"The heroism of revolution through the queered lens". We'e excited to release - for the first time ever on any format - the soundtrack to DEREK JARMAN's rarely seen 1984 film, with specially-commissioned music by GENESIS P-ORRIDGE & DAVE BALL. The film itself has only ever been shown a handful of times since it was made 38 years ago, and the soundtrack has quite the story, as beautifully told in the liner notes by James Mackay.

15 Degrees Below Zero is Mark Wilson (Conure), Daniel Blomquist, and Michael Addison Mersereau. The first release by this project was in 2000, so 21 years later we get to see how the project has progressed. Despite this album being started over 10 years ago it fully expresses a great maturity and fine diversity of styles: lush drones, beautiful harmonies, experimental noise, and cinematic soundscapes. BºTONG - 'The Eradication Of The Individual' CD (Oxidation) - £11

Ambient sound artist BºTONG melts the boundaries between ambient electronics and musique concréte. The new album features music made using the sound from slow-motion videos made with a smartphone. Lyrics dealing with the loss of identity, ego, isolation and despair... hostile soundscapes, wicked humour, serious issues... This is business as usual from the house of BºTONG (Chris Sigdell of Leaden Fumes, ex-NID). Gatefold digisleeve.

BODY STRESS - 'The Silence Hurts The Most' LP (Cipher Productions) - £20

LP issue of Body Stress' final work, previously found on an absurdly limited 4 x C-10 set released by Moral Defeat. The intentionally short tracks further fragment Body Stress' already disruptive harsh noise style - a fierce high-end focus forged through cruelly treated electronics, indecipherable sound source abuse, and libidinous fury. 40 mins. Ltd x 100 copies with collage artwork tweaked from the cassette edition.

DEAD BOOMERS - 'Aspen Liberals' CD (Cipher Productions) - £11.50

The Dead Boomers team of Leith Thomas and Mark Groves (Arum Lilies) spent much of the early '10s honing their incisive Power Electronics live set, while recording a series of penetrating and perceptive releases for a number of Australian labels and some further ashore. The duo may have called it a day, but couldn't stand by without setting their sights on the political and social short-sightedness which the 2021 pandemic produced. Cue "Aspen Liberals", an April 2020 radio broadcast piece of cruel noise, found sound memories, petri dish electronics creations and narrowed vocal delivery which places Dead Boomers' long-targeted upper class elite at the centre of the pandemic's spread. This CD adds a number of tracks written and recorded between 2015-2020; some previously released in now lost editions, and others breaking to the surface for first time. Dead Boomers remind us that the underground will always find a way - and hopefully bring down the elite in doing so. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak with an 8-page booklet.

JUICE MACHINE - 'Deep As A Depthless Pond' CD (Besperech') - £11.50

Nature-based meandering longform drone recordings, letting the sounds of nature take a lead role, with electronics setting the backdrop. Cassette tapes and samples were used for these recordings, with hypnotic, minimal and sparse electronics. These 3 longform pieces (63 mins) can be used as background sounds for everyday living spaces, or as an engaging thought-provoking meditation on human interaction in the vast world of nature. Juice Machine (headed by Chefkirk's Roger H. Smith) work in and around the confined genres of noise, tape music, found sound and drone while focusing on minimal tonal and maximal textural audio, with rhythmic pulses and sharp jabs of uneasy waves. Recorded in the early summer of 2021 in the Pacific Northwest. Ltd x 100 copies (CD proper) in an outsized digisleeve.

