NEW COLD SPRING RELEASES 2024
MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO & MERZBOW - 'Extinct'
CD £9.50 (in stock early!)| Ltd LP Red £23 | LP Black £18 - OUT 26th APRIL!

Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube  YouTube  YouTube

Cold Spring is proud to present a unique collaboration between Industrial Breakbeat pioneers MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO (Jack Dangers) and the undisputed king of Japanese noise, MERZBOW (Masami Akita).

"We may not speak the same language, but in the vortex of sound, there's a raw, primal understanding that transcends words. Noise can be art, a visual representation could maybe be Jackson Pollock's No 5, a plexus of chaos redefining what music can and could be. Pushing boundaries with Masami wasn't just a musical adventure, it was a masterclass in sonic anarchy" (Jack Dangers, January 2024).

"Extinct" sees the duo take listeners on a transcendental journey, focusing on the dismantling of beat and structure and recycling the result through layers of beautifully crafted noise and feedback loops, giving birth to new rhythms buried deep in the dirt.

The 20 minute opener '!FLAKKA¡' takes constantly evolving breakbeats which are gradually broken down over time, driven through a filter of harsh noise, destroying the old to give birth to the new. Raw and unforgiving, the track is a behemoth that blends mutant forms of broken beats and hints of dub, creating rhythmic noise of the highest calibre in the process.

'Burner' takes the record to its ultimate conclusion, the initial drum beat broken down so that it is barely recognisable. Pulsating distortion and high end audio fragments bleed into each other as the track lumbers forth and destroys everything in its path before slowly unravelling, degrading and falling apart.

A harrowing yet somewhat cathartic trip through walls of harsh industrial noise and audio degradation, "Extinct" is a masterful pairing of artists who have delivered something truly unique yet totally relevant. Don't sleep on this one! (Todd Robinson / Subunit)

Composed, recorded and produced November 2023 - January 2024 by Jack Dangers and Masami Akita. Art by Abby Helasdottir (Gydja).

Step into the shadows of ancient mysticism as Llyn Y Cwn, the maestro of Welsh dark ambient, unveils the mesmerising odyssey that is "Megaliths".

A profound exploration of the sacred resonance embedded within stone circles, capturing years of field recordings from the silent and enigmatic monuments that stand as timeless witnesses to the ebb and flow of existence.

Ben Powell has crafted a sonic voyage that mirrors the sacred spaces marked by stoic pillars of rock, each track representing a specific site. Delving deep into the esoteric significance of stone circles, the album portrays these structures not merely as historical relics but as religious ceremonial sites where the veil between our world and the eternal realm becomes tantalisingly thin.

Extracting ambient soundscapes from burial chambers, Ben has utilised convolution reverbs to replicate the ominous ambiance of these ancient spaces. A veteran of stone circle exploration, Ben's decades-long journey has yielded field recordings that capture the haunting whispers of wind and the solemn caws of crows, enveloping the listener in a ghostly atmosphere that transcends the ordinary.

Guided by the wisdom found in Julian Cope's "The Modern Antiquarian" and Aurbrey Burl's "A Guide to the Stone Circles of Britain", Llyn Y Cwn embarks on a sonic pilgrimage across the country, exploring the remote bleakness of these sites. The album transitions from the cramped, gloomy chambers of tombs to the unroofed, wide rings - a journey from darkness to light, from the dead to the living, and from the grave to the sky.

"Megaliths" is a ritual, a sonic séance that beckons listeners to commune with the ancient energies that saturate these sacred circles - an atmospheric descent into the heart of mysterious realms, where the boundaries between the earthly and the spiritual blur into an indistinguishable, haunting atmosphere. Embrace the darkness, and let the stones speak. The journey begins now.

Presented in a 6-panel flood-printed digipak with breathtaking photography by the artist.
CORRUPTED - 'Felicific Algorithm / Mushikeras'
CD £11 | T-Shirt £15 - OUT NOW!

  Soundcloud

Corrupted is a mysterious Japanese doom metal band, formed in 1994. Immensely downtuned guitar and crushingly slow bass are shrouded under deep layers of feedback. They are rightly hailed as one of the heaviest and darkest doom metal bands of all time.

This is not a simple reissue of the 2018 multi-speed, vinyl-only release "Felicific Algorithim" (Cold Spring). Though the first two tracks were created using the same field recordings / source material captured in Amagasaki, Osaka, and Fukushima, the tracks have been carefully reworked into a much darker sound. The new track titles 'Felicific Algiorithm' and 'Felicific Aligorithm' reflect this; like a mind virus appearing the same at first glance.

The 27-minute track 'Mushikeras' was recorded 2022-23 as a four-piece line-up of Kaz Mike (howling guitar and bass), Rie Lambdoll (vocal and bass), Mark Y. (guitar and bass), and Chew (drum and high carbon steel). A self-released digital-only track in autumn '23, this is the first physical manifestation of this doom metal behemoth, full of loud sludge, funeral dirge, haunting whispers / howling harsh vocals, and atmospheric build-ups.

