NEW COLD SPRING RELEASES

VA - 'Salò or The 120 Days Of Sodom' -
CD £11 - OUT NOW! | T-Shirt £18 - OUT NOW! | LP BROWN - 29th MAY

Bandcamp  Soundcloud

The first time on any format for Pier Paolo Pasolini's controversial 1975 vision of the Marquis De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, featuring beautiful and discordant classical compositions, in stark contrast to the shocking and cruel events unfolding onscreen.

Three weeks before the scandalous release of "Salò, or The 120 Days Of Sodom", Pasolini was brutally murdered in Ostia, Italy. In the wake of the tragedy, legendary composer Ennio Morricone wrote 'Addio a Pier Paolo Pasolini' (Goodbye to Pier Paolo Pasolini) for the late filmmaker, included in the final edit.

Following the narrative of one of Pasolini's defining cinematic moments, the soundtrack opens with Ennio Morricone's "Son Tanto Triste", descends into the melancholic minor chords of Bach, Chopin, Orff, Puccini, and Graziosi, incorporates sinister renditions by the cast, and includes Morricone's own sombre tribute to the director.

Disgusted by the flood of crass sexploitation movies which filled the space opened up by his "Trilogy Of Life", Pasolini turned to the most nihilistic thinker in European history for what became his final film. His version of De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, amplified with motifs from Dante's Inferno, confronts the ultimate implications of fascism in a series of sexual and moral atrocities. "The only true anarchy is power".

The CD was released on Friday 13th February 2026, exactly 249 years since the Marquis de Sade was arrested and imprisoned in the dungeon of the Vincennes fortress for charges of "debauchery and immoderate libertinage" that scandalised his contemporaries.

DEREK JARMAN - 'Through The Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping'
LP £23 OUT NOW!

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud

Written in 1971 and read here by the author himself "Through the Billboard Promised Land Without Ever Stopping" is Derek Jarman's only known work of narrative fiction.

Providing a prelude to some of the imagery Derek Jarman would use later in his career, particularly the alchemical dreamscapes in the film "Blue", it is a surreal, hallucinatory fairytale, signposted with elements of modernity, that has much of the mythic and archetypal about it.

With tantalising autobiographical details and a panoply of chromatic landscapes and psychosexual symbols, this richly poetic story details a journey with no destination or purpose across a mythical America, undertaken by the young blind King Amethyst and his valet John.

Previously only ever released on cassette (2022, Prototype Publishing, Ltd 80), this vinyl edition features facsimile images of the story's handwritten drafts from Jarman's archive and photos by the artist Michael Ginsborg, a close friend of Jarman's throughout the period of the story's writing.

Ltd x 500 copies on heavyweight 180gm black vinyl in gloss sleeve.

ONE LEG ONE EYE - '...And Take The Black Worm With Me'
CD £11.50 - OUT NOW!

  Bandcamp   YouTube    YouTube

As a founding member of Dublin experimental folk group LANKUM, Ian Lynch explores submerged leylines of music and song. His solo project ONE LEG ONE EYE sees him taking a fresh approach to musical arrangement culminating in a sound that is more rooted in the raw aesthetics of second wave black metal than contemporary folk.

Over the course of a year, Ian Lynch enjoyed the freedom of experimenting and exploring different paths of sound design without expectation or pressure. Seeking out interesting settings to record music and gather field recordings, the essence of which have seeped into the spirit of the music, Lynch explores rediscovered spaces in Dublin and familiar interior spaces. He frequently visited the abandoned warehouse where his father worked and sang with his shruti box, contented in his solitude.

The result is a distinct and sometimes harrowing drone-folk atmosphere conjured throughout the album's lengthy and enveloping compositions, with an eerily beautiful, immersive sadness resonating throughout.

"An immersive world of created sounds and raw, resonant singing... dazzling sounds... gorgeousness and menace... lyrics carrying oceans of sadness" (5/5, The Guardian)

Features Ian Lynch on hurdy gurdy, uilleann pipes, synth, vocals, shruti box, concertina, guitar, found sounds, and tape, with guests: Laurie Sue Shanaman (Ails, Ludicra) on vocals, and Ruth Clinton (Landless, Poor Creature) on church organ.