KROMESHNA - 'Martyata' CD (Besperech') - £11.50

An album of drone and natural ambient noise from field recordings, dedicated to the spring flood. "When fish enter the fields through channels from the lakes to spawn, you sit on a bump with a spear and wait for the slightest splash. Your gaze drowns in the arms of the sky and water fused together by the sun. Last year's raspy grass has turned into a brown brew under the surface of the water. The rifts quietly murmur and the wind is cut by the grass of marsh knolls. Little spiders, waiting for a new gust of wind, break away from the bog and fly wherever they look. Myriads of transparent threads, saddled by microscopic riders, give birth to bizarre dances that can only be seen here and there. It feels like you've gone deaf and numb after spending all day in the field. Your cheeks are already burning from the sun and wind. Squelching in your wading boots and taking your catch, you quietly leave". Reissue of a very limited cassette (10 copies), originally released on Ostroga in 2018. KROMESHNA + CHEFKIRK - 'Surfaces' CD (Besperech') - £13

A body of sound not limited to a specific topic from Russia's Kromeshna and Oregon's Chefkirk. The travel vector can be directed in any direction and fly away, mired in a myriad of smoothly floating and arbitrarily changing abstractions. "Surfaces" was created with field recordings, and experiments with tape and synths. Mastering by Carl Kruger. Ltd x 100 copies (CD proper) in a unique 16-page art booklet hand-made by the artist with an original technique: pages of the old Soviet magazine "Decorative Art" of the late 80's / early 90's were used in improvisation with a xerox machine, each page finished with an acrylic lacquer.

KROMESHNA + NONPANDORAS - 'Volosatyye Zvozdy' CD (Besperech') - £11.50

A collaboration between two Russian electroacoustic and ambient artists hailing from the areas of the Urals and Siberia. Nonpandoras provide guitar drones while Kromeshna use the sounds of a children's accordion distorted by experiments with tape. This album is dedicated to the infinity of space, Van Gogh and warm deep dreams. "Knowing Kostya's [Nonpandora] passion for guitar drones, I asked him to record material of a certain mood. Memories swirled in my head of listening to one of Steve Reich's works and drawing "scratches" while on a co-educational program in contemporary art in Tobolsk... So we flew into space and coloured abstractions. Simple rhythmic guitar passages, turning into a transparent rumble impressed my cosmic mood... we chose a limited palette of tools: guitar and accordion. Subsequent analogue and digital refinements prepared the work for the desired result" (Kromeshna). Ltd x 100 copies (CD proper) in an outsized digisleeve.

LINGERING ECHOES - 'Perdues' CD (Breath Sun Bone Blood) - £12.50

Lingering Echoes is the most recent incarnation of IHAN (aka Yan Arexis of La Breiche, Coume Ouarnède, Stille Volk, Sus Scrofa, ex-Cober Ord), created in 2000, utilizing electroacoustic music combined with minimal electronics. "Perdues" mixes field recordings captured during winter walks in the Pyrenean forest with the sounds of flat stones and plants treated as electronic micro-percussion to create a deep and telluric soundscape. Grandiose sweeping sonic washes are juxtaposed with recordings of the smallest of sounds, creating a mesmerizing liminal space where time and place are suspended. Uncertain and erratic layers paint lonely winter landscapes and emanations of brittle ice cracking. An unheard echo in space and time. Served by the magnificent photos of Julie Docteur taken in Iceland and Jeanne Saint-Julien taken in the Pyrenees, "Perdues" is a journey both serene and fragile. For fans of Pan Sonic, Labradford, DeathProd, Common Eider King Eider, Lull. Ltd x 100 copies (CD proper) in a 6-panel ultra matte-laminate gatefold eco-wallet with 8-page booklet.

MLEHST - 'Breathing In Dead Flies / C**k Sucking Lips' CD (Oxidation) - £11

"Breathing In Dead Flies" was the first vinyl release by Mlehst pressed at Gramophonov Zavody (pre GZ media) in 1996. The overall sound quality was lo-fi with a wide dynamic range meaning that a lot of the quieter original audio was buried in the rumble of the vinyl grooves. The 100 copy milky clear vinyl LP cemented the Mlehst and bandaged hand produce DIY aesthetic. For this CD reissue, a vinyl LP rip was remastered and repaired with substantial work by "esoteric audio renovations" to create a clearer quality product than the original vinyl. The audio levels and dynamic range have been left similar to the original to preserve its integrity, although some passages of audio have been lifted slightly. "C**k Sucking Lips" is an earlier Mlehst recording and a bit of an oddity, based on very early Mlehst source material (1990/1991) with a demented humorous edge. Very few copies of this cassette album were released (c. 10-20). These recordings are completely at odds with "Breathing In Dead Flies", but do show two sides of Mlehst. For this digital and CD reissue a digital rip has been gently remastered only. Safe to say, this release is not for the easily offended! Digipak.