6-panel flood-printed digipak with striking photography by Rie Lambdoll, Mark Y, Chew, and collage by Hyng Hoian.

Also accompanying this release is a new Corrupted 'Felicific Algorithm' black t-shirt with white print.

LULL - 'Journey Through Underworlds'
CD £11 - OUT NOW!

  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube

The classic, genre-defining 1993 album from LULL - the pioneering, isolationist dark ambient project of MICK HARRIS of SCORN, FRET, ex-NAPALM DEATH - is a dark journey through the Stygian netherworlds of Hell.

The listener is left with the impression of a final escape into reality; a return upon waking, with only wispy trace memories and the heavy rush of blood-pumping fear as a keepsake.

With this album, we are plunged back into a dark pit of noise - all escape barred, all hope dashed. The nightmare continues, the journey through underworlds descends deeper. These are soundtracks for Nightmares. Despite there being just three tracks on the album, it lasts just shy of 75 minutes.

Originally released on Sentrax (the label of the late John Everall / Tactile), the CD suffered the 'disc rot' fate of many PDO pressings from 1988-1993, rendering most of that initial run unplayable.

Mixed by Justin K Broadrick (GODFLESH). Remastered by Martin Bowes (The Cage Studios) from the original recordings supplied by Mick Harris. Matt digipak with majestic artwork by Abby Helasdottir (Gydja).

OLEG KARPACHEV - 'Sputnik' (Dir: Egor Abramenko) O.S.T. CD £11 SONOLOGYST - 'Shortwave Spectrum'
2CD £13.50
THE TELESCOPES - 'Experimental Health' CD - £11

Released for the first time on any format, the soundtrack to the 2020 sci-fi horror film 'Sputnik' (directed by Egor Abramenko).

The bleak and haunting film is set to an impressively heavy soundtrack by Oleg Karpachev, whose bombastic percussion, stirring strings, and otherworldly synths heighten the unfolding horror on screen.

Set during Cold War Soviet Russia, the ominous film starring Oksana Akinshina (Bourne Supremacy), Fedor Bondarchuk, and Pyotr Fyodorov Jr follows the story of a cosmonaut returning from space with a mysterious extraterrestrial organism; essential viewing for those with a penchant for "Alien"-style body horror.

Immense orchestral dissonance with an industrial edge. File next to Steven Price, Hans Zimmer, Ben Frost, In Slaughter Natives... Matt-finish, flood-printed digipak.

The new Sonologyst "sonic documentary" delves into the secretive realm of shortwave transmissions; a chronicle of clandestine shortwave transmissions culled from a span of nearly four decades (1982-2021). These mysterious transmissions - repetitive voices, signals, sound pulses, short pieces of music - were collated and edited to compose the tracks of the main album.

Immersed in an isolating fog of dark ambient, deep drone music and cinematic sound art, originating from covert radio stations engaged in military and espionage endeavours, the tracks unveil a hidden sonic landscape of strategic communication.

The second disc, in its extensive presentation, provides a deeper immersion into these enigmatic broadcasts. Each recording remains unaltered, accompanied only by a ghostly drone. An unfiltered glimpse into the world of clandestine communication.

Double CD in a matt-finish gatefold ecopak with graphic design by Abby Helasdottir.

The latest chapter in The Telescopes' idiosyncratic exploration of sound combines hallucinatory ballads with transcendent melodies, clanging, and lo-fi buzzes, with a substantial amount of crushing and sound degradation. The result is an album radiating a dark and abrasive, yet ethereal energy.

Created entirely independently by Stephen Lawrie in a remote cottage in West Yorkshire January-May 2022, the record was made with broken toys and cheap synths - mostly Pocket Operators and miniature synths, with no guitars. The complexity of sound rests within the simplicity of the composition and musical arrangements.

Features bonus remixes by Black Market Karma and Mosaic Runes. CD in a matt digipak with art by Stephen Lawrie.

NEW MAILORDER IMPORTS
APEX PARASITE - 'Erosion Of The Will' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

The debut of radical Power Electronics unit Apex Parasite. The sound is clearly situated on the harsher side of the spectrum, offering aggressive crackles and throbbing basslines in perfect interaction. Commanding upfront vocals spew absolute contempt and under all of this, there is a certain sickness and darkness that has made Northern Europe the homeland of fierce Post Mortem sounds. Apex Parasite offers refreshing brutality which could be compared to the past highlights by Green Army Fraction or the leading figures of the German Heavy Electronics tradition. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
AUGMENTED ATROCITY - 'In Search Of Something That Doesn't Exist' CD (Aussaat) - £12