Only available on a one-time, long sold out CD pressing in Ireland (Nyahh Records, 2022), we now present this incredible album with an exclusive bonus track 'Sympathetic Invertebrate Ritual', recorded especially for this edition.

COIL - 'Backwards' - 2LP 'FIRE RED' + CD (SOLD OUT)
2LP 'COLD WHITE' + CD £30 | 2LP BLACK + CD £28 - OUT NOW!

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Soundcloud

We mark a decade since we first released Coil's landmark album 'Backwards', with a special 10 year anniversary vinyl reissue. All editions come in a gatefold matt-laminate sleeve with silver detail.

ALL ORDERS DIRECT FROM THE COLD SPRING STORE / BANDCAMP INCLUDE: THE FIRST EVER RELEASE OF THE FULL 'BACKWARDS DEMOS' (10-track CD), POSTER AND ARTCARD.

After the ground-breaking release of 1990's "Love's Secret Domain" album, Coil were not dormant; the main project was "Backwards", which was started in 1992, updated considerably between 1993 and 1995, and transferred in 1996 to New Orleans, where it was finished in the magic of the Nothing studios of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). The album saw the fruition of Jhonn Balance's recent vocal coaching, producing haunting, passionate vocals, while reaching new heights.

23 years after its initiation, these tracks have been beautifully preserved by Danny Hyde and are finally available in highest quality audio. Differing substantially from the later, remixed incarnation, "The New Backwards" (2008), "Backwards" contains the original versions of Coil's much-loved tracks; 'A Cold Cell' and 'Fire Of The Mind', which have appeared on various compilations over the years, and are now presented as originally intended.

HERMANN KOPP - 'Der Golem'
CD £11.50 - OUT NOW!

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download

Best known for his "Nekromantik" soundtracks (Dir. Jörg Buttgereit), HERMANN KOPP composed and recorded his new soundtrack to the 1920 classic horror film "Der Golem" - a leading example of early German Expressionism by Paul Wegener.
First released in 1914, three versions of this material were made, but only the 1920 version is still available.

Using violin, viola and electronic / synthesizer sounds, the new score adds a more contemporary, sometimes noisy edge to the film, whilst not forgetting the esoteric and mysterious components of the Golem myth of Jewish folklore. Set in a ghetto of medieval Prague, the Golem, a clay hulk brought to life by a magic scroll implanted in his chest, is summoned as a protector and avenger.

The soundtrack premiered 7th March 2025 in a Parisian cinema near Place de l'Etoile - by invitation of Vincent Glaume (organiser of the legendary Au-delà du Silence events in France, who first proposed the idea to Kopp). It was also presented at Wroclaw Industrial Festival, Poland in October 2025.

Hermann Kopp started recording songs on tape in the 70's, combining his violin with a Moog imitation in a very personal and minimal approach to music, with lyrics that bordered on surrealism. After a mini-LP in 1981 and his "Pop" LP of 1983, he became the fifth member of experimental synthesizer band Keine Ahnung. After a split, Kopp was contacted by filmmaker Jörg Buttgereit to participate in the scores for "Nekromantik", later in "Der Todesking" and finally in "Nekromantik 2". He has since released a string of incredible works through labels such as Galakthorrö, 4iB Records, One Way Static, and Vinyl On Demand.

CD in matt-laminate digipak.

CATHAL ROCHE - 'Essential Tremors' CD (Nyahh Records) - £12

'Essential Tremors' is the debut solo showcase of Cathal Roche, an improvising saxophonist based in Co. Sligo, in the Atlantic north west of Ireland. The extended performance for baritone, alto, and soprano saxophones was recorded at St George's Church and Heritage Centre, Carrick on Shannon, 2021, in the Nyahh label's native Co. Leitrim, by Willie Stewart. Here, left to his own devices, Roche colours the air with a seductive display of versatility and virtuosity; initially hovering around liminal levels of extended instrumentals, and stealthily growing to a more full-bodied silhouette, and around the 1o minute mark commanding swarming dynamics comparable to Alex Zhang Hungtai. Cathal's disciplined control of volume and tone is key to its grip, as he proceeds, pregnant with noirish dread, to blow ribbons of anguished blues - sax keys audible in the space - that hits all the right notes for lovers of late night musical introspection. Comes in 6-panel digisleeve with art by Alan Doyle.
ENHET FÖR FRI MUSIK - 'Låt Oss Vada Genom All Ängslan Tillsammans' LP (Discreet Music) - £22

