The third tape on the fledgling Cold Spring label, 'Shoot And Crucify' was released back in 1988 in an edition of just 50 copies (CS003). It features some of the very earliest works of many now-influential and essential Industrial / Noise / Experimental artists.

Features: ETHNIC ACID (Anthony Di Franco of Ramleh, AX), SATORI (Dave Kirby + Rob Maycock), THU20 (Guido Doesborg, Jac Van Bussel, Jos Smolders, Peter Duimelinks, Roel Meelkop), DEATH PACT (Korm Plastics boss Frans De Waard + Midas Tapes boss DMDN), REDEMPTION INC. (Neil Campbell of Astral Social Club), BASQUADECK SHELF (Neil Campbell + Mark Turner of ESP Kinetic), L.S.D. (Final Muzik boss Gianfranco Santoro), RADICAL CHANGE (Roberto Vicentini), WELL CRUCIAL (Matthew Kinnison of Cindytalk, Richard Youngs + others who went on to form A Band, Stewart Walden of Smell & Quim, Neil Campbell, members of The Strolling Ones), DAVE KIRBY (Satori, Psychopath), KAPOTTE MUZIEK (Frans de Waard), PSYCHOPATH (Dave Kirby + Rob Maycock, pre-Satori), MERZDOW SHEK (Mario Marzidovsek), NOSTALGIE ETERNELLE (Dieter Mauson of Occupied Head, D.S.I.P. + Stefan Heinze of Inox Kapell, Ferien Vom Ich), and THE STATE (Steven Tanza of Bourbonese Qualk).

The 'scene' at the time was built on the mail-art network, exchanging an explosion of ideas, sounds and art around the world via the (then very cheap) postal system. Just a handful of these 19 tracks have since been reissued, but the vast majority have remained locked in this analogue time capsule for nearly 40 years. Compiled by Rob Maycock. Remastered by Martin Bowes (The Cage).

CD in matt digipak with new artwork by Abby Helasdottir (and a nod to the original tape art).
KEIJI HAINO & STEVE NOBLE - 'Cafe OTO'
CD £9.50 Adv - OUT 17th JULY

   Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download

Legendary Japanese experimentalist Keiji Haino (Fushitsusha) and London's fearless drummer Steve Noble (Æthenor) took to the stage at Cafe OTO in 2012 for a monumental concert - with Haino's extreme treatments of electric guitar, and feedback, with Noble on a lot of percussion...

While Keiji Haino theatrically sweeps between bleak and uninhibited paranoia, deep-level zoning and bluesy contemplation, Steve Noble's huge set up and graceful approach brings space, light and shade - so much so that at one point Haino unplugs his guitar and picks up a small wooden flute. Dynamic, dramatic and surprisingly uplifting.

"The sounds came across as random explosions, with passages of near-silence abruptly giving way to percussive clatters and sustained guitar roars. Then suddenly, they leaped into full chaotic freak-out mode, with Noble sending his small gongs and bowls flying as he pummelled the skins, unleashing a veritable thunderstorm of raucous sound...

Meanwhile, Haino switched on the fuzz and feedback, his guitar screaming like a beast possessed, with molten solo after molten solo cascading out of the amps. Just as quickly, they'd revert back to contemplative mode, Haino twisting and twitching his strings with the delicate touch of a brain surgeon. The interplay between the two was bewitching..." SUN RA | MERZBOW - 'Strange City'
2CD £14.50 - OUT NOW!

   Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download  YouTube

Officially licensed from Irwin Chusid of the SUN RA estate, Cold Spring negotiated rare and unreleased tracks from the SUN RA archive to be remixed and treated by Masami Akita (MERZBOW). The tracks incorporate the jazz power of SUN RA, carried into brutal excess by the legendary Japanese noise artist, MERZBOW.

Originally released by Cold Spring a decade ago and long sold out, the music was spread across vinyl and CD, with completely different music on each format. The tracks are now collected together here for the first time, from the original masters and presented in the order originally intended (the vinyl format dictated the order due to optimal sound quality restraints).

"The constant and destructive waves of noise make this decisively a Merzbow record, but its cosmic mood and rhythms prove that Sun Ra lives in its DNA" (Pitchfork)

Also included (for the first time on any release) is the bonus two minute track 'Granular Jazz Part 5', a special composition created for the Stuart Maconie's "Freak Zone" (BBC Radio 6), which was only broadcast once, ahead of Merzbow's show at Manchester's legendary FAC251, September 2016.

2CD with expanded artwork in a 8-panel double digipak - comes with an 8-page booklet featuring a new essay by Gydja. Orders from Cold Spring come with 2 free stickers (one Merzbow, one Sun Ra).

VA - 'Salò or The 120 Days Of Sodom' -
CD £11 | T-Shirt £18 | LP BROWN | £25 - OUT NOW!

