The new album from 400 LONELY THINGS, produced by WILLIAM BASINSKI, is a dark ambient, sample-based séance to the Banning Mill - a real-life decaying "mansion" and haven for artists, freaks and misfits in the backwoods of the American Deep South in the 1970s-1990s - and an extraordinary piece of art that lived there.

An archaeological excursion in found sound - wandering through the art and memory of a real place, "Mother Moon" is an origin story for 400 Lonely Things. In the 90's, Craig Varian was fortunate enough to frequent the Mill in the years before it closed. It was here that he was exposed to the artwork of Richard Scott Hill, whose artwork "Minotauress" graces the album cover. His work both captured and fed into the Mill's sinister yet playful undercurrents of mania and depression. This album, born out of that first visit to the Mill, is an imaginary soundtrack to the many years of solitude the Minotauress spent hanging in the musty, secret winding halls of Banning Mill.

Since the days of the Mill (and Varian's subsequent purchase of "Minotauress" shortly before the Mill closed), Craig Varian, along with best friend and late musical partner Jonathan McCall, found a thread of music they'd been consistently making yet had previously failed to notice - melancholic instrumentals with weathered sampling at its core - going back to their earliest recordings in the late 1980's. Eventually, this music was called 400 Lonely Things.

Presented in a 6-panel spot-varnished digipak.

SLEEP RESEARCH FACILITY / LLYN Y CWN - 'Sargo / Posidonia' - out 21 April 23
Ltd LP £17 | CD £9 ... VINYL IN STOCK EARLY!

The ultimate deep listening experience from two masters of dark ambient. A slow descent into the blackened watery abyss, where light cannot reach.

The first release from Sleep Research Facility since 2012's "Stealth" (Cold Spring) is inspired by the deep sea ocean floor. The Canadian-based composer explores notions of awareness and perception in the sub/unconscious listener. Focusing primarily on sound bereft of rhythm based energies, SRF provides an environments wherein the music adds texture to the silence. Using form without structure and concentrating on space as opposed to narrative, SRF entertains the idea that music can reside in the very fabric of sound itself. The brand new material here was created specifically for this split release.

Taking inspiration from the beautiful, but often harsh landscapes and environments of his home on Anglesey, North Wales, Llyn Y Cwn has built on the nautical theme of "Du Y Moroedd" (Cold Spring). These tracks are based on field recordings relating to the ocean, and could be seen as a companion piece to the album. 'Dale Dawn' features a recording of the dawn chorus made from the floating pontoon at Dale, Pembrokeshire. 'Pebble' includes the sound of waves crashing on a Dorset cobble beach, thousands of rocks colliding in chorus. 'Doppler Current Profiler' is based on the sound of an ADCP, an acoustic sonar instrument used to measure water currents - a 600Khz ping slowed to a heartbeat.

Limited Edition LP on audiophile black vinyl for best sound presentation. CD in mini-LP sleeve, replicating the vinyl design. The artwork features a separate front cover design with individual art for each side, making this a true split release.

B.E.F. (post-HUMAN LEAGUE / pre-HEAVEN 17) - 'Music For Stowaways'- out 21 April 23
LP Yellow SOLD OUT! | LP Black £20 | CD £10

The first reissue of seminal early 1980's electronic recordings from the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.), aka HEAVEN 17 / ex-THE HUMAN LEAGUE's Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, with Adi Newton (CLOCK DVA / THE FUTURE), and John Wilson (HEAVEN 17), originally a cassette-only release (1981).

• Ltd x 500 copies on 180g Yellow vinyl (Cold Spring only) SOLD OUT
• 180g Black vinyl
• CD in digipak

Following two groundbreaking albums ('Reproduction' and 'Travelogue'), the original line-up of Sheffield-based The Human League split in half in late 1980. The two primary musicians in the group, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, formed a new production company - the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.) - and signed a deal with Virgin Records to write and produce up to six albums a year. The artists they were to produce would include Heaven 17, their own new band formed with vocalist Glenn Gregory.