One of Enhet För Fri Musik's most evocative works, weaving delicate melodies, tape hiss, spoken word, and dreamlike atmospheres into a truly unique listening experience. An important piece in the Gothenburg-puzzle, featuring members of acts like Amateur Hour, Blod, Leda, Arv & Miljö, and Sewer Election, that eventually culminated in Discreet Music. Enhet För Fri Musik has become a reference point for contemporary experimental music, known for their raw, intimate recordings and a distinctive blend of folk, psychedelia, and avant-garde improvisation. Their music captures a sense of fragile beauty and emotional honesty, inviting listeners into a world where every sound feels both deeply personal and refreshingly unpredictable. An essential piece of modern experimental music history. Originally released on Förlag För Fri Musik (Ltd 250, 2015), this new edition stays true to the original release with identical hand assembled cover sleeves in varying colours. Ltd x 500 copies.
HUGO RANDULV - 'Drunkna I Ljus' LP (Discreet Music) - £22

The much-anticipated sophomore solo album from Hugo Randulv (Enhet För Fri Musik, Amateur Hour, Makthaverskan etc). Following up the praised "Radio Arktis" that was released on Förlag För Fri Musik back in 2021, "Drunkna I Ljus" consists of two side-long epics based entirely on electric cello with a sparse use of controlled guitar feedback. The overall ambience and cold yet weirdly encouraging harmonies from the debut are recognisable and still present, but otherwise this is a much more stripped down affair in every possible way. While comparisons could be made with some Obscure Records classics and whatnot, this is at the same time music that owes just as much to contemporary Gothenburg as it does to experimental cassette culture in general. A minimal masterpiece of immense beauty. "Very meditative, mind clearing, slowed down my breathing, heart. Feels real, human, connecting... a piece I'm now compelled to listen to over and over" (This Is Heavy Rotation). Mastered by Lasse Marhaug. Comes in a sleeve with art by Gustaf Dicksson, and an inlay featuring 4 drawings reminiscent of the cover.
JUHO TOIVONEN - 'Lapsikuninkaan Fanfaari' LP (Discreet Music) - £22

Juho Toivonen's third album navigates memory's fluid terrain through off-key piano, tape loops, and spectral melodies. Featuring Ramo Sinnemäki's trumpet, this Nordic ambient masterwork recalls William Basinski while exploring childhood fragments and imagined futures. In the expanding universe of contemporary ambient music, few artists navigate the liminal spaces between memory and imagination as sensitively as Juho Toivonen (Free Tala). "Lapsikuninkaan Fanfaari" ("The Child King's Fanfare") is a profound work - simultaneously intimate and expansive - that drifts from forgotten past into uncertain present like remnants of a half-remembered dream. The faded recollection of a melody, what music might sound like when recalled after years of experiencing silence. An invitation into a world where memory is fluid and music exists as ghostly echo of what once was or could have been. Pure Scandinavian melancholy - essential contemporary ambient. Ltd x 500 copies with insert.
LORI GOLDSTON - 'Convolutions' CD (Nyahh Records) - £12

In 2022 Lori Goldston went on a small 4 date tour of Ireland playing in Cork, Limerick, Leitrim and Drogheda. Willie Stewart of Nyahh Records / Woven Skull drove her on the tour and recorded each performance. With Lori's permission, Willie edited and mixed each performance and put them together to make this album. The end result is a collection of improvisations and spontaneous moments. Every performance is drastically different to one another in mood, energy and technique. In these recordings you can hear how Lori's playing is influenced by each space and its atmosphere. This set of improvisations is an ear-opening journey into the cello and Lori's intimate relationship to it. Comes in 6-panel digisleeve with art by Alan Doyle.
PRIMITIVE MOTION - 'Lost Frequencies' 2 x CD (Discreet Music) - £16

