friends and idols such as Genesis P-Orridge and Michael Gira. Remastered by Rashad Becker. Presented in a glossy gatefold sleeve.
MUNKNÖRR - 'Eikthyrnir' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

A reissue of the 2020 self-released digital-only album from Munknörr, the ritual-folk phenomenon from Uruguay. With Shamanic, Nordic and Celtic influences, Munknörr create a pagan inspired world, both dark and mystical, with a natural primitive sound. "Eikthrynir is an album about the circle of life and death, light and darkness, about nature and its duality... It begins with Eikthyrnir which represents life because from its horns it creates the rivers, and ends with Andleg Umbreyting which means Spiritual Transformation, and represents death. It's a very personal and spiritual album where we put our fears and beliefs". Features Icelandic musician and Skáld Sigurboði Grétarsson. Gatefold digisleeve.
RICHARD YOUNGS - 'New Emptiness' CD (Fourth Dimension) - £11.50

Each one of the five compositions on "New Emptiness" may use tones or oscillating loops as something of a starting point, but true to form Richard Youngs teases each one into new shapes where different shading applies as well as an unexpected rhythm or, on final cut 'Annulus II', his manipulated voice enter the fray. "New Emptiness" draws from both the avant-garde of contemporary minimalist music and his own tendency not to settle for half-measures. It is an album that requires a little sweat oozing from the ears of the listener. Mastered by Sion Orgon. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
NUORI VERI - 'Vakaumus' CD (Aussaat) - £12

"Vakaumus" compiles the first two tapes of the rural industrial / noise project Nuori Veri from Finland - "Vakaumus" and "Vakaumus II", both originally released in tiny editions of just 50 copies on Brownhill Mafia, 2019. Dusty reel-to-reel soundscapes, intense vocals, desolate farmyards and mystic passages. "The voice is the right one for this kind of music, screaming, shouting, whispering and with the occasional repeating loop to imply an industrial rhythm, it works very well. But there are also more reflective piano bits, rummaging around the farmland; life is probably not that bad in rural Finland. The radio-play idea I had the last time also works here similarly and adds more mystery to the release. Maybe it is all a bit of a gothic horror story in a damp, empty land... What I like about this musical project is that it is both traditional and surprising, covering a wider musical field than your typical noise release" (Vital Weekly). 53 minutes of nordic soundscapes, including 15 minutes of bonus material. Ltd x 200 copies in digipak.
MLEHST - 'Resonances And Observance' CD (Karo Productions) - £12