B.E.F. would also release their own material, commencing with the music on this collection, which was issued in various permutations in 1981-82. Its initial release in March 1981 was a limited edition numbered eight song cassette entitled 'Music for Stowaways', with 'Stowaways' being a reference to the original name for the then-new Sony portable cassette player - later renamed the Walkman - of which B.E.F. were great fans. 'Music for Stowaways' was intended to be listened to on such a device. The cassette was followed by a seven song LP, 'Music For Listening To', which had a slightly different tracklisting, while other B.E.F. music was utilised for B-sides of early singles by Heaven 17.

This music was among the first recorded by Martyn and Ian directly after their departure from The Human League. Some tracks had evolved from other recordings they were working on at the time, such as 'Groove Thang' - an instrumental version of the debut single by Heaven 17 - and 'The Old At Rest', which derived from a version of 'Wichita Lineman' by Jimmy Webb, their very first recording with Glenn that would subsequently appear on B.E.F.'s 'Music of Quality and Distinction, Volume One' covers album in 1982.

Supporting musicians on 'Music For Stowaways' included Adi Newton of Clock DVA (who had been a member of The Future with Martyn and Ian pre-Human League) on the track 'Uptown Apocalyse', with John Wilson (who provided incredible guitar and bass for Heaven 17) appearing on 'Groove Thang'.

The innovative sounds heard on 'Music For Stowaways' were an inspiration to many aspiring electronic artists. In 2015, Uncut magazine included it in a list of the '50 Greatest Lost Albums of All Time'.

The first new album in 14 years from LULL - the pioneering, isolationist dark ambient project of MICK HARRIS (SCORN, FRET, ex-NAPALM DEATH).

"I finally heard the way of recording, making profound sounds. Lull is purely something I can get lost in, as far as trying to create these imaginary spaces.
LULL is quite natural for me. It's an extension of me. Drifting. Just going to darkness. Into a space. LULL is drifting and droning, discovering more and more what can be done with sound. These soundscapes hugely appeal to me".

CD in a matt digipak with majestic artwork by Abby Helasdottir (Gydja).

A history lesson, recorded in autumn 1989. Unavailable for over 20 years in any format, "Malfeitor" is the classic album from Swedish Black Industrial act Maschinenzimmer 412.

This is evil incarnate, staring into the abyss. With a more lyrical approach than the predecessor "Macht Durch Stimme", "Malfeitor" explores themes of death, with an unequivocal dystopian outlook.

Cavernous heavy industrial, primitive machine rhythms, and cold metallic loops created on old synths with very little post-production. Originally released on LP in 1989 (CMI) this monumental album is now available for the first time since 2001. Also available on digital for the first time ever!

Mastered from the original 4-track tapes.
Matt-laminate digipak with new artwork.

DEAD VOICES ON AIR - 'Abrader Redux' CD - £11 JAGATH - 'Svapna' CD - £11
The third album from the Australian post-industrial outfit is a merciless and visceral assault on the senses. An uncompromising force of harsh post-industrial music created with a wide variety of metals, raw materials, metal grates, a rusted hoist, cement cylinders, field recordings, hammering of various decrepit objects, broken amplifiers, various synthesizers, and the infamous metal coil. Much of the creation and lyrical conceptualisation of the record has been stylised and presented using William S. Burroughs' cut-up method.

Mastering: James Plotkin. Art: Nullvoid (T. Ekelund | Trepaneringsritualen).

The hugely sought-after debut album from DEAD VOICES ON AIR (Mark Spybey of DOWNLOAD / ex-ZOVIET FRANCE, REFORMED FACTION), featuring cEvin Key (SKINNY PUPPY / DOWNLOAD).

"Abrader" blends processed sounds from primitive instruments and found objects into hypnotic loped rhythmic structures, with dark clusters of heavy ambient washes into Organic Panambience, or 'music for the eyes'.

Features previously-unreleased bonus tracks recorded 1994 - taking this masterwork up to 7 tracks and over 67 minutes of exceptional music. Matt-laminate digipak with art by Spybey.

The brand new album from the ritual / industrial / dark ambient act who create music at abandoned industrial locations.