The first time on any format for Pier Paolo Pasolini's controversial 1975 vision of the Marquis De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, featuring beautiful and discordant classical compositions, in stark contrast to the shocking and cruel events unfolding onscreen.

Three weeks before the scandalous release of "Salò, or The 120 Days Of Sodom", Pasolini was brutally murdered in Ostia, Italy. In the wake of the tragedy, legendary composer Ennio Morricone wrote 'Addio a Pier Paolo Pasolini' (Goodbye to Pier Paolo Pasolini) for the late filmmaker, included in the final edit.

Following the narrative of one of Pasolini's defining cinematic moments, the soundtrack opens with Ennio Morricone's "Son Tanto Triste", descends into the melancholic minor chords of Bach, Chopin, Orff, Puccini, and Graziosi, incorporates sinister renditions by the cast, and includes Morricone's own sombre tribute to the director.

Disgusted by the flood of crass sexploitation movies which filled the space opened up by his "Trilogy Of Life", Pasolini turned to the most nihilistic thinker in European history for what became his final film. His version of De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, amplified with motifs from Dante's Inferno, confronts the ultimate implications of fascism in a series of sexual and moral atrocities. "The only true anarchy is power".

The CD was released on Friday 13th February 2026, exactly 249 years since the Marquis de Sade was arrested and imprisoned in the dungeon of the Vincennes fortress for charges of "debauchery and immoderate libertinage" that scandalised his contemporaries.

NEW MAILORDER IMPORTS
ANDREW CHALK - 'The End Times' CD (ICR) - £10

Fragile, melodic tracks from Andrew Chalk (Mirror, Ora, Ferial Confine) that weave in and out of focus in an almost hallucinatory manner, evoking many different moods and emotions. "Andrew Chalk is still making incredibly beautiful and distinctive music, as The End Times is a characteristically sublime and immersive dreamscape of tender melodies, elegantly shifting moods, and vividly detailed textures... the most prominent features throughout are the quivering, liquid-like character of the notes and the ephemeral brevity of the pieces. Rather than evolving and expanding, these 13 pieces instead feel like a series of enigmatic mirages that offer a fleeting and flickering glimpse of heaven before dissolving back into nothingness. Given all the gentle, blurred sounds and the tone of meditative reverie, it is deceptively easy to mistake The End Times for ambient music, yet it reveals itself to be considerably more than that for those willing to fully immerse themselves in Chalk's slow-motion fantasia of beautiful details and small yet significant events... he is without peer at sculpting compositions until nothing remains but a fleeting and fragile moment of simple poignant beauty" (Brainwashed). Mastered by Dennis Blackham. Matt digipak.
COLIN POTTER & JONATHAN COLECLOUGH - 'Carboniferous' CD (ICR) - £11

An album unearthed in the IC studio of Colin Potter (Ora, Monos, Nurse With Wound), "Carboniferous" is a deeply atmospheric, four-track ambient release. The hour-long album showcases slow-shifting electronic drones, minimalist piano patterns and treatments, and heavy effects processing. Loosely described by Potter as "rhythmic drone music", the tracks are remixes of Jonathan Coleclogh's album "Period' (2001), which Potter also worked on.  These pieces were made before the use of computers became commonplace in studios. They were all mixed live, without editing, using a physical mixing desk and external analogue and digital effects units. "Potter's speciality is working with effects placed upon the original material, so it becomes something else, and his mastery is to make it sound like it's static and minimal. In contrast, it shifts and moves around, very rarely staying in one place. The pure piano sometimes starts the piece or appears halfway through... This serves as a fine reminder of the sources. These are four strong pieces, in which the 'live' element is a strong presence, adding to the lively atmosphere of the music. (Vital Weekly). 6-panel ecopak.
DISSECTING TABLE - 'Purification Of The Soul' CD (E-Klageto / Psych.KG) - £11.50

Dissecting Table is the exclusive brainchild of Tokyo's Ichiro Tsuji - UPD Organization label boss, the first vocalist of Gudon and a maverick of the Japanese noise world. This work consisting of 6 longform tracks (50 mins) was recorded using a studio-made synthesizer system via line recording, with additional devices, corrugated iron sheet performance, and violin. "Framed by Buddhist traditions, the three-eyed, snarling guardian of the teachings armed with sword and noose, Tsuji himself seems unprotected from despair, a state of suspended animation, mental damage, distractions, and blackout etc. Hence, perhaps, his self-deprecating insults like 'Bullsh*tter' and 'Moron'. His medicine here is a loop of imbecilic, murmuring mantras over bubbling noise and electronic fluting. To impulsive chugging and ticking, he can't stop his inner demons... Noise crashes, clunky and stereophonic, trilling alarmingly. Is this the élan vital of robots, automatons, and other tin-metal idiots, the industrial age in its demented final state?... 'Last Words' bubble up, mouthless, as impulsive foolishness, chirping, twittering, as an electronic wah-wah. Finally, Tsuji intones another monastic-shamanic mantra, to the undiminished, impulsively buzzing and twittering mess". Ltd x 199 hand-numbered copies in an A5 gatefold card sleeve.
ERIC LUNDE - 'Everything That Hasn't Happened' CD (E-Klageto / Psych.KG) - £11.50

