NEW COLD SPRING RELEASES

400 LONELY THINGS - 'Creature Comforts' + Why I Went To The Woods' - OUT FRIDAY!!

400 Lonely Things present two beautiful, entwined releases - one, the soundtrack to a perceived isolated apocalypse filled with psychoactive melancholia and ugly lullabies, evoking an acute sense of horror, bewilderment and bereavement... and its twin, devouring hauntological dream worlds inspired by the fictional filmed landscapes of psychedelic folk and benignly sinister pagan nights in the wild forests...

"These albums are opposite sides of the same coin, which is why they are being released in tandem. The coin being, in this analogy, the 2024 National Election in the US and its place in the world's entropic trajectory, and my own emotions in the time since. Thematically different, they are both visceral reactions to these subsequent points in time in which they were made".

"CREATURE COMFORTS"

With the idea that this album would be lullabies for the end of a world, I started seeking out soothing vocal samples and hypnotic audio beds and simple melodies and set about roughing them up to form a soundtrack to my perceived isolated apocalypse. These songs would be ugly on the surface, sad and angry and defeated and more than a little unhinged but, like David's paintings, hopefully have a heart that would show through the scarring... [read the full story of the release here].

"WHY I WENT TO THE WOODS"

Inspired equally by both the fictional filmed landscapes of psychedelic folk - the bucolic British countryside of the 1960s and 1970s which, though I've never witnessed in real life, still fill me with an inexplicable melancholic yearning to return home - and the benignly sinister pagan nights of our young wild forests here in the States... Music that would be suitable for all woodland creatures and ethereal beings of the melancholy forest. [read the full story of the release here].

We mark a decade since we first released Coil's landmark album 'Backwards', with a special 10 year anniversary vinyl reissue. All editions come in a gatefold matt-laminate sleeve with silver detail.

ALL ORDERS DIRECT FROM THE COLD SPRING STORE / BANDCAMP INCLUDE: THE FIRST EVER RELEASE OF THE FULL 'BACKWARDS DEMOS' (10-track CD), POSTER AND ARTCARD.

After the ground-breaking release of 1990's "Love's Secret Domain" album, Coil were not dormant; the main project was "Backwards", which was started in 1992, updated considerably between 1993 and 1995, and transferred in 1996 to New Orleans, where it was finished in the magic of the Nothing studios of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). The album saw the fruition of Jhonn Balance's recent vocal coaching, producing haunting, passionate vocals, while reaching new heights.

23 years after its initiation, these tracks have been beautifully preserved by Danny Hyde and are finally available in highest quality audio. Differing substantially from the later, remixed incarnation, "The New Backwards" (2008), "Backwards" contains the original versions of Coil's much-loved tracks; 'A Cold Cell' and 'Fire Of The Mind', which have appeared on various compilations over the years, and are now presented as originally intended.

VA - 'Salò or The 120 Days Of Sodom' - OUT 13th FEB 2026
LP 'BLOOD RED' £20 Adv. | CD £9 Adv.

Bandcamp  Soundcloud

The first time on any format for Pier Paolo Pasolini's controversial 1975 vision of the Marquis De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, featuring beautiful and discordant classical compositions, in stark contrast to the shocking and cruel events unfolding onscreen.

Three weeks before the scandalous release of "Salò, or The 120 Days Of Sodom", Pasolini was brutally murdered in Ostia, Italy. In the wake of the tragedy, legendary composer Ennio Morricone wrote 'Addio a Pier Paolo Pasolini' (Goodbye to Pier Paolo Pasolini) for the late filmmaker, included in the final edit.

Following the narrative of one of Pasolini's defining cinematic moments, the soundtrack opens with Ennio Morricone's "Son Tanto Triste", descends into the melancholic minor chords of Bach, Chopin, Orff, Puccini, and Graziosi, incorporates sinister renditions by the cast, and includes Morricone's own sombre tribute to the director.

Disgusted by the flood of crass sexploitation movies which filled the space opened up by his "Trilogy Of Life", Pasolini turned to the most nihilistic thinker in European history for what became his final film. His version of De Sade's 120 Days Of Sodom, amplified with motifs from Dante's Inferno, confronts the ultimate implications of fascism in a series of sexual and moral atrocities. "The only true anarchy is power".

The LP / CD will be released on Friday 13th February 2026, exactly 249 years since the Marquis de Sade was arrested and imprisoned in the dungeon of the Vincennes fortress for charges of "debauchery and immoderate libertinage" that scandalised his contemporaries.

CHIMEHOURS - 'Underneath The Earth'
CD £11.50 / LP Black £20 | LP Ltd Earth Green £23 - OUT NOW!

 Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Soundcloud   YouTube

"Underneath The Earth" is the debut album from Chimehours; a hauntological music project for the dislocated present day. Taking inspiration from Max Porter's novel "Lanny", the album digs into themes of nature, myth and community, with an edge of folk-horror.

Drones, drums and gritty guitars are juxtaposed with woodwind, strings and ethereal song. Written and produced between Derbyshire, London and Margate, the album takes musical influence from the likes of Liz Fraser, Broadcast, Beth Gibbons, Bibio and Jóhann Jóhannsson, and atmospheric cues from The Wickerman, The Fog, and Enys Men.