"A portal to another world is located inside an abandoned Soviet-era swamp drain near a residential building in the Zakamsk suburb of Perm, Russia, 58.0122, 55.9623. A ritual was performed here, so now we are living in an inside-out world. This is one of the last recordings inside our Temple - the oil tanks are finally scrapped. Dedicated to the victims of totalitarian regimes".

A vision of a decaying post-industrial age. For fans of: Raison D'etre, Shibalba, Phurpa. 6-panel digipak.

BELL - 'Enigma Calling' LP (Cyclopean Eye Productions) - £20

Nearly 4 years after its groundbreaking debut full length "Secrets From A Distant Star", the mysterious Power Electronics entity Bell returns with a new mini-CD aptly titled "Enigma Calling". Weighing in heavily on its early Berlin electronics influences, Bell's current material dwells on the ruins and embers of post WWII Germany, the Enigma Machine, missile technology and the emergence of bizarre religious cults. Rhythmic, pulsating, trance inducing, "Enigma Calling" builds layer upon layer of humming distortion, arpeggiators and sequencers with subdued percussion in a manner that only Bell can. This is a tribute to early 1970's electronica inspired by a dark end of an era. FFO: Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze. Ltd x 100 copies only in a high-gloss sleeve with full-size insert.
BRUNO DUPLANT - 'Zone Habitable' CD (Ferns Recordings) - £.11.50

Bruno Duplant is a French drone artist. "Zone Habitable" is, as its name suggests, in astronomy and exobiology, a region of space where conditions are favorable for the appearance of life as we know it on Earth and therefore potentially capable of supporting life. extraterrestrial. Like a fiction, Habitable Zone is a translation, a musical interpretation (using various instruments, electronic processing and field recordings) of what this exoplanet could be. 48 minutes of long form minimal ambient drone. "I feel like it's the brightest work I've ever done". Ltd x 100 copies in a digisleeve.
CHRISTOPH HEEMAN - 'End Of An Era' LP (Ferns Recordings) - £22

"Heemann has quite a remarkable catalogue of works to his name. First as a member of HNAS, Germany's answer to Nurse With Wound, then with a solo career, incorporating drones and field recordings, but also with his excellent duo with Andrew Chalk as Mirror, and Timo van Luijk, as In Camera... On the first side 'Time and Again... and Again' is not your typical Heemann piece... In this piece, Heemann puts emphasis on the use of drums, a loop that goes on and on, in the first half of the piece, with sounds going in and out of the mix. Think a bit of krautrock mixed with a bit of dub, but then not sounding like any. In the second half of the piece, it all leans on synthesizers, and the music is eerie and sparse but never becomes a traditional piece of mood music. That side of Heemann is reserved for the other side, 'Time is the Simplest Thing', in which field recordings are heavily obscured by sound effects so that none of the original sounds is easily recognized. In Heemann's well-known style, the music goes through various moods and textures, never stays too long in the same place, yet still has that fine ambient industrial quality. On the cover, he mentions receiving raw sound material from Achim Wollscheid, Asmus Tietchens and Ralf Wehowsky, all peers of Heemann, with Tietchens being the eminence grise of the quartet, which is a fine group of gentlemen" (Vital Weekly). Ltd x 300 copies on clear vinyl.
COPPICE - 'Draw Agreement' 3 x CD (Ferns Recordings) - £17.50

A spatiotemporal synthesis of Coppice's auditory and musical experiments (2009-2022) with custom, prepared, and modified musical instruments and devices. This 3CD set abridges Coppice's first three studies, artificially inserting them into the Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, WI, and binaurally capturing their diffusion across Elastic's CLEAT (Chicago Laboratory for Electroacoustic Theatre), a 16-channel 96-speaker sound system. Part of Coppice's study in Phonography & Fiction (2018-2022). A nesting time capsule that cycles folded time and layered space sound, mechanical rooms, time travel refraction, reflection, and diffusion rotation, turning, and flux. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
CROWN OF ASTERIA - 'Karhun Vakat' CD (Ksenza Records) - £12.50