Eric Lunde is a Minneapolis musician and artist. He founded Boy Dirt Car in 1983 with Darren Brown, releasing several LPs and cassettes. Lunde left BDC in 1989, signing it over to Mr Brown. He then released his own music under his own name / Trait, published a book of poetry and wood-block prints, and is one half of noise / experimental duo Dead Edits (with Blake Edwards of Vertonen). This brand new studio album (credited as Eric Lunde and The Kanshiketsu! Orchestra) comes in the form of 11 tracks of noise, cryptic creations and paradoxes. Ranging from a lengthy 15-minute track to a 7-second finale, the album deals with Somnium-overlaid, Covid-induced hallucinations, tales of postpostpostmodern existence in the age of algocracy; distorted dreams, and general absurdity. Distorted roars of pop music collide with monotonous chugging, humming noise, pulsating waves, buzzes and chirps, whirring rhythms, delicate shimmers, and diffused voices. Ltd x 199 hand-numbered copies in an A5 8-panel card artwork booklet, with two inserts.
HYBRYDS - '7even Deadly Sins' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

Since the mid-80's, Belgium's Hybryds have been working in the ritual - mythical - industrial and magical music scene, basing their music on ancient influences and modern technology. With its mind-expanding sound, primitive ethnical and contemporary industrial influences are blended to create a unique style that has influenced many who were looking for spiritual dimensions. 25 years ago, Spectre released the first part, entitled ‘Lust’ on vinyl. A collaboration between Hybryds (music) and Miss PolyEster (text and vocals). Apocalyptic poetry topped with a BDSM flavour. Now, 25 years later, the entire project has finally been completed on this album. The music and accompanying artwork complement each other to fully capture the album's theme, based on the Christian symbolism of the seven deadly sins. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak with photos by Sandy Nys.
MACIEK SZYMCZUK - 'Gandobendy' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

After a long, almost nine-year silence, Maciek Szymczuk returns with a brand new album, bursting with a multitude of colours and sounds, pulsating in a slightly dubby, dreamlike atmosphere with a hint of psychedelic undertones. The familiar ambient formula remains, but in this case, it serves merely as a core upon which the individual tracks are embedded, unfolding almost imperceptibly in a variety of directions, often escaping the genre's confines. This album is an untold story, a record of a state of mind wandering between worlds, somewhere between wakefulness and dream, between tension and dissolution, between the personal and the new and the primal and the archetypal. We recommend listening to the entire album in semi-darkness, unhurriedly, and then everything will unfold naturally, as sound circulates, returns, sometimes shifts, and what disappears has a similar effect to what is currently resonating. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
MAD MASKS - 'Mad Masks' CD (Le Label Beige) - £12

Mad Masks is the enigmatic French Alps-based Darkwave / Industrial / Experimental instrumental project from Zio Voodoo and Dominique Stela. Their third official self-titled album is heavily inspired by 1960s and 1970s cult horror film soundtracks, drawing comparisons to early 80s acts like Cabaret Voltaire. Built on dark, tribal rhythms, slowly processed guitars, and hypnotic loops, the release serves up a bleak, industrial-gothic atmosphere. Their first album will already be familiar to some of you as it was released by UK label Peripheral Minimal (2015). Clocking in at 66 minutes over 15 tracks, the final six bonus CD-only tracks on this new album were unofficially released on the web in 2015. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.
MASON JONES - 'Ongaku Otaku - The Magazine Of Japanese Independent Music' Book (Korm Plastics) - £35

In the mid-1990's, four thick, annual issues of Ongaku Otaku magazine were published by Mason Jones. With a goal to spread the word about the compelling independent music being produced in Japan, dozens of interviews and articles, and many hundreds of reviews, the magazine was an influential voice, sharing words about Aube, Cornelius, Yamamoto Seiichi (Boredoms, Rovo, Omoide Hatoba), Shizuka, Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan, Alchemy Records), Melt-Banana, Ruins, KK Null, K2 and many more. This facsimile edition brings the original pages to readers several decades later. Operating from San Francisco, publisher and editor Mason Jones has run the Charnel Music label since 1988, and has recorded many albums solo, as Trance, and as a member of SubArachnoid Space, Numinous Eye, and Collision Stories. He began visiting Japan regularly in the early '90s and arranged U.S. shows for many artists from Japan. Ongaku Otaku was a labour of love aided by many contributors to whom he remains grateful. Hefty, heavyweight item - A4, hardcover, 524pp. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
MINAMATA - 'Methylmercure' CD (NEdS) - £12

