VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Noise Forest'
CD £9.50 Adv. | 2LP Black £23 Adv.| 2LP Forest Green £25 Adv. - OUT 6th DEC!

 Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube

A classic compilation that emanated out of Osaka, "Noise Forest" brings together a powerhouse of early 90's Japanese noise stalwarts: MERZBOW, C.C.C.C., SOLMANIA, DISLOCATION, MONDE BRUITS, MASONNA, VIOLENT ONSEN GEISHA, and INCAPACITANTS.

The ultimate Japanoise collection, originally released in 1992 on the cult Les Disques Du Soleil label / record store on CD-only, and now impossible to find. Remastered and presented here on deluxe 2LP in matt-laminate gatefold sleeve (first time on vinyl) and new CD edition, all with new artwork.

A forest isn't something normally associated with noise; it brings to mind silence and solitude. However, the ominous cover art here - and the artists within - bring to mind the notorious suicide forest Aokigahara. Despite all tracks falling into the Japanoise genre, the tracks are very diverse, yet every track is so distinct it could only be by that artist.

"One of the most unique and stand-out noise comps of the 90's".

For mini-reviews of each track, please visit the release pages, or listen to Noisextra's 'Noise Forest' special!

We proudly present the first ever release of PITCHSHIFTER's legendary BBC sessions for the late, great John Peel.

These ultra heavy industrial metal tracks were recorded over two sessions at the iconic Maida Vale studios: 28th April 1991 and 30th March 1993 and were sourced directly from the BBC Archives (with thanks), with careful remastering for CD and vinyl. The 1991 session was recorded during the same period as "Industrial" (Deaf Records / Peaceville), with the 1993 session recorded around the time of "Desensitized" (Earache).

PREMIERE AT CVLT NATION

"If you look on your PITCHSHIFTER albums you will see that we always credit John Peel. He was instrumental in getting the band out there and often played our music on the radio when no one else dared. The 'Peel Sessions' we did were a great honour and every time I met John he was always such a great guy... a legend" (JS).

Founded in Nottingham in 1989, PITCHSHIFTER's early style was heavy industrial metal, being cited as one of the originators of the genre along with Godflesh - a style which they termed "Death Industrial". These sessions and albums mark the end of that classic period, before a shift towards the more commercial, beat-driven Industrial style from the mid-90's onward that they are still known for.

BESTIA ASTRUM - 'Fury 161'
CD £10 Adv (£12 after) - delayed: out 30 Nov

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download  YouTube

The debut album from Bestia Astrum (aka Abby Helasdottir / GYDJA) is a grim exploration of Fury 161, the prison planet from Alien³.

An industrial ambient travelogue of the spaces in the planet's dark and rusty facility, beginning on a wind-swept shore and ending in the eternal repose of stony sleep.

More than just an alternate soundtrack to a film, "Fury 161" takes cues from the long and troubled production of Alien³, incorporating themes from earlier concepts proposed during its development hell, including the treatment created by Vincent Ward, who imagined the movie's location as a wooden planet that was home to an order of space monks.

Motifs of eremitic religiosity permeate the album, as well as themes of Yeatsian apocalypticism, abject anatomy, and the intersection between the sacred and the profane, betwixt the beautiful and the grotesque.

CD in full colour matt-laminate digipak with gold spot colour, accompanied by a 16-page booklet with an essay by Abby Helasdottir.
THE SEA OF WIRES - 'The Sea Of Wires'
2CD £11.50 Adv (£13.50 after) - delayed: out 30 Nov

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download

The Sea Of Wires were a very early '80s electronic duo hailing from the industrial wastelands of Coventry.

Followers of the German Electronic Scene of the time (Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, Popol Vuh, Cluster etc), Chris Jones and Tony Murphy used elements of Kosmische Musik in their compositions, with a variety of warm synths, analogue effects, and layered experimentation.

This double-CD collects cassettes which appeared on their own Sea Of Wires label: "Individually Screened" (1980, then 1981 on the famous Flowmotion label); Chris Jones' "Diversions" (1981, featuring Murphy on synth); and "Beyond The Edge Of Tomorrow" (1982), representing the absolute peak of their sound.

These tracks appeared as a double LP on the illustrious Vinyl-on-Demand label back in 2014 as part of the massive 12LP boxset "80's Minimal Synth. Wave Vol.2", but are presented here on CD for the first time ever.