Primitive Motion is the duo of Australian musicians and visual artists Sandra Selig (Threads) & Leighton Craig (The Lost Domain). Their work builds through ambience and subtle electronics, highlighting relationships between natural and human-made forces through nuanced spatial-sonic interventions. The massive "Lost Frequencies" (130+ minutes) spans almost four years collected from the duo's ongoing improvisatory meetings at Selig's studio in Ferny Hills. "Lost Frequencies" moves at its own pace - taken in its full breadth, it's like one long exhale. Within this, there's also a curious intimacy, a feeling that as listeners, we're eavesdropping on a process unfolding. It's a reminder that blueprints for buildings are often more evocative than the constructions themselves. Through "Lost Frequencies", Primitive Motion uncover something that's simultaneously deeply archaic and vitally modern... the hum of reed organ and melodica in conjunction with Selig's levitating voice, are audio madeleines with both devotion to craft, and surety of focus. Ltd x 500 copies in a 6-panel double digipak with booklet.
WERTHAM / STROM.EC / JOSH LAY - 'St. Valentine's Day' LP (Cipher Productions) - £28

'St Valentine's Day' is a historical lodestar of unhinged and inexplicable violence, an artistic expression of the Prohibition-era streets of Chicago. Each artist was carefully selected with a view to intersecting their own stylistic and thematic interests with the subject matter of the release, harnessing the uniqueness of each while linking a shared stylistic energy. Threads of religious penance, unapologetic bloodshed, conspiratorial intrigue and political collapse all leech from the given theme, and each act delivers a harrowing set of power electronics compositions rich in detail, compositional depth, potency and crimson. Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed). Ltd x 200 copies with cover artwork by Scott Candey (Crionic Mind), and an individual insert for each artist: Italy's Wertham (Marco Deplano, also of Foresta Di Ferro, Caligula031, New Processean Order), Finland's STROM.ec (Jasse Tuukki of Cloama / Stromstad + Toni Myöhäne of Stromstad), and Josh Lay (of Glass Coffin, Hellwulv, Cadaver In Drag). Australian import.
ZOS KIA / COIL - 'Silence And Secrecy' CD (All Horned Animals) - £16

This compilation is a tribute to the work of John Gosling and to the earliest recordings by Coil. Zos Kia's music is an essential insight and archival piece into the early work of the industrial scene and particularly of Coil in their formative stages. Their recordings are even darker and more industrial-rooted than much of the Coil material that followed. The music is primal, brutal and reveals the interests that surrounded Coil/Zos Kia and the early years of Thee Temple ov Psychic Youth (TOPY) / Psychic TV. JAPANESE IMPORT. Packaged in a 6-panel digipak with obi strip, with album art featuring automatic drawings and glyphs by Austin Osman Spare. Tracks: 1. Zos Kia / Coil - Violation, 2. Zos Kia - Be Like Me , 3. Zos Kia - Thank You, 4. Zos Kia / Coil - Sicktone, 5. Coil - How To Destroy Angels (Zos Kia remix), 6. Zos Kia / Coil - Baptism Of Fire , 7. Coil - Silence & Secrecy, 8. Coil - On Balance, 9. Zos Kia / Mekon feat. Peter Christopherson - Sleazy Said, 10. Zos Kia - Black Action 12" Mix, 11. Zos Kia Meets Sugardog - Smile.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'A Collection Of Songs In The Traditional & Sean-Nós Style' CD (Nyahh Records) - £12

Inspired by the song collecting of Alan Lomax, this compilation brings together two generations of singers from all across the island of Ireland. Some of the songs previously appear on albums, but the rest were recorded by the singer themselves on their phones to give the song a real and raw effect that brings an authentic feel and immediacy to the songs. A long standing tradition in Irish culture, singing - both traditional and Sean-Nós ("old style") - has taken place in pubs and private homes all over the country since the 13th Century and has been away to share and keep the music alive, passing it down to younger generations. It is considered to be an aural tradition, as a lot of these songs would of not been written down. Features: Conor O'Kane, Aoife Hammond, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Michael Frank Ó Confhaola, Méabh Meir, Rosie Stewart, Ruth Clinton, Fionnuala Maxwell, Nell Ní Chroinin, Thomas McCarthy, and Sarah Ghriallais. Comes in 6-panel gatefold sleeve with liner notes on each song by the singers, and cover illustration by Denise Conroy.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'An Irish Almanac Of Noise & Experimental Music From 2025' 2 x CD (Nyahh Records) - £15.50