Minamata's 1985 album "Methylmercure" is a monumental masterpiece, destined to go down in the history of the noise, industrial, and power electronics scenes. Hailing from France and active since 1984, Minamata was a group that mastered the art of destruction and construction, as well as ideology and satire. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder with contemporaries like Le Syndicat, Pacific 231, Vivenza, Etant-Donnes, and Vox Populi. However, due to member departures and lineup changes, their early material spanning EPs, LPs, and subsequent CD formats had largely remained unavailable. To mark their 40th anniversary, iconic Tokyo record shop NEdS is finally releasing Minamata's early cassette masterpiece "Methylmercure" on CD for the first time. In that era, they were among the first to use music to issue warnings and sound the alarm about impending dangers, including this album with the methyl mercury pollution incident that occurred in 1953 on the coast of Minamata City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu Island, Japan, as its theme. Packaged in a jewelcase with cover art based on the original tape, and a 12-page booklet featuring liner notes and a two-page commentary/contribution by the shop owner in Japanese - an essential read.
MOTHER RAT - 'Just Beginning Of The Story' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

Mother Rat is a one-woman ambient and dungeon synth project from Novosibirsk, Siberia, formed in 2024 by Olga "Mother Hel" Nikolaeva. Her work is dedicated to C.S. Lewis's "The Chronicles Of Narnia" series and combines the sounds of synthesizers with traditional instrumentation. The debut album "Just Beginning Of The Story" was recorded in the author's home studio and is dedicated to the first book of the Chronicles. It tells the story of the creation of Narnia and the emergence of a connection between our ordinary world and the world of magic. Digital and analogue synthesizers, as well as the delicate, chiming melodies of the gusli (a traditional Russian folk instrument) and Finnish kantele were used during the recording. Digipak.
MOTHER RAT - 'The Golden Age Of Our Dream' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

Brand new album from the Siberian dungeon synth / ambient artist Mother Rat. Once again we are swept into the fantasy lands of C.S. Lewis's "The Chronicles Of Narnia", this time with an album that tells the story of Narnia's Golden Age - a time when peace, tranquillity, and happiness reigned across the magical lands. Accompanying Olga "Mother Hel" Nikolaeva's signature synthesizers and traditional instruments, several guests appear on accordion, flute, and throat singing. "Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more". Ltd x 133 copies in a digipak.
NURSE WITH WOUND - 'Alice The Goon (Expanded Edition)' 2 x CD (United Dairies) - £20

"Alice The Goon" was a single-sided LP originally released on White Noise label for the Festival Ultimes Musiques, May 1995. On its original three tracks, Nurse With Wound stretched a single bad dream into half an hour of delirium: queasy not quite easy listening that mutated from lounge lilt to industrial throb, like a Popeye cartoon left to rot in a dripping underground cinema. "Alice The Goon" sits in NWW's catalogue like a particularly vivid hallucination; a miniature suite that twists the very idea of background music into something sly, menacing and oddly seductive. Personnel and production add to the record's peculiar charge. Stapleton is joined by long-time conspirators (including Diana Rogerson, Peat Bog, Michael Dawson and Elephant in various incarnations across editions), with everything produced and mixed in classic NWW fashion: hands-on, collage-driven, unconcerned with genre boundaries. Too structured to be pure noise, too disfigured to be ambient, too slyly humorous to sit comfortably as "industrial". Instead, it occupies that characteristically NWW zone where reference points - easy listening, cartoon scores, avantgarde tape music, occult ritual - are all present but never settle into a single frame. This expanded edition contains several unique mixes by Colin Potter, Andrew Liles, Matt Waldron, Diarmuid MacDiarmada, Señor Coconut and various unreleased material from the original sessions. Presented in a deluxe 8-panel double digipak, featuring the original release art, alongside older renditions by Babs Santini.
NURSE WITH WOUND - 'Healsgebedda Budgerigar' CD (United Dairies) - £15