"A bubbly electronic miesterwerk from the electronic Dark Ages, those very early 1980s, just as synths started to get smaller and more affordable... They mostly relied on beat-free sequencer pulses with something of a Kraut influence, plus the occasional nod to the past glories of the Radiophonic Workshop... Full of classic warm synth settings, not unlike a solid state volcanic mud pool, pumping out bubbles of sweet sounding ear gases through the smooth hot mud" (Die Or DIY).

FFO early Human League, Vice Versa, We Be Echo, Tangerine Dream.

Double CD in a matt-finish gatefold ecopak.
KHOST - Many Things Afflict Us Few Things Console Us
CD £11.50 | LP Black £20 | LP Red £23 - OUT NOW!

Soundcloud  Soundcloud  Soundcloud  YouTube    YouTube   YouTube

The 5th album from Birmingham-based industrial/doom metal band Khost sees the band forging new and at times nightmarish territories, alongside their signature walls of detuned guitar, corroded percussion and VHS atmospherics.

Inspiration for many of the tracks came from countless live shows and even soundcheck experiments in which extreme, harsh electronics evolved, as did punk/early industrial tempos, all of which were then fused into the DNA of "Many Things Afflict Us Few Things Console Us".

Khost remark: "We hoped that the experience would be something like venturing into an off-limits wing of some gallery after-hours, with each turn more disorientating than where you just were".

Collaborators include AXEBREAKER (aka Terence Hannum of Locrian), acclaimed cellist JO QUAIL, and Berlin-based sound designer MANUEL LIEBESKIND.

The CD and the vinyl are different beasts. The CD is reinforced with 7 extra tracks including ADRIAN STAINBURNER's incredible remix of 'Yellow Light' featuring STEPHEN MALLINDER (Cabaret Voltaire, Wrangler) on vocals, and BERENECES adding his signature deep, dark D&B sound to the track 'Death Threat'. The LP editions feature a different mix by Khost especially for vinyl.

Tumble back into the nebulous and murky psychedelic haze of 70's-80's VHS horror!

Explore grimy palimpsests from the film studio to the grindhouse with 400 Lonely Things in "The New Twilight": eleven creepy yet sublime analogue microdoses of vintage genre and exploitation audio sampled and filtered through the darkly ambient, melodically droning, melancholic nerd soul.

Craig Varian has spent a half-century on earth exploring horror and finds a particular sweet spot in the glut of films released in the VHS boom of the 80's.

With the exception of one single track, each song (and song title) is sourced from a single film. To further this theme, the chronologically ordered booklet uses the same techniques to extract a hazy and dreamlike visual reference from the murky celluloid sources.

Adjacent genres: hauntology • dark ambient • experimental electronics • psychedelic • drone • soundtrack • plunderphonics

"Broken Allures", the fifth LP from trio Jac Berrocal, David Fenech, and Vincent Epplay (following releases on Blackest Ever Black, Akuphone, KlangGalerie), furthers their unique recording style with a musique concrète approach to mixing, characterized by the distinctive sound and technique of musicians and producers. Fenech and Epplay have paired with legendary French musician Berrocal, Nurse With Wound collaborator). "Broken Allures" is arguably their most coherent and fully accomplished album to date.

For this album, the trio has invited two fantastic musicians to compose with them: COSEY FANNI TUTTI and JAH WOBBLE.

NEW MAILORDER IMPORTS
ALLES - 'Now' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

The brand new album from the minimal electro duo Alles, who hail from Lodz in Poland. Energetic songs, brimming with emotions; strong lyrics, and a distinguishing electro / synthwave aesthetic with a slightly post-industrial / electro-punk tinge. Thanks to the experience gained during the production of their last album "Lost", the raw, even ascetic sound gives way to melody, which fills most of the band's fifth album. "We live in the kingdom of noise, information overflow, misinformation and disorientation. Ever rushing, we grasp disconnected words, unfinished thoughts, repeated ideas. We want freedom but don't know how to be free. We close up in the world of definition, scheme, calculation and manipulation. Post-modernism, post-punk, post-communism, great post. Has everything been done before?". Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
ALLES - 'Now' LP (Zoharum) - £20

Beautiful vinyl edition of the above release. Ltd x 200 copies on 180g heavyweight black vinyl in a spot-varnished, soft-touch sleeve, with full-size lyric insert and download card.
BATANG FRISCO - 'Batang Frisco' LP (B.F.E. Records) - £18