An album of mesmerizing, atmospheric, Neofolk-infused US Black Metal from one-woman project Crown of Asteria. Adventurous, often breathtakingly beautiful, utterly singular sounds. "The bear (karhu in Finnish), King of the Forest, was the most respected animal of the ancient Finnish forests and still is today. The Birth of the Bear is a very old, probably Paleolithic myth having its roots in totemistic relationship between the powerful animal and the primitive man. As such the bear was the symbol of the whole tribe and a sacred animal. For this reason in some areas it was never hunted. Shamanism was also closely connected to the bear and sometimes the bear was seen as the spirit of a shaman. The most ancient myths of the Northern peoples tell of the marriage of the bear and the primordial Mother of all men. This relationship was later reflected in the rite Karhun vakat or Karhun peijaiset meaning the feast which was held after a successful bear hunt. At this feast the bear was re-united with its family through a symbolic wedding". Originally self-issued in 2016, now remastered and presented in a very limited (70 copies) digipak with new artwork. ELFFOR - 'Frostbitten Pain' CD (Ksenza Records) - £12.50

Reissue of the acclaimed 2010 album from Basque Country dungeon synth / atmospheric black metal act Elffor. "Call it solemnity, call it supreme mastery in the art of ambient "extreme" music, but this is it - Elffor reinventing itself once again... Keyboards set the pace for exquisite atmospheric sounds, martial drums and pure black environmental sounds, with voice of Eöl maintaining an uncorrupted solemnity... Close your eyes and imagine walking through a dark snowy forest... an awesome work of Elffor's pure essence" (Metal Archives)). File next to Summoning, Mortiis etc. Features a bonus 15- minute track. Ltd x 120 copies in a digipak with booklet. Very few copies in stock - act fast!
FUNERAL TEARS - 'The Last God On The Earth' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

Long-awaited new album from Siberian one-man Funeral Doom Metal project Funeral Tears. Five epic tracks (the shortest of which is over 7 minutes!) fittingly created during the worldwide period of isolation and desolation. This new opus is an intelligent journey through the world of atmospheric doom metal salvation and mournful melodies. Inspired by his birthplace of Khakassia, a beautiful region on the shores of Yenisei river, on the step of Sayan Mountains, this is a fine display of mastery of the genre. Nicolay Seredov is also a member of Black Metal act Taiga. 6-panel digipak with pit art.
GARDEN OF WORM - 'Endless Garden' CD (Pariah Child) - £10

It has been seven barren years since the "Idle Stones" by Finnish Doom metallers Garden Of Worm was revealed. But the wait was not in vain. This third full-length album, "Endless Garden", witnesses the trio in full bloom. The sound is both organic and punchy, the songs brimming with life. Collectively, they feel like a breezy spring day with proggy folk hues shimmering in the sunlight and a gentle fragrance of melancholy lingering in the air. Distilled in old oak barrels, they have fermented long beyond humble doomed beginnings yet retained that unmistakably personal cherished character. An album that stands tall, feet firmly in the muddy earth and hands reaching towards the sky, this is a culmination of their craft. Drink deep the heady ambience. It will intoxicate again and again. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with 8-page booklet.
KIYOSHI MIZUTANI - 'Inferior's Betrayal' 2 x LP (Ferns Recordings) - £28

Reissue of the self-produced cassette (Ltd 100) from 1994 on Kiyoshi Mizutani's own Ulcer House label. The album includes five long compositions based on textured noises, metallic percussion, feedback and electronics. Mizutani was a member of Merzbow in the '80s, and has made solo works since 1990. "With Merzbow, Mizutani was the guitarist, and I always assumed (but am not sure of) this is also his preferred instrument in solo work, next to sound effects. But, somehow, I also believe he uses field recordings or objects and contact microphones. The first piece, 'A Calm', is such a piece that sounds to me as if he's scraping contact microphones over rusty shovels and feeding that a bunch of sound effects. Interestingly enough, in none of the five pieces, Mizutani sounds like Merzbow, save perhaps for the feedback orgy of 'Parasite'. ... Mizutani's music sounds like an exploration of acoustic sounds drifting into an electronic world. One could say that this is electroacoustic music, but Mizutani adds an element of improvisation" (Vital Weekly). Ltd x 200 copies.
MERZBOW - 'Antimonument' CD (Menstrualrecordings) - £16

This reissue was remastered in 2014 by Masami Akita and contains extra material for a total length of over an hour. Ltd x 300 copies in a silver foil digipak.