"Healsgebedda Budgerigar" (meaning "beloved budgie" in mangled old English) represents yet another visionary achievement from Steven Stapleton's Nurse With Wound project. The album's three original LP tracks journey through landscapes of memory and dreams. Fragments of recollection (the vocalisations of a once-dear pet, jazz from an old Bakelite radio, a passing police car, the intrusion of a wasp, someone retuning for opera)... the journey from sublime reverie to the theme of a favourite childhood cowboy show that may or may not have existed in reality. The final of the three original tracks delivers what critics describe as "the music that would be playing in the Black Lodge episodes of Twin Peaks... if the soundtrack had been allowed to mirror the sublime derangement of these scenes". This new CD edition includes an additional 35 mins of unpublished tracks: 'A Pig In A Poke' and 'A Resounding Tinkle', plus an alternative mix of the title track. The album showcases Nurse With Wound's continued ability to transpose surrealism's visual art movement into pure sound "to reveal the unconscious... and to undo prevalent conceptions of order and reality" (Briony Fer). NWW here were Steven Stapleton, Colin Potter (Ora, Monos), Andrew Liles, Matt Waldron (irr. app. (ext.)), Diarmuid MacDiarmada, and Petr Vastl (Aranos). 6-panel digipak of heavy gauge card with gloss laminate, designed by Babs Santini.
NURSE WITH WOUND - 'Stoned In Stockholm' CD (United Dairies) - £15

This live set by cult avant-garde electronic project Nurse With Wound was recorded January 2016 at Södra Teatern in Sweden, and features Steven Stapleton, Andrew Liles, Colin Potter (Ora, Monos), and Matt Waldron (irr. app. (ext.)). The chilly ambience, subtle krautrock and ambient dirges directly mimic the wintry setting in which the band performed. "Stoned" leans heavily into dark, creeping drones that coil around krautrock-inspired rhythms and space-music elements. Remastered by Colin Potter. Comes with a bonus CD-only track. Digipak with a sleeve designed by Babs Santini.
NURSE WITH WOUND - 'Stoned In Stockholm' LP MARBLED (United Dairies) - £26

Coloured vinyl edition of the above release. Pressed using 'eco mix' vinyl - resulting in varying colour combinations of pink / purple / mauve marbled vinyl... each unique (though one pressing). Ltd x 500 numbered copies.
NURSE WITH WOUND - 'The Grave And Beautiful Name Of Sadness' LP MARBLED (United Dairies) - £26

This LP features two archive mixes of "The Grave And Beautiful Name Of Sadness", recorded in 1984. The original was a monolithic dark ambient/drone track featuring haunting choral voices, sepulchral bass, and Ligeti-esque tension. The first track here is a grand, epic variation recorded in 2007 for possible inclusion in Peter Strickland's film 'Katalin Varga'. The second is a unique, 'psychedelic' version from 2012 which until now has never been heard. A profoundly deep and sustained sound work. NWW were Steven Stapleton and Colin Potter, with additional guitar by Andrew Liles. Pressed using 'eco mix' vinyl - resulting in varying colour combinations of green / grey / blue marbled vinyl... each unique (though one pressing). Ltd x 600 copies.
NURSE WITH WOUND / DIARMUID MACDIARMADA - 'Lung Oysters' CD (United Dairies) - £15

"Lung Oysters" is a studio album from Nurse With Wound featuring the multi-instrumentalist Diarmuid MacDiarmada. A heady free range mix of krautrock, experimental and toe tapping psychedelia, leaning towards a slightly more rock orientated sound. "A pungent brew of rock, dark psychedelia, new age, exotica, nose-flute and a scream of existential horror" (Arcana Hibernia). On board with head honcho Steven Stapleton are regular NWW members Colin Potter (Ora, Monos), Andrew Liles, and Matt Waldron (irr. app. (ext.)), with the added voice and talents of Irish artist and poet, Tara Baoth Mooney. Digipak with a sleeve designed by Babs Santini.
ORA - 'Time Out Of Mind' CD (ICR / Shining Day) - £11

Deeply transportive early sound collage / concrete works from the long running Ora project. A hypnogogic dream-sequence that drifts between deeply immersive electro-acoustic / drone passages, occasionally coming up for air with the soft tinkering of piano keys or lightly plucked acoustic strings. "Time Out of Mind" represents a most important chapter in the recordings of Ora, during the years 1986-1994 and here almost all entirely unheard before. They represent unreleased studio pieces, field recordings and sketches, significantly made to portable recorder. This working method would become the basis of future and more elaborate studio pieces and in itself clarifies an important formative stage of the work of Ora, of often using outdoor performances and location sound in an entirely spontaneous way. The album collects and reworks, after the passage of some 20 years, what might have been and has now been mixed, sequenced and arranged by Andrew Chalk into a full-length album. It inevitably captures, with the gift of hindsight, the spirit of the past. Line-up changes followed which perhaps makes "Time Out Of Mind" a missing stage in the evolution of a group that should have, though never actually did, exist in that period. Ora here was: Andrew Chalk, Darren Tate, Colin Potter and Daisuke Suzuki.
RAPOON - 'Goodbye To Dreams Of Space' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