A DCD compilation of contemporary noise and experimental musicians from all across the island of Ireland. This significant collection covers multiple generations of artists in the field of audio experimentation, some with academic backgrounds and some total bedroom studio weirdos who don't get out much: Diarmuid MacDiarmada (The Jimmy Cake / Nurse With Wound), Ian Lynch (Lankum / One Leg One Eye), Cyess Afxzs, David Colohan (United Bible Studies), Dressing (Meilt), The Quiet Club, Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh (Woven Skull), Luxury Mollusc, Declan Synnott (Síoraí Geimhreadh / Mvestle), Aonghus McEvoy (Woven Skull) and Adam Campbell, Rogue Spore, Eimear Reidy (Stile Galante), Danny McCarthy (The Quiet Club), Irene Murphy and Mick O'Shea (The Quiet Club), Feral Torch, David Lacey (Legion Of Two), Jonathan Deasy (S'entendre), Amanda Feery, Karl Burke, Acid Granny, David Donohoe, Toil, James King & Caroline Murphy, Claire Guieran & Katie O'Looney, Dylan Kerr, Dennis McNulty, Susan Geaney, Fergus Kelly, Francesca O, Enola Christ Metalizer, Hillsongs, and Neil P Quigley. These 32 tracks cover noise, acoustic, electroacoustic, electronics, Musique Concrete, tape music, and drone. "We hope you enjoy this compilation and it brings you some kind of joy and/or discomfort". Comes in a 6-panel digisleeve with artwork by Alan Doyle.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'The Alien Territory Archives: A Collection Of Radical, Experimental, & Irrelevant Music From 1970s San Diego' 4 x CD Boxset (Nyahh Records) - £35

This is the story of a sleepy Navy town that became the unlikely gathering point for some of the most innovative, unclassifiable American artists of their time. The late '60s arrival of Harry Partch - hobo composer, iconoclast and inventor of instruments such as the Harmonic Canon and Quadrangularis Reversum - jump started a revolution that was as much social as it was musical, drawing on the occult, self-realization and radical political movements of '70s Southern California. The 2023 book, "Alien Territory: Radical, Experimental and Irrelevant Music in 1970s San Diego" (Bill Perrine), presents the story; in this collection are the sounds. Sonic Meditations, compositional linguistics, microtonality, invented instruments, cutting edge electronics, underwater synthesizers, Tibetan throat singing, environmental sound and pure noise were their tools. In an attempt to slightly smooth out the listener experience and add some structure on to a decade of far-reaching experimentation, each disc is devoted to a particular musical style, strategy or genre. These are useful but admittedly porous distinctions that the artists themselves may or may not recognise. All tracks (apart from 3) in this set are previously unreleased. Features: Diamanda Galás, Warren Burt With Pauline Oliveros + Reinhard Berg, Robert Turman, Harry Partch, David Dunn, Warren Burt, Ernie Morgan, Allen Strange, Citizen's Band, Joseph Julian, KIVA, Dary John Mizelle, Joji Yuasa, Alexina Louie, Kenneth Gaburo, Peter Gordon feat Kathy Acker, and Dary John Mizelle + David Gamper + Robert MacDougall + Frank McCarty. Comes in a clamshell boxset with each disc in its own card sleeve, and a booklet of photos and essays.

DEAD BOOMERS - 'Aspen Liberals' CD (Cipher Productions) - £12

The Dead Boomers team of Leith Thomas and Mark Groves (Arum Lilies) spent much of the early '10s honing their incisive Power Electronics live set, while recording a series of penetrating and perceptive releases for a number of Australian labels and some further ashore. The duo may have called it a day, but couldn't stand by without setting their sights on the political and social short-sightedness which the 2021 pandemic produced. Cue "Aspen Liberals", an April 2020 radio broadcast piece of cruel noise, found sound memories, petri dish electronics creations and narrowed vocal delivery which places Dead Boomers' long-targeted upper class elite at the centre of the pandemic's spread. This CD adds a number of tracks written and recorded between 2015-2020; some previously released in now lost editions, and others breaking to the surface for first time. Dead Boomers remind us that the underground will always find a way - and hopefully bring down the elite in doing so. Ltd x 200 copies in a digipak with an 8-page booklet.
ERIC RANDOM - 'Bone Of Contention' CD (All Horned Animals) - £12.50