MLEHST - 'Pedantic / Pessimistic' CD (Analogue Masters) - £11

Reissue of an ultra-rare lathe cut from the UK experimental / noise perversions project, founded in 1991 by All Brentnall. Mlehst presents 40 minutes of cut-up noise experiments, with piercing noise, avant-garde / jarring interludes, and metallic drones. A challenging listen. "Pedantic / Pessimistic" was originally produced as a clear vinyl lathe cut in 1998 by the legendary Peter King (and released on Mlehst's own Bandaged Hand Produce), in a tiny edition of 20 copies. King works out of a rural location in Ashburton, New Zealand, carving clear polycarbonate discs into records on a series of lathe-cutting devices. Mastered from original chrome cassette tape (one of the few Mlehst master tapes that still exist) from the original 1998 recordings. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
MORTAR - 'Mortar' CD (Menstrualrecordings) - £12

Originally published on tape in 1995 by Slaughter Productions (ST-T30). Mortar's self-titled cassette fits the bill perfectly for the dead of winter and seasonal hibernation. Mortar's trademark lo-fi sound can be filed under the Death Ambient genre. Horrifing soundscapes using low-resolution and time-stretched samples of classic music. Mortar is the necro project of Moreno Daldosso (Murder Corporation). Ancient times, old stones, sand, dirt, and storms are all present on this excellent 90's Italian cassette. Let this be the soundtrack to your crypt. Remastered from the original tape. Ltd x 100 copies in a fold-out A5 card cover with paste-on art reproducing the original Slaughter Prods release artwork.
NATURALE - 'Meditation Over Mørket' LP (Yoshiwara Collective / Virkelighedsfjern) - £18

Primarily recorded in an old, abandoned house close to Strömstad, Sweden, that eerie ambience pervades the creaking backdrop to this solo album. Written as a lyrical stream of consciousness, it explores humanity's relationship to nature, darkness and the absence of light by tapping into folk, drone and psychedelia. It's an intriguing and somewhat haunting experience quite unlike what you might expect from our Danish protagonist Kristian Andersen, who has proffered hypnotic drift and explosive sounds via his tenure in GAIA, LUCID GRAVE and MÅNESKJOLD. Simply leave behind any preconceptions you might be carrying as you step across this particular threshold. Ltd x 200 copies in reverse-board sleeve.
SENESTRA - 'Stanford' CD (Fourth Dimension) - £11.50

Debut collaboration between Puppy38 (Hiroshimabend) and Alan Rider (Adventures in Reality, Stress, Dance Naked, Attrition, etc.). This album brings together incredible electronic / synthesizer works designed to recreate the sound experience of the notorious Stanford Prison Experiment. A dash of John Carpenter, whispers of early Cabaret Voltaire and a portion of gingerbread stuffed with darkness... "Rider plays the Roland Juno 106, Arturia mini brute, Korg MS20, Korg Mono Poly, Wasp, Boss DR55 and the guitar, while Puppy38 plays Korg Radias, Ensoniq ASR-X, atmospherics and noises... In the Standord experiment, volunteers were used [as] prison guards, and during the experiment, these volunteers became very violent against the prisoners, who were also volunteers, arrested by real police. They were not informed when they would be arrested. The idea was to see how people would exercise given authority of others. It was shut down after six days. The experiment became known as one of the most unethical psychological experiments ever... The music has that dark 80's feeling and sounds like a time machine, bringing back the music of Stress, Attrition, Bushido, Konstruktivists, and We Be Echo, but with no doubt, better equipment these days. Let's call it the sound of British electronic music in the early 80s, progressing from traditional industrial music and moving away from proper harsh noise. The music gets dark and darker, it seems, as days follow... In many ways, all of this, music, idea and packaging, sounds like a re-issue of an ancient cassette... a subtle reminder of the days of musical discovery" (Vital Weekly).
SLEEPWALKER - 'Monument From The Void' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