Rapoon is the ethno-ambient solo project of Zoviet France co-founder Robin Storey (who also records as Reformed Faction, and Old Castle). Rapoon's new studio album brings ten premiere tracks; over an hour of pulsating ambient music, bathed in a somewhat dreamlike aura, from which lazily emerge snatches of melody, sonic nuances of an ethereal nature. We still encounter Robin Storey's signature sound, but above all, we experience music with a slightly more meditative, reflective quality than usual. With each passing minute, images unfold, intricately woven like clichés of memory, vaguely recalled in our minds... Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
SPUR ON TO XS - 'Sacrifice As The Cornerstone Of Society' CD (Dunkelheit Produktionen) - £11.50

Spur On To XS is hungry and up for the kill. After a highly acclaimed debut, the new full-length album presents this ambitious Dutchman at the top of his game. Deep throbbing Industrial textures blend with tasty Noise, some wallish crackles are thrown into the mix and all forms a lovely œuvre of impressive Harsh Electronics. Some passages remind the attentive listener of the dominant, flanger-heavy narrations known from the biggest and baddest names of the German scene, other tracks are unhinged Noise brutality delivered in a supreme fashion. Everything flows beautifully; the oldest virtues of Heavy Industrial Noise are interpreted in a modern, contemporary fashion and the result is nothing short of stellar. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies in a jewelcase.

SEIROM - 'Mesmerized' MCD (Ksenza Records) - £10.50

"Seirom is a breath of fresh air, a ray of sunlight, for Gnaw Their Tongues mastermind Maurice De Jong. Ofttimes overlooked in favour of his more shocking material like Aderlating or Gnaw Their Tongues, Mories's ambient synth project Seirom is just as satisfying a listen as any of his other material, and uses many of the same methods of attack, albeit to very different effect... "Mesmerized", is a beautiful and fascinating work which is a perfect place for newcomers to Mories's lighter world to start immersing themselves... Synth-laden ambient soundscapes and grand orchestral compositions, at times interrupted by washed-out samples and more conventional instrumentation, but this base formula is turned on its head by the stark change in execution and framing... Another of Seirom's releases is entitled and the light swallowed everything, and if there were ever a perfect title to describe a band's overall sound, I think that would be it. Seirom deals in light, but it is an all-consuming light. Something that washes over you and makes you a part of it" (Cvlt Nation). 33 mins. Ltd x 500 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
SSHE RETINA STIMULANTS - 'Ecclesiastic Audition Stories' CD (E-Klageto / Psych.KG) - £11.50

Sshe Retina Stimulants is the solo project of Paolo Bandera (Sigillum S). "The musician saint's gift of internal audition is followed by his text, imagining the parts where voices of women lament the ecclesiastical structures that deny them... the challenge for congregations to tell themselves their full story, while accepting the deepest social symbolic meanings. The implied experience of music in the celebration of liturgy translates into brutal torture and murder, with old and new popular games becoming the playground for the experience of spiritual song from autobiographical accounts... reading the news that they had died, so many memories came flooding back... a stage name became a pseudonym used by performers and entertainers to reach out to their vision of transcendence...". Post-Industrial / Drone / Noise, created with electronics and field recordings. Ltd x 300 hand-numbered copies in an A5 8-page full-colour art booklet.
SUTEKH HEXEN - 'Luciform' CD (Ksenza Records) - £12.50

Reissue of Sutekh Hexen's 2011 debut album, now on CD for the first time. "While many bands talk about being trve or not Sutekh are just nastier than the rest. Creating layers of noise that support the overall intensity of the songs themselves. While it can be an unpleasant listen for some it rewards those who take the time to fall within it's grasp. The production is cold beyond words allowing little room for anything to breathe... Everything in this record makes its presence known when it is necessary and only then the artwork feeds into the same mystique that the band members themselves carry, making sure that the music speaks for itself. There is little else to say other than that if need a record that truly feels evil throughout and has no need for the usual "look at me, aren't I evil" black metal posturing this is the record you should be blasting throughout the winter" (Scene Point Blank). Remastered by James Plotkin. Ltd x 500 copies in a DVD-sized digipak.
VANDØD - 'Vandød' CD (Ksenza Records) - £11.50

Vandød was a rather short lived old school black metal band from Trondheim in Norway. Playing a style true to the old Norwegian black metal roots, cold and grim yet with a melodic twist, they took their inspiration from the early days of bands such as Ulver, Emperor, Burzum, Darkthrone, Kampfar and Taake. The band was formed in 2002 by Varskrik and Svartsinn (Jan Roger Pettersen). Later joined by other members, they became a very respected band in their short few years of grimness. This is the rehearsal demo the band recorded in 2004 in its pure form - no other version of it survived and no other songs or releases exist. "Let this release be our last cold breath before we put the final frost nail in the ice coffin". Digipak.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Night Falls: Music Inspired By David Lynch's Twin Peaks' CD (Unexplained Sounds) - £12