Founded by Bill DiMichele, the lifespan of San Francisco based project Batang Frisco ('San Francisco Kids' in the Filipino dialect Tagalog) is inimitably distilled on this solitary self-titled record - an outlandish private press pearl of homespun minimal synth music. Recorded over the course of 1985/6 and self-released in 1986, the one and only Batang Frisco LP was the product of an inconspicuous DIY existence spent in the margins of the Bay Area scene in the '80s. A miraculous curio of haywire electronics, crude drum machines, raucous 80s riffage, glistening soundscapes, irreverent, surrealistic lyricism and doctored samples, "Batang Frisco" has since gained well-merited cult recognition. A bizarre harmony of raw experimentation, bristling, sequenced rhythms, scuffed synth pop, dystopic industrial, austere synthesis, granulated cut-ups, and serene ambient. Remastered from the original analogue tapes. Ltd x 500 copies with booklet with liner notes, reviews, and photos.
BRUME - 'Syncronicity & Wandering Current' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

A new concept album by BRUME, based on a compact, closed composition, outlined in a way typical of Christan Renou's work. This suite, lasting almost 60 minutes, is divided into 3 parts: 1. 'I Know You Well', 2. 'Tout peut faire tout', and 3. 'Iridium', all performed with particular attention to detail. Numerous loops, borrowings and cut-up figures seem to create a sophisticated, intuitively readable and exceptionally coherent message. With each successively sounding fragment, a narrative is realized in real time, intended to provoke the listener into multiple, in-depth and multi-layered reinterpretations. Thus, the creator invites his listener to co-create a work that is not completely closed, but with each listening allows for multiple, infinitely different realizations. For these recordings Christian Renou invited several excellent musicians to make them, including: Jonathan Grieve (Hastings Of Malawi), Pat' Blanch (void/tape), and Patrick Mazaltarim (trumpet / sax). Ltd x 300 copies in 6-panel ecopak based on the collages by French artist Françoise Duvivier.
CRISTOV - 'Defragmentierte Assoziationen' LP (Abstrakce / B.F.E. Records) - £19

The debut album from Hamburg-based artist and designer Christoph Lohse (aka Cristov) delivers an amazing record inspired by technology and dystopia. German futuristic electronics, mechanical synths, primal rhythms... a cold, sometimes industrial sound, balanced with the jazzy acoustic drums and percussion performed by Manuel Chittka. Influenced by Ike Yard, Craig Leon, Monoton, and the German kraut maestros renewed by people like Kreidler, Die Wilde Jagd, and Tolouse Low Trax. Presented in black thick sleeves with a special sticker: experimental offset printing in black and a special silver ink printed twice on fluorescent red paper. Artwork by French artist Paul Loubet. Ltd x 200 copies only and already sold out from the label!
DRIFTMACHINE / KOMODO KOLEKTIF - 'The Encyclopedia of Civilizations Vol. 5: Babylon' LP (Abstrakce / B.F.E. Records) - £22

The fifth volume of "The Encyclopedia of Civilizations", Abstrakce's collection of split LPs where selected artists offer their own insight into fascinating ancient cultures. This time the focus is on the enigmatic Babylon, visited by Berlin duo Driftmachine and Glasgow's Komodo Kolektif. Driftmachine take us on a journey between the ancient cities of Akkad, Uruk and Ashur. Astonishing electronics with a superb and precise sound, floating somewhere between modular ambient, leftfield, abstract dub. Unconventional tribal rhythms recall obscure rituals, meanwhile warm, dynamic pulses contract and expand, interacting on their journey along the sandy roads of the Mesopotamian basin and leading you into a deep trance. Komodo Kolektif delves into the Babylonian vision of magic through the figures of the Kassaptu (witches and wizards) and the use of Mandragora. A blend of both tribal primitivism and a futuristic vision is provided by their vast arsenal of vintage synths and effects units, eastern metallophones and traditional hand percussion. Deep, psychedelic electronics that capture the spirit of ancient Babylonian sacred ceremonies and their vision of the cosmos. Mastered by Colin Potter. Ltd x 500 copies with an extensive booklet of notes and images about Babylon, to help you to immerse yourself in this fascinating civilization while you listen to the music. The sleeve is printed in the old way: letterpressed with metal movable type, as Gutenberg used to do it, on high-quality recycled paper.
DÜSSELDORF - 'Bunker Musick' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