[MULTER] - 'Basisrealität / Armutsgewöhnungszuschlag / Wolkenkuckucksheim' 3 x LP (Auf Abwegen) - £42

This deluxe three-part LP set is the first new studio material by [multer] in 10 years and can be easily seen as the culmination of their artistic approach and research to date. Over six sides of black vinyl, attentively mastered by Fear Falls Burning, the group employ their strategies. A great sense of place is embedded into the sound through carefully placed field recordings. A common-sense lyrical aspect becomes part of the scenery. Heavy guitar drone layers form a dense and almost overwhelming wall of sound. Distorted rhythms drive onwards and electronics counteract the sequence of events in the next instance. A beautiful, mature and very personal work. Ltd x 100 copies only, with full-size insert with info and lyrics in German and English, plus a download code.

PBK & MODELBAU - 'The Dead Time' CD (Oxidation) - £11

A collaboration between PBK (Phillip B. Klingler), and Modelbau (Frans de Waard of Freiband, Shifts, Goem etc). "Somewhere between woozy droning noise, grim-to-unwell ambience, and general seared-yet-troubled electro texturing. It's a release to put you on edge, creep you out, and unsettling - and I must say it manages to do these with a great amount of success... both projects are long-running, skilled, and prolific sound makers - and together they create a fairly distinctive sound with The Dead Time... All in all, The Dead Time is a most worthy collaboration - and if you enjoy where noise/ambient meet, and breed to create new unsettlement - this is something you'll be wanting to check out this release" (Musique Machine). REYNOLS - 'Fire Music Reloaded' CD (Auf Abwegen) - £12

"Fire Music" was composed by Reynols in 2002 with fire recordings made at Tigre (Rio Capitán) and different locations in and around Buenos Aires. Some of this material appeared on a 20-minute CD-EP in 2002 through Japan's Digital Narcis label, however the complete version of this piece remained unreleased for decades. In a recent search the masters of the whole work were found and rescued from the group's archives. So, twenty years later, the full 58-minute / 6-part version of this piece is finally ready to see the light of day. "Fire Music Reloaded" stands on the most conceptual side of Reynols' catalogue, along with works such as: 10.000 Chickens Symphony, Whistling Kettle Quartet, Computer Music, Gordura Vegetal Hidrogenada or Blank Tapes. The group explores a wide range of frequencies coming from fire as the only sound source. A release which pays tribute to the igneous aurality. Let your ears get on fire! Formed in 1983, Reynols is one of the most notable experimental and cult music groups to ever emerge from Argentina. Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold digisleeve.

SAVAGE GOSPEL - 'Horrors Of Nature' CD (Cipher Productions) - £11.50

Sometimes nothing less than pure harsh bliss will satiate those needs, and Savage Gospel's unapologetic radiance of electronics fury is intended for just that. Incapacitants and Testicle Hazard fans can rejoice that another duo, HAARE's Ilkka Vekka and AVARUS' Janne Laurila has joined those elite pairs who are fighting their way to the sun and shedding ultraviolet furiousness on their way. "Horrors Of Nature" is microcosm blown to macrocosm, energy focused as sound - and mastered for ultimate ear penetration by the unmatched Grant Richardson. Ltd x 200 copies.

SMELL & QUIM - 'Snizz Guzzlers' Cassette (Industrial Coast) - £10

Smell & Quim is the legendary British freeform improvised noise band from Batley, West Yorkshire. Originally released in a miniscule edition of 10 copies (Stinky Horse F**k), this tape was only available at a Paris show in February 1997. "Snizz Guzzlers" is now reissued 25 years later in an unspecified limited edition. C16 tape in j-card sleeve, in an inked presentation envelope. Also includes postcard and sticker. Already sold out from the label - very few in stock!