A compilation focused on Twin Peaks, the television series created by Lynch and Mark Frost that profoundly reshaped the relationship between narrative, sound and perception on the small screen. First broadcast in 1990, Twin Peaks initially aired for two seasons between 1990 and 1991, before returning in 2017 with a third season that radically redefined the boundaries of television storytelling. From the outset, the series introduced an unprecedented fusion of crime drama, soap opera, surrealism and metaphysical horror, filtered through Lynch's authorial vision as director and Frost's narrative architecture. What began as an apparently familiar small-town mystery gradually evolved into an increasingly unstable universe, dissolving linear narration and pushing television into territories that were previously unthinkable. Across its three seasons, Twin Peaks expanded into a complex exploration of dreams, alternate realities, fragmented identities and temporal dislocation, transforming the medium of television into a space for long-form experimentation and subconscious inquiry. The music collected on this CD responds to Twin Peaks as a living ecosystem of moods, symbols and emotional tensions. The diversity of the musical material reflects the multiple identities of the series itself. Ambient noise, dub-inflected structures, dark jazz atmospheres and experimental electronic compositions coexist freely, allowing the listener to move between all phases of the series, from the deceptive calm of the early episodes to the darker, more abstract territories explored later. Features: 400 Lonely Things, Rapoon, Paolo L. Bandera (Sigillum S), Joel Gilardini, Mario Lino Stancati, Mark Hjorthoy & David Strother, Oubys, Yousef Kawar, Richard Bégin, Glass Isle, Beyond The Ghost, David Kovacs, and Kabra. Ltd x 150 copies in a 6-panel matt digipak.
IRM - 'Anthology' 2 x CD (Zoharum) - £16

The reissue of Swedish power electronics act IRM's "Anthology", a collection originally released in 2012 (Autarkeia). Having started out in 1997 when Erik Jarl asked Martin Bladh to join him, IRM have matured from bedroom autodidacts to masters of the studio environment. Taking their cue from the confrontational sounds of Brighter Death Now and Whitehouse on their debut, IRM have honed their sound on each album and eventually fleshed out the sonic tapestry by the addition of Mikael Oretoft on bass. By tapping into the mindsets of outsider artists / authors such as Mishima, Rudolf Schwarzkogler and Francis Bacon, their obsessions with pain, purity and beauty leaked into Bladh's personal lyrics. This aesthetic amalgamated with the volcanic eruptions of Jarl and Oretoft have set IRM apart as true originators in the diluted sea of contemporary power electronics. Containing tracks scattered across small releases and compilations, the first disc contains studio recordings, while the second consists of live recordings. Presented in a 6-panel double-digipak with a 16-page booklet featuring information, lyrics, and artwork by Martin Blah.
KEVIN TOMKINS - 'Insomnia' 2 x CD (Zoharum) - £16

The latest solo album by Kevin Tomkins, member of Sutcliffe No More, Patient K, Bodychoke (ex-Sutcliffe Jugend, ex-Whitehouse etc). On this DCD he explores the realms of drone / ambient music to sonically illustrate the state of insomnia. Each of the compositions featured here was recorded during late-night sessions, set between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. On the one hand, we are dealing with material that could serve as a form of therapy for the recorder, but also as a musical documentation of his struggles and attempts to find balance and peace. It reflects, as if through a lens, a variety of emotional, mental, and physical states, painted with successive sounds, their frequencies, and timbres. By listening carefully to this rather peculiar, unconventional, and at times quite surprising musical drama, we can experience a whole range of emotions that accompany the nearly two-hour session, consisting of 11 separate sessions, which here take the form of longer compositions, filling two CDs. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak.
JASON CRUMER - 'Lake Of Fire' CD (Satatuhatta) - £12
JASON CRUMER - 'Lake Of Fire' LP (Satatuhatta) - £23

"Lake Of Fire" is the 11th studio album by American harsh noise artist Jason Crumer (Aluminium Noise, Facedownins*t, Now In Darkness World Stops Turning, Nothing But Death etc). Crumer also operates No Rent Records. The album features deep textures and a carefully crafted palette of harsh frequencies, all set within a grand cinematic scope, with bold and decadent walls of sound, true to the spirit of rock 'n' roll. Rawness, immediacy, intensity, and brutality surge through every moment. Play it loud! CD in 6-panel digipak (already sold out from the label) / LP on black vinyl, featuring intricate drawings by Nicole Chambers.
NOVEMTHREE - 'Storms Of Memory' CD (Glass Throat Recordings) - £13