Augmented Atrocity is the project of former Kovana member Janne. Following on from "Anomaly" (2023, Aussaat), this album follows a futile search that goes through beating electronics, haunting tape loops and frantic screams. The sound squirms through the vines of the past with determination, focused purely on something that doesn't exist. "There is a ton of distorted noise music here, yet it is still about more than just playing a load of ugly sounds (as some would perceive noise music to be). Augmented Atrocity knows how to pull back, go deep, turn on a few loops, whisper a few words and have a different kind of creepiness, only to return in full glory (gory) power electronics at the next corner... it reminded me of Genocide Organ and Whitehouse, but on updated machines. Brutal, minimalist synths, strict square waves, piercing right into your brain, but the variation does it for me here. Without those moments of quiet unrest scattered about, the listener can breathe briefly before filling their lungs and diving back in. Now, that is the kind of noise I like" (Vital Weekly). Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
BLACK VAULT - 'Hymns To The Great Devourer' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Prepare to be devoured. Black Vault, a new formation dedicated to pitch-black Ritual Industrial, present an album steeped in dark occult traditions and sinister antihumanism. This Danish act remains loyal to the virtues of the sub-genre while still maintaining a refreshing take. Minimalistic frequencies of necrophile Death Worship, gurgling demonic vocals and stylish percussive elements blend together in a Maelström of devotion and frenzy. Both the lyrics and the overall feel are a testimony to Black Vault's insights into the forbidden lore and practices shunned and condemned by the general public. "Hymns To The Great Devourer" delivers an atmosphere harking back to the 90's Scandinavian scene - nothing short of crushing. Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed). Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
BROKEN WALLS - 'Nightmare Therapies' MCD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

The German / Dutch Harsh Noise duo Broken Walls returns with their first full length CD. Very personal and intriguing material somewhere between old school approach and the benefit modern approaches offer. As the title suggests, there is a certain nightmarish and disturbing quality to the depths of crackles and distortion here. There is a lot to explore in these slabs of violence and menacing low rumbles - constant movement, buried vocals expressing existential angst and hatred, strong build-up and precise mastery of gear. Deliciously treated feedback grows into almost HNW type constructions, with a strong atmosphere all around. The duo portrays the power that accompanies skill and the beauty that is loud and live pure Harsh Noise. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN - 'Rampen (APM: Alien Pop Music)" 2 x LP YELLOW (Potomak) - £55

The super deluxe edition of Einstürzende Neubauten's new album, "Rampen". They search for new forms - pursuing undiscovered sounds and unspoken words; constant evolution is the best way to describe Einstürzende Neubauten's body of work. In its 44th year of existence, the band is going back to its roots while redefining itself. It's a change in self-image, for which the Berlin quintet plus one has created its own genre in 2024: APM - Alien Pop Music. Blixa Bargeld, N. U. Unruh, Alexander Hacke, Jochen Arbeit, Rudolph Moser and Felix Gebhard present themselves from their most unpredictable and unconventional sides. Since the mid-80's, Einstürzende Neubauten have been experimenting on stage with what they call "ramps": public improvisations with open developments and outcomes; launchpads into the still unexplored that the band performed in 2022 during the encore on its last Alles in Allem tour, and those recordings served as the basis for this new album. "Rampen" is pop music for parallel universes and in-between worlds - for hyperspaces and interzones. It is microcosmic and intergalactic at the same time. There's a return to the roots on one side, while a new art form emerges on the other from powerful eruptions of noise encountering cryptic, often fragmentary lyrics: popular music for aliens and outcasts. A balancing act between avant-garde and tongue-in-cheek, provocation and pop-cultural discontinuity, with themes of change, utopian mind games and transience. This album represents the next step in evolution, where the familiar language is finally left behind. Ltd x 5000 hand-numbered copies on yellow vinyl. Presented in a stunning embossed sleeve and comes with A2 poster and 5 photo cards.
GRIMOIRE DE OCCULTE - 'Sinister Rituals' MCD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Grimoire de Occulte (Baal and Philosoph), have left their days of Death Metal behind them, here cementing their Ritual Industrial musicality. One of the most convincing traits of "Sinister Rituals" is the physicality of the sounds. Mediatative percussion forms a solid narration, while analogue synthesizers sputter verses from an inhuman chthonic sphere of transformation. Tibetan instruments and others fashioned from human bone were used alongside the analogue electronics and percussive instruments. Highly organic samples and textures pop between the deep and soothing drones and the overall feel of creepy transgression and ecstasy. One is sometimes reminded of the glorious days of Nekrophile Records or the current cream of the crop such as Halo Manash or Haare. "May the ritual be the key to the hidden gates deep in your subconscious and may this recording help you on your path of enlightenment". Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
HAARE - 'Submagic' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Finnish Drone-Noise master Haare (Ilkka Vekka) needs little introduction, with releases stretching back over two decades, on revered labels such as Old Europa Cafe, RRRecords, Freak Animal, Cipher Productions, Total Black, Aussaat, 4iB Records, and more. The sounds on "Submagic" are carefully crafted and perfectly arranged. Drawn out waves of modulated bliss dominate the tracks, balancing liberating sonic minimalism and sophisticated spherical nuances that grow from unknown places and melt back into that black pool of droning radiance. "Submagic" once again delves into themes of occultism; being heavily influenced by Thelema and 70's occult revival aesthetics, Haare crafts the perfect soundtrack for the mauve zone and astral wanderings. Nothing short of a mystical journey, "Submagic" is a mandatory experience for the connoisseur of deep Electronics and Noise Drone. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
KHARA - 'Mandragora' CD (Sketis Music) - £11.50