SRMEIXNER - 'A Silent War' CD (Oxidation) - £11

SRMeixner is the Dark Ambient / Experimental / Post-Industrial guise of the Contrastate founder. "This project started out during the first lockdown as a means of communication and a basis for further recordings (when physical meetings were not possible). Initial inspiration came from the 1980's recycling projects such as "Captured Music" and "Destruct", both released on the Selektion label who described recycling as "a procedure concentrating on materials already existing on their own or as separate sources as a practical base for further reworkings". As the project was progressing news was sent across the world of the death of George Floyd whilst in police custody. Sadly, not a new phenomenon, but a repeat of past events highlighting the unfinished business of needing to change the future. I decided to incorporate the events into the initial theme using words and specific references to carry on a dialogue that interacts with the re-interpretations of previous sound sources" (SRMeixner). STRAFE F.R. - 'Soundless Sphere' CD (Auf Abwegen) - £12

"Soundless Sphere" is the new album by Düsseldorf avant-garde veterans Strafe F.R. Eight pieces combining treated vocals, multidimensional rhythmic structures and heavy electronics forming a bright and lively sonic landscape. The album also emanates a sense of urgency fitting for our times. Strafe F.R. (Strafe Für Rebellion) was founded in 1979 by Siegfried Michael Syniuga and Bernd Kastner. The duo see themselves as researchers on different visual and acoustic levels, emphasising that they not only explore the world of music, but also incorporate elements of knowledge, and thus all usable influences, into their experiments. Their texts reflect their interest in science, history, philosophy, as well as everyday phenomena, mass media, and popular culture. They are absolutely avant-garde, working at the forefront of research - performatively, acoustically, visually, and in a variety of media. STRAIGHT PANIC - 'Flagging: First Four Albums' CD (Oxidation) - £11

Rhode Island's Thomas Boettner (aka Straight Panic) has become an icon in the power electronics scene in a relatively short period of time. Straight Panic began releasing albums in 2014 beginning with the 4 hard to find cassettes featured on this release: "Jouissance", "Sling", "Stalker", and "Mapplethorpe", all originally limited to just 25 copies apiece. "Those who are left-behind, an anachronism of rage, eyes unblinking, heart steeled against the arrows of the adversary. Against humanity". Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with artwork by Boettner, an essay by Isaac Tyler (Closer Bones), and a postcard.

TARAB - 'Rooms' CD (Ferns Recordings) - £11.50

Re-contextualised collected sounds and tactile gestures formed into dynamic, psycho-geographic compositions; half narratives, visceral sensation, false leads and heightened awareness. Though shaped from various recordings of installations and spatial works , "Rooms" is not intended to act as a straight document of these installations. Rather, it explores some of the ideas and methods which emerged from the process, within the space formed by a pair of stereo speakers situated in yet another room. Recorded audio material is explored as a shifting series of perceivable surfaces, textures and depths; traces of places and actions; points in space; vibration of speaker cone and microphone diaphragm; resonant objects acting as small sounding containers within larger containers; movements of air; a constantly shifting set of perspectives; the traces that are left behind; debris gathered up and pawed over. The recorded sound is gathered and understood as partial, fragmentary, incomplete. Ltd x 100 copies in a digisleeve.

MASSIMO TONIUTTI - 'Cava xi.xi.86' CD (Ferns Recordings) - £11.50

CD reissue of a cassette released in 1987, edited by Massimo Toniutti. A unique, beautiful and mysterious work in which sounds are produced somewhere, under the earth, in a cave or cellar. Organic, out of time. "Cava xi.xi.86 serves a vintage akin to what The Legendary Pink Dots or Controlled Bleeding were doing at the same time, just a little more introspective in terms of construction... Toniutti has created a lubricious sound that is bespoke in the most underground of sensibilities" (Toneshift). Remastered from the original tapes, with two unreleased tracks created from records of the same period. Wonderful "floating-concrete" ambient noise, subtle and low-fi, almost all based on sounds from metallic and other objects. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