Chimehours is a collaboration between Beck Goldsmith and Jon Dix. The pair have previously performed in bands together and composed music for award-winning film and television. They conjured up this foray into cinematic, horror-flecked contemporary-folk to explore their love of the supernatural and the other-than-human.

Chimehours raid the vaults of 70's British cinema and trad folk soundscapes to riff on contemporary anxieties and ecological yearning. They conjured up this foray into cinematic, horror-flecked contemporary-folk to explore their love of the supernatural and the other-than-human. The result is a collection of all things earthy, exquisite and grotesque.

LLYN Y CWN - 'Megaliths In Dub'
CD £11.50. OUT NOW!

  Bandcamp  Soundcloud  Download

A deep reworking of Llyn Y Cwn's "Megaliths" (2024). The original was a profound dark ambient exploration of the sacred resonance embedded within stone circles; "Megaliths In Dub" is the echo beneath the surface, the unheard rhythm that has always been there.

The megaliths stand - timeless, unyielding. Their histories stretch beyond recorded memory, their presence imbued with silent narratives of the land. "Megaliths" sought to channel this ancient energy into pure sound. Yet no history exists without its counterpart - no creation without its shadow.

On "Megaliths In Dub", suppressed tempos emerge, pulsing with the primal force of forgotten rites. Guitar invocations from the live rituals weave through the fabric of the album, distorting and reshaping the familiar, exquisite dark ambient Llyn Y Cwn has become renowned for.

It is a sonic metamorphosis - a spectral reflection of the megalithic presence. The stones have been disturbed.

Presented in a 6-panel digipak with breathtaking photography by the artist.

ANACLETO VITOLO / HISEKA / GIGI MASIN / FABIO ORSI - 'A Sad Song For A.' 4 x CD Boxset (13 / Silentes) - £42

'A Sad Song For A.' was born from a conversation between Stefano Gentile and Giulia Dal Vecchio about intense anxiety, translating an emotional state into words. From there, came the idea of dividing the emotional journey into four stages that, in one way or another, we have all experienced: Panic, Anxiety, Light, and Dream. A project which combines writing, photography, and music with a specific goal: to make people feel less alone, creating an invisible thread of empathy through words, images, and sounds - to feel closer to one another, to strike common inner chords, to remember that no one is truly alone when going through darkness. "A sad song for A." features Gigi Masin, Fabio Orsi, Anacleto Vitolo, and a new multimedia project called Hiseka (Stefano Gentile and Giulia Dal Vecchio with various guests). Each musician worked on a phase of anxiety, creating a dedicated and original work. Stefano created the images and Giulia wrote the texts. Each of the four parts was given a title that is also the title of the sound work.:

CD1 (Panic): Anacleto Vitolo "Precipitando in un vortice di stelle malate" (Falling into a vortex of sick stars). Dark ambient with thunderous variations bursts, that bubbles with traces of noise... celestial synths, noisy cracks, rising beats (heart palpitations), abrasive roughness, an exhausting and relentless loop, hypnotic and obsessive percussion on a buzzing post-industrial backdrop.

CD2 (Anxiety): Hiseka "Affogando in un mare di polvere" (Drowning in a sea of dust). Laboured breathing in a drone dimension, pulsations in the silence, melancholically cosmic syntheses, a heart that returns to beating irregularly over a texture of field recordings, subdued Eno-esque panoramas, gentle and deeply solitary gravity touched by piano notes dirtied by glitches. Silences reign supreme.

CD3 (Light): Gigi Masin "Implodendo in una accecante oscurità" (Imploding in a blinding darkness). Sparkling sonic magic. Glimmers of light bounce off broad synthetic volutes, a bewitching ambient, airy quiet... a few veins of darkness shine through, aesthetic beauty equates to clear spirituality, sax and female voices, the elegy that intertwines piano and vocal loops, that omnipresent melancholy, nostalgia.

CD4 (Dream): Fabio Orsi "Ascoltando il rumore dei girasoli" (Listening to the sound of sunflowers). Escapist voluptuousness, in the wake of a reflective ambience, in a soft and vaporous form of post-rock, on a neutral drone base of lost melodies, yet romantic, caressing melancholy with a mild warmth, a cosmic thread that crosses the clouds, the utmost delicacy of rarefactions and celestial breaths between piano drops.