Folk music can be not only fiery and philosophical, but also unexpected. The Khakas avant-garde shamans from the band Khara understand this well, and present a combination of brooding Russian melancholy and the drive of folk-rock. Deep ballads with a social context and hooligan rock replace each other on this album in the spirit of a mental kaleidoscope. This ethnic shamanic rock from heart of Khakassia (a republic in southern Siberia, inhabited by a Turkic indigenous people) will appeal to all fans of folk-rock and ethno-punk styles, with shades of avant-garde jazz, Sayan blues, and unrestrained improvisations. Digipak decorated with drawings by Alexander Pakhtaev.
MURDEROUS VISION - 'Mechanical Collapse In Six Stages' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Active since the late 90's, American artist Stephen Petrus has created an abundance of venerated and well-executed releases under the moniker Murderous Vision. With previous releases delving deep into Dark Ambient waters, and others delivering full-on Death Industrial with Power Electronics brutality, "Mechanical Collapse In Six Stages" is his newest landmark release. There is a feeling of desolation and underlying brutality that shapes the six lengthy tracks. Upfront blackened walls, mechanical patterns and shrill screams evoke a feeling of post-apocalyptic wastelands and total annihilation. As the work progresses, Murderous Vision ramps things up with that highly cherished brutality known from previous exploits, making the last third of this amazing album truly liberating and harsh. Features guest vocals from Post Scriptvm and The Vomit Arsonist. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
NARECHIE - 'From The Town' CD (Sketis Music) - £11.50

The second album of Narechie continues with their folk music style surrounded by jazz and new age. However, there is noticeably more rock here, akin to the early albums of Inna Zhelannaya and Ochelie Soroki. The new album is also more experimental, evidenced by the reworked versions of the tracks from the debut album, as well as the vocal composition 'Postovaya (On the Yerdan)'. Of special mention is two versions of the rare folk song 'Kupalskaya', which open and close the album. The band refuse to do regular concerts or tours, adding to the mystery of their experiments fusing folk, rock, jazz, new age and more, despite all the shocks of the new realities of the world. Digipak.
OPYCHAM - 'Where To Find Peace Of Mind' CD (Sketis Music) - £11.50

From pristine natural folk minimalism to daring experiments and improvisations, the new album from Opycham is a collection of spiritual poems recorded by Evgeny Tkachev with the help of friends. Opycham's creativity is not just music; it is a holistic worldview for eternal values, gaining integrity, happiness, and love. The album is about spiritual searches for meaning and purpose, and for a person lost in the information storm of megacities. Drum rhythms, Jew's harp melodies, spiritual poetry, throat singing and a deep understanding of the world is gathered with the philosophical wisdom and life experience of the author. Spiritual verses of Russian Old Believers for those who are lost in the external material world. The digipak features beautiful artwork by Vera Petrova (Ministry of Eternal Life), based on an ancient fresco from an abandoned Orthodox monastery.
RUNARA - 'Way Of The Sun' CD (Sketis Music) - £11.50

Runara mix heavy folk, world music, and art rock, drawing inspiration from the Altai mountains of their native Siberia to create their beautiful songs and melodies. Folk music has become an integral part of their lives, which includes holding master classes in Russian folk music. Their concerts are invariably distinguished by the atmosphere of complete immersion in the magical world of the goddess Runara, where the unity of people and nature is harmonious, forest metaphysics and the inner worlds of everyone. Their debut album, created over a three-year period, includes instrumental vocalisation tracks and ballads, which organically coexist with heavy ethno-progressive tracks and incendiary folk-rock. An integral part of Runara's music is harmony in three dimensions: within yourself, within the group, and within the natural landscapes surrounding you. Digisleeve.
SA BRUXA - 'Ritual' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

The music of Italian artist Sa Bruxa (Guiseppe Novella) is dedicated to the dark sonic art of ritual industrial and ancient truths of spiritual achievement. "Ritual" displays Sa Bruxa's craftsmanship; a complex arrangement of different styles, blending ritual bells and chants with slow drones and ambient soundwaves, while also including throbs and oscillations usually found in the murky past of Death Industrial. However, it is by no means an uninspired genre mix, but an intelligent and stringent work of sonic sorcery that truly transcends genre boundaries and creates something new. Building up on past elements and blending the old with the new, "Ritual" is inflused with certain elements reminding of the most ambitious ritual Industrial projects like Shibalba, Phurpa or Halo Manash. Organic sounds of water and air mixed with ritual instruments conjure up a feeling of sincere spirituality, always with a firm eye on compositional flow. A true beast of an album. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
SCATMOTHER / CHAOS CASCADE - 'The Insignificance Of Human Life' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Four years these two tyrants of German brutality unleashed "Sacrificial Rites Of Devotion", they return with a a new split album. Scatmother analyses the profane aspects of worldly nihilism: self-hatred, drug addiction, self-harm and Harakiri - worship of death and demise. The compositions are based on a harsh crunch reminiscent of acts like Vomir, Werewolf Jerusalem and the early Days of Filth and Violence, while staying faithful to the ever-expanding formula of Harsh Noise Power Electronics that defines Scatmother. Chaos Cascade takes over with black waves of distortion and feedback narrated by demonic vocals; the sonic equivalent of faceless Lovecraftian entities determined on total annihilation. Unhinged, but still grounded on classic analogue PE virtues. "The Insignificance Of Human Life" is another work of ugliness and spite intended for the very few. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
SIST EN 343 / DAVE PHILLIPS - 'Thinking Future Coexistence' LP (Debila Records / Noise Mafia / & / I Shot God) - £19