This new album by Eric Random coincides with the start of the last Cabaret Voltaire tour, for which Eric has joined as a member. The album marks a contrast to his most recent releases, less dance-oriented, with a darker pop tone and a cinematic, soundtrack-like atmosphere. Eric Random is a cult figure of the British electronic scene and one of the true pioneers of post-punk electronica. Growing up in Manchester, Random joined Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks and drummer Francis Cookson in 1978 to form the very short-lived The Tiller Boys, an experimental trio that debuted supporting Joy Division at Manchester's Factory Club. After the group disbanded, Random founded Free Agents and became involved with the Sheffield electronic underground, working closely with Cabaret Voltaire and recording his first solo material at their Western Works Studios. During this period, he developed a distinctive sound language blending industrial minimalism, electro-funk, and electronic experimentation. In the early 1980's, Random formed The Bedlamites, a group that explored a fusion of electronic, post-punk, and world music elements. Around the same time, he joined The Faction, the final band of Nico (The Velvet Underground). From 1982 until her passing, he toured and performed with her, notably playing the tabla at her 1986 solo concert at The Live Inn in Shibuya, Tokyo. Jewelcase with obi strip.
GRUNTSPLATTER & WILT - 'The Trough Of Armageddon' 2 x CD (Cipher Productions / Phage Tapes) - £15

A heavy electronics masterpiece from two U.S. Death Industrial / Death Ambient heavyweights, 20 years in the making. "The self destructive impulse, a side effect of imagination's fire. As universal as the afterlife and the birth of all things. A seed sown in fertile consciousness destined to become invasive. A whisper in the aether that the end is coming. A ragged tapestry of malformed ideas, gluttonous appetites, fear, and self importance that has waved for ages beyond logic and reason. Poison legacies and graves stain the ground in its shadow. Still the mob clamors. Timeless, ill conceived, and rabid at the trough of Armageddon". Disc 1, 'Indoctrination', was composed by Gruntsplatter using source material from Wilt: Scott E. Candey on modular synth, electronics and pedals. Disc 2, 'Repercussion', was composed by Wilt using source material from Gruntsplatter: James P. Keeler on synths, pedals, field recordings, and object manipulation. Needless to say, highly recommended! Mastered by Thomas Garrison (Control). Presented in an elegant 6-panel double digipak.
SAVAGE GOSPEL - 'Horrors Of Nature' CD (Cipher Productions) - £12

Sometimes nothing less than pure harsh bliss will satiate those needs, and Savage Gospel's unapologetic radiance of electronics fury is intended for just that. Incapacitants and Testicle Hazard fans can rejoice that another duo, HAARE's Ilkka Vekka and AVARUS' Janne Laurila has joined those elite pairs who are fighting their way to the sun and shedding ultraviolet furiousness on their way. "Horrors Of Nature" is microcosm blown to macrocosm, energy focused as sound - and mastered for ultimate ear penetration by the unmatched Grant Richardson. Ltd x 200 copies.

SPK - 'Auto-Da-Fé' CD (Old Europa Cafe) - £13.50

Reissue of the legendary SPK album "Auto-Da-Fé", originally released by Walter Ulbricht Schallfolien in 1983 and later by Mute's sublabel Grey Area / SPK & Lustmord's label Side-Effects in 1993. "Auto-Da-Fé" is a collection of SPK's singles from 1978-1979. The first five tracks are basically a scratchy thrashy punk sound, augmented by synthesizers and samples. Guitars grind, electronics screech, and metal is most thoroughly bashed. A highlight of these early works (and album), is the deranged 'Slogun'. The intro to the song, a demented echoing clucking and quacking, leads into a pulverising mechanical grind. Surely a candidate for most extreme song of the late 70's. The next three tracks come from 1981 when a more synth-oriented sound was discovered. 'Metal Field' and 'Walking on Dead Steps', ever-so-slightly catchy, creepy, with militaristic overtones. 'A Heart that Breaks (In No Time Or Place)', is the stand-out here; a minimalistic, almost EBM track, as an impassioned female voice narrates the amazingly bitter lyrics, while seemingly random percussion bashes quietly in the background. On the final three tracks (from 1982), a kind of shamanic quality has overcome the music, with a tribal, mystical sound. Synth-drum beats hold the songs together, as metallic-percussion inject the tracks with a hint of randomness and confusion. Vocals are no longer shouted, but delivered calmly, and the synth backing is created through drones, rather than beeps and stabs. Every single one of these 11 tracks is of highest Industrial quality, with the rough sound of the era. From Industrial-Noise textures to Punk trappings to more danceable Industrial Angst-Pop, this is a selection of great SPK hits that made the history of Industrial Muzak. 6-panel digipak with booklet, including a new introduction by Graeme Revell, written at the end of 2025.