Enigmatic guitar soundscapes and ambient drone walls from Russia's Sleepwalker, with themes ranging from the mysteries of space to Eastern philosophy, using shamanic and analogue instruments, sound effects and custom pedals for guitar and synths. "Landing squarely between dark ambient and post-rock, Sleepwalker's guitar and percussion soundscapes are both haunting and majestic. The album's four tracks begin with the self-titled opener, featuring cosmic layered guitar drones. The second track, Le Cercle Rouge, couples undistorted guitar melodies with harmonies made up of long-held notes, as well as semi-martial percussion. The percussion becomes more involved, almost tribal, on Dream Cycle, as the guitars produce waves of textures. All of this culminates in Neverending Journey Through the Void, a 29-minute excursion with slow but heavy chording and stark synth melodies. Quieter passages are introspective and reminiscent of dark ambient, while aggressive percussion and guitar, as well as a hint of chanted vocals, drive the more assertive movements to crescendo" (Avant Music News). Features a joint track with Liholesie. Digipak.
SMALL CRUEL PARTY - 'Do You Believe In A Pencil' CD (Ferns Recordings) - £13

Originally published on his own label in 1991, this is the first reissue of the rare first CD release from SCP: "Do You Believe In A Pencil". It is a work with a half-drone-like structure in which metallic sounds that rub against each other intermingle with low-fidelity environmental sounds. A strong intonation style that is different from Jeph Jerman of the same lineage. The original was composed of two parts, (beginning) and (ending), but it has been newly edited into a single 73-minute track. Small Cruel Party is a project started in the late 80's by the solitary French artist William Key Ransone. Comes with brand new different artwork by Abo (Mark Schomburg / Petry Supply). Ltd x 200 copies in a die-cut gatefold sleeve with each copy featuring uniquely printed and pasted art, making each copy one-of-a-kind.
SMALL CRUEL PARTY - 'Thank You' 10" (Ferns Recordings) - £16.50

Reissue of a limited cassette from 2018 (Banned Production), with a Greek title meaning "Thank You". "As always, everything with Small Cruel Party is very cryptic. A nightmare for the reviewer but also a good part of the fun. Everything becomes a form of poetry within the whole body of work that Small Cruel Party presents. The first piece consists of rhythmic flickering that finds its way through various delay pedals, which, as these things go with delay pedals, go in overdrive. I assume many musicians would find this out as unwanted distortion, but William Ransome, mister Party, leaves such things in; all part of the minimal process of the music, I assume. The minimalism of the other side works differently. On the first side, these are waves followed by quieter parts, but on the second side, the minimalism is continuous, with a slow variation. The music does a very slow phase-shifting, and further on in the piece, there is also a loop of percussive sound (a metal cup being struck) and the delay pedals working their magic over time again. Music that is the result of direct action or, perhaps, part of a ritual that happens to also involve music? I don't know, but as with so many works by Small Cruel Party, I found this fascinating music". Ltd x 300 copies in a special j-card sleeve, silk-screen printed by ZYX Éditions, Bretoncelles, Basse Normandie.
THE DADAROTATOR - 'What Is Dadarotator' CD (Menstrualrecordings) - £11.50

Reissue of the one and only album from The Dadarotator (Paul Hurst). Lo-fi industrial noise / power electronics. Tracks 1 & 2 were originally published on tape in 1983 by Produktion, UK. Track 3 was originally published on a rare 1983 cassette compilation on Aquilifer Sodality, Italy. Originally from Tasmania (Cannon) and Australia (Glover and Hurst), the trio formed Produktion when they moved to London in 1978. In London they opened Produktion Hair hairdress salon where they cut "supercuts" while playing Industrial Music all day. Produktion also made super 8 films, animations, fanzines and tapes. Some of their obscure tapes saw them collaborating with artists such as John Duncan, Merzbow, Club Moral, Toshiji Mikawa (Incapacitants) and Nurse With Wound. All Produktion tapes are nowadays very hard to come by and sought after. Remastered from the original tape. Second edition. Ltd x 100 copies (pro-CD) in a card slip with paste-on art. Sold out from the label!
THE NEW BLOCKADERS - 'Simphonie In X Major' CD (Menstrualrecordings) - £12