Split release from Slovenian noise act Sist En 343, and radical Swiss sound artist Dave Phillips. Established in 1999 as one of the first ambient / harsh / noise projects in Slovenia, Sist En 343 (Matjaz Galicic & Miha Novak) was influenced by the ugliness of the harsh reality of the (post) industrial world. This is just their second appearance on vinyl after a 7" on RRRecords. Dave Phillips (Schimpfluch-Gruppe, Fear Of God). has been a purveyor of radical sound since the mid 80's. Working solo since 1987, dp has developed a unique sonic language typified by sharp compositional techniques and strong environmentalist connotations. Black vinyl housed in a reversecard gatefold sleeve with artwork by Matjaz Galicic using photos by Dave Phillips. Includes two inserts, one by each act: a two-sided A3 insert by Sist Sn 343, and a four-sided A3 insert by dp printed on recycled stock.
SOMA - 'Me Dais Mucho Asco' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Soma is a Harsh Noise outfit from Spain with a plethora of releases on labels such as Marbe Negre, Nil By Mouth, and L.White Records. This 50-minute assault can be described as a sheer unending storm of harsh noise blasts consisting of modulated frenzy, thick distortion, rumbling lows and piercing highs. There is always something happening, fleshy sounds and loose loops dissolving into ravishing whirls and tons of tension. Some elements hint towards the past history of Japanese Noise, while the sudden eruption of vocals still makes for the heaviness of classic Power Electronics. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies.
TEHO TEARDO & BLIXA BARGELD (EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN) - 'Live In Berlin' 2 x LP (Spècula) - £32

The new album by Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten), was recorded live at Sonic Morgue, Berlin, 6 December 2022; a concrete cellar in the grounds of a former crematorium. The unforgettable evening of powerful yet fragile pieces featured Blixa's signature high-pitched screeches, howls, growls and whispers, with Teardo playing his large array of instruments. The duo were also joined on stage by cello, bass clarinet, as well as a string quartet. "Live In Berlin" closes the circle of the albums "Still Smiling", and "Nerissimo", containing the complete setlist from the concert, and is a summary of those previous two records. Opened by the song 'Nerissimo', the concert was part of a series of European dates culminating in the Berlin gig - a sort of homecoming for the duo that has made the Rome / Berlin axis a membrane continuously crossed by sounds and words in Italian, German and English. The song 'A Quiet Life', originally written for the film of the same name directed by Claudio Cupellini, has severed some of the connection it had with the film because many now associate it with the final episode of Dark, the highly successful Netflix series.
TEHO TEARDO & BLIXA BARGELD (EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN) - 'Nerissimo' LP (Spècula) - £24

Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten)'s album "Nerissimo" the result of a special bond, both artistic and personal, where the duo reinvent their relationship to explore new territories. The cover artwork for "Nerissimo" was inspired by a painting from Hans Holbein the Younger titled The Ambassadors (1533). Embedded in the painting are enigmatic references to philosophy, religion, mortality, and illusion, which connect to some of the themes in the album. "Nerissimo" is the Italian superlative for black ("the blackest") and there is something very black about the music on this record. That doesn't mean, however, that it is "dark" as the adjective is commonly applied to music: as the colour black contains all colours, the music contains a multitude of possibilities. Written and sung in German, English and Italian, the songs stretch from microscopic dramas played out in a Petri dish ('Ulgæ') to the surreal epic and cosmic seven minute journey 'Animelle'. The title song 'Nerissimo' opens the album in its English version and closes it with the Italian version, bracketing the album like bookends. New to this collaboration is the use of woodwinds, especially the bass clarinet (played by David Coulter), which plays a deep and very significant role in several of the new songs, amid an arsenal of bells, Teho's baritone guitar and the arrangement of classical string instruments. Together their sound forms a pear-shaped frequency spectrum to warmly envelope and support Blixa's low mellifluous voice. Heavyweight 180gm vinyl. Comes with full-colour inner sleeve with lyrics, plus a download card for the album including a bonus track.
THE MOSSES PROJECT feat. RADIK TULUSH & BARDOSENETICCUBE - 'Ishtii Daglar' CD (The Lollipoppe Shoppe) - £11.50