A Polish-German cooperation between Tom Axer (Düsseldorf) and Leander Roenick (Elektrokraft), inspired by themes of war. However, it is neither the apotheosis of heroic struggle nor a tribute to those who die during armed conflicts, but a background to talk about completely different issues. In this case, the title bunker symbolizes a trap from which there is no return, in order to best capture the moment when the emotions and thoughts of a person who has just realized his or her own situation begin to torment them. The whole thing takes place in the mind of an imprisoned soldier locked in a fortress. It is his fear, euphoria, scenes from life flashing by in a fraction of a second, moments of smoldering hope intertwined with anger and a sense of helplessness that fill the subsequent lines, sung by the vocalist in his native language, with content. To give the message a universal character, the title of each track refers to different fortifications, sometimes located on the other side of the conflict. The whole thing is enhanced by the character of industrial music with an electro / EBM aesthetic. Ltd x 400 copies in a 6-panel ecopak.
ESCAPE FROM WARSAW - 'Transit The Specter Of War' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

Three years after their previous album "Korozja", Poland's ESCAPE FROM WARSAW returns with 11 new electronic tracks - on the one hand consistently performed in the spirit of lo-fi electronics, but presenting the musical work of Karol Suka (Arkona) in a slightly different, refreshed formula. You can still find echoes of electro, acid and dub in his work, but present are more raw, even metallic sounds, industrial reverbs, and field recordings that accompany you almost to the last note. Almost reminiscent of psytrance, incorporated into the structures of pieces written in the dub / electro convention, ESCAPE FROM WARSAW skillfully goes beyond the usual scheme, while maintaining the essence of his rhythmic electronic work. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
HARI SIMA / MÍNIM - 'Fluvius' LP (Abstrakce / B.F.E. Records) - £22

"Fluvius" is a conceptual album about water and its importance, in the form of rivers, in the birth and development of great civilizations throughout history. Civilizations that have worshiped water as a source of life to respect, care for, venerate, and fear. Contemporary ambient, full of hypnotic sequences and organic developments, with meticulous and evocative arrangements. A myriad of textures and elegant details improve the album with each new listen. Eight exotic tracks sail through eight rivers which are crucial for the birth and development of great peoples and cultures around the globe. An excellent work that will hook fans of Bitchin Bajas, Fitoussi, Cortini, or the most ambient Dozzy. Also recording as Güiro Meets Russia, both Hari Sima (aka Paco León) and Mínim (aka Juanvi Mínim, also a member of Mecánica Clásica) are electronic ambient artists from Valencia, Spain. Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri. Ltd x 250 copies in a stunning die-cut kraft cardboard cover, with a printed inner folder.

KADAVER - 'Dancing All The Way To The Pit' CD (Hiisi Productions) - £11.50

Kadaver (aka Michael Zolotov) offers you hell of a harsh and ugly "death noise" ride. One track is a collaboration with Finnish harsh noiser Maskhead, but the others are pure Kadaver mayhem. "Dancing All The Way To The Pit" is simply one of the loudest harsh noise albums out there. Effects, loops, soundscapes, noise. No compromises! No mercy! One man harsh noise, death industrial and power electronics project Kadaver has been active since 2003. Michael Zolotov is also a member of Necromiskha (with Tamar Singer of Zeresh, Cruel Wonders). Ltd x 100 copies in a gatefold digisleeve.

KLEISTWAHR - 'Down But Defiant Yet / Acceptance Is Not Respect' 2 x LP (Fourth Dimension) - £18.50

Initially released on CD in 2017 and 2018 respectively, KLEISTWAHR's albums "Down But Defiant Yet" and "Acceptance Is Not Respect" are gathered on this weighty double vinyl reissue. "Down But Defiant Yet" collects four lengthy cuts which catch Gary Mundy (Ramleh, Breathless, Broken Flag Records) furrowing his distinct and recognisable take on contemporary psychedelia with dystopian leanings. Each piece nods towards the fug generated by certain krautrock groups whilst retaining threads of those uncompromising power-noise surges he built his reputation on, this is music guaranteed to take you to new spaces before forcing you to nervously look over your shoulder. "Acceptance Is Not Respect" collects two lengthy pieces themselves broken down into seven parts often tempered to the point restraint assumes new, often disturbed (and disturbing) psychedelic or even filmic, properties, this music arrives like a spitting and foaming scream into the insanity of the void and the myriad challenges and questions it inexorably keeps hurling at us. This is uneasy listening sometimes rendered virtually elegiac by dint of a prowess rarely found in such realms. "The first half is about personal and political belief and the second half about religious belief... now our society is starting to break down, it becomes clear that that acceptance tends not to actually be the same thing as respect at all". Ltd x 300 copies. ***SLIGHT DAMAGE*** Please note all copies have a small ding on one corner, hence reduced price. All copies are new and still sealed.