ROD MODELL - 'Frequencies In The Fog' LP BLACK (13 / Silentes) - £24
ROD MODELL - 'Frequencies In The Fog' LP CLEAR (13 / Silentes) - £27

Sound trails, minimal structures built with pads, discreet electronic elements, slow, deep and enveloping bass lines, backgrounds of confused voices treated in reverse, circular movements alternating with liquid stasis and quiet... Creaks on layered sound substrates of indecipherable nature, which seem to emerge from a thick blanket of fog that reveals fragments of real landscapes here and there, ready to disappear from view again after a few moments, once more hidden by clouds of steam in constant motion... A fantastic journey, almost "suspended" in a void, crossing immaterial, confused and evanescent landscapes. Rod Modell is a sound designer operating primarily from Detroit (with a base in Amsterdam). "A world of blurred horizons and vast, haze-soaked landscapes cloaked in flora. As ever with Modell, the moment to moment details in this one are exquisite. Between a pair of headphones listening to this record was like having tiny jolts of electricity pass directly into my brain, a sensory-rich and fascinatingly textured work" (The Moon Hangs). HAL McGEE - 'Electronic Cottage' Book (Korm Plastics) - £33

In the wake of his Cause And Effect cassette label and distribution service, Hal McGee launched Electronic Cottage International Magazine. From 1989-1991, its six issues focused on the independent home recording community - artists who had developed their craft in the post-punk DIY era. The contributors were nearly all members of the hometaping community, with the magazine featuring articles providing helpful tips and highlighting the challenges they faced. It included insightful artist and label profiles and could be a hotbed of controversy and debate. Though its mission was to serve the hometaping community, Electronic Cottage's coverage of independent music contributed as much as any of the era's publications. The 400+ pages produced stand as crucial documents of an era that was melting into the next. This complete facsimile edition, designed by Studio Bertin and published by Korm Plastics, preserves the full run in a handsome hardcover format. The foreword by Jerry Kranitz, author of "Cassette Culture - Homemade Music and the Creative Spirit in the Pre-Internet Age", situates these documents within the broader history of post-punk independent arts movements. For scholars of underground music, for veterans of the tape-trading networks, for anyone seeking to understand how creativity circulated before platforms captured it - essential testimony from the heart of the cassette revolution. A hefty, heavyweight item - A4, hardcover, 468pp. Very few copies in stock - act fast!
FOLKSTORM - 'For the Love of Hate + Noisient' CD (Old Europa Cafe) - £12

In 2002 Cold Meat Industry released what would be the defining moment of Folkstorm's career; "For the Love of Hate". The majority of the album was recorded "live in the studio" where Nordvargr and Ulvtharm (MZ.412) just laid down track after track with ferocious intensity and skill. You get all the classic face melting feedback noise and crushing industrial rhythms, enhanced by Nordvargr's angry vocal delivery, but also some calmer parts that give you time to breathe. Also added to the album is a remaster of the 10" vinyl "Noisient", originally released on Old Europa Cafe in 2001. These tracks were recorded in the same studio, in the same manner, in the same year, so it makes a perfect addition to this monolith of Swedish industrial music history. 6-panel digipack offering parts of the original CD and vinyl artworks.
DAVID JACKMAN - 'Das Kreuz' 7" (Die Stadt) - £13

"Das Kreuz" from David Jackman (Organum Electronics) offers a crackling nostalgic atmosphere. Two musically related 7" records (this and the Organum Electronics "Fiire" 7" - BUNDLE AVAILABLE!), are released in tandem. "Das Kreuz is a particularly stripped-down version of the soundscape [of "Fiire"]: birds chirp, crows caw, a bell tolls, and a repeating piano melody plays in the very background. Overall, these two pieces sound almost like a field recording, as if you were standing in a remote village and heard someone playing the piano in the distance" (African Paper). Ltd x 150 copies.
JARL - 'Nerve Cell Threads Electronics' CD (Zoharum) - £11.50