The Mosses Project is a psych-folk / ethno-ambient project from Eduard Dragunov and Igor Potsukaylo of Bardoseneticcube, a dark ambient / industrial project from St. Petersburg. This album came to life thanks to the initiative of long-time friend and collaborator Yuri Elik, a former VJ for Ole Lukkoye and member of fantastic group 2012. The album also features Radik Tulush from Tuva, a former member of Yat-Kha and part of Huun-Huur-Tu since 2004, who contributed voice, throat-singing, khomus, igil, and shoor. Eduard Dragunov also brings throat-singing, as well as didgeridoo, dungchen, khomus, kaluka, and singing bowls, while Igor Potsukaylo adds noises and electronics. Gatefold digisleeve with photography by Yuri Elik.
VOZVRASCHENIE - 'For Children of Birds' CD (Sketis Music) - £12

"For Children Of Birds" is a beautiful and soulful album for all music lovers in these difficult times. It is designed for thoughtful listening and complete immersion. The hallmark of Vozvraschenie is the combination of Sergey Kanunnikov's lyrical vocals with Ilya Kudryashov's dashing ethnic winds, and a vigorous rhythm section of acoustic bass and percussion competently forging the structure of the composition. Features guests: throat singing and igil from Nachyn Choreve of Tuvan group Hartyga; balalaika from Denis Zabavsky, gusli from Mikhail Vyrin (Medvezhy Ugol), and vocals from famous composer, poet, and author Pavel Fakhrtdinov. Digipak accompanied by fold-out poster booklet.
WOMB11 - '(-)' LP SKULL WHITE (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £23

Limited vinyl reissue of Womb11's debut album - the rancid and decomposed Nekro Industrial act, hailing from the bleak and desolate wastelands of Russia. In many ways the sounds reflect this hostile environment; slow and churning dark throbs, clatters and sound waves form a cobweb of deathlust and dark magick. One thing that is especially striking is the analogue nature of the music. Classic Industrial weaponry like the MS10 live up to their long-lasting legacy and the deep and full waves interact with percussion created with real bones and human remains. There is a feeling of minimalism and trance-like repetition that is mastered skillfully, reminding the listener of absolute classics like Zero Kama, Halo Manash and Korpses Katatonik. The tracks find a very unique space located somewhere between Ritual and Death Industrial while maintaining a lot of character and a refreshingly unmodern approach. Revelling in death worship, the sinister and the macabre, Womb11 drag the listener into fields of death and the stench of open graves. Ltd x 100 copies on 180g Skull-White vinyl in a 350gm sleeve. Comes with full-size insert and a folded A2 poster.
YAT-KHA - 'We Will Never Die' CD (The Lollipoppe Shoppe) - £11.50

Yat-Kha, from the remote Russian republic of Tuva, presents its eighth album. Albert Kuvezin's ultra-low variant of Tuvan throat singing, in the kargyraa or kanzat style, still remains the unique feature of Yat-Kha's mixture of traditional folk music and experimental roots rock. On this new album Kuvezin is accompanied by his long-term musical accomplice Sholban Mongush on igil (a bowed horsehair 2-string cello) and backing vocals. Besides original compositions, the album features words gathered from the sayings and incantations of Tuvan shamans - whose traditions form an unbroken lineage dating back to the neolithic period. It also features covers of Black Sabbath's 'Solitude' and George Harrison's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' - two songs sometimes played as an encore on live shows. An extraordinary band who in many ways blazed a trail since the early 1990's for many new and interesting East Asian rock music artists and experimenters such as Mongolian metal-rock band The Hu. "We Will Never Die" was recorded in southern Germany in the Faust Studio of Krautrock legend Hans-Joachim Irmler. Digipak.

ALEXEY TEGIN (PHURPA) - 'Gyer - Sacred Tibetan Music Of Bon Tradition' CD (Sketis Music) - £11.50

Alexey Tegin is the founder member and leader of PHURPA, a practitioner of the sacred ritual of Tibetan pre-Buddhist Bon tradition. Being a rather traditional than industrial record, "Gyer" can nonetheless to be compared with such industrial ritual legends as Sigillum S "Bardo-Thos-Grol", early Ain Soph and Current 93, since it is far more darker than anything you would normally find on the ethnic / traditional music albums. With genuine throat singing, shivering Tibetan bells, and a range of traditional instruments (horns, bells, flute, percussion), let "Gyer" put you in a trance. This was Alexey's only solo album and was recorded 5 years before the formation of PHURPA.
DER ARBEITER - 'Amor Fati' CD (Ur Muzik) - £11.50

Eleven years after the release of Der Arbeiter's acclaimed album "Holzwege", Juan A. returns with "Amor Fati" - his most accomplished creation so far. The electro-folk signature sound of this long-running act is still present on this album, yet obtains more analogue and organic veneer resulting in a mature work of oneiric and almost mystical character. Drawing his main inspiration from Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of Amor Fati ("love your fate") and including selected texts by Heraclitus, Martin Heidegger and Lou Andreas Salome, the latest opus by Der Arbeiter is both a musical and spiritual feast. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak.
DER ARBEITER - 'Holzwege' CD (Ur Muzik) - £11.50