LARMO - 'Alarm' LP (Zoharum) - £20

Larmo is the project of Miroslaw Matyasik (C.H. District). Following a limited cassette and collaborations with Gash Faith, Dystopian Control, and Mnich, Larmo presents their debut full-length album. "Alarm" is 12 heavy electronic tracks, based on massive sound, mechanical rhythms characteristic of the industrial genre, with elements of rhythmic noise, illbient, techno and bass music. Thanks to the freedom with which Mirek draws from a wide stylistic spectrum, he extracts those elements that allow him to fully use the potential and create structures and sounds characteristic of a strong and very suggestive message: Larmo Means Noise. Guests on the album: Gosia (Next Victim, Skorup/a), IHS (Biesy, Glitchangel), Paula (Moira, Brudne, Czyny, End Forest), and Pachu (Hostia). The whole thing is completed with a remix by Monya. Ltd x 200 copies on 180g heavyweight black vinyl in a matt-laminate sleeve, with sticker and download card.
LARMO / NOTHING HAS CHANGED - 'Grey Zone' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

"Grey Zone" is a split between two Silesian projects whose electronics fits into the industrial aesthetic - bass heavy with elements of techno and rhythmic noise. Illbient motor skills, a heavy foot and the use of raw, rough sounds serve as a carrier of emotions, intensifying the impression of a dense, stuffy dehumanized atmosphere in which our imagination is freed to draw subsequent frames of a film in our heads, played in slow motion, realizing dystopian visions of the inevitable. The term "the grey zone" is defined as "competitive interactions among and within state and non-state actors that fall between the traditional war and peace duality". Despite many similarities between both Larmo (Miroslaw Matyasik of C.H. District) and Nothing Has Changed (Michal Kielbasa of Harmony of Struggle, Lugola, Whalesong), each is implemented using its own, individual musical language. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak with photos by Kaja Cyfka.
MELEK-THA - 'The Luciferian Manifest' 2 x CD (Abhorrent Creation Tapes) - £14.50

The brand new satanic opus from France's Lord Evil: Melek-Tha. Over two hours of dark occult ambient / orchestral music with bombastic drums and demonic vocals. Esoteric and oppressive, epic and disturbed.... Guests: Deacon D, Tes Reoth, and Lillith. Double CD in jewelcase with booklet featuring art by Mexican master of the black arts Nestor Alvalos. Ltd x 250 copies.
N (115) / BU.D.D.A. - 'Ohne Titel' LP (Auf Abwegen) - £15

Side-long floating improvisations of drone guitars, weird freak out electronics and mysterious voices. Helmut Neidhardt (N), Chris Sigdell (b°tong), and Sascha Stadlmeier (Emerge) first met in 2020. They decided to record together and booked a studio in Dortmund. The recording session was spontaneous and somewhat chaotic. Thus it turned out, that only Helmut's tracks were really usable. Using some sections as a basis, Chris completely re-recorded his guitar, added a little bit of vocal here and there, and then sent a rough mix to Sascha, who in turn added violin and musique concrete. The final assembly was edited and mixed by Chris Sigdell. N and Bu.d.d.A. (Bund Des Dritten Auges) have since toured together, and at three dates even performed as a trio. Mastered by Fear Falls Burning. Ltd x 300 copies with download code. ***SLIGHT DAMAGE*** Please note all copies have one bent corner, hence reduced price. All copies are new and still sealed.
ROPE - 'Subliminal Voices' MCD (Hiisi Productions) - £10.50

The music of Rope (aka Toni Kandelin of SSRI, Musta Toteemi, Kolmas Ilmestys!) is a sonic journey into the darkest corners of occult and esoteric matters, and its reflections towards the human psyche. His music floats on the surface of reality and dream. "Subliminal Voices" is 36-minute dark meditative esoteric sound piece from the Finnish musician, director, screenwriter and actor. Deep synth sounds together with expressive vocals make this album great listening experience to early morning hours. Comes in a gatefold digisleeve.