Reissue of noise classic "Simphonie in X Major" (1989) plus "Simphonie In O Minor" (1991), both originally issued by Hypnagogia. "Simphonie In X Major's two movements push the boundaries of TNB's debut, Changez Les Blockeurs to its logical limit... The two movements contain all that is good in the world of TNB and by extension the Noise world at large, an aural delight that takes in massive amounts of junk-scrape, buckets of nails, cutlery wars, medieval catapults being drawn taught, all of it harnessed into a framework of surround sound tumult" (Idwal Fisher). "Simphonie In X Major uses a sarcastic Dadaist title to conceal an LP of sheer genius filth-noise concoction. A full panoply of sounds: junkyard percussion, revving-engines and industrial power-tools, all providing a sense of unstoppable forward motion. This simphonie is a continual charge forward into the very maw of death" (The Sound Projector). "Simphonie In O Minor is, depending on your point of view, the sound of tape-hiss, an unheard scream in the dark, or the entire history of Noise put through a shredder and reversed back into oblivion" (Idwal Fisher). TNB advocates maximum volume and an inflated equalization of the low and high frequencies for optimum listening. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.

REGEN GRAVES - 'Climax' CD (Pariah Child / Yoshiwara Collective) - £10.50

This is the eerie and cinematic fourth full-length album by esteemed Italian artist Regen Graves, aka Antonio Polidori (Abysmal Grief, Tony Tears). Whilst previous offerings focused on Polish and Eastern German themes, this album explores an alternative milieu inspired by Hungarian visionary, Béla Tarr. Disconcerting dark ambient synths, space/krautrock stylings, sampled sounds, rhythms and narrations are woven into a distinctly engaging body of work. "Electronic and very much in the vein of that cold-war vibe essentially. This harks back to the radiophonic days of sound manipulation and signals that are not quite of this earth being beamed to and from it to orbiting stations... an incredibly effective listening experience and one that is likely to linger in the memory and come back and haunt" (Ave Noctum). Presented in an A5-size digipak.
REGEN GRAVES - 'Herbstlicht' CD (Pariah Child) - £9.50

Rife with tension and eerie electronica, "Herbsticht" depicts a dark space where an uncertain future meets an equally unsettling past. That ominous thread is woven throughout the six dark ambient songs (46 mins). Form and texture shifts along the way... but that sense of unease never really disperses. There are hints of narrative and found sounds lingering in the background. Bringing greater texture rather than meaning, the imagination is left to its own devices, grappling with dread, and dreaming thoughts better left buried. The album cover presents a stark city street with old cars and trees bereft of leaves. The titles allude to autumnal and wintry themes of death and decay. Where will the journey take you? Regen Graves is a member of Abysmal Grief and Tony Tears. Digipak.
THISQUIETARMY x SLEEPWALKER - '8493' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

The first meeting of Russia's Sleepwalker and Canada's Thisquietarmy was at their concert in the Tomsk State Planetarium in 2018. After this iconic 3D show they decided to record this collaboration. 8493 is the distance that separates the musicians from two continents. Sleepwalker is a one-man project from the depths of Siberia, who uses guitars, drones analogue synths and handcrafted instruments to create ambient soundscapes and dark post-rock music with guitar drones. Thisquietarmy is the ever-evolving sonic project of Eric Quach, revolving around improvised guitar-based drone in which he creates expansive, immersive soundscapes through electronic explorations. He is also known for his work with Aidan Baker (Nadja), Syndrome (Amenra), and Voivod. Digipak.