Following the acclaimed debut album "Reflejos del Sol" (2004, Divine Comedy Records), Der Arbeiter release their second opus, "Holzwege". Ten songs conceptually inspired by the work of Chilean writer Miguel Serrano, and his conception of Minne ("a love at once illicit and morally elevating, passionate and disciplined, humiliating and exalting, human and transcendent"). In musical terms, Holzwege is an alchemical mix of electro-folk with a slight mediterranean taste, which gives it a unique and distinctive sound that moves away from the well known clichés of the neofolk-martial scene. An original and inspiring work, made in Chile, arising from the ruins. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.
THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK - 'March Of The Infidels' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

Limited re-issue of The Soil Bleeds Black's sophomore album, "March of the Infidels" (1997). Maturing in their approach to synthetically executed neo-medieval music, the album exemplifies what may be the band's least organic recording. The production is smooth, crisp, almost adopting a midi-like atmosphere. The album helped expand the band's audience and remains perhaps the most celebrated of their first three works. Features a guest appearance by Cernunnos' Woods. Includes three bonus tracks. Digipak.
THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK - 'May The Blood Of Many A Valiant Knight Be Avenged' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

Limited reissue of The Soil Bleeds Black's third album, thematically based on the tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. TSBB's third album explores their early experimentation with authentic instruments, incorporating percussion, guitar and various woodwinds and whistles. Immaturely conceived, the album maintains a farcical and theatrical approach projecting its own entertaining and enchanting character. Includes four bonus tracks including a rendering of the celebrated Irish folk song, 'The March of Brian Boru'. Digipak.
THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK - 'Medieval' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

After a long hiatus The Soil Bleeds Black return with a new album spanning seven years of intermittent recording sessions. "Medieval", a simple and unswerving title embodying the band's art is also a reflection of their latest material, conceived in a modest manner that recalls the organic sensation of a live setting as if the listener were themselves transposed in a grand medieval hall, relishing a small band of charming minstrels. While some songs uplift with jovial melodic hooks, others are yet brooding and carry an underlying dark folk sentiment throughout. Summarily, "Medieval" is a maturing of TSBB's art, nurtured with care and delivered in an honest pseudo-medieval fashion. Digipak.
THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK - 'The Kingdom And Its Fey' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

Limited reissue of The Soil Bleeds Black's debut album, originally published by Cruel Moon International (Cold Meat Industry) in 1996. The album documents the early passion and atmosphere cultivated by the band and their foray into synthetically created medieval-inspired sounds. Raw in its inception, "The Kingdom And Its Fey" remains celebrated for the unique aura it presents. Features the bonus track, 'Earthe Took Of Earthe'. Digipak.
WOMB11 - '(-)' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

The debut album from the rancid and decomposed Nekro Industrial act, hailing from the bleak and desolate wastelands of Russia.

HANDFUL OF SNOWDROPS - 'Land Of The Damned (35th Anniversary Edition)' CD (Twilight Records) - £12

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Handful Of Snowdrops' seminal first album, 'Land Of The Damned' is available on CD for the first time in nearly 15 years. Handful Of Snowdrops are a pioneer band in the Canadian Electronic New Wave / Coldwave scene and its debut has reached near mythical status. This reissue features 6 additional tracks, including 2 never-before-released on CD demos from 1985 - 'Face To Face' and 'The Keep' - in addition to the original 8 tracks. In 1986, the third lineup of the band consisting of Michel Mercier, Jean-Pierre, Christian Lefebvre, and Michel Plamondon, recorded a four-track demo containing what would to become their most famous song, 'Gabrielle'. These four tracks would become the basis for their first album, 1988's 'Land Of The Damned', the first and only release on the short-lived Montreal independent label Lisp. Their editor would later take this recording to New York City, where he met with Woodrow Dumas of Louisiana's C'est La Mort Records (Controlled Bleeding, Area), who offered to release "Land of the Damned" in the U.S. two years later. The rest, as they say, is history. Digipak.
CRANIOCLAST - 'Kolik-San-Art' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

Almost 40 years after its first release, "Kolik San Art", the second Cranioclast album from 1986, is available for the first time on CD. This is perhaps the Cranioclast album with the most guest musicians and the greatest blending of acoustic or 'conventional' instruments, electronics and field recordings, sometimes with echoes of ancient music. Words about music and sounds are like words about wine and, in this case, old wine. So there should only be few words (on music) - as always with Cranioclast. Guests include: The Satanic Organist Hans Magnus, Chi Moja (Core), Kerstin & Fabian, Ave Maria Avida, and Ace Bee Coolberg. The extensive artwork of the original LP has been congenially transformed into a new design by Deison. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
WHITE STAINS - 'Dreams Shall Flesh (Redux)' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