On his brand new album, Swedish musician Jarl (Eric Jarl of IRM, ex-Skin Area) refers to the themes that accompanied the creation of his trilogy on the brain and the nervous system, making the new publication an informal, fourth part of the series in which he touches on the topics of those three previous CDs: neurotransmitters, receptors and synapses. The album contains four tracks called 'Electrical Impulse 1-4', filling nearly 60 minutes. This time the tracks has a more dark ambient tone / sound, but still psychedelic, melodic, restrained and sometimes intense, with percussive layers and sequencer based with thick analogue sounds that slowly evolve into other sounds. Mastered by Peter Andersson (Raison D'Etre). Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak with artwork by Karolina Urbaniak.
DARKRAD - '13 Years Of Melancholia' CD + 7" Boxset (Audiophob) - £23

Darkrad celebrates 13 years of existence with this exquisite boxset: a CD with new material, live concert tracks and remixes from Mandelbrot, Aphexia, Chaotalion, Anatoly Grinberg and Alarmen, as well as a joint track with Flint Glass. Furthermore you will find a 7" single with two additional brand new tracks and a set of artwork prints.

Jana 'Dark' Komaritsa, the mastermind behind Darkrad, is a multidisciplinary artist, from visual arts to music, curation and event promotion, to videography and performance. This release is a subtle mix of various electronic music genres, with the focus being kept on the realm of dark ambient, where Darkrad continues experiments with voice and soundscapes, creating a murky atmosphere of her dark and intimate universe, where pure unrestrained emotions are brought to the surface.

"13 Years of Melancholia" is a sophisticated artistic journey, where you might either find or lose yourself, while wandering in the gloomy and melancholic passageways of the artist's mystery. "Melancholy is one of the most profound feelings. It offers your soul the comfort, while at the same time drowns you into anguish, being quiet, pervasive and emotional at the same time".

Ltd x 100 numbered copies in a beautiful black card box with foil-block silver print containing the CD in digipak, 7" in its own sleeve, and three inlay prints. Very few in stock!
ARUM LILIES - 'Flinders' CD (Death Continues Records) - £12

Third Opus of this dark and disturbing Industrial / Power Electronics project of Australia's Mark Groves (Absoluten Calfeutrail, Dead Boomers, Voice Imitator, Von Einem, and Absurd Cosmos Late Nite). "This is a soundscape that pokes around the murky insanity of two brothers and their strange behaviour detailed in my publication from last year, FLINDERS... Superb audio malaise. Arum Lilies is Mark Groves in peak bleak Melbourne overdrive, the grey and the brown of 1980's Naarm, the way it used to rot before the sheds were levelled and the glass and steel moved in. The way the upholstery in the Hitachi trains stuck to your thighs. The way the Elizabeth and Flinders intersection has always been an open sore, no matter how many pot plants and Leunig bullsh*t and square metres of astro turf are laid down" (Ex Film). Mastered by Grant Richardson (Gnawed). Gatefold digisleeve.
TRAUMA GOD - 'Isvaraya Pranamya' CD (Zazen Sounds) - £12

Trauma God is not a band - it is a ritual mechanism, a sonic entity forged from psychic abrasion, industrial decay, and ceremonial invocation. Rooted in noise, industrial, experimental, and ritual sound practices, the project functions as a sonic liturgy of transformation, where distortion becomes invocation, rhythm becomes trance, and sound becomes psychic confrontation. Trauma God channels the raw architectures of trauma, memory, fear, and transcendence into a ceremonial sound language where machine frequencies merge with occult symbolism, and industrial textures become tools of spiritual dissection. The compositions feel like dense, oppressive, meditative, and destabilising rites. Here, noise is not chaos; it is structure, invocation, purification. The project stands within the lineage of ritual industrial, ceremonial noise, and esoteric experimental sound art, where sound is used not to comfort, but to strip illusion, dissolve identity, and expose the hidden architectures of the psyche. This is ritual noise as inner work, industrial sound as spiritual technology. Gatefold digisleeve. Already sold out from the label! ACT FAST!