A beautiful, deluxe 4CD boxset (7.5" / 19cm), with each CD in its own printed sleeve. Also includes four individual 17x17cm booklets with photographs by Stefano Gentile and texts by Giulia Dal Vecchio, a hand numbered insert, a postcard and a bookmark. Ltd 300 numbered copies.
ANDREA BELLUCCI + GIULIO ALDINUCCI - 'Slow Dances And Still Memories' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

"Slow Dances And Still Memories" is the convergence of two musicians from distinct generation: Andrea Bellucci (Red Sector A, Subterranean Source,Iluiteq, Nerva, QOD, Son-Dha, Vetropaco, Dead Piano etc) and Giulio Aldinucci (Modus, Obsil). A languid waltz of fragmented memories and fleeting emotions, tied to moments in life, whether they arise from a dancefloor or a remote rural setting, from the hum of the night or the stillness of silence. Electronics here function much like time itself: they blur, distort, reshape, and subtly deceive memory. A choreography of ancient voices that intertwine in the mind, forming new patterns and unexpected chants. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
COLLISION STORIES - 'Avant L'Obscurité' LP (Charnel Music) - £18

Recorded January 28, 2020 in San Francisco, this was the last session the Collision Stories quartet played before, as the title says, the darkness of the pandemic and lockdown brought collaborations to a halt. "As a fan of both abstract sound constructions and wigged out psychedelic excursions, I enjoyed the morphing, mixing, and atom smashing of these realms that characterizes Avant L'Obscurité. Side A starts right off with a cacophony of high intensity, yet strangely carnivalesque delirium. It's a lysergic cauldron of motor speedway, street corner organ grinder, gurgling lip smacks, windy drones, high tension wire unravelling, and other noisy effects. It's a gripping roller coaster ride, though the music ebbs and flows, with relatively quieter passages that are propelled by mind-bending percussion patterns, searing, minimal synths drones, playfully zany keyboard melodies, alien insect swarms, and dashes of spectral Kosmiche. Side B expands on these themes, starting off with thudding percussion that penetrated my chest cavity, and a killer blend of intensely noisy chaos, whimsical effects, and meditative Kosmiche. But the mood again fluctuates between sonic assault and cosmically exploratory segments" (Electronic Cottage). Ltd x 300 copies.
COLLISION STORIES - 'Those Missing Will Complete Us' CD (Public Eyesore) - £11

"Collision Stories are a quartet of San Francisco sound artists concocting an unorthodox mélange of sounds from an appropriately unorthodox set of instruments. Individually, the four artists - Jorge Bachmann, Bryan Day, Michael Gendreau and Mason Jones - bring highly varied backgrounds to their collective work. Jones, for example, is a guitarist; at the other end of the instrumental spectrum, Day coaxes sounds from handcrafted intonarumori made of metal measuring tapes, radio transceivers, springs and a miscellany of contact mic'd wood, wire and metal. Put together, the group's sound, as captured on this CD of ten tracks recorded live and in the studio, is an aggregate of elements that are as unclassifiable as they are unidentifiable. Common to all the pieces is a sonic plasticity made of carefully juxtaposed and spaced timbres - sounds of obscure generation impacting each other and then dispersing in a heavily reverberant environment. This is sound that comes very close to the condition of abstract painting: irregular shapes of pure colour held together with a finely-tuned dynamism" (AMN Reviews). Ltd x 500 copies in a sealed ecopak.
DAMO SUZUKI with NUMINOUS EYE & STEVE ETO - 'High School Pharmacy!!!' LP (Charnel Music) - £20

After booking a tour of Japan in 2007, Numinous Eye (Mason Jones & Mike Shoun) discovered that Damo Suzuki (Can) was visiting Japan at the same time and so a night playing together with Steve Eto was arranged at Tokyo venue Pink Noise. "Playing an improvised show, with no planning ahead of time, after a transcontinental flight, was probably not wise, but it was psychedelic. And it was great. After the initial tentative and sparse piece, Mike and Steve were locked in on drums and percussion, Damo was flowing, and I found ways to wind the guitar into it all. For me, the show passed in a hazy, dreamlike time, and was over all too soon". This album is an edited sampling from the show, including the opening piece, the ending piece, and a portion from the middle. It covers all of the calm, the heavy, and the experimental aspects. Damo provided the album and song titles. Damo Suzuki passed away in February 2024. Ltd x 300 copies with download card.
DANIELE CIULLINI + LE FORBICI DI MANITÙ - 'Shadow Cones' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

Italian 'mail artist' Daniele Ciullini (TRAX collective, The Cop Killer, Oxidized Man) provided Le Forbici di Manitù (Vittore Baroni + Manitù Rossi) with various instrumental tracks on which to perform their vocal interventions. "Shadow Cones" collects traces of the dark zones in which the stories and memories of the three authors intersect and overlap, taking the city of Florence as a common thread and leitmotif - Ciullini's operational base and an equidistant meeting point between Viareggio and Reggio Emilia - with all its variety of historical, cultural, architectural and landscape suggestions. From esteemed pioneers of electronic research such as Pietro Grossi and Albert Mayr who put down roots in Florence, to the glories of the new wave scene of the early 80s that elected the city among the capitals of new Italian rock, from the artistic-literary circle that revolved around the magazine Lacerba at the time of early Futurism to the great poets and men of letters from across the Channel buried in the peculiar English Cemetery, the album sends back lights and above all shadows of a city that has never lacked in mysterious and arcane places or in political conspiracies and dramatic events. An (im)possible marriage between song, cut-up and vocal experimentation, ambient-drone and industrial sounds, gothic fascinations and very Tuscan black humour. Gatefold digisleeve with 20-page booklet.
DEISON / MINGLE - 'Everything Collapse(d) - Piano Version' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