"Dreams Shall Flesh" was the second studio album in White Stains' discography, originally released in 1991 (Psychick Release PCP). This "Redux" edition has been enriched with bonus recordings, found in Carl Abrahamsson's (Cotton Ferox) private archive, which have never been published before. We are still dealing here with Darkwave music with elements of Goth Rock. However, a new direction is increasingly felt here, which would be fully developed over the following albums. In these songs with a 'typical' song structure, there is more space for a slightly atmospheric, slightly psychedelic aura, which is reflected in the final sound that the band achieved on this material. This is especially noticeable on the additional songs, which perfectly complement this new version. The material has been remastered again and has a new graphic design. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
FLESHPRESS - 'Viimeinen Saavutettu Tahto' CD (Kohina Records / Kult Of Nihilow) - £12
FLESHPRESS - 'Viimeinen Saavutettu Tahto' LP (Kohina Records / Kult Of Nihilow) - £20

In their lengthy saga of blackened sludge lacerated with deep wounds of pure insanity, Fleshpress present their eighth studio album. Well-known as one of the first Finnish sludge doom bands, their current sound features more experimental elements, including influences from industrial projects like Swans and Einstürzende Neubauten. Fleshpress contains members from the Finnish noise project Grunt and both members of Pain Nail.

CD: 6-panel digisleeve.

LP: Black vinyl edition, comes with a full-size, double-sided insert. Random copies include a promo flyer.
UTON - 'What On Earth Are We Doing Here' CD (Cheeses International) - £10.50

Uton is an experimental music and noise project by Finnish artist Jani Hirvonen, best known recently for his harsh noise project Yksi. Active since 2001, Uton has released just shy of 100 albums, among which are collaborations with the likes of Anla Courtis, Campbell Kneale, Valerio Cosi, Creation VI, Bardo Todol, Yoshihiro Kikuchi, Head Boggle, and Clay Figure. On this new album Uton dives into the psychedelic and experimental electronic sea, with improvised acoustic and electric instruments, and "studio trick" additions. 57 minutes of slow and colourful soundreams to the other realm within. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
PARANOIA INDUCTA - 'Blood Electric - Special Edition' CD (Heerwegen Tod Production) - £12.50

The new release from Paranoia Inducta is a concept album filled with magic, mysticism and esotericism, rooted in both the virtual and real worlds. Over 50 minutes of mystery: this is addictive and terrifying dark ambient / hypnotic death industrial / ritual drone music bringing to mind dusty distant planets, ritualistic temples and apocalyptic death cults. The album is a little unusual and different from the usual Paranoia Inducta style. "The pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Parmenides taught that the only things that are real are things which never change... and the pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Heraclitus taught that everything changes. If you superimpose their two views, you get this result: Nothing is real" (Philip K. Dick). Features guest vocals from musician, graphic designer and writer Kenji Siratori - who brings an atmosphere of Japanese horror to the tracks. Nighttime listening recommended! Special Edition, presented in an A5 digipak.
KNURL - 'H2T' CD (Absurd Exposition) - £11.50

"H2T" is surprisingly the first Knurl album recorded in a professional studio (Hotel2 Tango, run by Godspeed You! Black Emperor). It features unreleased material from 2001, with the sounds produced using a car spring, fan blade, and a handfile. "Like a Freight Train crashing blistered frequencies through my house against rip-roaring distortion tearing apart the air and house tumbling down feedback rumble drone attack as the train just keeps plowing through. F**k yeah, Train!! Lots of movement, never static, but not fast, giving time for really absorbing and enjoying the destruction of sounds. Bonus points for an awesome cover" (Happiness, Forever). Knurl has been the 'junk' noise project of Alan Bloor since 1994. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak with design by Chris Gibson.
BETELZEUS - 'Shedding The Skin' LP CLEAR (Interstellar Smoke Records / Violence In The Veins / Superlord Recordings) £20

The second album from the Finnish sludge doomers wraps the listener in grief and darkness. Betelzeus' sound has taken a step towards a more atmospheric and fragile expression. The music floats somewhere between sludge and post metal but the band has still not lost their original sound. It's more like a continuation of where the debut album ended. Recorded, mixed and mastered to the highest audiophile quality by Tom Brooke @ Tonehaven, known for his work with Oranssi Pazuzu, Throat etc. Limited Edition clear vinyl in a reverseboard sleeve, with incredible artwork by Petra Oravakangas. Comes with full-size insert. The video for 'Leech' comes highly recommended!
IMPAKT - 'Burnout' CD (Satatuhatta) - £11.50

Impakt is a regressive combination of high speed freestyle junk noise and electronics overload. No effort has been spared to deliver a fast moving freight train of bricks and porcupines crunching through your walls and / or eardrums. When the velocity is too high the G-force will take care of the rest. Bones will snap like potato chips at a marathon of George A. Romero movies. "Burnout" is the first album of this collaboration between Finnish lardmongers MT (Unclean, Stinkfinger) and PD (Kartio, Umpio). Circuit Overload, Fractured Metals, Ear Exploding Serenity And Pure Energy. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