STINKFINGER - 'Secret And Inward Ejaculations Of The Heart' CD (Hiisi Productions) - £11.50

Gut wrenching, vomit inducing, head aching harsh noise. MT also records as Impakt (with PD of Umpio), and solo as Unclean. Following a limited debut tape, and an appearance on Freak Animal's Terässinfonia series, Stinkfinger's debut album delivers a harsh and wild ride, screaming and churning noise that burns through mind and matter. "A really good introduction to the world of tape-crunched pedal harsh noise of Stinkfinger. The sound here is a very delicious tape saturation-driven harsh noise, utilizing an arsenal of effects pedals and contact mic'd/amplified source in the mix, all sounds intertwining nicely amidst a great amount of tape hiss. It's raw and unpolished, resembling intense sessions battled onto a tape player, with the deck's bars screaming red in competition with the artist. With 4 tracks and a total running time of almost 44 minutes, it's evident that these tracks haven't been trimmed into soulless noise pieces" (Satatuhatta). Ltd x 100 copies in a digipak.

THAT'S HOW I FIGHT - 'Movement Three' LP (Zoharum) - £20

A deep spiritual journey, close to the primal, even shamanic contact with the fleeting matter of sound. Meditative, reflective music, based on long trance / drone forms, emerged during many hours of improvised sessions. Three lengthy compositions marked with the numbers 28, 27 and 29, constituting an open formula as an invitation to the recipient to actively listen. There is no rigid division of the tracks; the listener decides where the album begins and ends - a kind of platform for establishing a dialogue between the authors and the listener, using the metalanguage contained in the recordings. A rich palette of sounds, melodies and improvised phrases, appearing at various stages without a clear beginning and end, without designated framework, limitations, giving full freedom of interpretation. Ltd x 300 copies on 180g heavyweight black vinyl in a matt-laminate sleeve, with sticker and download card.
VIDNA OBMANA - 'Twilight Of Perception Redux Volume One 1990-1998' 3 x CD (Zoharum) - £20

The latest treat for fans of VIDNA OBMANA (aka Dirk Series, also of Fear Falls Burning) is a collection of rare recordings 1990-95, mostly unreleased before or scattered on various samplers (on notable labels such as Projekt, and Hypnos), or small runs, which are practically impossible to obtain today. Over these 22 ambient / shamanic tracks, Serries offers atmospheres created using various fujaras, overtone flutes and percussion, dreampipe, recycling and abstract mutations, and voices. These tracks have been collected in one place, rearranged, remastered and provided with a proper commentary by Dirk Serries. A reliable compendium and a supplement to VIDNA OBMANA's extensive discography. Ltd x 400 copies in an 8-panel digipak with graphics designed using a photos by Martina Veerhoeven.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Drone-Mind / Mind-Drone Vol. 9' LP (Drone Records) - £18

Italy); and ARE MUNDAL (surrealistic, phantasmagoric drones from Norway). Four projects that differ considerably from each other, but united through the idea of the power of the Drone. An exquisite selection of post-industrial influenced / experimental drones. Mastered by Peter Andersson (Raison D'etre). Ltd x 400 copies on "Green Leaves" three-coloured vinyl with artwork by Christiano Deison, based on two paintings from British artist Pete Greening.

BOREDOM KNIFE / TYHJIØ - 'Feticide / No Lives Matter' MCD (Abhorrent Creation Tapes) - £10.50

A powerful, lethal dose of misanthropic Noise from two Helsinki creators. Boredom Knife is Experimental - Electronics - Noise - Eruption. Tyhjiø is music out of nothingness... at one with the void. An extreme Finnish Noise split release filled with hatred for ALL of humanity. 31 mins. Ltd x 525 copies.
OLHON - 'Lucifugus' 10" (Substantia Innominata / Drone Records) - £14

This is the first vinyl release for the collaborative organic ambient project of Massimo Magrini (Bad Sector) and Zairo (Where). Pure sounds from an abandoned metal water tank located in a forest in Tuscany, Italy (originally used by miners from that region). Well-structured, organic ambient, musique concrète, with incredible noise moments. Both tracks are based entirely on these field recordings, recorded putting microphones inside the water tank, made during a windy September night in 2007, then treated and assembled in the studio during 2008. Lucifugus music for Lucifugus men! Ltd x 500 copies on orange vinyl with stunning artwork from Tilmanna Benninghaus.
RAISON D'ÊTRE - 'Mise En Abyme' CD (Transgredient) - £12