This is an unreleased, "lost" album by Deison and Mingle conceived in 2014/15 right after the recording and the release of their debut collaboration album "Everything collapse(d)" (Aagoo Records, 2014) . Andrea Gastaldello (Mingle) passed away in 2021. "A few months after making our first album together, Andrea proposed to me the idea of re-interpreting the pieces by stripping them of all the superfluous to leave only the "melodic" skeleton... The album was never published because at the same time we accumulated new material that was going to constitute the second chapter of our precious collaboration. Andrea [was] a composer of the highest level, particularly enthusiastic about experimenting with me new musical ways, who advised me and inspired new ideas; for this I thank him and I dedicate this album to him. "Everything Collapse(d) - Piano Versions" is a perfect union of our two sounds: drones, field recordings and processed loops intermingled with melancholy harmonies and piano chimes. A gloomy and dirty electronic sound that turns into an extremely evocative score which is full of pathos. A more ethereal, almost meditative release, playing with shifting textures and minimal tones" (Cristiano Deison). Mastered by Eraldo Bernocchi. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
DODGE JONES RAGE - 'West Coast Power Outage II' LP (Charnel Music) - £18

The Dodge Jones Rage power-trio was started in late 2021 as a pandemic-driven experimental-noise-audio collaboration by three long-time grizzled noise veterans: CHRIS DODGE (Trappist, Marx Bros, Slap A Ham Records boss); MASON JONES (Collision Stories, Trance, SubArachnoid Space, Numinous Eye, Charnel House boss); and WILLIAM RAGE (Happiness Forever, Sound System Dis/Control, Blue Sabbath Black Cheer, Nihilist Assault Group). This second release from DJR, following the "WCPO I" cassette and preceding the "WCPO III" CD offers four tracks of heavy-duty surreal noise - two long and two short on each side of the vinyl. Adorned with artwork by Paul van Trigt, instilled with audio mastered by Grant Richardson, it's a blast of intense, nonsensical, alien-imbued weirdo scuzz. Play it for your in-laws, they'll thank you. Ltd x 100 copies only!
FRANCESCO GIANNICO - 'The Dead End Road' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

The road does not end: it abandons us, and in its abandonment it invites us to pause, listen, and wander within what cannot be possessed, only perceived. "The Dead End Road" is a journey along a road that leads nowhere, immersed in dark and suspended atmospheres - a path that leaves us alone with our listening. Through field recordings and electroacoustic textures, sounds emerge, dissolve, and recombine in restless spaces, between memory and presence. Each track is a fragment of an inner landscape: a place where silence is not absence but presence, and where the boundary between the real and the imaginary blurs. Francesco Giannico is an Italian electroacoustic composer and sound designer who deals with an almost obsessive attention to what is "soundscape". He has collaborated over the last two decades with the likes of Kim Cascone, Bruno Dorella, Fabio Orsi, Anacleto Vitolo, Matteo Uggeri, and Giulio Aldinucci. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
GIANLUCA BECUZZI - 'American Requiem' 2 x CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £15.50

The fifth in a series of double albums by Gianluca Becuzzi (Kinetix, Limbo) for St.An.Da., which began in 2020 with "In Between", and continued with "Mana", "Axis Mundi", and "Black Mantra". Like its predecessors, "American Requiem" combines drone guitar with sacred themes, creating compositions with a dark and captivating mood. This time, the theme of faith and death in the land of capitalist materialism par excellence, the United States, is placed at the centre of the work, with the use of a mix of traditional country-blues and avant-noise musical elements elaborated according to a deep and uninterrupted sound continuum that demands immersive listening. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
GIGI MASIN - 'Implodendo In Una Accecante Oscurità Pt.1' LP BLACK (13 / Silentes) - £20

"Implodendo In Una Accecante Oscurità" (Imploding In A Blinding Darkness) - also included in the "A Sad Song For A." 4CD Boxset - is released on two LPs, both offered on black and clear vinyl. This first LP is augmented with two exclusive extra tracks. The boxset is an emotional journey divided into four stages that, in one way or another, we have all experienced: Panic, Anxiety, Light, and Dream. Gigi Masin's sparkling sonic magic leads us to the light. The mirror reflects nothing but a faint, unfamiliar, mysteriously hostile face, but a glimmer survives, evoked by a painfully solemn romanticism that is salvific, glimmers of light bounce off broad synthetic volutes, a bewitching ambient, airy quiet, they spread, a few veins of darkness shine through, aesthetic beauty equates to clear spirituality, sax and female voices, the elegy that intertwines piano and vocal loops, that omnipresent melancholy, nostalgia, reassuring, which is openness to tomorrow. It is the moment of light, the powerful feeling that nothing is lost, that what awaits to be grasped is more than a remnant, perhaps an overcoming, light that "is not what it shows but what it reveals", that light that becomes memory that does not need to illuminate to be perceived where it most needs to spread, where darkness has resided for too long. Tracks: Lumen 00-Lumen 05. Ltd x 200 numbered copies on black vinyl.
GIGI MASIN - 'Implodendo In Una Accecante Oscurità Pt.1' LP CLEAR (13 / Silentes) - £24

Transparent vinyl edition of the above release. Ltd x 200 numbered copies.
GIGI MASIN - 'Implodendo In Una Accecante Oscurità Pt.2 LP BLACK (13 / Silentes) - £20