On "Storms Of Memory", Novemthree have sought a deeper exploration of their characteristic blend of acoustic folk songwriting and layered ambient textures, weaving a sonic tapestry of stringed instruments, varied percussion, flutes, woodwinds, and vocal harmonies to create an incredibly profound and beautifully poignant full length collection. After a long and quiet time of reflection, Novemthree emerges from the thicket with "Storms Of Memory", their first musical release since their split-album "Braided Paths" with Sangre De Muerdago (2014), and their first full length album since "Renewing" (2012). The songs on "Storms Of Memory" document a four-year journey of recording, split between the locales of the Salish Sea of the Pacific Northwest and the driftless area of the Northern Midwest, with the conceptual roots of the songs originating in a series of live performances that occurred between 2013 and 2018. Presented in an incredibly beautiful 6" x 6", 6-panel outsized card sleeve, with exclusive interior landscape artwork courtesy of Bluttantz of the Dolomite Mountains.
RHAD - 'Ghost Music Library' CD (Unexplained Sounds) - £12

With "Ghost Music Library" RhaD (Research of Historical Audio Documents) further explores the margins between archival research, improvisation, and sonic abstraction. Created by Italian sound artist Raffaele Pezzella (SONOLOGYST), RhaD represents a more instinctive and unrestrained counterpart to his usual conceptual rigor. Here, the music unfolds as a collage of forgotten tapes, malfunctioning devices, magnetic dust, and digital errors transformed into expressive language. The album's title evokes the spirit of the electronic library music of the 1970's, yet this is no pastiche. Instead, "Ghost Music Library" functions as an imaginary archive, a parallel memory of sounds that might have existed, an archaeology of lost futures. Between the hum of analogue circuits and the glitches of obsolete media, RhaD constructs a nostalgic yet radical sound world, where experimental freedom meets the melancholy of vanished existences. It is a tribute to imperfection and to the beauty of the unrepeatable moment, a library of the unresolved and the ephemeral. Ltd x 100 copies in a matt-laminate 6-panel digipak.
MODELBAU - 'Muster' CD (Sym / Drone Records) - £12

Frans De Waard, the legendary Dutch composer and label manager (Korm Plastics, Plinkity Plonk etc), under the moniker of Modelbau, has produced two long tracks of somehow nostalgic, elementary low fi ambience, full of micro noise details and with a rich conceptual background. This is "ancient" analogue drone, thick and warm like cotton wool. Modelbau is the long-established solo project of Frans de Waard since 2012, focused on lo-fi noise, tape-based electronics, and intimate, improvised soundscapes. Working with small electronics, shortwave radios, cassette walkmans, effects, and modest digital tools, he uses Modelbau to explore fragile textures and slowly evolving atmospheres that extend his decades-long engagement with underground electronic and electroacoustic music. One of de Waard's most prolific outlets, Modelbau sits alongside his many other projects (including Kapotte Muziek, Beequeen, Goem, Freiband, and Shifts) yet retains a distinct, hands-on aesthetic that privileges spontaneity, physical media, and the productive limitations of "cheap stuff". Ltd x 250 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
ARGYRE PLANITIA - 'Ediacara' CD (Winter-Light) - £11.50

"Argyre Planitia (Stefan Voß) has crafted dark ambient pieces in his own uniquely immersive style. Deep drones, subtle sonic artefacts, and brooding atmospherics guide the listener through a sound world that reaches back millions of years - a meditation on the shifting, ancient landscapes of our ever-changing planet" (Dark Entries). Welcome to a harsh, unyielding world that distant descendants will someday name Earth. A place where planetary conditions swing between hellish inferno and deep freeze. A harsh and inhospitable sphere: its air unfit to breathe, its newborn continents raw and lifeless, its oceans home only to tiny microbial pioneers. In ages still to come, the planet will be plunged into a global ice age; a freeze so complete it will seem like the end of all possibilities and yet it will become the spark that opens the way for more complex life. It sounds impossible that such a hostile and alien world could someday cradle forests, animals, civilisations, and dreams. And yet, this strange planet - once utterly unrecognisable, will become the place we now know as home. Mastered by Ronald Mariën (Stratosphere). Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
THE GREEN KINGDOM - 'Ether Hymns' LP (Dronarivm) - £20

Under The Green Kingdom moniker, Detroit's Mike Cottone produces minimal ambient music using a variety of digitally-manipulated sounds sourced from a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments. This is a beautiful album of shimmering textures, quiet melodies, and slowly decaying notes. "Ether, in the literary sense, can be defined as 'the clear sky; the upper regions of air beyond the clouds', or more informally as 'air regarded as a medium for radio'. Music, as well as the inspiration for it, are ephemeral in nature. In making this album, I often thought about the manner in which the sounds and patterns that form a piece of music are brought in to existence from nothingness. They drift into the listener's space, evolve over time, and drift off like clouds on the wind". Ltd x 100 copies only!