Studio album by this well known Swedish ambient industrial project, continually renewing the dark ambient genre since 1992. All the previously beloved elements of raison d'être's music are here: spacious deep drones, touching sacral choirs, ritualistic sounds from gongs and bells and other awesome integrated field / object recordings - all impressively enhanced to reach a new level of masterful atmospheric composition. Moving from dramatic tension and threatening uproar to meditative beauty, this near hour long album reveals various changes and details, while always sounding monolithic, expressing almost unbearable sensations of melancholy, vastness and contemplation. 'Mise en Abyme' is an inner journey down to the most hidden and dark parts of the Self. 'Mise en Abyme' literally means 'placed into the abyss' and conceptually the album contains ingredients from 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante or any similar stories/myths around the katabasis theme. Instead of being linked to religion, history or morality, it is purely a psychological and therapeutic trip to the underworld, investigating the subconscious. But even in the darkest and chaotic places in the depths, there are small shades of light, hope and understanding; one can be enlightened and purified upon returning to the conscious world. The definite raison d'etre masterpiece! Comes in a 6-panel digipak.
SUTCLIFFE NO MORE - 'Cute' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

A brand new album from the project transformed from its parent group SUTCLIFFE JUGEND by pioneers of the industrial scene, Kevin Tomkins (ex-WHITEHOUSE) and Paul Taylor. "Cute" is 11 top drawer tracks characterised by a massive, sharp sound like a surgical scalpel and an equally strong message. We are dealing here with music that fits the aesthetics of Power Electronics with influences from other industrial genres, and also composed and produced at a high level, refined in every detail and recorded with particular attention to the final sound. A must-have for both fans of the band and those looking for intense, expressive and unique art based on sound and words. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak.

ZERO KAMA - 'Live at TV Eye / NYC' CD (Old Europa Cafe) - £12

A recording of the first ZERO KAMA comeback concert after a long hiatus, live at Summer Scum in New York City on 22nd July 2022. All tracks were written and performed by Zoe Dewitt. Based on samples from Zero Kama's 1984 recording "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H.", processed by modular synthesis. The CD also features two bonus tracks: rehearsal and draft recordings, May 2022. Zero Kama was an experimental music project founded by Zoe DeWitt in 1983. Appearing after an initial outing on the cult compilation "The Beast 666" (Nekrophile, 1983), the debut album "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H." (1984) is regarded as one of the key albums of ritual industrial music. The fact that all instruments used for the recording were exclusively made from human bones and skulls, its elusive musical style, the implied occult symbolism, as well as the short-time existence of Zero Kama, have all contributed to the cult status of this project. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak with cover artwork taken from Zero Kama video stills, and concert photo by Petra Sperlhofer.
KLEISTWAHR - 'Where The Word Is Never' CD (Fourth Dimension) - £11.50

The newest album from UK industrial-noise legend Kleistwahr has retained the molten intensity it has always been propelled by since Gary Mundy (Ramleh / Broken Flag boss) founded the project in the early 1980s. The six cuts here (40 mins) see less of the organ and more in the way of simplistic rhythm pulses, Gary's vocals and even, on a couple of cuts at least, something that might be considered akin to a song structure. Like recent albums, however, "Where The Word Is Never" delivers like it has been created through a rich blend of torment, lament and general despair before it frantically reaches for that small and beautiful white dot in the distance where all such thoughts can be cast asunder. Like Rameh, Kleistwahr explores vast and often searing swathes of sound, sometimes tempered to a more atmospheric approach and at other times cranked to the kind of levels bleeding ears make for a perfectly natural response. Mastered by Sion Orgon. Ltd x 300 copies in a gatefold mini-LP style sleeve, based on the Broken Flag design featuring photos by Chris Low.

SOLMANIA - 'Re-Rurr' LP (Urashima) - £24

Founded in 1984 by Masahiko Ohno, Solmania is a trailblazer in the Japanese music landscape. A monumental work of guitar drone / avant-garde noise, "Re-Rurr" was originally released on cassette on his own Fatagaga Tapes (1985). The two expansive tracks featured here highlight Ohno's mastery of multi-neck guitars and harp guitars, with their unconventional body shapes and peculiar pickup placements. The interplay of harmonies and textures creates a sonic tapestry, blurring the boundaries between structured composition and abstract noise. Ohno's musical prowess truly comes to the fore; his ability to seamlessly blend disparate elements like guitar, tape, radio, metal, turntable, and vocals still pushes the boundaries of traditional music-making. A deeply immersive listening experience with shimmering chords, dense harmonics, hypnotic overtones, and immersive sonic textures. Ltd x 199 copies with full-size insert.
PHURPA - 'Yan-Drub Ceremony: Ritual IV' CD (Zazen Sounds) - £12