GIGI MASIN - 'Implodendo In Una Accecante Oscurità Pt.2 LP CLEAR (13 / Silentes) - £24

Transparent vinyl edition of the above release. Ltd x 200 numbered copies.
KLAENDESTINE - 'We Shall Share' MCD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £12

A channel-spanning collaboration between Usher San and Attrition. In the early 80's Usher San was starting his career in Dijon, France with Coït Bergman, Metal Radiant and as Anthon Shield, DZ Lectric, Norma Loy... and later Die Puppe, Black Egg and even Pagan Ring. He is one of the leading figures of what would become known as coldwave south of the English Channel. Martin Bowes and Julia Waller were also starting on their musical path in Coventry as Attrition. Julia went on to join The Legendary Pink Dots for a while while Martin started his own studio, The Cage. Fast forward 40 years and these legends of the scene started bouncing musical ideas over the channel... twisting and turning over a couple of years until KLAENDESTINE was born. The debut release, "We Shall Share", is their initial statement, and features 6 songs (23 mins) of darkwave explorations using synths, keyboards, mellotron, piano and male / female vocals. Fate is smiling. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
MASON JONES - 'Permanence, Perseverance, Persistence' LP (Charnel Music) - £18

Mason Jones (Collision Stories, Trance, SubArachnoid Space, Numinous Eye, Charnel House boss) offers up two side-long heavy noise constructions, made with chopped guitar, analogue synth, vocals, and effects. Created in late 2020 and early 2021 at the Charnel House in San Francisco. Includes download card. Ltd x 200 copies with stunning sleeve photography by Jones.
POST SCRIPTVM - 'Тучи над Борском: Эксгумация Теней' CD (Death In Venice Productions) - £12

Brooklyn duo Post Scriptvm is a unique example of classic post-industrial, which has not lost any sense of power. Widely known for the album "Raspad" (Tesco Org.), this latest album "Thunderclouds Over Borsk" returns to the sound of their mini-albums "Chiaroscvro" and "Sea-Green Series V" (2003-2004). "Thunderclouds..." is an experimental record, similar to a steep feverish dream. Strong, old school dark ambient which, despite respecting the rules of the genre, is intrinsically unpredictable on a psychoactive level. This music lies in the space between a nightmare and mysterious reality. The reactionary otherworldly sound resonates perfectly with the themes of religious obscurantism... and the quest for a higher truth. The album's title refers to the Soviet anti-religious propaganda film of 1960, which is set in the fictional town Borsk. Originally released 2016 on tape / digital only (NEN Recs), this is the first time on CD proper and features 3 bonus tracks. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digipak.
SIMON BALESTRAZZI - 'Scomparire' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

"Scomparire", to disappear. Vanishing. Pretending to vanish in a thick fog, never to be found again. The detachment from one's identity. Leaving behind the constant paranoia of what is real and what is not. Leaving behind everything: beliefs and certainties melting away like snow in the sun. The new solo album from Simon Balestrazzi's (T.A.C., Candor Chasma, Daimon, Hidden Reverse, Dream Weapon Ritual, Sarang and more) calls for the ear to linger on things shrouded in fog, sounds meandering between vision and reality. Highlighted by the mysterious shots by Adriano Zanni you can now enter an awkward soundworld where nothing can be traced anymore. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
SŌON (ADI NEWTON & JACK DANGERS) - 'Actions Made Audible (Extended Edition)' CD (Electronic Sound) - £12

Extended edition of the limited blue vinyl released in March this year. Sōon is a new project from two legends of electronic music: Adi Newton (Clock DVA, T.A.G.C.), and Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto). An uncanny and thrilling adventure in pure electronics and tape archive; an exploration of theoretical frameworks for a new kind of thinking expounded by psychedelic intellectuals like Aldous Huxley. It's a celebration and continuation of a post-war era when avant-garde western thought was edging towards cosmic consciousness with an avant-garde electronic music to match it. "Actions Made Audible" is a fantastical aural journey though spectral dimensions and psychedelic radiophonics, with exquisite sound design and beat making, floating between a sonic evocation of a mushroom trip, to a time when adventurers in sound were capturing interference from the ghostly on reel-to-reel recorders in suburban London living rooms. Gorgeous swirls and arpeggios, haunting Berlin School beauty, machines and Mellotron tapes in heart-stopping harmony. There was so much great material from the Sōon sessions, this deluxe version of the album features six new tracks, more than doubling the length of the original vinyl version. Digipak.
STARLIGHT ASSEMBLY - 'There Will Be Fireworks' CD (13 / Silentes) - £12