JAN VAN DEN BROEKE - 'Time And Desire' LP (EE Tapes) - £22

"Time And Desire" contains 10 songs and cinematic tales about memory, the journey through life, the passage of time, burning desire, pain, courage and hope... and some soothing miracle moments. Presented here are nine tracks by JUNE11 and one by CANTO DE MUDO, with Jan featuring on electronics, acoustics, samples and voices (with those of Drita Kotaji and Helena Legaz Torregrosa). THORSTEN SOLTAU - 'Gewächse Im Zwielicht' CD (Drone Records) - £11.50

This Friesian multi media artist's compositions combine drone-ambient and electroacoustic elements in a wonderful (sometimes spheric, sometimes bizarre, sometimes melancholic) way, with a strong interest in sonic disintegration, conceptualism and dualism. Various instrumental and electronic sources build a hypnotic, complex and poetic web, with many unexpected twists and turns. Rich sounds with layers only reachable by multiple listening. Each work exposes itself over time with each consciously made playback / perception: Repetition becomes a reward for the listener. This CD combines two complete works: "Gewächse Im Zwielicht" (2019-2021), dedicated to the hidden phenomena becoming recognizable only after closer examination; and "An End. An One Another" (2021-2022), an installation work for the gallery De Groen in Arnhem, Netherlands, working with a choir. Five long pieces with a total time of over 62 minutes. Ltd x 250 copies in a 6 panel digisleeve.
EDLEY ODOWD - 'F(our)-Ward' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

Edley ODowd has collaborated and performed with many musical luminaries such as Genesis P-Orridge, Deborah Harry, Lene Lovich, Tony Conrad, and Shilpa Ray, as well as being a member of Toilet Boys, Psychic TV, Kylesa and Scorpion Tea. "I wanted to create something of nightmares and bliss" ODowd says of the combination of visuals and sound presented on his latest solo release; an hour-long trance-inducing trip through industrial / noise, dark ambient and experimental soundscapes. Initially an ultra-limited cassette release via Flesh Prison/DeathBed Tapes, "F(OUR) WARD" is now presented in an extended, complete version featuring three bonus tracks and expanded artwork. Talking about the unity of two inseparable components of his creativity: "the video clips that accompany these songs are designed to be trance-induced launch pads for the audio and vice-versa... A world within our own, in which we can see and hear new and exciting things". With the videos, shot on various locations in Mexico and Colombia, ODowd's goal was to present a visual environment one could listen to the music within. Ltd x 300 copies in an outsized 6-panel card sleeve.

VOICES OF THE COSMOS - 'Deep Fields' CD (Zoharum) - £12

With "Deep Fields", VOICES OF THE COSMOS initiate a series of activities related to the International Copernican Year, announced on the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus. Rafal Iwanski (X-NAVI:ET, ALAMEDA), Wojtek Zieba (Electric Uranus, Infamis) and Sebastian Soberski (Astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus University) have travelled all over Poland in recent months, promoting issues related to space, especially those related to wave phenomena magnetic and acoustic, giving a series of mini-lectures and concerts in various cultural and scientific institutions. As a result, they collected a huge sound material, from which the best fragments were selected, which fill this album. Soon you will be able to see for yourself how interesting the compositions, based on sounds from space (along with analogue / digital synthesizers, metal objects, and drum machines) were the concert program included on "Deep Fields". Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
BALCANES - 'Gloria Eterna' LP (Màgia Roja) - £18

"If you're looking for the real deal in terms of noise rock, Balcanes is a band you need to hear [...] a true melding of post-punk and industrial/noise to create something hypnotic, unsettling, and powerful. On their new LP, entitled Gloria Eterna, they've pushed their sound even further, and the result is nothing short of stunning - stunning in a way that's closer to the way headlights render a deer frozen in its tracks. From pounding opening to haunting ending, there is not a single dull moment" (CVLT NATION). Martial drums, heavy as a mountain. Guitars that show the most abrasive side of post-punk, verging on power electronics textures at times. The voice and the bass gives it all a layer of punk. Industrial noise and even ambient passages. In the meanwhile other surprises happen along the way, even daring to close with a piano and sax drunken "ballad". FFO: Swans, Big Black, Flipper, Wolf Eyes, Brainbombs, Ramleh, Skullflower, Billy Bao. Ltd x 500 copies on black vinyl with download card.