After a long silence, the Bon masters Phurpa emerge once more, offering a new album that embodies their unparalleled ritualistic manifestation within the dark genre. Their work, a profound act of spiritual art, transcends words - an initiation into the mind-altering realms of their sacred chants and visions. An obscure Ritual soundwork, meant to be experienced only through personal empiricism within the sacred inner chambers of metamorphosis. Terror unveils itself once again. A singular 51+min ritual invocation. Gatefold digisleeve. Already sold out from the label!
DARK AWAKE - 'Abaris Hyperboreios' CD (Steinklang) - £11.50

Dark Awake have been exploring the hidden, subterranean currents of esotericism, occult philosophy and ancient lore for over 15 years. Referencing the legendary figure of Abaris of Hyperboreia from Greek mythology, their new album is both timeless and old school, drawing from the perennial wisdom of the European spirit and inspired by the cornerstones of traditional martial industrial and post-industrial. Belligerent martial rhythms and heroic orchestrations mix with passages of deeply mysterious, abstract ritual ambience, enhanced by evocative neoclassical arrangements. From dramatic choirs to crackling layers of synthesizers, the musical breadth of the album is considerable. In the classic tradition of the genre, the compositions are often understated and stripped bare of all meaningless excess, resulting in an album that will appeal to fans of all eras of the martial industrial scene. Evoking atmospheres of sinister menace, heroic spirit, ancient mysteries and the perenniality of sacerdotal truths, like the namesake figure of the album, "Abaris Hyperboreios" sagely parts the veil for a peek at the concealed, esoteric nightside. Of history, modernity and the future, informed by hermetic, transcendent wisdom. Ltd x 100 hand-numbered copies in a glossy 6-panel digipak. Already sold out from the label!
FRANCESCO LURGO - 'The Gentle Whale' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

The aquatic and marine imagery drawn by the titles and the artwork for "The Gentle Whale", Francesco Lurgo's (FLeUR) second solo album, are a metaphor for a sound that is liquid and like the sea is constantly shifting from the quietness of intimate ambient moments to waves of maximalist sonic pressure, always looking with admiration to the creative world of contemporary soundtracks. From this sonic fluid, arpeggios and themes played by melancholic post-rock guitars and plucky synths that would be at home in IDM or deconstructed electro, emerge to affirm the love for melodies as the backbone of Lurgo's production. The record features additional production and mastering by frequent collaborator Emilio Pozzolini (Port-Royal, Earth Begins) and, on two tracks, violins performed by Vito Gatto. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
EX.ORDER - 'Shuchu Ryoku' CD (Power & Steel / Loki Foundation) - £11.50

Brand new reissue of the 2010 album from EX.ORDER, the Power Electronics / Industrial alter ego of INADE. Ten tracks of unrelenting Noise and Electronics covering numerous areas of violence, disillusionment and abstraction. "Shuchu Ryoku" means focused power, and the wall of sound here is underlayed by hypnotic ambient-noise layers which is a well known trade mark of Ex.Order. A throbbing audio force built up by massive analogue soundwaves, heavily driven mechanical percussion, sample-collages and vocals. This is another complex and explosive industrial tapestry of sound, performed with control and brutality. 6-panel digisleeve.
G.N.L.S. - 'Conspiracy Of Thoughts' CD (F**king Your Creation Records) - £12

Antihuman, Anticosmic, Chaos. G.N.L.S. is the new claustrophobic project of Wrath (Dødsferd, Grab) and Sarvok, created in 2019 in Ierapetra, Crete from the ashes of Born from the ashes of Mortovatis. Chaotic propaganda against the modern world and its pathetic existence, without sympathy and undeniable lies. Wrath states: "We created G.N.L.S. (Geometric Nictation of Lament's Space) in order to satisfy the voices in our heads. Our restless spirits and our long discussions on the constant decay of this world and humanity led us to this b**tard creation". "Funeral doom, with its slow-moving, somber, layered guitar playing - the sharp, shrieking chaos of black metal, and the comfort within the silence between notes... a powerful experience that reminds us of the beauty of being human, even in the darkest times." (The Metal Wanderlust). Ltd x 100 copies in a digipak.