Dominic Appleton, known since the early 80's as the vocalist in post punk / dream pop band Breathless, and the legendary This Mortal Coil project (4AD), joins forces with the Milanese producer and sound artist Matteo Uggeri (Open To The Sea, Sparkle In Grey). Starlight Assembly's first album, "Starlight and Still Air" (2021, Beacon Sound) was widely-acclaimed, and followed after by a remix project featuring Robin Rimbaud (Scanner), Auscultation, Gabriel Saloman (Yellow Swans), Sawako and Pan American, and more. The new album, "There Will Be Fireworks", continues the duo's complex cross-genre approach to music by melding Uggeri's intricate musical textures with Appleton's sweet and melancholic melodies, supported by the haunting guitars of Gary Mundy (Ramleh, Kleistwahr, Broken Flag boss). The tracks here are more songlike, the journey more cohesive, with the artists playing more to one another's strengths. Mastered by Martin Bowes (Attrition). Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve with booklet.
STARLIGHT ASSEMBLY - 'There Will Be Fireworks' LP CLEAR **SIGNED** (13 / Silentes) - £26

Super-limited vinyl edition of the above release. Ltd x 100 copies on 140gm transparent vinyl. Includes a postcard signed by both artists and a full-size, double-sided insert with photos by Riccardo Diotallevi and Jeff Dungfelder. VERY FEW COPIES IN STOCK!
TEZ - 'Black Bamboo IV' CD (St.An.Da. / Silentes) - £12

Fourth volume in a series of electroacoustic / acousmatic performances by TeZ (known for his collaborations with Clock DVA, Scanner, and Fabio Orsi), based on live processing of acoustic sounds and field recordings. The improvisation with hybrid DIY and traditional folk / ethnic instruments, environmental recordings and archive audio clips is expanded through a series of generative filters, delays, pitch shifters and harmonisers, orchestrated in ever-changing feedback loops. On this volume, TeZ explores an even more introspective and enigmatic soundscape, where ancestral cosmic resonances merge with industrial and experimental currents. Ltd x 200 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
TRANCE - 'Ancient History' CD (Helicopter / Troniks) - £11.50

San Francisco-based musician, artist, and writer Mason Jones has been a giant force in the experimental underground for more than 30 years, from founding the influential record label Charnel Music and publishing the Ongaku Otaku magazine, curating the legendary Japanese / American Noise Treaty compilation for Release Entertainment, touring and recording under a variety of guises, including his earliest work under the moniker Trance. "Ancient History" collects three live tracks (72 mins) of shifting sound, industrial haunt, and ritual chaos, including the project's first-ever live performance (1991), the Heinz Club Oakland set (1992) opening for the fabled C.C.C.C. show documented on their Loud Sounds Dopa disc, and an expanded, completely remastered version of the Live at the Starlight Furniture Company session (1991) recorded with Jojo & Junko of Hijokaidan and Elden M. of Allegory Chapel Ltd, previously released as a sought-after 7" record on Charnel Music. Mastered by John Wiese. Digipak.

ALLEGORY CHAPEL LTD. - 'When Angels Fall' CD (Charnel Music) - £11.50

Allegory Chapel Ltd. was forged in the mid-80's by Elden M (Trance, Chaos Of The Night, ex-The Haters), from alchemical materials and hallucinatory intentions. The project contacts that sense of freedom associated with the 1980's noise scene via the unfettered use of samples, symphonics, noise, rhythm, vocals and thorough processing. The broad variety of sounds, techniques and structures used in Elden's noise are driven towards a simple purpose: to force your mind to reconcile with the horrors outside of perception. You can think of 'When Angels Fall' as a more contemplative In Slaughter Natives or MZ.412, built around swirling gusts, meticulously placed samples and symphonic passages that lend it a distinctive cinematic quality. The noise never quite takes over, it seems to trace a path from one scene to another. Ltd x 1000 copies in a sealed jewelcase.
CRASH WORSHIP - '!Pyru!' 7" (Charnel Music) - £11

RARITY! Cult American experimental industrial-noise performance group founded in 1986 around San Diego, California. Crash Worship ADRV - whose live shows are infamous for their unrivalled and unlimited chaos. Led by a strong trio of drummers, the band creates an atmosphere of bacchanalia and total abandon. Their recordings explore different aspects of rhythm and psychedelia. "Pyru" opens with f**ked-up wet p*rn movie funk before gyrating itself into a soporific, drug-exploded attempt at splicing tribal drumming with extreme hippie fare. The resultant monster is more an uneasy symbiosis than a healthy hybrid. The trancy feel of the track pulls against the alienating distortion so you feel both absorbed into its sound and at the same rime rejected rather painfully. The 'B' side [is] very different from the flip with the tribalism coming through even more obviously, combining with unrelenting loop tapes to create an odd, ever intensifying dance piece. The final track returns more to the 'A' side than anything - a Junk-Culture, Eastern Industrial noise wash over a gut-busting intense drum barriage which again seems to intensify as it progresses. Probably closer to Splintered's "Pigmeat" era combined with Test Dept. circa "Gododdin" than to, say, Muslimgauze" (Soft Watch). Explicit cover art! Original stock find from the label (slight ring wear to cover - not much considering its age!).
MASON JONES - 'International Incident' CD (Charnel Music) - £11.50

Collected from a couple of tours in Japan, this CD contains live collaborations by Mason Jones (Collision Stories, Trance, SubArachnoid Space, Numinous Eye, Charnel House boss), with a host of stars from the Japanese Noise / Experimental world: KK Null (Zeni Geva), Kawabata Makoto (Acid Mothers Temple), Hajime Koizumi (Mainliner), Tsuyama Atsushi (Omoide Hatoba), Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan), Yamamoto Seiichi (Boredoms / Omoide Hatoba) and Nakajima Akifumi (Aube). With over an hour of music, "International Incident" ranges from atmospheric sounds to noise and psych-improv heavy jams. Digipak with booklet.
MERZBOW - 'Escape Mask' CD (Other Voices Records) - £12

A rather unusual album if you know Merzbow by his trademark wall of pure noise. Recorded back in 1983, "Escape Mask" reveals to a well-hidden side of Masami Akita. Psychedelic atonal guitar-driven noise, samples, junk noise, scrubbing guitar elements, violin saws, technoid drum machine patterns and even some buried vocal inclusions - all together this distinctive album evokes sweet memories of Throbbing Gristle or early SPK. Originally released as C-60 cassette on ZSF Produkt, Japan and digitally remastered from the original cassette in July 2012 at Munemihouse, Tokyo. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.
SŌON (ADI NEWTON & JACK DANGERS) - 'Actions Made Audible' LP BLUE (Electronic Sound) - £25

Limited edition blue vinyl.

NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS / NIGEL AYERS - 'Reports Of Debris' CD (All Horned Animals) - £12.50

This is the first-ever compilation bringing together Nigel Ayers' solo work and his long-running project Nocturnal Emissions. Covering recordings from the early 1980's up to 2024, it spans more than four decades of experimental sound. Nocturnal Emissions is recognized as one of the earliest and most uncompromising industrial / noise groups, standing alongside Throbbing Gristle, SPK, and Cabaret Voltaire. Their sound sits at the intersection of raw industrial electronics, noise, and electronic Dada, fusing harsh textures, tape collage, and rhythm in a constantly evolving hybrid form. This compilation, fully remastered in Tokyo, traces the major phases of Nocturnal Emissions and Nigel Ayers' work, spanning raw, confrontational noise rooted in the squatting scene and anti-capitalist protest of the early 1980's; the rhythm-driven period that brought dancefloor energy to industrial grit; and Ayers' later solo "Neotantric" phase of ambient, ritualistic sound exploring magick, ancient beliefs and altered states while carrying forward a spirit of subversion and transcendence that remains entirely intact decades later. Across these eras, this collection (with many tracks featuring Caroline K.), captures the full breadth of Ayers' creative journey and moves between intense, layered noise and quiet, atmospheric soundscapes blending field recordings, spoken word, electronics, and collage. Jewelcase with obi strip.
VATICAN SHADOW / THE GREY WOLVES - 'Sickness In The Right / Gulf War Syndrome' LP (Total Black / Hospital Productions) - £26

Unreleased archival wrekordings / artwar from The Grey Wolves and early Vatican Shadow cassette manipulations / desert storms including 'Ready To Die' - a new Vatican Shadow track (aka Dominick Fernow of Prurient) with Salford Electronics (aka Dave Padbury of The Grey Wolves). Industrial bleakness and cold rhythms - The Grey Wolves' side-long track is particularly harsh! Pressed on 180gm black vinyl. Includes a massive folded poster of 6-colour desert camo on one side and night desert camo on the other - 40 days and 40 nights - plus four B&W inserts (2 x 12" square and 2x A4) of unseen artwork, packaged in sturdy flood-printed jacket.
VIZ MICHAEL KREMIETZ - 'Ambient Koan' CD (Sleepers) - £12.50

Zen flutist Viz Michael Kremiet teams with FAUST (experimental sounds), TROUM (transcendent drones), LIMPE FUCHS (voice / violin), Lucia Dinand (haunting vocals), and Reiko Ozaki (traditional Japanese lullaby). "Ambient Koan" represents a profound synthesis of three decades of experimental music exploration and 25 years of Zen practice. Kremietz emerges from the liminal spaces between breath, sound, and meditation, anchored by the ancient voice of the Shakuhachi flute. The album weaves together solo compositions originally created for theatre and performance with collaborative pieces featuring some of Europe's most innovative experimental musicians. Each track serves as a sonic meditation, inviting listeners into "unknown dimensions with pre-verbal and pre-symbolic origins". Kremietz's artistic practice centres on the Shakuhachi's unique ability to make breath audible, combining breathing, music, and meditation into a singular transcendent experience. His performances have taken him to sacred spaces worldwide, including the burial chamber of the Great Pyramid of Cheops and Aleister Crowley's former abbey in Cefalù, Sicily - where he recorded 'Fire of the Mind', as a homage to COIL's Jhonn Balance and Peter Christopherson. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak with 18-page booklet.
ATTRITION / ALU - 'Attrition / Alu' CD (Peripheral Minimal) - £11

A self-titled split album which seemingly accentuates the desolate paranoia of the 1980's cold-war period by both acts' usage of daunting electronic instrumentation, post-industrial angst and a generous helping of existentialist experimentalism. It's perhaps unsurprising then that both Attrition and ALU hail from two cities [Coventry and Berlin] utterly destroyed by the constant bombing raids of the RAF and the Luftwaffe during WW2. Rebuilt into ultimately, naïve idealistic visions of the future, i.e. ring-roads, underpasses, Brutalist high-rise concrete blocks and a sense of utilitarian post-modernist uniformity, not to mention a sense of dystopian dread. "Creating and exploring rich shadowy electronic soundscapes...interweaving the ephemeral with the operatic, the sound can at once calm your soul and chill your bones..." (The Hatchet). The resultant recordings recall works by other artists who were working in a similarly discordant fashion, specifically Cabaret Voltaire, Nocturnal Emissions or even the abstract, absurdist and surrealist collage-noise of Nurse With Wound. It is without doubt forgotten treasure, repackaged and remastered as an antidote to 21st century disquiet. "We aim to store as many sounds, noise and rhythmic frameworks as possible in our synthesizers and drum machines as we allow them to unfold naturally when we play live. Words and vocals are snapshots, spontaneous phenomena" (ALU ,1983). Ltd x 200 copies in a gatefold ecopak.
SIELWOLF - 'Zwischenstation' CD (Zazen Sounds) - £12

Sielwolf have released numerous albums since 1989, always walking a fine line between harsh industrial expression and later, deeply personal experiments such as dub mutations and dark ambient structures - yet always in their unmistakable style. Over the years, the raw noise gave way to more atmospheric forms, eventually paving the way for their collaborations with Ritual Dark Ambient / Drone collective Nam-Khar. This is an album of forgotten material, created during a period marked by disappearance, transition, and inner upheaval. "I consider this my sixth Sielwolf record, and I call it "The Lost Tapes". It represents the core of my recurring fever dreams - an attempt to process long-standing fears while moving toward new forms of self-determination. Deformed found voices, damp cellar percussions, fractured drones, mechanical metronomes, church-organ shadows, and distressed sound patterns merge into a nihilistic landscape of moods. These are decaying fragments from a state devoid of inner light. Sometimes regression is necessary to understand, to survive, to transform. These recordings are reports from the Zwischenstation - the in-between place where dissolution becomes revelation". Gatefold digisleeve. Already sold out from the label!
ORGAN OF CORTI - 'Locus' LP (Dead Mind Records) - £20

Swedish trio Organ Of Corti present their first LP. Slowly moving into new territory, they deliver six bare-boned surreal soundscapes. Minimal, repetitive tape loops, haunting synths and vaguely familiar vocal samples are carefully mixed for a sonic exercise reminiscent of those classic Nurse With Wound and Organum releases. Scene veterans Joachim Nordwall (The Skull Defekts, iDEAL Records boss), Mattias Gustafsson (Altar Of Flies, Barstool Mountain, Nærværet) and Dan Johansson (Sewer Election, Ättestupa, Enhet För Fri Musik, Heinz Hopf etc) have been exploring the possibilities of sound manipulation for years, together or by themselves under various aliases. Stoically moving forward in pursuit of obscure, atmospheric textures that will get right under your skin. While the world is falling apart, they have been fine-tuning their hallucinatory concrète ambiances. The sort of stuff that fits a bleak, enervated mood by chewing on nerve ends, transporting heads to other places. Ltd x 300 copies in a reverseboard sleeve.
ETHNEA NEKRŌN - 'Exo-Metempsychosis' CD (Winter-Light) - £11.50

Ethnea Nekrōn is the new project of Maurizio Landini (Onasander / Les Anges Morts) and Daniel Ferreira (Kloob). Darkness inducing drones, pierced with sci-fi overtones and deep space sound architecture. "Exo-Metempsychosis" is inspired by an idea of reincarnation that does not happen in one's own world but in other worlds of other galaxies. Rebirth as unknown entities that exist in areas far away from the Earth inhabited by human beings. A must for all followers of these two great artists. "[They] manage to unite hypnotic mortuary rhythms with twisting metal, static discharges and other sonic arsenal typical of space-inspired dark ambient with a remarkable degree of cohesion... a surprisingly refreshing take on two relatively well-established subgenres of dark ambient" (For The Innermost). Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - 'Analog 2025' CD (Unexplained Sounds) - £12

Originally released in 2016 as "Analog 2020" (digital-only, Unexplained Sounds), this newly remastered edition appears on CD for the first time, featuring three previously unreleased tracks. Reimagined as "Analog 2025", it celebrates and reaffirms the enduring spirit of analogue electronic music in an era increasingly shaped by digital tools and AI-driven processes. With visionary artists such as Robert Rich, Sonologyst, and Simon Balestrazzi taking part, the compilation pays tribute to those who continue to explore the richness and unpredictability of analogue machines. These artists reject sterile perfection in favor of the warmth, instability, and tactile expressiveness that only analogue gear can deliver. "Analog 2025" stands as both a document and a manifesto - a celebration of a global movement of musicians who view analogue synthesis not as a nostalgic indulgence, but as a vital creative choice: an act of resistance and authenticity in a hyper-digitized world. Features: Anasisant, Robert Rich, Thierry Gauthier, FernLodge, Downscope, Lars Bröndum, Fastus, Oubys, Sonologyst, Pharmakustik, Mario Lino Stancati, Simon Balestrazzi, and VÄäristymä. Ltd x 150 copies in a matt digipak.
